BAPI_CRM_SAVE is in running state.
Hi All
I am running into an issue where a request in SMQ2 of SRM Environment hangs in status "Running".
When I double click on it I get a screen that states BAPI_CRM_SAVE is running. It remains in that state.
When I searched in SAP Notes I got following suggestion.
309734 CRM/EBP server: General analysis of initial load
A request hangs in status "Running":
The cause might be that the "Logical Unit" field was not filled when the request was defined. Check to see if this is the case here. If so, enter a logical unit for the request in Transaction SM30, change the request status to "Manually", and start the request again.
I am not sure what needs to be done. Can you assist?
Nikhil
Hi,
My Suspicion is your TNSNAMES.ORA is not configured properly. Please refer the following will be useful to resolve the error.
Make sure that "TNSNAMES" is listed as one of the values of the NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH parameter in the Oracle Net profile (SQLNET.ORA)
- Verify that a TNSNAMES.ORA file exists and is in the proper directory and is accessible.
- Check that the net service name used as the connect identifier exists in the TNSNAMES.ORA file.
- Make sure there are no syntax errors anywhere in the TNSNAMES.ORA file. Look for unmatched parentheses or stray characters. Errors in a TNSNAMES.ORA file may make it unusable.
- If you are using directory naming:
- Verify that "LDAP" is listed as one of the values of the NAMES.DIRETORY_PATH parameter in the Oracle Net profile (SQLNET.ORA).
- Verify that the LDAP directory server is up and that it is accessible.
- Verify that the net service name or database name used as the connect identifier is configured in the directory.
- Verify that the default context being used is correct by specifying a fully qualified net service name or a full LDAP DN as the connect identifier
- If you are using easy connect naming:
- Verify that "EZCONNECT" is listed as one of the values of the NAMES.DIRETORY_PATH parameter in the Oracle Net profile (SQLNET.ORA).
- Make sure the host, port and service name specified are correct.
- Try enclosing the connect identifier in quote marks. See the Oracle Net Services Administrators Guide or the Oracle operating system specific guide for more information on naming.

Instance going in Running state while invoking DB adapter
HI,
I am stuck in a very tricky scenario.
I have to select data from two tables:- Header and Line table.
I am using a VIEW to fetch data from both the tables by passing Invoice id.
Now when ever i am having single line data in Both the tables Header n Line for a single Invoice id, the instance is running successfully.
But when there is multiple data in Line table for the Invoice id, the instance is going in running state and after every 60 seconds, it is creating a new instance which will also be in running state, thus this will continue and server will go in incompatible state.
I need to resolve this issue.
Please help.Hi,
What operation did you use to get the data from the view?
Did you use the custom sql or Select operation?

Crystal reports run through infoview stuck in running state
We have some Crystal reports that are executed via InfoView that contain calls to function modules in SAP R/3. Out of 200-300 exectutions, we will get one or two of them that get stuck in a "running" state and they never complete. When we reschedule the report they complete in a few seconds. Has anyone else experienced this? We're trying to determine if it's a problem on the BOE side or in the gateway in R/3. Again, 99% of the time the reports work, but just an occasional one or two get stuck each day. We are using BOE XI 3.1 SP3.
OK. Sorry, but now I want you to read over what you wrote. Put your self in my shoes and see if you can even start to troubeshoot this. Looking at the following may also help;

Database Adapter Polling, Instances in Running State
Hello All,
I have a composite in which the database adapter is a service (polling a table in SQL Server). Sometimes, when instances gets created, like 2 instances are being in a running state and not being completed at all. we terminated the instances last 2 times, and this scenario is being repeated again. If i click the instance which is running, i can only see the service which says it is completed, no BPEL component is being seen, can anyone faced this issue before ? why this is happening ?
Please help....
NareshCould you provide more insight on how you wired the adapter and BPEL process inside the composite? What does the BPEL look like? You could add a BPEL component that persists some stuff just for test purposes. That could give you more feedback from the console.

