Barclays Pingit. is it coming?

Pingit is fantastic and an app i used constantly on my torch. Where on earth is it for BB10. At the moment the Z10 for me is an excellent phone...... but thats all. I have just lost key apps by upgrading to z10.
Is Pingit coming soon? desperately want to keep the phone but BB10 must get apps back from other OSs asap.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I am unable to use the Barclays Bank application which was available on OS7. When I spoke to Barclays, it is apprently Blackberry's fault and not their own, but Blackberry say Barclays should rectify the matter. Can someone make some sense of this?
Like other people I am loathed to pay a lot of money for a phone that is not so smart as others, but at the same time expected to put up with it
Equally the BBC and Talksport applications are unable to supply live radio, when under the circumstances I thought that was the whole point of 4G, given the fact that providers have purchased these airways of the government with a promise to offer a service.

  • Barclays Pingit on BB Z10

Hello all, I am new to this forum and just joined when nothing was coming forth from Appworld on Pingit app for the z10. I may not have search exhaustively but does anyone know what is happening or when or if Pingit will be available on BB z10? I miss this app!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Actually, I don't find any app called "Pingit" in AppWorld for any BB of any kind...so it's a bit difficult to understand why there might be a future path for it to BB10.
Regardless, it is the app developer who decides the specific BB models/major OS levels that they will support. There is a very large combination of those two factors, so most developers choose only to support a subset of the total. But, again, it is the developers decision concerning that.
BlackBerry receives app submissions from developers...but only rarely does BlackBerry solicit anything from the developer community. Hence, the best place to seek an answer to your question is the app developer. If you have the app somewhere else, perhaps it has contact information for them that you can use to make your inquiry.
    Good luck!

  • Constant faint ping pong noise coming from HD

I think someone described the sound best as a "faint ping pong hitting a metal surface sound." The HD itself is fine, but this constant noise is irritating. It occurs about every 15 seconds, and is very noticeable in a quiet room.
I bought a new MBP a couple weeks ago and reported this problem to Applecare. Applecare told me to go all the way to the Apple Store after waiting for about an hour even with the Genius Bar reservation online. Opened up the another MBP out of the box, still has the same problem.
Is this sound affecting ALL new MBP's? I understand that this faint ping pong noise has been around on MBP's since 2007, and that Apple was made aware of it, but nothing seems to have been done. Why?

You know what, I'm getting the exact same "ping pong" noise. It sounds like a ball dropping from a ping pong table. I think I can feel a tiny shake too. Mine doesn't happen as often as 15 seconds tho. Mine is more like every half hour? Weird. I don't have a new MBP either mine in 15" Intel Core Duo (I think 2007). I just hope its not a mother board problem. One last thing, My MBP seems to be quirky these days, after using it for long hours, the keyboard will type numbers instead of letters and miss a few characters here or there (after a few hours of usage). I'm trying to isolate these problems but no luck yet. Any one have any luck with a remedy. **** things just scare me! MBP is my bread n butter (I'm a designer).

  • Barclays ping it app just won't open, Barclays ping it app just won't open

I first opened it to register and it worked, but after I have registered t won't open anymore, I hav restarted, rebooted, close app, reinstalled app, still the same issue

Move the com.apple.screencapture.plist file out of /username/Library/Preferences/ to the Desktop, log out and back in, and try again.
BTW, use the default 10 point setting for text. Your choice just wastes screen space.

  • Ping/Chirping Sound

    Hello,
I purchased my Mac about a year ago, and a couple months ago I started to hear a "pinging/chirping" sound coming from the bottom of the my laptop. It may be from the hard drive as forums have been suggesting but I'm not too sure about it.
I recently purchased this laptop stand, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ARHYZS, and ever since I've been hearing this "pinging/chirpring" more frequently of intervals of 2-5mins. It's a high frequency pitch, similar to the sound of to penny's tapping on each other.
    Any help would be appreciated!
Also, I believe my Mac is not under warranty anymore.

There are a few things it can be. I can be the harddrive, it can be from a grounding clip in the unibody, or it can be MS Outlook which chirps when it checks for email and there is no new mail. The chirp sounds like a hardware issue.

  • RV110W - trying to set up 2 VLANS - are there docs / help for this?

