'bapi_document_create2'  open original

Hi,
We try to open document with original using 'bapi_document_create2'.
the document was create, but the original checked in.
can i use this bapi - and leave the original open ? (check out).
thanks,
Aviva.

Hi Aviva,
based on your description I assume that in the BAPI table DOCUMENTFILES you have entered all the original data and also a storage category. In this case the original file will be checked in by the BAPI automatically. To leave the original checked out please do not enter a storage category value in table DOCUMENTFILES.
Best regards,
Christoph

  • Easy DM - cannot open original with all SAP users

    Hello SAP gurues,
I have problem with Easy Document Management, more specifically with originals in DIR's.
    We have the following situation:
Our client explicitly wanted to have only links (absolute file paths) to original files in DIR's, therefore the originals are never checked in actually. So, all files in Easy DM have "padlock unlocked" icon beside them.
When one user creates document (and adds only file path to DIR), he can open and edit file regularly.
But when other user logs in, he can not open that original (that DIR has some strange icon beside it - unlocked padlock with some sort of net at the back of it), and Easy DM says "File ... could not be accessed".
When we try to open original of that DIR in SAP GUI, we can with both users.
Could anyone please help us with this problem. What should we do in Easy DM (or SAP), so that both users can view file originals which are not checked in?
    Thanks for help!

Can you explain this bit more in detail.
But when other user logs in, he can not open that original (that DIR has some strange icon beside it - unlocked padlock with some sort of net at the back of it), and Easy DM says "File ... could not be accessed".
Check whether the other user is still kept this dir open? If it's open, then system will restrict the access.
In the mean time, please read [SAP DMS Wiki|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/DocumentManagement%28CA-DMS%29] . You may get some help. If not, please again come back here.

  • Open Illustrator template file (open original) for editing?

I know InDesign has an "Open Original" option in the file open dialog box so you can open and edit an indesign template, but I don't see an equivalent in Illustrator.
how would i open the original AIT file so i can make changes straight to it withouth having to resave a new file?

Thanks for submitting this thread--I've been wondering the same thing.
Has anything changed at all in the three years since?  I have about 600 templates to which I need to make a number of small edits, and it would save a lot of time to avoid navigating to the original template to save over it.
    Thanks!

  • Is there a way to open original clip from timeline

I hope I can explain what I mean. WHen I control clip on a clip in my timeline it opens a window with a list of choices:
    Open "Bobby's House"
    Open in Editor
    Reveal in Finder
    etc
When I use the first option, it opens the clip in my viewer, but it's the clip with the selected inpoints and outpoints that are in the timeline. I would like to open the original clip, without the inpoints and outpoints (because when I change inpoints and outpoints it changes the clip in the timeline as well, which is not what I want.) For example, I want to go back to get some more sound from "Bobby's House", but to do so I have to search through my thousands of clips in my Browser. I have my clips fairly well organized, but it would save me so much time if I didn't always have to go back to the browser.
There is a non active choice in the window called "open copy in editor". Is this what I'm looking for, and if so, how do I activate it?
    Thanks

With your playhead over the clip in the timeline and that V track's 'track selector' as the only one active...hit the 'f' key.
This will load the original clip into the viewer at the matching point of the frame in the timeline.

  • Copy and Pasted Items Open Original File

How can I stop items that were copy and pasted from one document to another to stop opening the original (copied from) file when selected in the new (pasted into) file?

InDesign works different than other programs you may be used to, which is causing your problem.
When you want to include a graphic, don't copy it and paste it into InDesign. In general, that will produce a low-resolution copy. Instead, choose File > Place, and navigate to the graphic you want to include on your hard drive, and place it. That creates a link to the external graphic. You'll be able to view the link in the Links panel (Window > Links).
It would also be better to create a new text frame with the Type tool, and paste content into it; or to choose File > Place to place an external file, like a Word document.

  • "An error (1502) occurred during the action Open." when opening original .VSD files, but NOT copies!?

We have a weird situation we're trying to troubleshoot for quite a while: We have multiple .vsd files stored on our network in DFS shares.. We have multiple users who cannot open the files, when they try by navigating to the file and double-clicking it,
they get "An error (1502) occurred during the action Open. File not found"
However, if they copy and paste the file to the same exact network folder, THAT file they can open with no problem!
The problem is very bizarre. I've checked obvious things such as file/folder permissions, versions of Visio installed, things in common between people who can and can't open the files.. I even did some testing today with some strange results...
Windows 7 x64 machine with Visio 2010 Pro installed (x86):
    1. Opened file by double-clicking it in explorer, "Got the 1502 error"
    2. Tried it again, this time I just get "File not found"
    3. Opened Vizio, did a File --> Open --> navigated to the file and opened it that way... 1502 error.
    4. Copy/pasted the file into the same folder where it's stored, then double-clicked the copy and it opens fine.
    5. Closed the copy, tried to open the original, still get file not found / error 1502.
The file does exist, it IS there.. sometimes the user just copies it to their local desktop (well, it's not really local, it's redirected) and it opens fine there.. other users email themselves a copy of the file and then open it that way.. it works for
some, not for others.. and there's no discernible pattern yet to identify who this is affecting. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,
Based on the error message, the issue may be caused by the Visio file is occupied by some other program in DFS.
    >>4. Copy/pasted the file into the same folder where it's stored, then double-clicked the copy and it opens fine.<< If you did this step, the Visio file would rename in the same folder, like file1.vsd. Thus, it opened well.
Thus, I recommend you check the file's status in computer management in DFS server, see the below image:
If the affected Visio files were occupied, please try to clean them(right click>close the file) to test.
    Hope it's helpful.

    Sorry,
This didn't help, the files are not open, locked open, and the issue still persists. Any other suggestions?

  • CS3 cannot open original TIF file after "save as" Photoshop PDF

Mac OS X 10.4.11, Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1), 2.5 GB RAM, and the files are saved to the afp file server (Windows Server 2000 SP4 running Services For Macintosh). When saving a TIF file as a PDF the original TIF file cannot be opened again.
Once Photoshop starts doing this I have to restart the system before the corruption problem goes away. The problem with that is if I do not catch it, I might convert 20 or so files in a day before I catch the problem. Once the TIF files are corrupt, the only thing I can do is restore from backup (long process) or save as again from the PDF file to TIF to place in my InDesign file. When I open the original TIF file I get an error: "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file." OR "Could not complete your request because of a problem parsing a TIFF file."
Has anyone else had this problem?

    Justin,
    >and the files are saved to the afp file server
If you are saving directly to the server, that can be trouble, particularly if IT is clueless or not vigilant about network issues and maintenance. Adobe specifically warns against working across your network. Please see the FAQ and numerous topics on this "problem".
Basically, drag-copy the file to your local drive. Work locally. Save locally. Drag-copy the completed file back to the server.
Let us know if working as I've just described "solves" the problem.

  • Get a PDF when opening original InDesign File (CS4) to update it.

I need to update an organizational chart MONDAY MORNING if I want to look really smart at my brand new job I started last week. The problem--I have located the orginal file that was created in InDesign CS4 by my predecessor. When I double click on the name to open the file I get a PDF. I cannot edit it very well and in in the time frame I will have to do it. Besides, I need to edit the original documnet. How do I do that? I did not create the origianl so do not know if there are locks etc. I need to figure this out before tommorrow at 6am or it will not look good for me...So far I have been blowing them away. Can't start looking stupid this week when I looked so smart last week! If I can't figure thei sout..I amy have to figure out hwo to correct teh PDF...which as a rememeber form a past experice is nasty and takes much longer. Thank you.

If you double click it in Finder or Windows Explorer and it quacks like a PDF, then that's what it is. The operating system is ignoring the extension and opening it with the correct application; Acrobat here.
This may be an intentional sabotage, or an inadvertent mistake, perhaps caused by the previous worker who had deleted the original ID file and thought that perhaps renaming it as PDF would cover the problem.
In Acrobat or Reader, File > Properties > Description will tell you the application that made the PDF. The Additional Metadata button may tell  you who made it - or at the login name of that user. These won't fix anything, but may help you find someone with more info, like the named person.
With your experience, it might be most efficient to place the document into a blank InDesign file on a master page if it's only a single-page document, or on the document page, then create a new layer on top of that, lock the PDF layer, and use it as a template over which you re-draw and re-type what you need to reproduce it. It's possible that a table was used to create the original - if so, create a table in a text frame atop the PDF, and resize columns or rows, and merge or split cells, etc, as needed.
To view your progress, hide the PDF layer by poking the eye of its layer in the Layers panel.
As mentioned, PDF2ID is a commercial product that can do the conversion. I believe there's either a free trial download or they'll convert your file for free to show off its strength.
    [EDIT]
It's possible that the PDF was made by converting a chart from a dedicated charting application, even something like PowerPoint or the equivalent in the free OpenOffice (aka NeoOffice on Mac.)
Naming it .indd might also have come from inadvertently including it in a batch file rename operation.

  • Edit in Photoshop - opening original file, no adjustments, no options

I have LR4 and CS5, when I right click on the photo to edit in photoshop I don't have any options as to how I want to open the file such as original, edited with LR adjusemnts, etc.  When the file immediately opens in photoshop it is opening without any of the global adjusments I made in LR.
It was working earlier and now (no settings changed to my knowledge) its not working properly?

    Bob,
OK. If you have CR 6.7, I think, in PS CS5, you'll not get the option. Do your Lightroom changes actually not make it to Photoshop? As an experiment, make a big, noticable change and send that image to PS.

