BAPI For CA02 - Assign Component allocation for routing

Hello Gurus,
I m searching for the bapi for the component allocation in routing.
Since  routing is already created my work is to assign component allocation to the operation.
i tried with the BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE  and /SAPMP/BAPI_ROUTING_PROCESS
BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE can be used only to create new routing.
But the /SAPMP/BAPI_ROUTING_PROCESS is going to short dump.
So any alternate please suggest.
Please provide sample code to assign component allocation.

Please have a look at following thread:

  • Problem in  BOM or component allocation for the Non- codified Item in a PO.

    Hi All,
Please advise how to explode a BOM or Assign component in a Purchase order with Item category (L) for a Operation oriented material for which no material code is created from a production order .
Actually in my scenario, no raw material component will send to the Sub -Contract Vendor. Only Assembled operation material lets say operation 20 from a routing ( which is not having material code ) from an In - house production from a shopfloor has to be sent to the vendor to create a operation 30 material , which is also not having a material code." How to explode a BOM or component allocation for the Non- codified Item in a PO".
Kindly give me the IMG settings for the above scenario.
    regards,
    YK

    Hi Prasobh,
Tnx for your suggestion. But, the client external processing routing is not constant activity . Based on the Operation bottlenecks client is sending the operation as external Processing. For Eg., If on first order operation 20 be external , Then in second order operation 20 need not be external. operation 30 may go out for external processing. Client does not want a material code for each operation.
    Give your valuable suggestion.

  • Component Allocation in Routing is missing

    Dear PP Gurus,
We are using R/3 4.7 version and we are facing a serious problem in Routing Comp. Alloc. since few years.  There are 3 to 5 operations in the Routing and about 20 to 30 BOM components, each components are assigned to their respective operations. But after a few days, component allocations for some materials would be gone.  So the user needs to do the assignment again from time to time.
They don't even changed the BOM and there's only 1 person who is maintaining the Routing. So we don't assume that somebody has removed the component allocation.  Besides, we have activated the Change Management in Routing since then, and we are able to see the history changes in the Routing.
If this is a System Bug, do you know any patches or OSS note that could fix the problem?
    Thanks,
    John

    Dear John,
I don't think that is a system bug.
I believe that is your master data.
You could start to researh from material master - simply use MM04
I also recommend to check out the relevant  BOM changes. Look after routing changes as well.
Before to do that, go to SU01 and get all users who able to do such things.
(some users could break the process just done a 'little' adjustment)
    Good luck!
p.s. just in case - have you done any updates recently? ask you basis guys

  • Bom for component allocation in routing

I have created Sales order Bom. When I create normal routing and go for component allocation then system asks for Bom creation.
Why system is not considering  sales order bom in Normal routing for component allocation?

    Hi,
Sales order BOM will not be valid for Production. Eventhough you have created the sale BOM, the system will consider only the Production BOM. So you need to create a Production order BOM also, when you want to create a routing or production order creation.

  • Component allocation for operations

    Hi Friends,
I have 5 components for one finished material. When i create the routing for that material all components are assigned for first peration .But i want 3 components for first operation 2 components for second operation and one component for third operation .Please tell me how i will be assigned ?
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Hi Kumar,
I understood your issue, now for "operation wise confirmation only those componets will be consumed as operation wise"
all you have to do, in the component allocation Tab you have to specify which sequence (if any); operation the component belong to. If you leave this space empty then all component would get attached to first operation itself.
The steps for confirmation is like:
    1. Issue Good/component (belonging to first operation only) with a mvt type 261 tcode MB1A to the Production Order
    2. Carry out the other activity to the order (labor, machine etc. required in 1st operation)
    3. Do the confirmation of the operation through CO11n.
    4. Proceed for next operation in the same way.

