BAPI Tables and XMLSerialize

I am using the .NET connector with C# and doing a proof of concept calling the bapi Bapi_Customer_Getdetail, which is working great.  My problem is, I want to serialize the contents of the BAPIKNA101 table to an XML document.  I have produced the XML file, but there is only one problem with how it is doing this.  For attributes of the BAPIKNA101 table that have an underscore in the name, the serialization puts the characters '5f' in.  For example, here is the 'POSTL_CODE' node:  <POSTL_5fCODE>2500 BG</POSTL_--5fCODE>.  Here is a short piece of code doing the serialization:
sap_proxy.Bapi_Customer_Getdetail(CustomerNo,
            null, null, null, "1",                      out tab_kna1, out tab_return);
XmlSerializer objSr = new XmlSerializer(typeof(BAPIKNA101));
TextWriter writer = new StreamWriter(@"c:\sr.xml");
objSr.Serialize(writer, tab_kna1);
Any help would be great.  I will see how the responses here are, I may need to take this to a C# forum.
Thanks.
Don

Please install the patch from OSS note 506603 and regenerate (right-click .sapwsdl file and say "Run custom tool". This will fix the problem with the XML attributes.

  • Easy Question:Select many rows from a table and execute BAPI for these rows

    Hi Experts,
    I have created one WD project. The WD project fetches some records of backend using BAPI and displays in a table. I have to select some rows from the table and then execute BAPI for selected rows.
    How I can select multiple records from the table and then execute another BAPI for selected rows.
    Regards,
    Gary

    Hi,
    In the Node which you binded to the table create one more attribute of type boolean.
    For example your node is as below:
    //Table Node
    TableNode
    > Att1
    > Att2
    > isSelected(boolean) - Newly created attribute for this requirement.
    //Result Node contains the elements selected in TableNode
    ResultNode
    >Att1
    >Att2
    Now in the table create one more Column with Checkbox as tablecell editor. Now bind this boolean attribute to that check box.
    Now in the code you can get the selected rows by user as below:
    for(int i=0;i<TableNode().size();i++)
      if(wdContext.nodeTableNode().getTableNodeElementAt(i).getIsSelected()==true)
        IPrivateTestView.IResultNode element=wdContext.createResultNodeElement();
        element.setAtt1(wdContext.nodeTableNode().getTableNodeElementAt(i).getAtt1());
        element.setAtt2(wdContext.nodeTableNode().getTableNodeElementAt(i).getAtt2());
       wdContext.nodeResultNode().addElement(element);

    Hi,
    Steps to insert multiple entries to BAPI table.
    1.Create an instance for BAPI input
    2.Bind the instance to the Node of the BAPI input
    3.Create instance of the Structure(BAPI table) to which input has to be added.
    4.Set the input values to the Structure instance.
    5.Add the instance to the BAPI input.
    6.Execute
    From the given example,I assume Z_Recr_Apply_Point_Input  is the BAPI Input and com.epiuse.us.recruitment.models.veteranpoint.Zrecr_Aplno as Structure
    Step 1:
    Z_Recr_Apply_Point_Input request = new Z_Recr_Apply_Point_Input(WDModelScopeType.TASK_SCOPE);
    Step 2:
    <b>wdContext.nodeZ_Recr_Apply_Point_Input.bind(request);</b>
    Steps 3 & 4:
    int size = wdContext.nodeApplicants().size();
    for(int i = 0 ; i < size ; i++)
    String isselected = wdThis.wdGetContext().nodeApplicants().getElementAt(i).getAttributeAsText("Appl_Number");
    if(isselected == "true")
    com.epiuse.us.recruitment.models.veteranpoint.Zrecr_Aplno appid = new
    com.epiuse.us.recruitment.models.veteranpoint.Zrecr_Aplno();
    appid.setAppl_Number(wdContext.nodeApplicants().
    getApplicantsElementAt(i).getAppl_Number());
    <b>wdContext.currentZ_Recr_Apply_Point_InputElement().modelObject().addRecr_Aplno(appid);</b>
    Step 5:
    <b>wdContext.currentZ_Recr_Apply_Point_InputElement().modelObject().execute();</b>

  • How to pass the JCO Table and Structure in a collection List to frontEnd

    hi,
    I have a BAPI which is returns me a Table and a structure. As i have used JCO I will receive it in JCO Table and JCO Structure. Now the question is that how I should pass both these of these using a collection to the frontend for displaying the data from it.
    Thanks' & Regards,
    Samir

