  • Is it possible to import data values to be used in barcode creation?

I have a list of UPCs in an xml file, and would like to import the data to be converted into barcodes by Designer.  Is this possible?  Could anyone lead me to documentation? Thanks.
    Al

You can import data from an XML file by creating a new data connection and you'll need to use the Paper Forms barcode. Be aware that use of the paper forms barcode requires LiveCycle Barcoded Forms (separate license required, according to the pop up when I place the field in a form). Once you set the data connection it's just a matter of writing a script to sift through the XML values one at a time to get the barcode.

  • HP OJ Pro 8500A not printing barcodes on boarding passes accurately

Recently upgraded to this model. I travel weekly and have never had this problem. Have tried adjusting settings to 'best'quality with no luck. The rest of the print quality is perfect but the barcodes required for scanning have some grey bars / sections in them. Very frustrating as this is such a simple print task.

  • Drive not found in library database

    Greetings.
I'm new to OSB and am having tape drive, volume problems.
File system backups only complete successfully when drive (IBM4_0_0_1_1) is used. When OSB attempts to use other drives in the library it logs the following errors listed in "Transcript".
I'm running OSB (10.4.0.3.0) on a Linux server (Oracle Linux Server release 6.0) with a SL500 library controller by a ACSLS(8.3.0) server.
    Please advise.

    Thanks for your response.
ACSLS is part of the configuration requirements I need to have in this OBS environment.
I'm going to re install OBS just to see if anything changes.
    Thanks again.
    Update:
When configuring devices in OSB that are ACSLS in nature it is a requirement to restart the obacslibd after mkdev or certain chdev commands are preformed.
After the daemon was restarted I was able to use the attached tape drives.

The configuration you have described is not supported. If you want to use a VTL you will need to purchase one from a supported VTL supplier.
OSB does not provide its own VTL.

    Hi,
Functional consultant will do the detailed study about the material movements in the plant. if the industry need the barcode requirement,
Functional consultant is the person who needs implement the barcoding process. he need to all the configuration and if there is any gap then he need to prepare a functional specification and ABAPPER will do the required developement.
Basis intervention is there to have the SAP GUI in barcode reader(GUN).
    Regards,
    Bala

Is your inventory up to date on the library? Do an "obtool inventory -L sl150-lib" and then check your lsvol then try running the job again.
You should not have tapes write protected in the library. OSB manages if tapes are writeable/expired and so on, so that is not necessary if your setup is proper.
    Thanks

  • How to mount drive or library on OSB 10.2.0.3.0

how to mount drive or library on OSB 10.2.0.3.0. My Tape library is DELL TL-2000 with windows 2003 (but the windows identify it as IBM TotalStorage 3575 library and IBM ULT3580-TD3 drive).
The Library and drive are detected by windows and no red or yellow mark on the device manager.
I try to read the user guide but still cannot make them work.
And how to add OSB menu on EM? I already add osb_enabled=true on DRIVE:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\<instance name>\sysman\config\emom.properties but the OSB menu does not appear.
here is some test that i do

  • OSB with HP MSL2024

    Hi
I have a HP MSL2024 library with two tape drives. When I submit two jobs in the OSB home page I see that backups run concurrently:
library MSL2024 in use by obrobotd on rubxyz, process 21569
drive (1) dte1 in use by obrobotd on rubxyz, process 21569
drive (2) dte2 in use by obrobotd on rubxyz, process 21569
but when I login to HP storage msl2024 tape library webpages I see on the system status that always one of the drives is writing. Never both. For example. For a few seconds drive 1 has status writing, the second drive status is idle, for the next few seconds both drives are idle and for the next few seconds first drive is idle and the second is writing. So backups don't run concurrently but in turn and very slow.
What could be the reason of such behavior?? Is a problem with configuration of the OSB or the HP tape library or somthing else??
    thanks for help

  • Trying to setup drive and library

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to get OSB running on a Dell server running RedHat 4. The drive we have connected is a Dell 124T. I have managed to get the linux tar command to succesfully read and write to the tape using /dev/st0. I followed the installation document to the letter (making the obvious changes in settings as needed). When I finally get to the point where using the obtool I can attempt to inventory the library I get the following error message:
unable to open qlm connection - device not found in external table
I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the response. I have already reinstalled OSB twice and each time the devices several times. Here is the output of the lsdev -l command:
