Thanks Roger I can now see the name of the website and if I right click on the name it shows me the web address. I used to be able to see the web address e.g. "https//google.co.uk" in this bar without having to right click on the name, is there a way of bringing this back?

All type in my menu bar and under icons has disappeared how do I get it back?

My "send" button has disappeared and my address list on the left side has disappeared also. How do I retrieve these items?

I have never had a problem sending & or receiving e-mail prior to the past few days. All of a sudden the Send button has disappeared and my address list on the left side has disappeared too.
I did find some help which suggested opening the Write and then press F9 to retrieve the address list. The address list returned on the left but does not appear as it used to ie. full length of the screen. However what is now there will be satisfactory. The "Send " button is still missing which is frustrating as I have not been able to send any e-mails for approximately a week now.
Would appreciate advice as to how to retrieve the above.

Thank you for your advice re: the SEND button having disappeared and also the address list on the left side having disappeared. I must confess that I was not able to get it back myself. This a.m. my computer would not turn on at all. I therefore contacted the company which services it, namely iTOK and a technician read your suggestions and after a bit of manipulation of various things he got them both back. It seems that I had not noticed the "press the alt key" as part of it due to the fact that the 'alt key' was not 'ALT key'. My fault for skimming too quickly. Thanks again for your advice...it worked and now i am back on track.

I was allowing my 2 year old daughter watch a show on netflix using google chrome but somehow she managed to get safari open and net thing I knew the browser bar is missing and when I tried to get it back, I managed to make things worse by making the bar above it disappear too. What on earth makes you think that? He's posted in the Windows category of the Safari community. He has never mentioned Mac OS. He said Safari was installed on his PC in his very first post. Furthermore, the details of his replies to your advice are precisely what you should expect if he was using Safari for Windows, and trying to implement the (inapplicable and unimplementable) Safari for Mac advice in the context of his particular issue. You've got this one very badly wrong from the beginning right through to now, and in that context the implication that he was trying to get advice here on how to do something illegal was not only wrong, but insulting.

last thing you can try would be go to settings, general, settings, reset all settings
if that does not work, a factory restore will be needed...

If that is correct, updating your system software may help the Safari toolbar issue.
Click Software Update from your Apple menu OR open System Preferences > Software Update > Check Now
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed then try Safari.
If your software is actually up to date, from the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If you have any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If the address bar reappears, uninstall one extension at a time, quit and reluanch Safari to test until you find the one that's blocking the address bar.

I'm very new to this sort of thing, so bear with me. I had my computer in to the Apple store on Jan 10th, & they replaced Leopard with Snow leopard because of problems. I have iphoto 8.
This morning opening my computer a picture briefly appreared that I had saved to iphoto. I decided to place it in its correct event box, and ! sign appeared. Upon opening iphoto, I found a blank. I've not backed up my files. I've looked everywhere on the system, including Trash, applications, Pictures, all my document files.
Also I had 2 icons of iphoto on my desktop because it had disappeared 2 years ago & came back some months later. Two days ago I decided to clean up my desktop & moved the icons to the pIcture file and a document file. I don't know whether this triggered the disappearance. The main icon is still in the dock.

By reinstalling do you mean that you deleted the app and redownloaded it ? Deleting an app will remove the app and its contents. Do you have copies of the PDFs in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library so that you can sync them back ?
