BAR CODE ITEM SKIP AUTOMATIC

Hello everybody I have a problem and I think that I need a idea.
I have a aplication and in one form there is one item than employer must to fill with a bar code , using a bar-code read machine. The barcodes are not ever similar in length.
Question How I can do for resolve this? Programing the barcode read machine? Modifing some propertys of item? (The length is not ever equal in lenght)
Im new in bar-codes and dont manage this item good.

But see.
When the cursor is focus in the item that must to receive the barcode, the employer pass the barcode machine by the barcode in the box, then the item received this barcode and fill with it, but dont skip till the next item, it wait that the employer press tab key. Then the employer press tab key and then it skip till next item.
I must to avoid this. The employer pass the barcode machine, item is fill with barcode and skip to next, without wait that employer press tab key. (If all barcodes are equal in length it is easy to do, but not all barcodes are equal in length).

Our users requires that the PO Receiving / Issuance / Movements should be done using the Bar Codes (Item Code) and the Weighment bridge (Quantity). The requirement is that when we receive the items we bring the item on the Weighment scale on a Trolley. The bar code is scanned to get the Item information. The weight from the weiging scale is populated in the GROSS Weight field. Then we have to unload the items from the Trolley and weigh the empty trolley to calculate the net weight (Gross wt - Empty Trolley wt = Net Weight). This net weight is then considered as the Quantity received.

Amount in Bar Code is incorrect;Amount in the line item can be used instead

We have a problem in our Brazil company code.
When we have a document with value higher than 5,000.00 BRL it is subject to Pis/cofins tax. In the Boleto (paper) document the amount is after tax deducted. But we see the full amount in the Vendor line item in SAP
When the system reads the bar code and saves this code in the vendor line item during the document change we get a warning message no."8B797: Amount in Bar Code is incorrect;Amount in the line item can be used instead".
And the amount in the Barcode line automatically adjusts itself to the line item amount which is the pre-tax amount (full amount).
Example: Amount in the SAP Invoice doc is R$ 6,268.72
Amount in Boleto (paper) R$ 5,977.22 (after deducting PIS/COFINS) - This amount appears in the bar code but once we press enter after the warning message it automatically adjusts to R$ 6,268.72 .
We tried few notes like 784748 to apply but it says it is obsolete. We are on ECC 6.0 Release level 11.

How to use Bar code field in Item master

Hi Experts
I want to know that How to integrate Bar code scanner data with SBO. Bar code contain many information like price, serial no., description etc . For example I want that when I read a barcode by barcode scanner it automatically update itemcode, description , price and serial no.

Hello Gorge,
A barcode would ideally contain only an identification code and not other information. All such information like price, etc. should be fetched from a database, after reading the barcode, and identifying the item.
You can simply enter the barcode in the Item Master Data and than use the barcode field to identify the item in sales / purchase documents instead of itemcode or itemname.

VA05 report exectution Excel format few line items gets automatically skip

Dear,
SAP support Team & Other team Members On SDN.
As we are generating report from VA05 screen for retail sales order list, the report shows full required data but when the report is executed in Excel format few line items gets automatically skipped & further tried generated in TXT format the whole report get properly dragged.
This problem is only in PRD Server, when i am teting the same in DEV Server it is properly Generated in EXCEL with Proper LINE ITEMS.
Please kindly provide me with some Solution regarding the same.

Tax code input for Automatically Generated Line Items

Hi Guys,
We want to input a tax code for the Automatically generated line item..for exchange rate differences in F-28.
Once i simulate the F-28 , and i try to input the tax code in the Automatically generated line item for exchange rate difference,
I cannot input the tax code in that screen..and it is greyed out.
Is there a way we can assign a tax code for this GL account line item that is automatically generated by the system ?

you have to add the tax code in GL master data. if that's not possible (several codes possible), I would set up a substitution.

This time I wants to perform SAP R/3 MM BARCODE printing .
I wants to print barcodes for the materials received after Goods Receipt Notification.
After that I wants that Barcode printed materials get issued by using barcode scanner
and stock automatically get updated after it get issued.

Our thought are , Scanning the bar code and then using IDOC or directly connected to SAP - ZTables for converting the data into the SAP system..
is it possible to convert the bar code information ( such us material / batch etc..) in to SAP with an interface.

Hi JJ,
I may be just re-iterating what has already been said, but for clarity I will put down the points again, since I was also faced with the same confusion regarding how barcode and sap will work.
1. Barcode Scanner has nothing to do with SAP or any software.
   In simple terms, it is just like a keyboard. To demo;
    a) Plug in the barcode scanner in the USB port
    b) Open Notepad in windows
    c) The cursor will be inside the notepad
    d) Now scan the bar code against any barcode image.
          (Suppose the barcode image contains the information XYZABC)
   e) As soon as you scan, the characters   X Y Z A B C (without spaces)
      will AUTOMATICALLY GET TYPED on the screen, inside the notepad, at the place of cursor.
    Hence, the SCANNER just acts as a KEYBOARD.
   and autommatically types in the characters WHEREVER the CURSOR is.
   We can test this using notepad, Excel, word or any where the cursor can appear.
   We can test in any standard sap screen on any text field also, etc.
2. Saving the data in SAP.
    a) First we have to figure out how to save data in SAP,
        considering we are entering data MANUALLY.
   b) This can be a STANDARD Transaction or a Z transaction.
   c) Suppose the field / information is material number,
     then instead of TYPING the material number on the screen, in the field,
    we simply place the cursor on that field.
d) then we simply scan the image (containing information on material n umber) and hooooooray,
    it gets automatically TYPED IN on that field.
    Thats it. Other fields we may have to enter manually and press the SAVE button to save the data.
Scanner just saves TYPING the information manually, and hence reduces time and error both.

