Bar Code Integration...

Hi Experts....
          I need to integrate the OCR or MICR with my system, to scan the bar codes. But also i am using SAP B1, now i need to automate this bar code processing with SAP B1,
         What is the way for this problem?
         I have already seen previous thread but i am not satisfied with tat result...............

Our users requires that the PO Receiving / Issuance / Movements should be done using the Bar Codes (Item Code) and the Weighment bridge (Quantity). Have anyone tried to interface ORACLE EBS standard form or developed Customized form within OAFramework to integrate these devices with Oracle Forms? Your suggestions and guidance would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your response.
The requirement is that when we receive the items we bring the item on the Weighment scale on a Trolley. The bar code is scanned to get the Item information. The weight from the weiging scale is populated in the GROSS Weight field. Then we have to unload the items from the Trolley and weigh the empty trolley to calculate the net weight (Gross wt - Empty Trolley wt = Net Weight). This net weight is then considered as the Quantity received.

Bar Code in Assets

Hi experts,
Has anyone used the bar code functionality in Fixed Assets?
I don't have any documentation on it but it would be very helpful in order to print labels for our assets.

In Release 4.5A, standardized interfaces (BAPIs) are available which permit a connection of a corresponding non-SAP software to the R/3 system. You can use these BAPIs for example if the physical inventory for assets should be executed with the help of an external system. The BAPIs allow the transfer of the current asset portfolio of the R/3 System to the non-SAP software and permit processing of information collected in the external system in Asset Accounting of the R/3 System.
The following BAPIs may be of interest to you in the context of a physical inventory for assets:
BAPI_FIXEDASSET_GETLIST

BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CHANGE
(Asset master records can be changed with this method)
BAPI_ASSET_RETIREMENT_POST

The procedure of an integrated inventory scenario could be as follows:
1. First the external system receives an overview of the assets available in the R/3 system (BAPI_FIXEDASSET_GETLIST).
The physical inventory is then executed in the external system.
2. If the asset found is identical with how it is stored in the R/3 system, you can use the BAPI BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CHANGE to update the date of physical inventory in the asset master record.
3. If the asset found differs from how it is stored in the R/3 system, you can use the BAPI BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CHANGE to make the change in the asset master record.
4. If the asset is no longer found during physical inventory, you can post the retirement with the BAPI BAPI_ASSET_RETIREMENT_POST.
5. If assets are found during physical inventory which are not stored in the R/3 system, you can create the asset master record with the BAPI BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CREATE1 and post the asset acquisition with the BAPI BAPI_ASSET_ACQUISITION_POST.
Report RABARC01 offers you the option to print bar codes which can be used to identify the asset during the physical inventory for assets with the help of an external system.

Why does the bar code look "chubby" when I save to PDF?

Hi, I'm designing a book cover for a client in Illustrator, and it has a bar code on the back of it. When I save the file as an .ai or a .png or .jpeg, it appears fine. But when I save the file as a .pdf (which my client will be viewing, and for print), the bar code looks like the lines have gotten bigger or run together! It's really weird...no matter which preset I use, it appears like this (I've attached a screenshot). I've also tried the "flatten transparency" and converting the numbers to outlines, but they still tend to distort when the pdf is viewed.
Any suggestions on how to fix this, or why this might be happening? It scares the client when they see it....
The lines in the picture are MUCH thicker than the actual bar code, and some appear to have blended together.

In the Preferences area of Adobe Reader, go to the Page Display tab, and
make sure that "Enhance thin lines" is unchecked. That seemed to solve
most of my problems with the type! Hope that works for you too!

Bar Code Scanning for Windows Phone 8.1

I need to find proper way how to scan bar codes in Windows Phone 8.1 or in universal app. I found out that there is native class BarcodeScanner available only for client apps and not for WP. I also find 3rd party library zxing.net, which is not working very
well on WP 8.1. I have done really deep research, but I have not found any single working solution for WP 8.1, so I would like to ask for your help in finding of library with which I will be able to scan barcodes on WP 8.1.

If you don't need a universal App you could build a Silverlight 8.1 App and use the old Camera APIs which work nicely with ZXing.Net. I have done so myself.
As for Windows 8 and Universal Apps - you would have to implement a CustomSink for the Video Stream, extract Frames from there and pipe those though a recognition library. So far there seems to be no ready made solution that offers this.
So right now using the old APIs would be my suggestion.

