Barcode configuration

Dear experts,
I am configuring the barcode specifications for the warehouse.We are using the EAN128 for storage unit labels and EAN13
for Storage bin labels.In the configuration i have added these entries in 'Assign Bar Code Types to Warehouse Numbers'
What more configuration required for the above entries? Do i need to copy all the entries of application identifier of EAN128 to EAN13 and make another entry in 'Maintain Bar Code Specification'?
Also can anyone provide me some notes on Barcode configuration ?

Normally this configuration is not necessary for printing storage unit and bin labels. The barcode type (128 etc.) should be specified directly in the SAPscript form. Or you can use a third party label design tool like Bartender (by seagull scientific) to build the forms using simple drag and drop tools and then export the format and upload directly in the SAPscript form, make a few syntax checks and you are ready to go. Configure the output triggers in OLML or OMSU and you are ready to go..

hw can i get     data from barcode into sap. (    suppose barcode contains Matrial number &   batch).

Hi SAP Gurus....
Could you all plz help me to map in SAP..MM..Its very critical need to provide solution to my client ASAP
1.     Client procures two types of products from ABC Dubai namely, A and B products.
2.     The products under warranty are being tracked using Barcodes.
The barcodes are generated at the client place with the Purchase Order and sent to the Vendor by Post or through E-mail.
3.     Barcodes have to be printed in the case of Post, or converted into .PRN file in the case of an E-mail
4.     These barcodes are then pasted on the products as required and shipped back to the Client.
5.     Barcode used currently is EAN 14, code 128.
6.     Client has different Handling Units (HU), like Outer, Inners (smaller carton inside Master carton), and items inside Inner carton. All the three HU has different barcode series. Inners have Master carton number of Pieces have respective Inner carton numbers.
7.     At the time of GR, Masters are scanned, and details up to pieces are collected into system automatically.
8.     All goods movement happens then with barcodes.
Could you all plz tell me how to create the below details....respective of above requirements....

Functional Configuration for Barcode

Dear Experts,
I would like to know about the BARCODE Configuration.
I know that BARCODE can be configured also by Technical Consultant using SAPSCRIPT or SMARTFORMS using the TCode SPAD.
Here, am looking for the configuration which can be done by functionally.
I have searched plenty of documents but I got all about technical details only. Please guide me to configure the BARCODE using functional steps.

Thank you for showing the right path. Here, the configurations are with Warehouse Management. Is it possible to configure without WM module.
The exact scenario is that, we buy products from the subcontractors i.e., trading goods and we sell the same goods using our brand name. So, we need to stick the Barcode sticker on the material and while dispatching end user will deliver the products once he read the Barcode using the scanner. We don't store the products in go down or warehouse.
I hope you understood my scenario.

How to create barcode EAN13 in smartforms?

I want to create EAN13 in smartforms,but in smartforms the EAN13 preview incorrect .
My step is :
1.SPAD, create Device types:ZSWIN (Copied from SWIN).
2.SPAD, create Output Devices ZEAN,Device type is:ZSWIN,Aeecss Method:G,Host Printer:__default
3.SE73,created ZEAN13 by old Bar Code Technology,Bar code Type :EAN13 (UNDEF also try too)
4.SE73,in print Bar Codes ,select ZSWIN device type,add Bar code:ZEAN13, prefix is SBP13,suffix is:SBS01. the SBP13 and SBS01 are in system default for EAN13 print Control.
5. SMARTFORMS,create style ZBAR,create Character Formats C1 used bar code:ZEAN13,also create C2 used bar code:BC_EAN13.
6. SMARTFORMS,create test form :ZTEST,create tow texts,one used the font C1,the other is C2.
Now test run,click Prievew,Select output device:LOCL or ZEAN,the text by font ZEAN13 and BC_EAN13 are also incorrect.
The barcode can not with the text to change.
Above is my step.
Please help me to check which step have problem.