BPEL Composite going in running state
I have a mediator that reads from AQ and routes it to the BPEL processes based on condition. When there are 15 or 20 instance read from AQ, some of the BPEL processes go into a running state. Once the process goes into a running state, the any instances created for that bpel process goes into running state. There are no errors in the soa-diagnostics log or soa log. We are running WLS server in a single node environment, database installed in a single solaris container and the wls installed in another container. There are no faults generated too. If I redeploy the process, the BPEL process starts working and goes to the same state after some time ( inconsistent). Even if I restart the soa server, the process starts working but goes to running status when load is applied.
Any help to diagnose the issue will be greatly appreciated.Just to be sure, you say the problem happened only if you have 10-15 instances?
Yes.. Even if it less that 5 but if there are concurrent calls, the problem persistIn each process you have 1 call for each service (EBS,WS,BpelProcess)?
One BPEL process calls an EBS package( Dbaadapter), Web services each of them are BPEL process
1st invoke web service call ( which is BPEL process) 2nd invoke is a dbadapter 3rd invoke is service call ( BPEL process)Did you change any of the default parameters on the SOA server, or DB connection?
>>
You might consider a problem with the EBS - maybe you are calling an API and there is a db lock...?
All the queries are only selects. No updates and these apis are tuned.Enter the current running instance - see if the last service is the same for all running instances. -
On JDBC statement, there is the method 'cancel' to instruct the database to cancel an executing statement. This works fine on Oracle server database, but not on Oracle lite database. The method call 'cancel' just blocks and the running statement is never interrupted.
The example I tried is very simple. There is a thread started which executes a long running statement. I noticed, that when moving the cursor forward by calling rs.next(), it just blocks. That would be ok, if the statement could be canceled from within the main thread by stmt.cancel. But this call blocks as well with no implact on the running statement. Why is that? Do I miss something or is it not possible to cancel a long running statements in Oracle Lite?
In the following my code snipped:
public class CancelStatement {
private static final String PATH_DB = "XX";
private static final String PATH_LIB = "XX";
private static final String CON_STRING = "jdbc:polite:whatever;DataDirectory=" + PATH_DB + ";Database=XX;IsolationLevel=Read Committed;Autocommit=Off;CursorType=Forward Only";
private static final String USER = "XX";
private static final String PASSWORD = "XX";
public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
System.setProperty("java.library.path", PATH_LIB);
Class.forName("oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver");
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(CON_STRING, USER, PASSWORD);
Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
Thread thread = new Thread(new LongStatementRunnable(con, stmt));
thread.start();
Thread.sleep(3000);
// stop long running statement
System.out.println("cancel long running statement");
stmt.cancel(); // XXX does not work, as call is blocked until out of memory
System.out.println("statement canceled");
private static class LongStatementRunnable implements Runnable {
private Connection con;
private Statement stmt;
public LongStatementRunnable(Connection con, Statement stmt) {
this.con = con;
this.stmt = stmt;
@Override
public void run() {
try {
System.out.println("start long running statement...");
// execute long running statement
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM PERSON P1, PERSON P2");
while (rs.next()) { // here the execution gets blocked
System.out.println("row"); // is never entered
rs.close();
stmt.close();
con.close();
System.out.println("long running statement finished...");
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}I would be very glad if you could help me.
Thanks a lot
Daniel
Edited by: 861793 on 26.05.2011 14:29Unfortunately Oracle Lite doesn't have this option. You can call your statement from a second thread as you have done, but you won't be able to kill or cancel this operation. The only way to get fix this is by rebooting. You can use process explorer to find the dll process that is executing the SQL, but the tables will be locked and sync would be locked as well until the process is finished running in shared memory.

Instances stuck in running state--please help
Hi,
We have a composite with all synchronous processes with synchronous calls.
We have a lot of running instances in the EM console and when we check the audit trail and the flow of many instances, the flow is completed successfully but the instances are still present in the running state. Many of the instances are in between the flow and are not completing at all. They are stuck at that point and never complete.
This we assume was due to some abnormal activity like the database being full or shutting down of composite when bpel instances were in running state.
Can anyone tell me why such kind of thing had happened and how to handle these cases.
Thank you.R,
I am assuming that you are also working with SOA Suite 11g.
I too had the same issue and was tuning the Bpel Engine but i was not able to get rid of it .
When i submitted a SR they responded that it was bug in 11.1.3 and they are working on it.
Hoping that we would get a patch soon.
Thanks,
Tirumala Dixit. -
BPEL instances in Running state - SOA version 11.1.1.4
Hi ALL,
I am Working with the Orace SOA 11.1.1.4 version and facing the same issue
Description :
I have developed a synchronous BPEL / Composite that listens over a JMS Queue configured in weblogic (MessageType is Text /String - XML Stirng). Based on the Operation Type in the Message the BPEL forwards the message to other Composites .
If the server is restarted or the composite is redeployed , the mesages get processed fine ,but if there are more no of messages in the queue , the instances hang in running state , this happens frequenlty.
I tried modifying the DispatchThreds and invoke Thread which make thing even worse :-(
Help Needed Got badly stuck up :-(
-LakshmiTeam,
Any idea? I have "Validation" enabled for the composite and my testsuites are not working. When I test using unit tests, I am only seeing "Running" status of the processes and these are not getting completed.
Your help is appreciated. -
Backup job stuck in running state
Hi
I am using 11gR2 RAC on Windows 2008 R2. I have several different database jobs stuck in a running state. However if I check the view v$session_longops I can not see anything in there relating to RMAN. If I drill down to the job and the step that is running, in the Error Log it states:
error writing input to command
Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to investigate this?
Thanksif you know that the execution finished or is hung,use this query:
SELECT p.SPID, s.sid, s.serial#, sw.EVENT, sw.SECONDS_IN_WAIT AS
SEC_WAIT, sw.STATE, CLIENT_INFO
FROM V$SESSION_WAIT sw, V$SESSION s, V$PROCESS p
WHERE s.client_info LIKE 'rman%'
AND s.SID=sw.SID
AND s.PADDR=p.ADDR;
and kill them. -

NileshHi,
My Suspicion is your TNSNAMES.ORA is not configured properly.
Hi,
Is there any way to find out the long running statement from the previous night batch program?
ThanksAnother method is by using OEM.
1) Click on the performance tab, switch to historical selection from the drop down View Data on top right corner.
2) Scroll down to Additional Monitoring Links and select Period SQL. Use the selector at bottom of top graph to the spike in activity. Again the heavy SQL will show.
3) Click the SQL in question by examining CPU and elapsed times. Use the plan hash value to select from v$sql or v$sqltext if required. Check the SQL plan and tuning information if available.
4) From 2 above you an also schedule SQL Tuning or SQL Access advisor. -

Scheduled task going to running state in OIM
hi all,
After running the Target reconciliation it is going to running state ....how to fix this?
Thank you.For how much time it shows Running status ?
Check the status of schedule task using http://localhost:7001/xlScheduler if OIM is deployed on weblogic on 7001 port.
I have seen couple of clients who are using OID connector and never heard such issues in OOTB connector.
Try with restarting the server.
