Basic ?: application name and URL

I have a basic question. The web.xml file has one name for an application. If a war file is named something else, that seems to affect the URL you have to use. WHat is the relation between 1) the app name given in the web.xml file and 2) the file name of hte war, for the URL you need to use to run the application? Thanks.

the name in the web.xml can be used for backend purposes, it's a bit obsolete. The context path in the META-INF/context.xml file is the actual context name that will be used. If you don't have a context.xml file, the name of the directory inside the webapps directory will be used. I don't see how the name of the war file has anything to do with it.

Does anyone know how to extract BizTalk application name and URI using WMI (C#)?

Above code will only get you the application status or application collection class not the Application NAME(S). To get name of the BizTalk application, you
need to use “Name” property of
ExplorerOM.Application
You cannot get BizTalk application name using WMI. Because Application concepts was first introduced in BizTalk 2006 onwards and WMI class to access the BizTalk
was introduced in BizTalk 2004 and WMI classes were not updated after that.
But as suggested you can use
ExplorerOM
to access the BiZtalk application name. Following will get you the list of applications in a string. You can update it to get the specific application or
list of applications as shown below.

Biztalk 2004 application name and resources

I'm new to biztalk 2004 and I have no idea where to find my application name and my resources on the Biztalk Server Administration?
I can only see my orchestration, send ports and receive locations!

Please note that support for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 ran out ages ago. You and/or your customer(s) should seriously consider upgrading.

Is there a way to make sure that when a user is accessing
data in SQL via a CF template, that the application name in
Application.cfm is displayed as part of an sp_who query? This would

I don't understand what you are asking, I don't know enough
about
ASP.net to get your reference.
But you can access that applicaiton name with
#application.applicationName# if that helps.

Run preclone, change the hostname at the OS level and in the hosts file then run postclone.

Bookmark names and URLs mixed up

Upgraded to 4.0.1 and now all my bookmarks are shifted over one name. For example, I had Yahoo and Amazon next to each other on the bookmark toolbar, in that order left to right. Now, when I click the Yahoo bookmark, I get the link to Amazon...and when I click Amazon, I get the link to the Orioles homepage, which is the 'name' of the bookmark to the right of Amazon. Not to mention, I have about 8 that are missing completely from the toolbar. I really don't want to have to go back to rename all my dang bookmarks. (It is like this in the drop down list as well as on the bookmark toolbar.)

Never heard of that happening. But problems with bookmarks have been provided for to a limited extent, by having some bookmark backups available even for people that don't backup.
In your profile are 5-10 bookmark backups try restoring to an earlier date.
"Ctrl+Shift+B" (show all bookmarks) > Import and Backup > Restore > choose date the problem occurred or the day before, if that doesn't work try the next day back.
The Restore is done by Firefox with Firefox up and running , a restore goes very fast.
Backups are taken once a day early in the day.
FWIW, you should also have your own backups of your user data from all applications external disk drives are cheap. Backing up your Firefox profile would easily fit on a thumb drive. But you really should be backing up all user data youself.

Domain name and URL

Hi, i need help again.Now the domain name "www.edadecorationetarchitecture.com" is now available and i can use it or transfer it but when i publish my website there is this message : "The requested URL /index.html was not found on this server." My new URL is "www.edadecorationetarchitecture.eu" and not "www.edadecorationetarchitecture.com" anymore. What can i do to transfer the old URL to the new one without changing my new domain name or the new one i paid for 3 years.

I am moving from .com to .eu .But Muse keep the ".com" when i want to publish my website and when i want to create the other one, there's an other adress like "edadecorationetarchitecture.worldsecuresystems.com" or "edadecorationetarchitecture.businesscatalyst.com" and i don't want this. Since your URL is dynamic and there is a chance that the protocol is https, it is better to use SOAP Receiver Adapter instead.
Make sure that you check Do not use SOAP Envelope to make it behave like a Plain HTTP Receiver.

The biggest 'concern' in my shop is 'separation of concerns'. The UI group reports up to a different IT head, the DB group reports up to a different IT head and so on. The looser the coupling between these systems, the lesser the project costs (Integration, QA etc) are. How to get Application name of a current running process in LiveCycle??

Hi,
I want to get the Application name of current running process in LiveCycle as a output value.
I have 3 applictions, the 3 applications are calling same SubProcess, so I want get the name of the application from which the sub process has been called.
I want to retrieve the Application name and asssign this value to a output variable.
I have searched for the solution I found a method getApplicationName() but inorder to get the current running process's Application Name this might not be useful..
So suggest the way to resolve this..

Use an input/output string variable in the subprocess and set its value in each calling process as respective Application name.

After you created a web application with a custom host name, if you got a prompt for the user and you may face the following issues:
There is continuous prompt for the credentials
HTTP 401.1 error
This shows that there is a problem with the Loopback configuration. This situation should occur only when we access the application from the server machine.
For fixing the problem, we have to disable the Loopback value inside the registry.Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and locate the following key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa, and create a new Key Value of type DWORD inside
it and set the value to 1.