    Hi Samir,
    As you are trying to pass the Table and the Structure in the form of collection to the JSP page, you can create a javabean with the structure similar to that of the table/Structure.
    Lets assume you have a table called Employee with Emp_Name, Emp_Age, Emp_Sal as three columns, create a java class by name Employee which implements Serializable and attributes as Emp_Name, Emp_Age and Emp_Sal. Generate the setters and getters for the same. In your EJB code, create an instance of this Employee class and set the attributes and save it in a HashMap in the form of key value pair, Value being your Employee class instance and key be your Employee Name. Return the HashMap in your EJB code.
    Use the HashMap in your JSP. Get the Iterator for the HashMap and Loop through the keys to get the values.
    Hope this helps.

    Rekha Malavathu

  • Adding a new field in BCONT table and updating it

    Hi All,
    Is there any BAPI/BADI which will allow to add a new field in standard BCONT table and update its value?
    Your solution will be really helpful.
    Thanks,
    Nirupam

    Hi Santosh,
    This is required for UCES. We need to add a field in BCONT table (SE11/SE16), which will hold a flag value, i.e Y/N.
    The value will be updated through a custom FM being used in UCES, and also based on the value there is a validation inside UCES.
    This field need not be displayed inside any SAP screen.
    thanks,

    Hi
    what is BAPI?
    BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
    A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
    You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
    A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
    BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
    The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
    Reading instances of SAP business objects
    GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
    The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
    GetDetail() With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method. BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
    The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
    The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
    The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
    Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
    The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
    Cancel ( ) Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
    Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( ) The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

    Bdc to Bapi
    The steps to be followed are :
    1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).
    [for VA01 use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2]
    2. Create a Z program and call the BAPi (same as a Funtion module call).
    2. Now, if you see this BAPi, it has
    -> Importing structures.
    eg: SALESDOCUMENT: this will take the Sales order header data as input.
    -> Tables parameters:
    eg: ORDER_ITEM_IN: this will take the line item data as input.
    Note :
    Only specify fields that should be changed
    Select these fields by entering an X in the checkboxes
    Enter a U in the UPDATEFLAG field
    Always specify key fields when changing the data, including in the checkboxes
    The configuration is an exception here. If this needs to be changed, you need to complete it again fully.
    Maintain quantities and dates in the schedule line data
    Possible UPDATEFLAGS:
    U = change
    D = delete
    I = add
    Example
    1. Delete the whole order
    2. Delete order items
    3. Change the order
    4. Change the configuration
    Notes
    1. Minimum entry:
    You must enter the order number in the SALESDOCUMENT structure.
    You must always enter key fields for changes.
    You must always specify the update indicator in the ORDER_HEADER_INX.
    2. Commit control:
    The BAPI does not run a database Commit, which means that the application must trigger the Commit so that the changes are read to the database. To do this, use the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT BAPI.
    For further details... refer to the Function Module documentation for the BAPi.
    Bapi to VB(Visual Basic)
    Long back I had used the following flow structure to acheive the same.
    Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
    my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
    You need to have com4abap.exe
    If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:Program FilesSAPpcsapguiRFCSDKcom4abap.
    else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
    after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.
    for setting up com4abap and rfc destination please refer to the documentation for com4abap.
    Invoke NEW DCOM session

    BDC
    BDC:
    Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the process of transferring data from one SAP System to another SAP system or from a non-SAP system to SAP System.
    Features :
    BDC is an automatic procedure.
    This method is used to transfer large amount of data that is available in electronic medium.
    BDC can be used primarily when installing the SAP system and when transferring data from a legacy system (external system).
    BDC uses normal transaction codes to transfer data.
    Types of BDC :
    CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)
    CALL TRANSACTION
    BATCH INPUT METHOD:
    This method is also called as ‘CLASSICAL METHOD’.
    Features:
    Asynchronous processing.
    Synchronous Processing in database update.
    Transfer data for more than one transaction.
    Batch input processing log will be generated.
    During processing, no transaction is started until the previous transaction has been written to the database.
    CALL TRANSACTION METHOD :
    This is another method to transfer data from the legacy system.
    Features:
    Synchronous processing. The system performs a database commit immediately before and after the CALL TRANSACTION USING statement.
    Updating the database can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The program specifies the update type.
    Transfer data for a single transaction.
    Transfers data for a sequence of dialog screens.
    No batch input processing log is generated.