Hi ,
While creating new system barcode form existing barcode, system will ask for create with new technology or create with old technology, in that case you have to select new technology and specify barcode terminology as EAN13. then specify other parameters like modular height and width as per your requirement.
first define style for smartform and then use this system barcode in character format. Again by using this character format, you can able to print element whatever you want in smartform.
Also before printing this newly developed barcode,please confirm with basis that you use correct printer which is already barcode configured.

SAP Configuration for Barcode label printing

Hi Guys,
We have storage bin label with information like ware house number and storage bin in free text area
and need to interpret the barcode based on Application identifiers and print the same on label layout.
Plz help ..Do we need to configure any output determination for this or how do we do this...since I dont have any clue on this requirement.

Hi Pratap,
Check the default settings for "no of copies" during executing the print command. If it shows 1 then you need to make it as 2. To make it as 2,
during the print command,
Go to Properties-->Specifications----->In field name select "No of copies", change the default value to 2 and click on "Copy settings".

Barcodes are not getting Displayed in Smartforms.

In Previous Month barcode was getting displayed in smartforms print Preview. And PDF form is generated successfully. I am not using standard form this is custom.
In Previous month, Service pack SAPKA70023 ABA Support Package 23 & 22 for 7.00 were applied, After that Barcode is not getting displayed for current month. I identified that Barcode Name is not mentioned in smartstyles.
Ther is no transport Request Moved from last one year.
Can any one suggest me there will be any impact on barcodes after service packs

have created some new users and done with the leave request, it comes to backend inbox, but not
visible in portal. Re-configured UWL, but still the task not coming( leave request). For other users it is > coming?
Where have you created these users? Many times it is not enough to create new users in a backend system. You will have to create them in the data source which is used by the UME of your portal or to map this data source with the system where you have created your new users
You can see what data source your portal is using by going to
Portal --> System Administration --> System Configuration --> UME Configuration --> Data Source
If this Data Source doesn´t contain your new users, then UWL wouldn´t be able to show their items.
Here you can check if your user is contained in the data source:
Portal --> User Administration --> choose the right data source --> put in the username --> search
Please check if your users are correctly created.

Issue with display of Barcode in the report output from different Machines

Hi ,
I have developed a BI Publisher report to print barcode on the output.
I have configured the necessary setup in XML Publisher Responsibility
by following the steps
1) Home --> Administration
a) Create Font Files
Uploaded the ttf file
2. Create Font Mapping Set
"Special Fonts"
3.Created font Mapping under the Mapping set of type "Special Fonts"
4.Provided the Value of Font Mapping Set to ‘FO Processing ‘ under Configuration
Font Mapping Set : Special Fonts
The above configuration works fine and I am able to view the Barcode in the output.
Issue : When I try to run the same concurrent porgram from a different PC ,and if I view the output, I am not able to see the barcode.
Please let me know if anyone has faced issue of such kind.
I guess the above cannot be system specific and please let me know where it is going wrong.

I have the font file and I already put it into C:/Windows/Font folder. I just don't have the option to "Create Font Files".
I try to use this code in a xdo.cfg file:

Printing barcode in oracle report 6i in character mode

Hi there,
I am new in oracle reports, especially in printing it in character mode.
I am trying to create a report for ticketing purposes, so I have to put barcode on it.
So far, I did follow this link Printing in character mode (urgent)
and yes, I didn't get it. I been doing this 3 days already and no successful result.
I just don't get the commands in .prt file and how could i integrate it in oracle report 6i.
The printer I use : epson LX-300+
windows OS.
Your help is highly needed, any opinion will do. I just need help that bad.