The balance of the mailing label do print, just not the bar code. It may be my imagination, by I believe it used to print thebar codes.

Try adding an alternate driver and try to print.
To use an alternate print driver for HP printers in Windows 7:
1. Click on the Start menu.
2. Click on Devices and Printers.
3. Click Add a Printer
4. Add a local Printer
5. Select Create a New Port
6. Select Standard TCP\IP port
7. Enter Printer IP address (Printer IP address can be found by printing network config page from printer
8. Under Manufacturer select HP and under printer select HP Officejet 8000 pirinter or Officejet 7410
9. Click apply and try printing

Help! Generating paper report with Bar code for web

Now I am using Oracle 9i AS Release 2 + Report 9i and I try to run the demo paper report "ShippingManifest.rdf" which includes Bar Code inside. But I cannot launch the report successfully. The problem seems the report service cannot call build in package ORA_JAVA. Btw, with the same report, I can run this report on the report bulider without any problem on the same machine.
Actaully, can I launch this demo report from web? If so, how can I includes classpath for the bulid in package?
or I must use JSP report instead?

tnx. i resolved the problem.
now i have anoyher one:
my report has a CF formula --- OLE2--- some file.doc (Word) (one page :))
in reports 6i it works just fine...
but in oracle apps i can only see the header and not the word doc....
i tried to convert the doc to pdf (because i have pdf as output for my report...) but i still have the same problem....
the word doc is a paramater :p_link : d:\scan\pag1.doc
what should i do to see this in application....
???

In ALV there wont be any need for bar code, bcoz barcodes are only printing purpose.
barcode can be displayed using sapscript in reports.

PDF report with bar code

Hello.
I am creating a PDF report using the Oracle Reports 6i running on Oracle Concurrent Manager.
The PDF report has a bar code.
The report finish with success but it is visualized without the bar code.
Into the output report the bar code name is small font (mw6code39mt) always.
I can visualize the output report when I manually alter the bar code name from small font to large font (MW6 Code39MT) only. I do it in my Unix server using the text editor.
The bar code name installed in my PC is large font (MW6 Code39MT)
I am experiencing problem when visualizing or printing the output report.
Has somebody experience about it or some idea about how can I to configure the Unix server or Oracle to solve the problem?

I will try to explain in more details the problem.
I have identified that the bar code name into the PDF output is lowercase (mw6code39mt).
I only visualize or print the PDF output with the bar code when I manually alter that bar code name from lowercase to uppercase (MW6Code39MT).
I do that in my Unix server using the vi editor.
Please, see what I need to alter in the PDF output file on Unix server:

What do you mean by dynamically? When yo set up a 2D bar code field you specify which field name/value pairs you want to include, along with other parameters. But be aware that they won't work with Reader unless you Reader-enable the document with LiveCycle Reader Extensions and include the bar code usage right. It will work with Acrobat Standard/Pro.

Problems on scanning BAR CODES

Didn't know you could produce Barcodes from ABAP reports - how did you do this? As Christian said, you could also make the font bigger. What are the barcode specs? Sometimes, you need to have the ratios between the "thin" and "thick" lines set up based onthe type of scanner you use. You can manipulate these settings through the Bar Code Settings via SE73.
This is how you can do it. Let's assume you are using a HP1200 Device Type and a Code 128A Barcode Font. From SE73, click on the "Printer Bar Codes" Radio button and select Display.
Double Click on the HP1200 Device Type and you will see all the Bar Codes that have been set up for that Device Type. Find "C128A_00" and single click on the Prefix 'SBP25' and hit the "Displ. Print Control" button.
This Prefix is the external printer control command that SAP will pass to the printer in the printer's language. Once you hit the "Disp. Print Control" button a popup will appear, now look at the Control Char. Seq. This is the printer command for this particular Barcode font. All the characteristics relating to Barcode Font, Size, Height, Spacing, Ratios, etc are defined here.
Because these commands are in the Printer's Native Language, you will need to get the relevant programming guide for your printer to know what values to manipulate.

Hi Kumar,
You cannot write custom code (0% coding) in an Report Writer/Painter report. The code is generated by SAP while generating the Report group. The only place in a report writer report where you can write very minimal code is at varables level or formulas inside reports.
At the report group header level, there is provision to provide authorization group. Try that.
