Barcode system in WM

Hi All,
My client  is managing their WH at MM-IM level now they are looking for WM module.
1)They have simple warehouse with 2 storage types.
2)They want to implement bar code system in their warehouse.
Is it possible to meet their requirements with standard SAP WM (without using any third party tool)?
Is it compulsory to plug HHT to PC every time to transfer the data from R/3 to HHT?
Or  by using simple Wifi network?
Kindly guide me in this to get a overview.
Thanks,
Kishore

"SAPConsole and WebSAPConsole
SAPConsole and WebSAPConsole offer a rapid extension of SAP
applications to Windows-based devices. SAPConsole is a DOSstyle
text-based interface that scales the SAP screen down to the
size of the mobile device, and is easy to implement.
WebSAPConsole enables the graphical user interface (GUI) of the SAP screens to be preserved and pushed to the mobile device,
provided the device is running a graphics-capable operating
system. This solution is designed for real-time always-on

  • SAP - XI -Barcode system

    Hi,
I have a requirement. As soon as a new PO gets generated in my SAP ECC the data should flow to a barcode system for some processing.
I would like to know how can i do it with or without XI ...?
    Please help...

    >>As soon as a new PO gets generated in my SAP ECC the data should flow
In WE20 specify the processing mode for the IDoc as Trigger Immediately. This would send the PO soon after the IDoc is created for it.
    >>I would like to know how can i do it with or without XI ...?
let us know more about the barcode system. If it is a SAP system or can understand the iDoc sent by the ECC it can be done without XI. if not XI is required to transform the IDoc message to the format that the barcode system can understand.
    Thanks

    Hi folks,
How to map barcode system into SAP(from SD point of view)
Pls through some light on this issue.

    Hi,
    See the doc
To Create a Bar code prefix:
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.

It will give an idea about barcode commands.

    Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    a barcode printer
    a barcode reader
    a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.
    regards,
    Siddharth.

  • How to avoid the duplicate receipts in SAP and Barcode system

    Hi Everyone
We are using SAP ECC 5.0.Our receving is done by bar code system and it updates the SAP system. We have two separate database systems  one for Bar code systems and  another for SAP. Sometimes  while receiving RFID scanner shows material is not received or failed  and we have to receive it manually in the SAP system. Sometimes barcode system might have received but it is displayig error message, material receipt failed and we enter manually in the SAP and it becomes duplicate and creating inventory problems. Is there anyway we can fix this problem like while receving manually in the SAP system it should alert or pop message like material already received. What change we need to do in the configuration side.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • Issues with AR Invoice form after sending barcode and tab data to PC

    Hi,
We have a barcode system to scan ItemCodes and send 5 x tabs 'keypresses' to the checkout users PC.
This basically populates all the required fields on the AR Invoice row and jumps down to the next row ready for the next barcode.
We have recently upgrading to 8.8, and we have developed an annoying issue.  Intermittently, the PCs not behaving as expected.  Here are some of the bad results we have experienced:
    1. The barcode scan is done, but the tabs being sent to the PC are not registered..  The PC just sits there with the cursor at the end of the (populated) ItemCode box without recognising that tabs have been sent
    2. The barcode scan is done and the ItemCode box is populated as expected.  However SAP has not processed all the expected tabs and the cursor remains one of the next few fields awaiting user input.
    3. As above the barcode scan is done and the ItemCode box is populated as expected.  However SAP has not processed all the expected tabs.  Also, the cursor is not present within the current 'selected' field - it seems to have almost lost focus from the fields on the form.  Note: the SAP window remains the active Window.
All of this means that the processing of Invoices is being delayed as tabs are not being processing and form focus is being lost.
The form settings are correct as they are unchanged from being working to suddenly stopping working.  The issue is occasionally resolved by a reboot of the client PC in question.
Is this a known issue in 8.8?  If not, is this most likely to be caused by display issues or SAP 8.8 not being able to handle the receipt of tab commands in such quick sucession?
Any pointers or comments from your experience would be appreciated.
    Regards
    OB

Which patch level are you using as this should be fixxed. I would also look if there are any conflicts with the add-ons as there some major changes in the SDK.

    Hi ,
While creating new system barcode form existing barcode, system will ask for create with new technology or create with old technology, in that case you have to select new technology and specify barcode terminology as EAN13. then specify other parameters like modular height and width as per your requirement.
first define style for smartform and then use this system barcode in character format. Again by using this character format, you can able to print element whatever you want in smartform.
Also before printing this newly developed barcode, please confirm with basis that you use correct printer which is already barcode configured.
    Hope this works for you.........
    Thanks..........

Good morning everyone,The owner of the company has given me a task to achieve in a very short time frame with a subject I have never worked with in the past so I am hoping that you might have some suggestions for me that would do what he is asking of me.What we have is a custom Access database that we are using for internal information tracking from everything from orders/invoicing/inventory/sales/etc. And we also use QuickBooks Enterprise for our accounting. The server is located in another country since we are a global company and users connect to the server via remote desktop connection on a term server. What he is looking for is a way for us to be able to incorporate a barcode system into our warehouse that works with both QuickBooks Enterprise edition and our custom written database. Something that would use a portable handheld...

    I'd recommend this:
    QuickMark v3.3 barcode reader
We've used it a couple of times under Windows Mobile. I've got to warn you though, it doesn't work like a regular barcode scanner though. The speed isn't there.  We make a barcode font for use with Windows and Macintosh word processors. Take a look. Let me know if if can be of help.

  • Qty withdrawn issue

We do the goods issue mvt 261 through MB1A. But it's done through the external barcode system.
The issue is after we did the goods issue qty withdrawn is still 0 in the BOM screen. It remains 0 even after we close the production orders. Because of this error our production orders always show the open qty for material.
Please help me how I can fix this problem.
    Thanks
    Vijaya

    Vijaya,
Looks like there is a problem with the way the Bar code reading is done and updated for GI. There are two methods of GI possible,
    1. With referance to Production order and reservation combination. This is also known as planned goods Issue. With this type withdraw quantity is updated in the order. <b>This is performed by clicking the "To order" function button in the inital screen</b>, and here we input the order or reservation as referance and enter. System copies with the component list based on the Orderand reservation.
    2. The other option is that you can also Issue components to order directly, but without referance to the reservation. This is known as unplanned Issue. <b>In this case generally we enter the plant/storage location/movement type/dates and by using "Enter" in key board we go to the components list and here we enter the order referance</b>.
In your case the program(hope it is a custom program) is designed to work to perform the goods issue as described by me in option 2. You need to ask the ABAP person to recode the program to work like option 1.

  • How to call a package in a trigger

I have package that is called via a "Submit" in a from used to enter daily production. We are implementing a barcoding system that will automatically populate the tables behind this form (one header and one line level table). I need to write a trigger or something that fires up the code behind the 'Submit' process whenever these tables are updated.
Is there a way to do this by calling the package in a trigger?
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Edited by: asgar_amin on Feb 3, 2009 10:50 AM

I'm not quite sure what your requirement is.
Do you want to know which forms-trigger you can use to call your submit-package, or do you want to know how to call the submit-package from a database-trigger?
If the second one, it depends on what parameters your package-procedur/function gets as IN-parameters. Is it the ID of the header-record, the detail-record or no parameter at all.
Depending on that you could either use a AFTER-STATEMENT-trigger on either Header or lines-tables, or if you have to gather the ids a combination of a BEFORE-STATEMENT, an AFTER-INSERT FOR EACH ROW and an AFTER-STATEMENT-trigger.
To go more into detail, please provide some more information.