Barcode printing in XML report PDF output

The steps mentioned in the doc is what i did in order.
I couldn't understand the step # 13 & 14.
Log in as XML Publisher Administrator
Navigate to Administration --> Font Files --> Create Font File
Available fields are Font Name and File
--> for Font Name, choose any descriptive name
--> file will browse your PC to locate the font file
Navigate to Font Mappings -->Create Font Mapping Set
Mapping name is the name you will give to a set of fonts.
Mapping code is the internal name you will give to this set
Type: 'PDF Form' for PDF templates. 'FO to PDF' for all other template types.
Create Font Mapping (this allows you to add fonts to a set)
Font Family is the exact same name you see in MS Word under Font. If you don't use the same name the font will not be picked up at runtime.
Style and weight must also match how you use the font in the RTF or PDF layout template. Normal and Normal are good defaults.
Language and Territory should remain blank (NULL) unless you have a strong business reason, as these fields can cause the font not to be picked up at runtime.
Navigate to Configuration General -> FO Processing -->Font Mapping Set. This can also be done at Data Definition and Template level, via the corresponding Edit Configuration button on those pages. The hierarchy is Site-> Data Def -> Template.
Select your new mapping set.
Make sure the font is not referenced under File --> Properties --> Custom in the RTF template file.
Under General, set a Temporary Directory. The font will be stored under a /fonts directory at runtime, initially created the first time the font is used.
Upload a template that uses your special font and test using preview or by submitting a concurrent request.

How to print Barcode data in Oracle XML Publisher Report

Hi,
We have an rdf report which prints Bar code in the starting page based on a custom procedure from MarkView. It works well with Oracle Reports.
But since the current report was a matrix report, we are changing it to a Linear report through Oracle XML Publisher Report.
We have all the things possible in the new Oracle XML Report.. But we are unable to print the Bar code data which is BLOB in the XML Report..
Can anyone help me on this? We have UAT dates around the corner..

1.    Go to responsibility XML Publisher Administrator
2.    Open Administration
3.    Open Font Files Tab
4.    Create Font File

8.    Go to Font mapping Tab
9.    Open Create Font Mapping Set
10.    Give Mapping Name: XX_BARCODE
11.    Give Mapping Code: XX_BARCODE
12.    Type : FO TO PDF
13.    Apply
14.    Open Tab Create Font Maping
15.    Font Family: Code39-Digits(This name should be exactly the font name comes in word)
16.    Style: Normal
17.    Weight: Normal
18.    Target Font Type: Truetype
19.    Continue
20.    Font : XX_BARCODE
21.    Apply
1.    Go to Template Tab
2.    Query for your template
3.    Open Edit Configuration
4.    Click on FO Processing
5.    In Font Mapping set Give XX_BARCODE
RTF Template (word):
1.Design the RTF template
2.Insert the barcode against reqd field
3.Make sure to put an * before and after the barcode so that scanner understands the beginning and end
Please send your rtf ,xml file if you are still facing issues.

Not able to Display Barcode in PDF

Hi Gurus
I created a BIP report where in I am displaying a barcode in place of PO number. I selected 3 0f 9 barcode. I have a sample output and trying to view the preview in PDF. It is not displaying barcode in PDF format. How ever it is displaying the barcode in rtf, explorer etc. Please help me in solving this. Am I missing any setup after installing Font and BI Publisher desktop..

Are you able to see the bar-code in pdf output in rtf layout (not thru concurrent request submission)?
Please check the following steps and see if you have missed one of these set-ups in XML Publisher administrator:
XML Publisher Administrator-->Administration
Font File--->Give font file name and Browse the bar code (3 of 9 in your case)--->Apply
Font Mapping-->Mapping Name--->Mapping Code
Type--->FO to PDF--->Apply
Open Tab Create Font Maping
Font Family: Code39-Digits(This name should be exactly the font name which comes in word)
Style: Normal
Weight: Normal
Target Font Type: Truetype
Continue
Font : font file name
Apply
Go to Template Tab
Query for your template
Open Edit Configuration
Click on FO Processing
In Font Mapping set :associate your file
Please let me know if you are still unable to view the barcode.
