Hi,
I have scheduled some jobs in Oracle Enterprise Manager job console. ( These jobs call a PL/SQL procedure). Can you please let me know what are the base tables which store this job names, job schedule and other job information?. The database version is Oracle 9i and OEM version is 9.0.2
Thank you
Rk

Insert records into non base table
Hi
I would like to insert records into a table when a button is clicked. The table is a non base table. I am trying to save records displayed in a form into a history table which is not part of the form. I am using the following code stored in a program unit then called when the button is pressed. It doesn't generate any error but the records are not inserted. Can anyone please help.
hist_id := 1;
cust_name := :CUSTOMER.cust_name;
loan_date := :LOAN.loan_date;
return_date := LOAN.return_date;
FORMS_DDL('INSERT INTO LOAN_HISTORY VALUES'||hist_id||','||cust_name||','||loan_date||','||return_date);Why do you need forms_ddl built in for a DML statement to be used in form?
U can directly use insert.
hist_id := 1;
cust_name := :CUSTOMER.cust_name;
loan_date := :LOAN.loan_date;
return_date := LOAN.return_date;
INSERT INTO LOAN_HISTORY VALUES (hist_id,cust_name,loan_date,return_date);
It should work perfectly. -
Usage of attribute1 field of base table as a text field in OA Page
Hi Gurus,
Could you please let me know if attribte1 field of an oracle base table can be used as a simple text or LOV input field in OA Page, NOT as a DFF Field.
Thanks in advance.
With warm regards,
SKAIn my case, Attribute1 is reserved for DFF. But I have to use it with a Text Input Item. OA page is showing the value stored for attribute1 in database. But it doesn't store the value in Database through OA Page. I am able to save other fields of the same VO through same OA Page, but not attribute1.
Is it because attribute1 is registered with DFF or some other reason??
Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

Base table name for fields from Material Master
Hi All,
I want base table name which holds all possible values of following column:
1)Material Master : X-plant matl status from tab -basic data 1
2)Material Master: X-distr.chain status from tab -sales org 1
for example: Base table for Prod.hierarchy is T179/T179T.
Many thanks to all
YogeshThanks Mahesh but I know its value available in MARA table for eery material. But i want to know where all possible distinct values are stored?... In other word, when we click on button which is next to this field and from that list we normally select value and then assign to above fields. Where this list is stored for
X-plant matl status

Calculated non-base table field in a tabular form
I am struggling with creating a non-base table calculated field in a tabular form in ApEx 3.1
Can you point me in the right direction
I thought this would be fairly easy to do, but I cant work out how to do it
Requirements
1) Tabular Form based on a table with QTY and PRICE columns
2) TOTAL is a non-base table field, based on QTY * PRICE
3) If the Qty or Price changes, the TOTAL should be re-calculated
Example
QTY PRICE TOTAL
=== ===== =====
3 5 15
10 50 500
20 3 60
Environment
ApEx 3.1, Oracle 10 and Oracle 11 databases
I recommended to upgrade to a newer version of ApEx but the request was rejected so Im stuck with 3.1Thanks, but its not the solution that I am after
I am looking for a solution that will ...
1) not require the calculated value TOTAL to be stored in the table
and 2) re-calculate the TOTAL when I modify the dependent values (QTY and PRICE) before I save the changes to the database
I am still looking for a solution if anyone can help -
Ordering a block by a non-base table field
Hello,
I have heard you can order your block by a
non-base table field by using a stored function. Does anyone know how to do this?
LisaIn a WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM user have to press ENTER or TAB key too !!
anyway he have to press something.
KEY-NEXT-ITEM and KEY-PREVIOUS-ITEM is a good choice.
You can create a timer who fire each second, verify that user enter something new in the field (by comparing old and new value), then do execute_query -
Hello,
ADF 11g,
Are there any ADF Base tables which stores any of data while running simple web application built with ADF11g components? For eg : In Oracle SOA , all the instances , messages will be stored on their own database tables like CUBE_INSTANCE, etc..Similarly are there any tables for ADF as well ?
ThanksADF uses two internal tables (PS_TXN and PS_TXN_SEQ) to serialize user session state to the database, if that answers your question.