Bar codes in XML Publisher

I have a requirement to show Barchodes corresponding to Item Number in my XML publisher template.
Steps Followed:
I have created a form field corresponding to that Item Number and assigned a bar code font to that field. And previewed the same via Oracle template Builder. Bar code section is not populated.
Please clarify why the form field is not getting populated in Case of Bar code fonts.
If there is an alternative, Please suggest ASAP.

Is the data your want to show as a barcode coming out onto the published document now?
If so this is simple "font-change" in the RTF template. You also have to wrap the field with a leading and trailing * (assigned to the barcode front to) so the scanner knows when to start and stop its reading (so to speak)
You will also need to create a custom property that maps where the font file can be found on the server in the RTF templage.
I have some documentation i wrote up i can send you if you provide your email address... i should just put in on a web page...

Bar Codes printing in SAPscript form

Hello everyone,
Please help me with barcodes printing problem:
We are using ECC 6.0, and printer HPLJ 2300 series PCL 6
I have installed BARCODE.DLL, and it is located in my local PC, in folder SAPgui\SAPlpd, i.e. where SAPlpd.exe file is locating.
I printed assets bar code labels using tc S_ALR_87010137, and using script form FIAA_0003, but in print preview there were just solid boxes and after print-out there were no boxes at all, just text! Then I created new script form and assigned new barcode type, but printed barcodes were still invisible on the paper list.
Where is the problem?

Just do the following check items-
1) try to print any standard form ( PO, SO etc.) from SAP printer but not through local printer. ( Spool should not be generated; check it in sp02.)
2) If it printed perfectly, then it is supposed to print the barcode too. You cannot print the barcodes using the local printers. Usually it required special printers
( zebra etc..).
else if it is not printing properly tell the basis that they havenot configured the printer properly.
we are doing presently printing of barcodes using both zebra & sap printers.
Let me know, when you are through this basic check list.

Custom icon for bar button item on iPhone?

Hey all,
I'm trying to set a custom image as a bar button item in my iPhone app and can't figure it out. I don't want the image inside a button, I want the image to be the button itself. If I use initWithCustomView the area isn't clickable anymore (unless I'm missing something).
Does anyone know how to do this?

I am having the exact same problem, but I cannot figure out the solution. I tried initWithCustomView: with a UIImageView, and then with a UIButton. If I set the UIBarButtonItem's target and action, that method does NOT get called in either scenario, and when i set the UIButton's target and action in the latter scenario, it STILL does not get called. Could you post your working sample code? Here is an example of my code which DOES NOT WORK!

Use of bar code value in apex

Hi experts,
I am building an employee attendance system in apex.
When an employee enters or leave the office, the bar code reader captures the value (i.e employee id) based on the bar code sticker on employee i-card. So after getting the employee id, I want that value in first item on apex form.
Based on this value a function/procedure should be called which stores employee details (e.g. name, date, time etc) into the table without any manual interaction. Also the value of item should be null/clear after entry in table.
I tried it using windows hooks, but it is not working properly. (e.g. It doesn't fetch the value when computer is locked.)
Is it possible to fetch the value ( employee id) directly into the form item and at the same time insert the values in the database based on the employee id...???
This is just an general overview of how it want to be work. Please provide your valuable suggestions for any other way to implement the same.

I assume you are just using a generic bar code reader that effectivly acts like a keyboard typing the relevant bar code value?
I really don't think APEX is the right environment to be doing this sort of thing in.
Unless I've misunderstood the hardware you are using though I really think you are going to struggle getting enything to happen when the machine is locked...

You mean store the image of the bar code ? Why do you want to do that ? A bar code is just the graphical representation of a number. Use a bar code scanner to translate the bar code to a number and store that. It will be much better. At least then you will be able to search for your product by that number and update the record with the qty as and when you wish.

Item Based Automatic Approval

Hi,
Is it possible to set up a workflow so that an automatic approval is performed at item level?
The requirement is that if the Item is incomplete (i.e. will go on to create a PR), then the item is automatically approved.
I have an expression to determine if an item is incomplete, but can only select decision type 1 for the Automatic (System) Approval.
Help would be appreciated.

Hi,
You can go for Item based decision for partial document (i.e., decision type 4).
Example:
In the first process level, check for the incomplete level of the item based on the expression, if it is incomplete skip the level and go for automatic approval in the next step.
