Barcode and qr code reader

I was wondering what the options are for reading various barcodes and QR codes using the camera as the source of the image
this would make my HP Stream 7 tablet more handy in the field

I would suggest searching the App Store for "QR Reader".   There are many hits.
User reviews are a good gauge as to how well each app works.

  • Barcodes and QR codes

    Hi guys,
My company is looking to implement Barcodes or QR codes to manage hardware inventory. We've just started using SCCM and I was just wondering if anybody is using a QR Code solution with conjunction with SCCM 2012?

According to customer's requirement, we suggest to create a CMDB.
Accquire related statistics from SCCM and import them to the created CMDB.
When a customer scans the barcodes or QR codes using a scanner or mobile phone, CMDB will be used to provide the information.
    For example:
Put related information to an Excel file, the records can be displayed when filtered with SN.
You can also use some advanced langues to develop better UI interface for this function.
    We
are trying to better understand customer views on social support experience, so your participation in this
interview project would be greatly appreciated if you have time.
Thanks for helping make community forums a great place.
So what you are saying is that there is no 3rd party or MS solution and that op will need to create the solution themselves.

  • Integration with Weighment scale and Bar Code reader

Our users requires that the PO Receiving / Issuance / Movements should be done using the Bar Codes (Item Code) and the Weighment bridge (Quantity). Have anyone tried to interface ORACLE EBS standard form or developed Customized form within OAFramework to integrate these devices with Oracle Forms? Your suggestions and guidance would be highly appreciated.
    -- Ahmed

    Hi Gareth,
    Thanks for your response.
The requirement is that when we receive the items we bring the item on the Weighment scale on a Trolley. The bar code is scanned to get the Item information. The weight from the weiging scale is populated in the GROSS Weight field. Then we have to unload the items from the Trolley and weigh the empty trolley to calculate the net weight (Gross wt - Empty Trolley wt = Net Weight). This net weight is then considered as the Quantity received.
Hope this makes clear to you.
    Regards.

  • EJB stub and skeleton code

I would like to examine the EJB stub and skeleton code that OC4J is generating for my applications. Is there a way to do this?

The stub and skeleton code is built into the $OC4J_HOME/application_deployments... The file is called deployment.cache which is a ZIP file of the stubs and skeleton code.

  • Read barcode or QR code inside image and save it in the file as metadata

Maybe someone can help me with this question...
All product photos contain a barcode or QR-code. It is visible inside the image.
The customer is looking for a way (a plug-in) that is able to find the code inside the image, read it and place the information found in a preselected Metadata field of the image it self.
Can anyone tell me if this already exists or is there anyone who can develop it? If yes, than please let me know
    Regards,
    Pieter

It would be absolutely incredibly useful to me as a volume photographer, and I suspect other photographers too.  Anybody who needs to link data to images or catalogue images would be the target market.
Let me outline a conversation that I had with a Lightroom developer at TTG recently, who unfortunately can't help me...
Original Conversation is at:  Lightroom 6 (Page 1) — General — Community @ The Turning Gate (post 17 onwards).
Automatically matching and syncing data to pictures is a huge software industry in its own right, believe me.
As a school photographer (though not solely), matching student IDs to their pictures makes everything so much easier and is vital to update student record databases with images of pupils.  But it's also very relevant to other sectors such as events and sports photographers.  Imagine if this data could be incorporated into TTG database search facility.... (Do we have a swoon smiley?)
Several pieces of commercial software is available, but most rely on the camera being permanently tethered to a laptop and using a barcode scanner to renames files as they come in.  This is a crap, restrictive system but is the one the vast majority of people use.  An example of this is the Australian Timestone software (http://timestonesoftware.com) which is very popular, but runs into the thousands of UK Pounds for a licence.
An American photographer called Mike Fulton wrote a piece of software called fotovelocity.net which does exactly what I prefer - to photograph the pupil with a barcode somewhere in the image that later gets read by the software and data appended to the metadata of the image.  This is slightly cheaper than Timestone, but still runs into the thousands and he not interested in dealing with anybody outside the US.
If Lightroom can read and guess faces to add naming data, then it must surely be an easy upgrade to read an easily scannable QR code?
    and ...
Has to be relevant to more than just me, surely?
Imagine all the events / dance meets / clubs / nurseries / schools / football photographers that would use this.  Admittedly, this is all volume 'hot-dog' photography and not the artistic side, but it puts a fairly nice roof over my head.
With schools I get a database beforehand, but for most events you don't need to know anything about the attendees to the event beforehand, as you just print out labels that have qr codes with sequenced numbers on them which the portrait subject (or their parents) then keep.  They then either visit a printing booth and type the code or take it home and type the code into their browsers and #kabam# up comes their images for purchase.  How they run it so that only the first image has the barcode visible yet all subsequent images retain the data from the first image until another barcode is detected I don't know.  I guess it must be that a numeric sequence must also be appended to the data from the barcode.
It's a wonderful system for photographers, which is why it costs megabucks.
I will admit though, that the commercial software tends to lab integrate as well, so there is more than just barcode reading.  Unfortunately, this ties you in to the system that your preferred lab uses, usually Timestone in the UK, and hence why people have to pay those silly license prices.
If you need a sample image with a QR code in just let me know.
Maybe fotoveolcity instructional videos may give you an impression of how this type of software flows and performs.