  • Component allocation in routing

In CA02 (Sales order routing) when I go to component allocation more than once then i get following message. It is ok that you only go once in component overview??
Component overview for routing cannot be called up
    Message no. CM022
    Diagnosis
You want to call up the component overview for the selected routing (group 50000637, counter ). However this is not possible, because earlier you clled up a material component overview for another routing that had the following properties:
It belongs to the same group as the routing you have now selected.
It has been allocated another material or material BOM as the routing you have now selected.
    Procedure
As long as you do not call up the component overvierw for the selected routing, you can go on working as usual. To call up the material component overview, proceed as follows:
    1. If you have made any changes in the selected plan that you want to save, do so.
    2. Cancel editing the routing
    3. Start editing routings with the selected routing (group 50000637, counter ) and call up the material component overview

all u have to do is, go to ca02 operation overview. highlight the operation and click on component allocation. there u can see assignment tab. click on that and assign the components from the bom of that header material. it is as simple as this. dont forget to save the routing at the end.
pls try this and come back with more clarity.
    cheers

  • Unit costing for materials assigned to activity - for material cost plannin

The requirement is that material cost to the company will vary depending upon the project/customer. Eg.: Material cost = basic material cost + a % for P&F + 2 % for Clearance + a % for excise + 2 % for insurance + a % for Customs
It can be a % or a lump-sum value. It can be all the components listed or part of them. This will be project specific.
Hence the following preference for material cost planning is required:
    1. Material cost based on quotation or Purchase order - If quote/PO is not available, then
2.Material cost based on unit costing done for the material in the project - If this is not available, then
    3. material cost from material master depending on price indicator i.e. Std cost or Moving average price
We are working with valuated project stock.
    SAP Help says"
"Prices are calculated in one of the following ways:
u2022     Using the strategy in the valuation variant
u2022     Manually, using the invoicing plan
    u2022     Using unit costing"
But how to get the cost as per the priority required when these three options are there is not clear.
I have tried to work with valuation variant in the costing variant assigned to Network. No valuation strategy explicitly refers to unit costing of material.
During various testings, at times, unit costing of material gets updated as planned cost; at times not. What triggers in also not clear.
    Pl. clarify
    Thanks and regards
    A.Saravanan

    Hi All
I have psoted to service market place and got the reply; we have implemented also.
    there were 2 suggestiosn:
    1. Valuation price with user exit - (EXIT_SAPLCK21_002) - This user exit has to be implemented; we have implemented - it is working. But this is taking effect when overhead calculation is done - this we rae managing that way now
    2. Alternatively you can try to use BAdI VALUATION_CK.: This BADI is not editable by us now; SAP has not released for our editing!
    The problem is solved although
There is one more clarification  required:
As SAP Help documentation: -> Unit costing is used instead of strategy sequence, but not in between steps of strategy.
How to get this done ? right now we are using the strategy - inbetween steps of strategy with user exit
    Thanks and regards

  • Need help coneverting data provider for inline fx:Component renderer for a datagrid

I want to use an existing inline item renderer and point the hard coded data provider to an arraycollection, which comes from a database.

    <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="Permit File"
              width="150"
              editorDataField="selectedItem"
              itemEditor="{inlineEditor}"/>

Thanks Harui, but it doesn't help. If the border is set it will help, but the very big problem is the empty rows that appear at the end of the datagrid... I can't find a way of measuring correctly the height of the itemRenderers!
I'll update this thread if I manage to do it.

  • Function module/BDC/BAPI for Component allocation operation wise

    Dear Experts,
I need your help on Component allocation in Routing (CA02) per opertion wise.
Currently we are assigning the Component individually per operation manually
The problem is if a BOM is having 500 Components/Materials and there are 10 operations then we need to assign these 500 components to that particular operation manually which is tedious job & killing a lot of time.
I need your help if any Function module or BAPI or BDC is there to allocate these components per operation wise.
Or any other process which can done easily on this component allocation operation wise

Hello GSC, (and of course anyone able to help me)
taking account of the date of the message (2008) i think you have finally encountered a solution to your issue ?
Well, now i have got the same problem than you before.
My requirement is to modify the component allocation in a routing by using change document.
I found the bapi /SAPMP/BAPI_ROUTING_PROCESS. I have spend few days to make it work without success.
Iam still facing error message. Futhermore i have read trough a SAP note that this BAPI could not work properly in some case.
Considering that Iam trying to study other solutions (BDC ?).
Please, i would appreciate if you give me some advice on this problem.
    Thank you very much.