Order by on a non-base table field
I want to order by on a non-base table field in a form. Can any body help how to do this in a form.
ThanksRamesh,
I am not sure of ver 4.5. But in v6i, I did something similar.
What I did was :-
1. Based the Block's datasource on a stored procedure and
not TABLE
I'm not sure if it can be achieved in 4.5. First check if the block data source can be based on a stored procedure.
Here's a sample code of what i did :-
/* Description : Using a stored procedure as a block datasource.
Author : Shailender Mehta
Create Or Replace PACKAGE my_datasource Is
/* Shailender Mehta */
TYPE outrec is RECORD (comp_id tbgp_gl_detail.comp_id%Type
,cc_id tbgp_gl_detail.cc_id%Type
,journal_no tbgp_gl_detail.journal_no%Type
,account_code tbgp_gl_detail.account_code%Type
,debit_amt tbgp_gl_detail.debit_amt%Type
,credit_amt tbgp_gl_detail.credit_amt%Type
,sort_order Number(1)
TYPE outcur is REF CURSOR RETURN outrec;
PROCEDURE outquery (resultset In Out outcur
,p_journalno In Number);
END;
Create Or Replace PACKAGE BODY my_datasource IS
PROCEDURE outquery(resultset In Out outcur
,p_journalno In Number)
Is
BEGIN
OPEN resultset FOR
SELECT comp_id
, cc_id
, journal_no
, account_code
, debit_amt
, credit_amt
, Decode(substr(account_code,6,1), 'g', 1,
'd', 2,
'b', 3,
'h', 4,
'f', 5,
'a', 6,
'c', 7, 8) sort_order
FROM tbgp_gl_detail
WHERE journal_no = p_journalno
ORDER BY 7;
END;
END;
Use the Block Data Wizard, which will guide you step by step what next to be done.
In my example, I'm sorting the resultset by the 6th character of the string Account Code.
In your case, you could join the main table by the one used in your POST-Query in the stored procedure and sort the resultset.

Fast growing Basis tables....
Hi,
I have bees using one note 706478 to find out the measure against fast growing basis tables. I use this for R/3. Is there any note like this for BW and CRM as well. I search OSS but could not come up with any solid note.
Does anybody knwo abot this? Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance to everybody.
Thanks for the help.There are several factors to consider. For example:
- Is the table a TimesTen only table or is it a cached Oracle table using AWT to push the inserts down to Oracle?
- How long does the data need to be retained? Forever, for 1 hour, for 1 minute...
If the table is an AWT cached table from Oracle then the inserted data ultimately ends up in Oracle. It is therefore likely that you can safely discard some data from TimesTen to prevent the datastore filling up. You can do this using the automnatic aging feature in TT 7.0 or you can implemnent it as a periodic UNLOAD CACHE GROUP statement executed from a script or from application code.
If the table is a TimesTen only table then in addition to the above you need to consider if you can just discard 'old' data or if you have to keep it somewhere. If you need to keep it then you will first need to copy it out of TT before it gets deleted. In this case aging is probably not a good solution and you should implement some application mechanism to copy the data somewhere else and then delete it. If you do not need to keep the data then aging may still be an option.
In any event, you will want to give yourself as much headroom as possible by making the datastore as big as you can subject to available memory etc. If you use aging, you will likely have to configure very aggressive aging parameters in order to keep the table size under control. It is possible that aging may not be up to the job if the insert rate is extremely high in which case you may anyway need to implement some application based cleanup mechanism.

RST_CHANGE# , FIRST_TIME from GV$LOG where inst_id = USERENV(’Instance’)
SQL> select view_definition
2 from v$fixed_view_definition where view_name=’GV$LOG’;
VIEW_DEFINITION
select le.inst_id, le.lenum, le.lethr, le.leseq, le.lesiz*le.lebsz, ledup, decod
e(bitand(le.leflg,1),0,’NO’,'YES’), decode(bitand(le.leflg,24), 8, ‘CURRENT’,
16,’CLEARING’, 24,’CLEARING_
CURRENT’, decode(sign(leseq),0,’UNUSED’, decode(sign((to_number(rt
.rtckp_scn)-to_number(le.lenxs))* bitand(rt.rtsta,2)),-1,’ACTIVE’,'INACTI
VE’))), to_number(le.lelos), to_date(le.lelot,’MM/DD/RR HH24:MI:SS’,'NLS_CALENDA
R=Gregorian’) from x$kccle le, x$kccrt rt where le.ledup!=0 and le.lethr=rt.rtnu
m and le.inst_id = rt.inst_id

ORA-01776: cannot modify more than one base table through a join view
I have created EO based on a database view than consists of two tables, and only one is updateable.
When I try to update a row using EO, I got a following message: "ORA-01776-cannot modify more than one base table through a join view"
In Forms, this issue is resolved by setting "Query Only" property of non-updateable items to "True".
Is it possible to do something like that in ADF BC?
ThanksThanks for answer.
When I set "updateable" property to "Never", that attribute is protected from any change.
I'm sorry for incomplete usecase.
I have set up a list of value on that attribute, because it is a lookup field for another table and I need to get an ID from that table.
Basically, I need that attribute to be updateble for BC, but not for database.
