Bare Metal Deployments: The BMC can't have IP Address defined in logical network?

I have defined a logical network, a logical switch, and a port profile.  I apply the logical switch (the NIC teaming settings) and a virtual network adapter that inherits the hosts network configuration (pass through config. no software defined networking)
to each of my Hyper-V hosts successfully.
The issue occurs once I have defined that logical network, I can no longer deploy bare metal hosts because the BMC obtains an IP within that logical network.  You see the BMC IPs and NICs are on the same subnet/VLAN.
What's the best practice or perhaps best method to get around this issue?

I am not sure if I follow you on this one.
You have created a logical network for your BMC in VMM? If so, why have you done that?
The bare-metal process requires both PXE and
DHCP during this process, and the scope should therefore be in DHCP and not VMM for this purpose.
Can you try to do that? (If this is a lab environment, you could add the DHCP service to your PXE server or even VMM server).

  • Can I get my wife and my phones to synch to the same iMac, but have different address books - when synching we keep ending up with all the contacts on both phones...

Can I synch 2 phones to the same iMac, but have different address books?

If you and your wife have separate user accounts on the Mac, then each of you will have separate libraries to sync. You can them maintain separate address books, calendars, apps, etc.

  • Can I have two address books on one computer

    Hi,
I have my standard address book I use and love. I am an artist and forever having to make slide labels. I have used many programs and databases to do this task. To my surprise address book would accomplish this amazing well. I just don't want to combine my art label information with my address stuff? So can I have two address files on one mac?
    cc

    CC,
you can add a new user account on your Mac (open system preferences / accounts) and start fresh there with an empty AddressBook.
If you want to fill this with a part of your original AB, select those and export as vCards. Drop this export file in your shared folder so you can access that from the new user account. Open AB ther and import the vCards

While in the Address Book press the Menu and than Options. Just type in RSET
(capital letters) and you'll be able to wipe out all your Desktops where the
Wireless synchronization is Not available. You can keep intact the last Desktop
where the Wireless Synchronization is Yes.

  • SSL Required but Microsoft says the directory can't have SSL enabled?

I am confused? iPhone is requiring an SSL connection to the Exchange server, however, Microsoft's KB's are saying the Exchange directory that OMA and ActiveSync talks to cannot have SSL enabled, which means the iPhone will be attempting to sync through port 80?
How are we suppose to use this technology with SSL, if the Exchange directory is configured for non-SSL connections. They are even going as far as telling you to set up a secondary virtual Exchange directory with SSL disabled, leaving WebAccess connections SSL enabled...

    Mr Upson wrote:
But, I am still confused, why would Apple enable SSL to an option that Microsoft is not even allowing to begin with? If the virtual directory cannot have SSL enabled, why would Apple think differently?
ActiveSync has allowances for SSL for certain components of access. I don't know which parts, but I can assure you that all phones that I have ever dealt with (most of those being windows mobile based) have SSL as the default checked option while configuring
I had a full bar of power this morning that was charged over night and with Active Sync enabled for my Calendar and Contacts, I am now at 10% battery life.
This has become more of a problem than a solution....
I would have no idea what would be causing that. I have full push services on for both exchange (everything synced) alsong side of MobileMe. Now I don't use SSL, but all that does is force communications over a different port - I seriously doubt that usage of data differs weather or not SSL is used or not. I can tell you that I do not experience the same type of drain you describe unless you are heavily using things like you tube other services over WI-Fi.

The number of contacts is limited by the number of connections that you can have through the Network Address Translation Table. NAT for short. I am assuming you mean peer to peer and not Plug N Play PnP. There have been many router complaints regarding the NAT table being to small. Use the search feature at the top of the forums page and search for NAT. Other option is use your own router that is not supported by Verizon. Your ONT would need to be setup for Ethernet and if you have TV the Actiontec would need to be connected to your router. Remember custom router configurations are not supported by Verizon residential FIOS. There have been loads of postings about how to use your own router.