  • Bar Code Reading in ABAP, through handheld scanner or say Barcode Reader

    HI,
I want to scan the bar code label through the bar code reader, and get the bar code
    no in sap abap.
Please let me know what settings and coding needs to be done to get the bar code
    no that is scanned.
PLease let me know how i should go about it

    Hi Niranjan,
There are a couple of third-party tools which can directly read the data from the barcode and you can use it in the ABAP program.
Alternatively create a dialog screen. USe the barcode scanner and get the data as an input parameter and based on the input parameter do what ever validation you require and then based on the output of the validation trigger your relevant processing.
    Cheers

  • 2D Barcode and Adobe Reader

    Dear All,
Could you please help me with the below issue?
I have a pdf form created in Adobe LiveCycle ES2 with 4 text fields and 1 QR code which automatic generated when field valuew changes. I have enabled from adobe Acrobat X Pro the reader rights. When i open from adobe x pro the qr code is working but when i open it from adobe reader and change a field then the qr code changes to grey box.
I want this pdf to send to users without internet access in order to fill it, print it and send it through fax.
    You help is much appreciated.

Could you please show me how to fill barcodedform in Acrobat?
Filling an interactive barcoded PDF form in Acrobat is no different than filling an interactive barcoded PDF form in Reader.
For the records we have bought the Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 Suite which includes Adobe LiveCycle ES2.
Do you mean Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 or the LiveCycle ES2 server suite?
If we buy LiveCycle reader Extensions ES2 does it work to customers without an internet connection?Local. We will provide them a cd with the pdf, they fill it and print it.
If you buy LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2 you can apply rights to the barcoded interactive PDF form to enable the form to be filled and saved locally. If the barcoded interactive PDF form does not have rights applied by LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES, users must use Acrobat for the PaperFormsBarcode to work.

  • Nokia N9 barcode / QR code reader?

Hi. Are there any 2D barcode readers out there for nokia N9. It seems strange to me that I don't see one but I had 2D codes on the wrapping... Or maybe anyone installed mbarcode for Maemo?

I also missed a QR code reader for my N9 - so I started working on one: http://n9development.tumblr.com/post/14272449853/enqry-beta
Currently it's online only (using the ZXing online decoder) but the pictures are only 460x460 and about 20-40kB in size. There are some things to clean up and some missing features but so far it's pretty stable and does it's job rather well. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it up this year for a public beta.

  • Barcode and Read Only Issue

Hi,  I submitted this question in LiveCycle Designer and probably should have posted it here....
I have a form that was imported from a PDF document in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.  I added a 3 of 9 barcode and the Default value is the form number (*1.764903.105NFS*).  I do not want a user to be able to click on the barcode, so I made it Read Only.  When this form is opened in Adobe Acrobat, I'm not able to click on the barcode, however, when this form is opened in Adobe Reader, I'm able to click on the barcode and the value displays (the form number) - which is what I do NOT want to happen. I have added Adobe Reader Extensions and I'm opening the form in Adobe Reader 9.4.
Also having the same barcode issue with forms that are designed in LC Designer.

