Base URL on selecting "Favorites (Browser)" button from EP

Hello Everyone,
The "Favorites (Browser)" button that appears almost in every cProjects view is giving the backend base URL but not the portal URL when accessing cProjects from EP. Is there any way that this can be changed, so that it gives the relevant links. Please let me know if you require any further information on this issue. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your reply. We have actually noticed this issue in two other areas like "Link to the Sub Project" and "Operation Project" button that appears in the toolbar when a task opened from the task dashboard! It is strange that SAP has not done anything to dynamically create the URL when cProjects is being access from Portal!

Is there any way to open a new URL on the same window on a Java desktop application? (Changing the URL on the current browser window without opening a new one, I mean).

You can do that by using an add-on such as:

Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

Is there any way of removing the browser buttons from the right click menu?

Recently when I right-click on a web page, there are browser buttons (forward, backward, refresh, bookmarks) on the right-click menu for some inexplicable reason. I mean, its kind of absurd that anyone would put browser buttons there, considering the real browser buttons literally right there at the top of the window, and I guess that kinda bugs me.
Anyway, how did I get rid of them? There doesn't seem to be any way to do so in the customize window, and I've been looking for an add-on but don't really know what to search for. Does anyone know?
Where did those come from anyway? They weren't there a week ago, and I'm pretty sure these things don't normally just pop up out of nowhere. If nobody knows, its really not important. The important thing is getting rid of them. Thanks!

That was a new feature in Firefox 32, which was released back in September. Use this UserStyle to get rid of those buttons and restore the text menu items.

From browse button of input type=file, can I show the content of a file

Hi all,
I am using, input type=file, where browse button appears. I am having a text area. My requirement is after I select the browse button, I need to show the content of the file in the text area. As of now I 've handled by having another button 'show', which should be pressed after browse done. But, How to handle it in the browse button itself, how will I get that action event from browse button. Plz help.

Opening a URL in a new browser window

Hello Experts,
I am trying to open a dynamic url in a new browser window from a Portal application (travel and expenses). Basically, when a user clicks on the submit button, Badi IF_EX_TRIP_WEB_CHECK~USER_CHECK_CHANGES is called. In the BaDI, we have added code to concatenate a parameter to a url and then open a new browser window with that url. This works perfectly in r/3 using a tcode (pr_web_1200) but when I use the portal application under ESS, the window does not open and no error message is issued. We are using METHOD cl_gui_html_viewer->detach_url_in_browser. Any idea why this is not working through ESS in Portal? Is there some other method that we need to use? Any help is appreciated.

for iView (page) you probably set the property 'Launch in New Window' to value Display in Separate Window. To tune up the other otions you have the possibility to set the property Window Features, value should contain toolbar=no. These features will be used when Javascript opens up your window - you can apply any option coomonly documented. IMHO for your demands the best option is fullscreen=yes,toolbar=no - you get really the maximum possible size.

Detect if time/date browse button was used

Hi,
I have a position control vi for indexing elements inside array and displaying corresponding time and date. I have large number of control signals inside my block, but I have removed all irrelevant blocks and signal for this discussion. I have replaced all unnecessary controls with constant values, so don't waste time analyzing it.
If you take a look at my vi, you will see Star/Stop control, Position control and a time stamp indicator (Waveform time) with a time/date browse button from another time stamp control. I have all desired functionalities, but I have problem when using browse button for setting up time. I can't set my time two times in a row at same value because I'm comparing "Last entered time stamp" value with current one just entered. I would not like to completely change my blocks because I'm using a lot of property nodes and variables inside my project. I'm just looking for a way to figure out if time/date browse button has been pressed so I could jump to desired point in my recorded waveform.

I can't change Waveform Time Indicator to a Control because that would make other controls much complex (not shown in attached vi)
I have modified my block to the simplest form. I have changed some control names.
There is now only one problem - how can I detect if user has pressed time/date browse button? I'm not interested at this point which value has been entered.
I need to replace User has entered value in Jump to time/date with some kind of Boolean logic or event case.

Remove "display in external browser" button

Hello, I'm working on setting up OHJ for my company and I was wondering if there is any way to remove the "display in external browser" button from the viewer window.
We would use the help class instead since it doesn't have this button, but we need the ability to link to pdf's and that only seems available in viewer. Also I want to remove the button because we store our help files in jar's and for some reason the "display in external browser" only works with help files that are not in jar's.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, there's a problem with the combination of 6.7.1 and Java 7 javadocs. Java 6 docs work for me. I posted to the NB Users forum a week ago, but no response. Here's the post. Add to it and bump it, maybe someone has more info.

For your issue, you need to deploy a farm solution using HideCustomAction to hide site settings link. For example to hide “Title, description, and logo” link you can use below code:

How to "select a Directory" from Browse button

Hi all,
I am new to Swing API.
All I want is to create a TextField and a Browse button.
User has to select a directory from Browse button and upon selection of the directory and clicking OK, the directory should be placed into TextField.
Hope this is not new............

Take a look at JFileChooser. You can build a JFileChooser instance that will allow the user to select DIRECTORIES_ONLY (hint, take a look at the constants), it should do the trick ... (even though it's pretty ugly alright)

Getting the file path from a File browse button

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to extract the whole file path (not just the file name) from a file which is selected using a file browse button?
I am trying to save the file path as text in my database (I don't want to upload the file). I have linked the file browse object to a table field in the database. But when entered in the database, all I get is a series of random characters, followed by the file name. I would like to have the complete file path instead.

I've placed the java script into the head of the page, but unsure as to how to change the taget url for my submit button from doSubmit('SUBMIT') to doPrepareAndSubmit('SUBMIT'). In fact I don't actually have a submit button, but a save new record (which performs an SQL INSERT into the database using the values contained in the fields on the page) or a update record buttons instead.
I'm sorry but my knowledge of java scripts is not very good either.
How do I do the follwoing?: if your submit button has not any target set its target to url:
javascript: doPrepareAndSubmit('SUBMIT')

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?

Need Browse button on the PeopleSoft Page to select destination path

Basically iam working with dowloading the resumes from peoplesoft tables on to the user local machine. For this i need to put a browse button on the page so that the user can select the output directory path (e.g D:\Temp\Resumes\).
I already tested to download the resume using GetAttachment function which gets written to my ftp file server. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think you need to use DetachAttachment instead of GetAttachment. From PeopleBooks:
Use the DetachAttachment function to enable a user to make a copy of an attached file on their local client system. The file is sent to the browser with appropriate HTTP headers to cause the browser to display a save dialog box to the user.

PT 8.51 installation issue - Insert New Media (Disk2) from browse button

Hi,
I'm trying to install PT 8.51 on win, I extract disk1, disk2 & disk3 on PS_INSTALL directory.
The install from disk1 is well-done, to get extract from disk2 i use the browse button, the PT installer didn't get it.
Message "Please insert the New media ....."
Any help would be welcome

What is the exact folder path you're extracting things to? I know that the setup.bat file in the disk1 directory doesn't like spaces in the path to the directory. If you extract the disk 1, disk 2 and disk 3 in for example C:\PSINSTALL\disk1 (and disk 2 etc.) you should be able to run the setup.bat. When you run the setup.bat you don't have to select the next disk, the installation will pick it up automatically.
If you still want to select it manually I think you have to select the parent folder instead of the disk 2 or 3. If you select the disk 2 or 3 folder the installation will not pick it up for some strange reason.