  • "The operation can't be completed....re networking mac to pc xp pro

Good evening - I am new to this forum and indeed to macs so please have patience!! I have just bought (from a friend) a Macbook 13" 2.16 ghz to see if I can "work with" macs. This after some 35 years with MS dos 2.1 + unix + windows 3 / 3.5 / 95 / 98 / 2000 and now windows xp on a compaq laptop. Not a willing horse "dragged to water"!
So far - love it! Now the difficult bit, as an inveterate hoarder of all my emails, documents etc etc I need to network my pc and mac book to evaluate the mac experience before making the deciding decision to become Mac all over!! So here we go:
I have the same log in names and passwords on my mac and on my pc. In +"my network places"+ I can see the "Documents" folder on the local network and the "username" on "Macbook" plus the public Folder on "Macbook".
When logged into the PC from there I can access these folders with no problem and from the pc transfer files from the pc to the mac and from the pc - from the mac to the pc - all super swimmingly! Sharing is "on" on the pc.
    So far so good.
We then come to the mac. On the hard disk I can see the p.c. - I can connect to the p.c. as "Guest" (if guest is logged on the p.c.) or (when the registered user is logged on to the pc) as the registered user detailed above i.e username and password filled out on Mac by hitting the "connect as" button.
Having done that I am connected as: "Guest" Not quite sure why but I am connected.
I can see the p.c. "documents" folder on the mac but in whatever mode I am connected (as guest when guest is logged on to the p.c. or as registered user when the registered user is logged on to the p.c.). when I click on it and try to open it I get the following message:
*+“The operation can't be completed because the original item for Documents can't be found."+*
I have sharing enabled on the mac as follows:
Printer Sharing = everyone can print
File sharing = registered user can read and write everyone can read only plus the boxes for "share files and folders using AFP" (number of users connected: 0) and "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows)" The registered user account also has a tick in the box on the left of the registered user name.
So can anyone tell me please "what have I done wrong?"

Well, try this (I was able to fix my with these steps):
    Go Utilities > Disk Utility
Select your Startup Disk, e.g. Macintosh HD
Then, under the First Aid Tab, click Verify Disk Permissions.
If there are errors, then click repair Disk Permissions.
After it is done, restart the computer and see if your problem is resolved.
    I hope this help.

So I am trying to use EF 6 with the AdventureWorks database to build out some web api services.
Everything was going well until I added the EmployeeDepartmentHistory table and then I keep getting the  "The entity "EmployeeDepartmentHistory' does not have a key defined."

    <NavigationProperty Name="Shift" Relationship="AdventureWorks2012Model.FK_EmployeeDepartmentHistory_Shift_ShiftID" FromRole="EmployeeDepartmentHistory" ToRole="Shift" />
    </EntityType>
Please help I've been stuck on this for days. I've tried deleting it and re-adding it but to no avail.

EmployeeDepartmentHistory and this table itself has a primary key on it?

  • Mail and Address Book: Can I have 2 Address Books?

Is there any way to have two completely different "address books" on one computer? I would like to keep two entirely unrelated ones for my husband and myself; and I don't want to make two groups.

well, you could create another user account on that mac and have an address book with contacts for you on your user account and an address book with contacts for your husband on the other user account, and then toggle back and forth between user accounts.
    hope this helps

  • My iphone synced and on the bar( that shows the gigs) says i have all my music in my phone but when i look at my phone none of my music is there...

I had a bunch of CD's i put in on my itunes and wanted to put it in my phone but it didn't work and swiped all my music previously that has been on my phone.  I dont know how to fix this and dont know how to sync my music in.  I keep syncing and it says on the bar where it separates (other, audio, video, etc) that my audio is sync with all my music but when i look in my library it has none of the music that has supposedly synced.  Please help me.

This can happen if iTunes gets confused about what is and isn't on the device. These steps should resolve.
    Backup the device.
    Restore as a new device.
    Restore the backup made earlier.

  • CD won't eject. Some kind of bar is in the way. I have no money no warranty

I am trying to eject a disk but there is a small vertical bar in the center of the slot. I probed it with a library card as I tried to eject it. There is a small wall behind the vertical bar/pin that lowers and tries to let the CD out but the pin doesn't get out of the way. The CD comes up and tries to go out but just rams into this vertical bar/pin. It then gives up and goes backdown to remount. I've seen lots of topics about stuck cd's but they seem to be software problems. Tell me more about the credit card fix.
    Ibook G$   Mac OS X (10.3.6)

When i last opened it I accidentally switched the short screw over the drive under the keyboard with a much longer one. That was the "bar" in the way. I had impaled the drive. I removed the screw and now everything is fine in and out.