Uncheck Read Only on the song files in Windows Exploder.

I have scratched off my Itunes code and now cannot read 2 of the digits.  Is there a way to get it using the Card#?

If this page doesn't help then you will need to try contacting iTunes Support (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

  • How to read card reader (bar code reader) in simple java program ?

    hai all
how to manipulate (read/write) card readers (or bar code reader ) in
    a java program ?
should i import any particular package library ?
pls give me any sample code or tutorials or tools, etc (whatever you have) .
i am new to this card reader category
    its very urgent
    thank you .

Nearly all card readers and barcode readers I've ever seen simply stick their input right onto stdin, so you can capture it just as if it had been typed in on a keyboard

  • QR Code reader issues

I've been getting more and more business cards with qr codes on them. I bought a couple of different qr code reader apps, but none of them seem to work. In order to get the code large enough for the code reader to recognize it, I have to hold it so close to the phone that the image gets too blurry to read. If I hold it further away it is clear, but too small for the reader to se the code. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this just an inherent problem with the the whole idea of qr code readers on the phone? Any help or comments will be appreciated.

I'm using the "Barcodes v 1.0" from ZXing, which seems to work rather well. This application is available from the iTunes App Store:

  • USB Barcode Scanner (Adesso) not reading on Mac Mini

My friend bought an inexpensive USB bar-code scanner (Adesso Nuscan 1000U), which they said should work fine in OSX, to use on his Intel Mac Mini, running Leopard 10.5.4.
    Model Name: Mac mini
    Model Identifier: Macmini2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MM21.009A.B00
    SMC Version: 1.19f0
    Serial Number: YM7309F0YL2
After plugging the scanner directly into his computer, it was acknowledged to be an "non-standard" keyboard...
    - the "Keyboard Setup Assistant" window popped up, and he hit continue (instead of closing the window)
    - "Identifying Your Keyboard" came up, and he had hit "z" on his main keyboard (a mistake, he knows now)
    - said scanner will not "print scanned data to screen" as it ought to
    - scanner "goes to sleep" after it scans it's first barcode - does not 'wake' until unplugged and re-plugged into Mini. Never does this on other machines.
    - scanner works perfectly on three other Macs running Leopard (same version on all four machines), both Intel and G4 based
    - I have repeatedly trashed the "com.apple.keyboardtype.plist" file in hopes of re-setting his computer to read this device properly, with no luck - but each time it's trashed and we plug in the scanner it pops up the "Keyboard Setup Assistant" window, which we simply close... like on the other test machines.
I know it's not the scanner itself, as it works fine on all other systems with the same OS. We had simply skipped the "Identifying Your Keyboard" prompts and closed those windows and the device merrily scans barcodes and prints them to any text window - as it should.
Is there a chance that some difference in the Mini hardware would somehow not allow this device to work properly with it? I'm completely stumped. Thanks for any assistance!!
    -ant.

Not to be rude or contrary, but if you read my entire posting, the same unit (usb scanner) works successfully on at least three other machines with different processors running Leopard.
    To further elaborate:
    • manufacturer has been contacted and in touch - they have no idea why it doesn't work on mini
    • no software or drivers - none needed for all the other machines
    • my workaround (deleting .plist file) did nothing except prompt
the computer to ask me what kind of keyboard device it was (none)
Thanks for the effort... and the welcome.

  • Website uses foxpro to produce report with barcode and barcode shows as text instead of barcode

view source code shows the code below
    <pre><nowiki>
    <td><font face="Free 3 of 9 Extended"><font size="7">*16001533779*</font>
    </nowiki></pre>
what must I do to have barcode show as barcode and not text?

You would need to have a font installed to show this barcode if there aren't images used.
face="Free 3 of 9 Extended" specifies that the "Free 3 of 9 Extended" should be used.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