  • Problem in BDC for CA02

    hello all,
i am doing BDC for change routing (ca02) transaction.
in that my need is to assign PRT allocation for operations.
i have written a program for it but if suppose for a particlular operation i want to assign PRT and if there are no PRT assigned for that particular operation before that recording fails.and if already there is atleast one PRT assigned to that operation it runs fine. so i want to remove this error.for that may be i shd first record tha no of PRTS on screen and save that in particular counter and if suppose its greater than 0 then it will run the code and if not it will escape.
I know some of u will not understand the problem..in that case i have all screen shots and program ready for it ....plz send u r mail address to me and i will send u my problem with  all details on u r mail id.waiting for quick reply.

    hi,
Here you have to take 2 perform statements, one is for PRT and another one is for without PRT
After populating the input internal table, need check whether the particuler operation is having PRT values or not.
if PRT values are available then go for PRT screen (Perform statement for PRT values).
if not PRT values are available then go for not PRT screen.
If the PRT screen is depedable on process operation values.
then you have to make prevalidation . in prevalidation the appropriate operation containing any values for the same then call perform statement for the same. else skip that session through coding.
Ask to your functional consultant regarding tables (In which table you will PRT screen values based on process operation fields) for PRT pre validation.
I hope this message will clear your doubt

  • Component allocation missing in Routing,

    Hi SAP Gurus
The component allocation  for a finished material is missing in
Routing. this is particular  with usage production BOM's. I have to manually fix it . What can be the error . Pls advise.
    regards
    Karthik

    Hi,
It seems that the BOM Components are assigned to the first operation of the Routing, but it is not the case.
If you go and see the component assignment to the Fist operation system says no components are assigned.
At the Time of Production Order creation only the BOM components will be assigned to the first operation.
If you assign a Component specifically to any operation, if you go into the Component assignment, then the to which Operation the component is assgned will be seen.
You need to assing components manually to operation..

  • Component allocation of material components in routing

    Dear Sap Gurus,
I am having a finished product in which it contains rawmaterials for making but it in my routing i am having operations of 10, 20,30,40,50,60 ( 10-shearing, 20-bending, 30-welding, 40-grinding, 50-bending, 60-grinding )
but in my routing doing compoent allocation i am using materials from bom which contains components of 10,20,30 for routing operation of 10 and the output of 10 is the input of 20 routing operation so how can i give component allocation  in routing whether i should give for routing operation of 10 the bom components so that it can take for routing operation of 20,30,40,50.
whether my procedure is correct or any body can help me how to proceed the above problem.
    regards,
    muralidhar.t

    Murlidhar,
First of all tell me one thing, are you going to identify the inprocess material with a separate material or not?
If you are going to do it, then your query can be answered.
If component ABC is allocated to operation no. 0010, it gets changed to PQR, then you need to first create the code for PQR. Then do GR as a byproduct with movement type 531 & again do the GI with movement type 261 against that order itself.
It's a quite tedious process & normally no one goes for this.
It's better you deal to the initial component & the final product only. If you opt out for in process material codification then in future where there are several stages of the process, you find it difficult & next to impossible.
Go for that if it is having major impact on the process (normally it never be).
    Hope this helps you.

  • Get routing component allocation

    Hi,
In a routing when clicking on button "ComAlloc" we can see list of component allocations.
In a program I need to get this list, I need the links component/operation.
Is there a function module to get component allocations for a routing ?
    Thank you.
    Julien SCHNEERBERGER.

i do not think them there is any standard function module which can do so.
try hitting database tabel : PLMZ in combuination with PLPO and PLAS.