I am trying to set up an RV110W router with 2 VLANs - 1 for guests to the office to just have internet access via wireless and another for employees to be able to access the LAN and internet wirelessly. I have not done anything with VLANs before, so please bear with me.
I thought this would be simple, but banging my head against the wall with all the terms in the docs:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/csbr/rv110w/administration/guide/rv110w_admin.pdf
port 1 is connected to a wired LAN / unmanaged switch with office PCs. So these machines / nothing on this subnet tag the packets before they get to the router.  This subnet is using 10.10.1.0/24
Port 2 is connected to an Engenius EAP 300, a wireless access point that can broadcast SSIDs and tie each SSID to a different VLAN.
SSID1 is called Private and is set to be VLAN 1. There's encryption on this SSID - only office staff would be able to log on.
SSID2 is called public and is set to be VLAN 10.  There's no encryption on this SSID.
I know - the router also does this, but where the router is vs. where the wireless is needed, we need to have the Engenius at that remote location.
I have the RV110W set to give out 10.10.1.0/24 IPs when you connect to the SSID1 / VLAN1
And it gives out 10.10.10.0/24 IPs when you connect to the public SSID / VLAN10.
Both get on the internet fine.  The only issue is how to set the VLAN membership for each port / and any other settings so that the wireless devices on VLAN 1 can get to the LAN devices on Port 1.  (and the public / vlan 10 devices on the wireless network to NOT get to the devices on port 1, but i think that's working.
I played with tagged / untagged / excluded, for the port membership, but either the wireless VLAN 1 devices get blocked from even the web (when port 2 is set to untagged, since they ARE tagged VLAN1) or they can't get to port 1 when set to tagged, since the port 1 devices are all untagged and the reply packets get blocked?
the doc for this unit talks about inter-vlan routing but doesn't explain what that is.  THe wireless isolation should be turned on for vlan 10, right? We don't want guests to be able to access other guest's machines?
I saw on page 71 on how to set up the guest network, but that's using the wireless built into the box, not a wireless access point.
    Overall, what I want is:
VLAN 1: port 2 (with tagged VLAN1 packets) and port 1 (with untagged packets) can pass data between each other and access the internet
VLAN10: port 2 with tagged VLAN10 packets can only get to the internet.
    Is that doable?
    How?

    thanks.  Still not working
    For the vlan membership page
    when set like this:
               port1         port 2
    vlan1     untagged    untagged
    vlan10  excluded     tagged
connecting to the vlan1 wireless SSID on port 2, I can't even get an IP address from the router (the dhcp request can't even come through port 2 because it's saying vlan1 packets have to be untagged?
connecting to the vlan 10 wireless SSID on port 2 gets a DHCP address and can only get to the web, so that's good.
If I change the membership to:
                      port1 port 2
    vlan1 untagged  tagged
    vlan10 excluded tagged
connecting to both SSIDs on port 2 will get you a dhcp address, and vlan1 devices can get into port 1, but trying to admin the wireless access device on port 2 or even pinging it, now fails -  'cause the router gatekeeper says if you want to come through port 2, your packets have to be tagged? and the packets from port 1 to port 2 are untagged?
If I change the membership to:
                port1 port 2
    vlan1   tagged tagged
    vlan10 excluded tagged
connecting to both SSIDs on port 2 will get you a dhcp address, but replies from the wired PC on port 1 / vlan1  vlan1 can't get back out of port 1 'cause the router gatekeeper says if you want to leave  through port 1, your packets have to be tagged? and the ping reply is coming form a device with untagged packets?  although the devices on vlan1 / port 1 CAN get on the web with their untagged packets.
the wireless device says it supports 802.1q
    http://www.engeniustech.com/resources/EAP300_DataSheet_v2.1.pdf
when they say port 2 / vlan 1 tagged, is it saying packets coming in FROM devices on that port have to be tagged? Or packets going TO devices on that port have to be tagged?  or both directions?
    Any advice?