  • WebDocuments: Cannot open original files

    Hello,
We are testing WebDocuments - BSP,which is used to retrieve data from SAP - DMS(Document Management System).
When we try to open any original file in any one of the documents, we get exception. All other functions are working all right. Can anybody help me with this problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sergey

    Hi Ali,
Thanks for your answer, it helped us a lot. We solved the problem with original files - it was content server error. Now we are trying to implement WebDocuments in another SAP system and got error message when starting WebDocuments:
    Business Server Page (BSP) error
    What happened?
Calling the BSP page was terminated due to an error.
    SAP Note
The following error text was processed in the system:
    Exception Class CX_FQDN
    Error Name
    Program CX_FQDN=======================CP

    ABAP Class CX_FQDN
    Analyze CHECK
    Line 10
    Long text -
    Error type: Exception

Do you know what does it mean? We made exactly the same actions as in the first SAP system, so what can be the problem?
    Thanks a lot,

    please help
    thanks
    ano

Do you get this in the window when you try to view the full sized version?
Or just the message you mentioned? If it's just the message that means the original file is missing.
Try opening the backup library while it's on the EHD by launching iPhoto with the Option key held down and selecting the library.  Does it exhibit the same problem?

  • Problem opening original iPhoto files with Yosemite

On my iMac I have Yosemite. iPhoto works but iPhoto Original apps in Applications will not open. Told to update but I have and iPhoto is now
9.6   Earlier apps still do not open. This is the message I always get. Any fix for this? Thanks in advance.

Ok I went to the location and found this:
    mac/library/application support/adobe/plug-ins/cs3/file formats/dng_cameraraw_4-6_091708.dmg
It turns out that it was here all along - I put in camera raw as two words and not one when I asked the finder and I put the exact name of the camera raw update so you can see it.
I must still be doing something wrong as its still not reading the NEFs from either my Nikon D700 or the NEFs from a D200 that I had before I switched to the D700.
I will go and check the path again - I do not know what else to do.

  • Cropped photo alias opens original uncropped photo.

    Hi All,
Recently I cropped 9 photos in iPhoto, did share>export to a folder on the desktop and proceeded to burn a CD in the Finder so I could take it in to have prints made. The problems began when I dragged the exported photos onto the blank CD icon. As expected 9 aliases were created but when I burned the disc one of the pictures was the original uncropped one. All the other 8 photos were also cropped from originals in iPhoto and those aliases all burned the cropped photos as would be expected. When I went back to the aliases I dumped onto the CD icon and opened them the one that didn't burn right opened the original uncropped photo.
I have also tried dragging the errant cropped photo from iPhoto to the desktop and what magically appears there is the original uncropped photo.
I've been using Macs for over 8 years and never have I seen where an alias points to a file other than the one from which it was created and I have no idea what is going on. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • I opened original iPhoto Library (from iMac 10.8.5) on new MBP and now it won't open on iMac

As my main computer I use an iMac which is not yet updated to Mavericks and I'd rather not update for now. I recently bought a MBP retina which has Mavericks on it.
Whilst I was using the shared network to copy over some files to my new macbook I opening the iPhoto library off my iMac onto my MBP. Everything worked fine. However when I tried to open that library on my iMac it doesn't work. I just get a pop up saying:
The library “iPhoto Library” cannot be opened.
To open it, you must upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto.
    Quit
I've tried updating but of course I cannot. I can't even double check what version of iPhoto I am running as everything is greyed out. When I go to the app store and click update I get:
Download an older version of this app?
The current version requires OS X 10.9 or later, but you can download the last compatible version.
When I download the older version it doesn't do anything unfortunately. Is there a way to get my iphoto library back on my iMac as there's a LOT of images on there that I need.
    Thanks

You will need to restore your iPhoto Library from a back up of your iMac prior to when you opened it on your new MBP Retina.
The iPhoto app for OS X Mavericks upgrades the iPhoto Library DB and you can't go back. There should have been a message displayed when you first tried opening it from your MBP Retina warning you that the libary will be upgraded.
So, as long as you have a back up of the library prior to opening it with an OS X Mavericks Mac, you can continue using it with your iMac running OS X Mountain Lion. What this means is, until you upgrade your iMac to OS X Mavericks and the newer version of iPhoto, you will have to maintain 2 iPhoto Libraries and not share it.

  • Open original image instead of cached image

While the title in itself is rather self explanatory, I'll elaborate somewhat. The current state of opening sent images means opening the cached version - the file name is wrong in that case, and often times the cached image is in wrong format or size, perhaps even compressed too much; Which might not be the preferable action for a large number of people. Could we possibly get a toggle in Options, or even default left-clicking images to opening the actual image, rather than the image cache?

    Hi Gramps,
Sorry for this late response. I tried the method you pointed to, but it did not work properly, but I got to doing what I wanted to by changing the .css for the classes and also making a new class in the SpryValidationTextField.css etc.and then applying it in the source code among the span tags.
I have a new question, but will post it separately.
