Barely fumbling though site creation...HELP!!!

Question

Okay, so here's the deal. Slowly but surely we're trying to
create a website using Dreamweaver MX 2004. Now I'm trying to
upload the pages and on the images an error message comes up:
"An FTP error occurred-cannot put Image.gif. Access denied.
The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem."
I don't understand what's happening here, and I am unable to
find an FAQ answer to it. The images are a combination of my own
and some free ones taken from the internet. Soooooo, what do I do
now????
Please help me!!!