    User Exits
    Screen exits are exits that allow you to use a reserved part of the screen (A subscreen) to display or input data.
    It is determined be SAP where the sub screen will be displayed.
    The syntax is: CALL CUSTOMER-SUBSCREEN
    The screen exit is not processed untill the corresponding subscreen has been created in an enhancement project,
    and the project has been activated.
    Note:
    Function codes are only processed in the main screens flow logic
    You are not allowed to enter a name for the subscreens command field
    You are not allowed to define GUI stauses
    You are not allowed to enter a value for Next screen
    The global data of the program is not available for the subscreen. Data for the subscreen is provided by function modules.
    These function modules belongs to the same function group as the subscreen Subscreens are edited with transaction CMOD.
    When you activate a project containg subscreens, the calling screen is regenerated and the subscreen is displayed next
    time you display the calling screen
    The developer must create the subscreen and the corresponding PBO and PAI modules

    Look after CALL CUSTOMER-SUBSCREEN in the screenprogram of the screen you want to modify.
    Use transaction CMOD menu Utillities -> SAP enhancements to search for screen exits
    MENU EXITS
    Menu exits allow you to add your own functionallity to menus. Menu exits are implemented by SAP, and are reserved menu
    entries in the GUI interface. The developer can add his/her own text and logic for the menu.
    Function codes for menu exits all start with "+"
    Example
    We want to create a new menu item in the Office menu. The text for the menu should be "Run ZTEST", and the menu will
    run report ZTEST.
    Goto transaction SE43 Area Menu Maintenance
    In Area Menu Paramenter type 'S000' (S triple Zero)
    Select Change and ignore all the warning screens
    Expand the office menu. In the buttom of the office tree you will find a menu named "Customer function"
    Double click on the text. In the pop-up screen change the text to "Run ZTEST". Note that the trsnaction code is +C01
    Goto transaction SE93 and create transaction +C01 that calls report ZTEST.
    Now you will se the menu displayed in the office tree. If you delete transaction +C01 again, the new menu will dissapear.
    USER EXITS
    User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a functionmodule.
    The code for the function module is writeen by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module,
    but in the include that is implemented in the function module.
    The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is: EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
    The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as: CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>
    Example:
    The program for transaction VA01 Create salesorder is SAPMV45A
    If you search for CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION i program SAPMV45A you will find ( Among other user exits):
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '003'
    exporting
    xvbak = vbak
    xvbuk = vbuk
    xkomk = tkomk
    importing
    lvf_subrc = lvf_subrc
    tables
    xvbfa = xvbfa
    xvbap = xvbap
    xvbup = xvbup.
    The exit calls function module EXIT_SAPMV45A_003
    2. How to find user exits
    Display the program where you are searching for and exit and search for CALL CUSTOMER-EXIT
    If you know the Exit name, go to transaction CMOD. Choose menu Utillities->SAP Enhancements.
    Enter the exit name and press enter.
    You will now come to a screen that shows the function module exits for the exit.
    3. Using Project management of SAP Enhancements
    We want to create a project to enahance trasnaction VA01
    Go to transaction CMOD
    Create a project called ZVA01
    Choose the Enhancement assign radio button and press the Change button
    In the first column enter V45A0002 Predefine sold-to party in sales document . Note that an enhancement can only
    be used i 1 project. If the enhancement is allready in use, and error message will be displayed
    Press Save
    Press Components. You can now see that enhancement uses user exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_002. Double click on the exit.
    Now the function module is displayed. Double click on include ZXVVAU04 in the function module
    Insert the following code into the include: E_KUNNR = '2155'.
    Activate the include program. Go back to CMOD and activate the project.
    Goto transaction VA01 and craete a salesorder. Note that Sold-to-party now automatically is "2155"

  • Alternative UI Output formats for BAPI table

    Hi Experts,
    Can I display the output of a BAPI table in any other format apart from a table.
    Regards
    Abdullah

    Abdullah,
    In web dynpro you cannot have tables with scrollbar. A workaround for that may be a use of ScrollContainer UI element with fixed height and display all table rows via setting visibleRowsCount=-1.but problem here is , table headers will be scrolled as well. So it is better not to have them like that.
    I would suggest take use of existing table UI element and dont alter its functionality.
    Regarding incorporating the application using web dynpro I guess that you must be knowing(not sure but think that you need to get rid of COM DCOM).
    hope it helps
    regards,

  • RFC+BAPI+TABLE HELP

    Hi all.
    Im install SAP NetWeaver Sneak preview ABAP edition.
    Me application writen i VB 6 connect ok.
    BAPI,TABLE- object connect ok.
    If retrieving data command BAPI getdetail+show app closed=crash,TABLE search ok,if TABLE show data or TABLE detail data,main app writen error - No search table-table not found ......
    Please help

