BAPI Write-up of an Asset (ABZU)

In asset write-ups Tcode ABZU. i want to change ordinary depreciation for area 50.
Is there any BAPI available for my thing.

Use transaction OAXE.
Limit transactions type for depreciation area.
Give the transaction type which you are using there.

Hi Komal,
Post Capitalization means correction of the value of an asset, which is either set too low due to not carrying out a capitalization in the past, or which is treated entirely as expense.
where as Write up is the reversal of past depreciation and write-up is necessary either when the depreciation posted was too high or when the reasons for unplanned depreciation no longer exist.

What is the transaction code you are using and what you are typing in
F-90.
Have you limit ttype 100 for non G/L posting depreciation area's
Dont know where we can limit the GL Posting.
When you don't make postings in FI use then the a asset transaction like abzon / abso
Able to post through ABZON.
But I want to post through vendor.

Interface   BAPI can not post to asset

Dear all
        i met a weird problem.
        we use a interface( bapi) to make the SAP document, but when we post document for the asset ,
only FI document generated. the Asset document not generated , the value was not posted to the asset.
        if anybody has met this kind of problem?   help .......help.......Thanks a lot !

      yes ,we have fill in the transaction type (100 - acquisiton) , and the FI document has been generated
all the fields are right ! the only problem is the asset value not updated ,it's that the asset document not generated!
and it 's not for a particular company code ,for all the company code!

Will BAPI write to Spool by itself?

Hi,
I am calling a BAPI in a program to create a sales order and writing all the BAPI return messages to the output of the program. When I schedule and run the program in the background, I can see more BAPI relevent error messages in the job log than the ones written to the program output. Could anyone please write me whether, when the BAPI is called will it write some messages to the spool by itself from within the BAPI?
Any help is really appreciated..

As per my understanding Bapi(standard) will not write anything to the spool. The bapi will only return all the messages in the bapi return table. the program has to loop in the bapi return table and write the messages to the spool.

ABZU - Asset Write-Up

Dear All,
I have attempted to perform a write-up for fixed assets in April 2008 which was capitalised in the
current year January 2008. However the system does not allow me to post.
However if I attempt to perform a write-up for fixed assets in April 2008 which was capitalised in Prior Year 2007, the system allows me to post.
Would someone advise why the system is behaving in such a way?
Why are we not allowed to post a write-up on the NBV for assets capitalised in the current year?

Write up is allowed only to the extent of accumulated depreciation from previous years. You can do write up "ABZU". however the accumulated depriciation balance has to carry forward from last fiscal year to current fiscal year and you can do writeup only upto the accumulated depr from the previous yr

Asset Writer UP - ABZU

Dear Expers,
I am facing one problem, while doing the write up in t.code ABZU with TT 711 it is not allowing, asset are capitalized in FY feb 2009. depreciation run upto march 2009 but 2010 year not open till now. i need to reduce depreciation which is posted more.
now if i open FY 2010 can i able to posted previous peiods in FY 2009? If i open FY 2010 is there any effect ?
Please guide me, how to over come this problem.

Hi Chandu,
A wirte-up is a correction of value in the past. Therefore you cannot make a write-up in the current fiscal year. I understand that your current fiscal year is 2009. Therefore you cannot post a write-up in 2009 but should be able to do so in 2010 once you open it and it becomes the current fiscal year and therefore have cumulated depreciation value.
A write up can only be carried out if you have cumulated depreciation values (from previous years). In the current fiscal year depreciation should be posted the 'normal' way. A write-up means that too much depreciation was posted in a previous year and that you will correct this in the current year. Therefor the system does not allow posting a write-up if there exist no cumulative depreciation values from
previous year.

Asset Write Up Book Value

Hi,
We need to write up an asset , but the book value of the asset and not the depreciations. Looking in the ABZU it seems that all the transaction type, are connected with depreciations write-up.
Using any transaction type, it seems that the depreciation is the only value we can write up.
Is there any transaction with which i I can write-up on an asset (e.g.) a book value of 200 USD and then start depreciations on this value?
Can anyone suggest me how we can achieve this.

You cannot do write-ups for assets alone.
You will have to create a new Z report / tcode form the ABAPers for the same. Such a function dsnt exist in the standard system.

Asset Write up Issue

Hi Guys,
We started write-up the asset with transaction ABAW and no errors occourred.
Second step: we change the depreciation key in asset master data (transaction AS02) from status MANU to status ZSL0
Third step: we runned the depreciation calculation (transaction AFAB)
Everything seems to be running smooth and no errors were displayed.
Running asset list (ART0 transaction) we discover that:
- the depreciation started correctly
- NO NET BOOK VALUE WAS in asset list , no evaluation was taken in consideration from the system.
- In AW01N transaction all the changes were displayed correctly but ONLY IN THE PLANNED VALUES, NOT IN POSTED VALUES.
Why the system has not posted in the POSTED VALUES?
Please help us resolve this issue.

Error while posting a write up for asset belonging to affiliated company

I am facing an error while posting a write up for an asset which belong to an affiliated company. Error is
Transaction type 790 not possible (posting to affiliated company)
Message no. AA390
I am using Transaction type 711 which is linked to 790 in custo. Kinldy let me know how to resolve this issue.

According to this note for document type used, we should not select the 'inter company posting' or 'enter trading partner indicator'
but as i m doing writeup for asset belonging to affiliated company, so i need to set this indicator. the document type used is standard AA

Cannot write - up for asset for aquisition in the same year.

Hi experts,
Currently I am doing SAP version 4.7, and when I try to post a write-up for the asset that I purchase the same year as my write-up financial year, system does not allow me to post. When I send this issue to OSS, they also claim the same that write up can only be done for asset that purchased in the past financial year. Is this true? because I believe that I've done some write-up for the same fiscal year of the asset being purchase maybe in previous version. Or do I need to reconfigured a new transaction type for this. Currently I am using transaction type 700. I just need a confirmation.

In our version (4.6) it is not possible to do a write-up in the same year from the acquisition.
I had created a transaction type for only depreciation area 70. I don't see in customizing that it is possible to a write-up for an acquisitions from the current year.
Perhaps you can use an other depreciation key or start later with the depreciation.
When you have a lot of changes it is better to use manual depreciation and doing an upload from EXCEL with a LSMW