  • No longer able to access Web Management after Firmware Update [SF200]

    Hello!
Today I was attempting to set up SNMP on our SF200-48 switch. I realized we were running old firmware which does not support SNMP and that the most current version (1.4.0.88) does support it. I attempted to upgrade the firmware but it failed, so I decided to install the 1.1.2.0 firmware because I read that the firmware flash process has changed before 1.4
Unfortunately, after rebooting I was no longer able to access web management on the switch. Unfortunately SF200 switches do not support CLI.
The switch is functional and responds to ping, but I cannot get into management to do anything, is there any steps we can try or will I need to reset the switch? After resetting the switch, will I lose any configuration but still not be able to access management? We do not have any other switches to drop in place of this one, and I'd like to minimize downtime as much as possible.
    thanks,
    Graham Rounds

    Hi Graham,
if you are sure that the ping response is coming from the switch then I guess the only thing you could try is the factory reset but you will loose all the configuration. You might call also Small Business Team and open a ticket so they will proceed with RMA if necessary:

  • Blackberry app world not working. Please help me.

Okay, basically I'm having this major problem. I have a blackberry torch 9800. I've just had my phone replaced as I dropped it into a puddle.. So i'm happy I got a replacement phone, the only problem I'm having is downloading one app in particular. It's 'Barclays PingIt' i had it on my app world before I dropped my last one into a puddle, but now its almost as if blackberry app world doesn't want to let me download it again? It's fine with every other app just this one. It won't even open to let me download it. It is shown under my uninstalled list in my app world but it just won't let me open it to reinstall or download that one app.
Any suggestions on what to do as this is really getting on my **bleep**.
    Much appreciated.

The place where you can find the reinstall or delete button is blank? Please check you application management if it is already there, if not, please email the app vendor support for them to to send you an OTA downlink link of its no longer available in App World.

  • Ethernet interface priority explanation

I'm looking for an explanation behind the solution to a problem I recently faced. My configuration (this is on the latest Xserve w/ 10.5.6):
    Ethernet 1
    - NAT'd, static IP
The Xserve was not providing NAT services to the local subnet. A linksys router with another static IP was acting as a gateway to the local subnet.
    Ethernet 2
    - public, static IP sitting behind a T1 router
The problem I had was that initially I had configured Ethernet 1 as the "primary interface" so that the server "looked in" rather than out by default. Consequently, I was unable to ping the external IP on Ethernet 2 from my home server (via and SSH connection). (At one point, I thought I was able to ping the external IP from another device sitting behind my T1 router, but I'm not sure this was ever the case). And yes, I had the firewalls configured to let pings through.
The only solution (and I was able to see this real time by watching my home server attempt to ping the Xserve's external IP) was to make Ethernet 2 the "primary interface". At this point, ping replies started coming back. I have no problem with this solution--I would just like to understand the reasoning behind it.
My theory is that the Xserve was trying to send replies out the local NAT'd interface (since it was primary) even though the initial ping message came from the secondary interface.
Background: my overall goal was to use multiple Xserves to distribute remotely accessible network services filtered through the firewall while still maintaining internal NAT'd interfaces so that the Xserves could be administered via the private, local subnet. DNS is setup so that the NAT'd subnet is a subdomain of the external domain.
Could somebody provide a little insight into this phenomenon so that more of us may better understand how things work?

... that ping reply still should have made it back to the source albeit routed through internal network first and out through the NAT gateway. Is this not the case?
    No. Absolutely not.
Say your machine has two interfaces, a real-world IP 234.56.78.9 and a NAT'd address 192.168.1.2.
The NAT interface has a router address set to route through 192.168.1.1. The router has a public interface address of 65.43.2.1
Now, any outgoing traffic flowing through the NAT device gets NAT'd to the 65.43.2.1 address.
So here's the scenario. Remote user pings 234.56.78.9
Mac hears the ping and sends a reply via it's 192.168.1.2 to its default router.
Now, depending on the router make/model one of two things happen. Either:
    1) the router is smart enough to realize that the ping reply is in response to a ping request it never saw and drops the packet (it won't send a reply packet to a query that never came in). or
    2) the router NATs the traffic to 65.43.2.1 and sends the reply.
In the case of 2, the remote user gets a ping reply from a completely different address than it sent out - it pinged 234.56.78.9 and got a reply from 65.43.2.1
It quite rightly ignores the ping reply as being bogus. It doesn't know your internal network and doesn't expect to get a ping reply from a completely different address than it pinged in the first place.

Hi. I'm trying to set up wi-fi spot using hostapd & dnsmasq. Everything seems to be okay, but dnsmasq doesn't assign an ip address to client machine.