    Armin,
    First of all than you for your reaction. I couldn't answer earlier because I was too busy to catch up with project deadlines.
    I checked the mapping between the custom controller and the view controller is done. It should be OK since I can display the bapi returned table in a Table widget.
    But I still don't know how to access this returned table from the wdDoInit() method of the view controller.
    My context is as following:
    Bapi_Currency_Getlist_Input
      -- Curreny_List
         -- Currency
    I can get a reference to currentBapi_Currency_Getlist_Input, next I can get a reference to currentCurrency_ListElement. But as from this point, I can't get a List or any other container with the currency values. (The bapi I call is bapi_currency_getlist and I try to create a value help with curency values)

  • Do we need to create a bapi, badi and how can I use them

    Hi all,
    Please write me about the topics at subject.
    Will I use BAPI with Java or C# or VB, whatever...
    And for example for what I will use BADI.
    Could you provide me code sample to use these?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
    I have answered this question before..
    Example Code
    U need to give the step_nr, item_nr, cond_count and cond_type so the correct conditon will be updated. If no condition exists for the given parameters, a new condition will be created.
    U can find these parameters for a particular condition type in table KONV.

    Bdc to Bapi
    The steps to be followed are :
    1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).
    for VA01 use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2
    2. Create a Z program and call the BAPi (same as a Funtion module call).
    2. Now, if you see this BAPi, it has
    -> Importing structures.
    eg: SALESDOCUMENT: this will take the Sales order header data as input.
    -> Tables parameters:
    eg: ORDER_ITEM_IN: this will take the line item data as input.
    U = change
    D = delete
    I = add
    Example
    Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
    my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
    You need to have com4abap.exe
    If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:\Program Files\SAPpc\sapgui\RFCSDK\com4abap.
    else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
    after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.
    for setting up com4abap and rfc destination please refer to the documentation for com4abap.
    Invoke NEW DCOM session
    call function 'BEGIN_COM_SESSION'
    exporting
    service_dest = service_dest "(this will be a RFC destination created in SM59)
    importing
    worker_dest = worker_dest
    exceptions
    connect_to_dcom_service_failed = 1
    connect_to_dcom_worker_failed = 2
    others = 3.
    call function 'create_com_instance' destination worker_dest

    clsid = g_c_clsid
    typelib = g_c_typelib
    importing
    instid = g_f_oid
    exceptions
    communication_failure = 1 message g_f_msg
    system_failure = 2 message g_f_msg
    invalid_instance_id = 3
    others = 4.
    call function 'com_invoke' destination worker_dest
    exporting
    %instid = g_f_oid
    %method = 'UpdatePDF'
    sntemp = g_v_const_filent
    snsysid = sy-sysid
    snflag = 'N'

    rssaptable = g_t_pdfdetail1

    exceptions
    communication_failure = 1 message g_f_msg
    system_failure = 2 message g_f_msg
    invalid_instance_id = 3
    others = 4.
    then close the com session , using
    FM delete_com_instance

    BADI(Business Add-In) is the object oriented method of user exits...
    Each BAdI has a definition and more than one implementation. The definition means the methods(in class concept) that are used for performing various functions. The BAdI definition can be viewed in SE18 transaction(for standard ones) and user-defined BAdIs can be created in the same transaction as well.
    When you create a BAdI definition, an class interface will be automatically created and you can define your methods in the interface. The implementation of the methods can be done in SE19 transaction

    2. Now, if you see this BAPi, it has
    -> Importing structures.
    eg: SALESDOCUMENT: this will take the Sales order header data as input.
    -> Tables parameters:
    eg: ORDER_ITEM_IN: this will take the line item data as input.
    U = change
    D = delete
    I = add
    Example

  • Books on BAPI's and BADI's

    hi
    can any one suggest me books, on-line tutorials, or any links on BAPIS and BADIS
    vamsi

    Hi
    Welcome to SDN
    BAPI
    what is BAPI?

  • BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE not updating VBUK table and field WBSTA

    Hi all,
    We post good receipt for the inbound delivery using BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE. Upon the successful completion of GR, however, field WBSTK & GBSTK in VBUK table and field WBSTA & GBSTA in VBUP table are not getting updated from A to C for the inbound delivery.
    Wondering anybody here has experienced the similar issue before? And so, how to get it fixed without having to switch to a BDC program?
    Thanks,
    Franc

    It seems this BAPI dose not update the VBUK  fields.