    Hi, thanks for reply.
Changed "dhcp-range=192.168.0.50,192.168.0.150,255.255.255.0,6h" to "dhcp-range=192.168.0.10,192.168.0.30,6h", same result. Different lease time is my copy/paste fault, i've changed lease time, to make sure dnsmasq reading from the same conf file i've edited. If i connect my wlan0 (intranet) with eth0 (ISP) with bridge, my LAN client machine getting an ip from my ISP. Wireshark shows ping-request packets coming from LAN to my wlan0 interface, but theres no ping-reply packets (in Wireshark/Lan machine). DHCPd seems to work fine with ip address offering, but no ping-reply's.

Thanks fpr your help and response

    Hello,
Are you trying to ping the IP address of the clients behind the routers or the computer name? You will need to use the IP addresses only unless you add the names to the LMHOSTS file in your PCs. Also, if there is any antivirus or third party firewall software running on those clients it will block the PC from replying to pings from an untrusted subnet. For example you ping from R1 with 192.168.100.1 to a PC behind R2 that has 192.168.101.x. Because the antivirus or firewall software on the PC sees that the ping request is coming from a different subnet it will block the response. You will need to either disable any security software or add the untrusted subnet to the trusted list in that software. Sometimes it is best to test by pinging something that does not have any software, such as a printer or print server.
    Please keep us updated.

  • DHCP ping coming from node, not cluster IP

I know this is a long shot, but..
Netware 6.5sp8 clustered dhcp service is properly loaded and bound to the
cluster IP, but it appears that the pings (to check if IP's are already
used) are coming from the cluster node IP rather than the clustered DHCP IP.
Any ideas why this would be?

I think maybe the Netware attribute is the DNIP:ServerIPAddress, which
appears to be set when dhcpsrvr is loaded by the cluster script. The
problem is that, even though the cluster script is specifying the cluster
IP, the DNIP:ServerIPAddress is being recorded as the node address, ugh.

  • Black "finish" coming off!/ that annoying "ping" under the keyboard

I have two separate issues with my MacBook (black) that I purchased about 2 mos. ago.
    1) I'm hearing a "ping" or "tink" at regular intervals (20-30 sec.) under the right side of the keyboard, sort of near the "delete key" area. I noticed some other people have posted a similar issue, but I didn't see a consensus answer as to what is going on.
    2) Apparently, the black finish of the MacBook is covered by some sort of clear filmy material...and, mine is beginning to peel off (at the seam on the right corner..just to the right of where my hands rest). I can only assume this will continue. Great.
Anyone else having these problems? I actually went to the "Genius Bar" this morning for help. My plastic-disengagement was the first case of it the fellow had seen. And, unfortunately, I don't think he properly heard the "ping" noise (as he had to go listen in the back of the store where it wasn't so noisy, and I wasn't readily available to point out what i was talking about). He may have thought I was just bothered by normal program start-up nosies. This "ping" noise is like water torture if you're working in a quiet library office.

Yeah, I'll probably wait a little bit to return to the Genius Bar, or take it to another Apple store. I'm pretty sure the "ping"/"boink" noise wasn't an issue in the first month of use.
He did make a record of the situation with the finish. I assume this goes into my apple care record and maybe some general database of "things we need to work on." I asked what I should do if this continued (with the fear that it probably would). He said to bring it back to the store. I'm not sure what Apple would do in that case. If/when I get to that stage, I'll update. I just wasn't sure if this was a possible problem b/c this is a new-ish finish.

  • ASA 5505 Dual WAN - Ping inactive wan from outside?

I currently have some small branch offices using ASA 5505 with Security Plus license and dual wan connections. They are configured wil an sla monitor so if the primary WAN goes down the secondary connection becomes active. This works as expected, however...
I can't ping the non-active interface from an outside source. I beleive this is by design or due to some limitation on the 5505. The problem is that I don't know if the backup WAN connection is functioning normally without forcing the ASA to make it active. We use a flaky wireless connection for the backups. The problem recently bit me because both WAN connections were offline.
I'm looking for an easy way to monitor the inactive wan interface, preferably by pinging from an outside location. Is this possible?

    Hello,
This wont work because the ASA receives the ping on the backup link but has the default route pointing to the outside.
You would have to add a more spefic route for your IP.
    Example:
If you want to ping coming from IP 1.1.1.1
    route outside 0 0 x.x.1.1 1 track 1
    route backup 0 0 x.x.2.2 250
    route backup 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 x.x.2.2
