Basic basics of PP and its hijacking Bridge
I just got this program and looked at some tutorials, and some of the other things about getting started, overview, basics etc. This is my first version. Unlike with other programs that have manuals or built in help, I have been unable to find anything that starts at the very beginning, explaining what you see when you first look at the screen -panels, menus etc. Everything immediately seems to assume you know all this already and goes to more advanced stuff.
Then my first experience after reading a tutorial and using the Bridge to open files was that when I next opened my CS4 Photoshop, it's Bridge had been replaced by a new one. Clciking on any type of file would open PP, not Photoshop, despite that program being set as the default in both Bridge and Explorer. Camera Raw files could not be opened at all an batches would not run.
I called PP pro tech support and as they couldn't solve the problem. insisted that the Bridge was not a part of PP pro and transferred me to Photoshop tech who wanted to charge me $40 for helping. I got a supervisor who also wanted to charge me and finally got him to remotely view that clicking on the Photoshop CS4. icon opened a Bridge that said CS5. Then after some further exploration and closing the Bridge in task manager, was able to get back the original Bridge and said he would email the PP techs who didn't have a clue and should have provided the free support.
Still, if I use the PP Bridge it will hijack my Photoshop CS4 one and I will have to do this procedure every time.
So where can I go to start at the basics of explaining the PP screen panels, menus etc?
Thanks. I found the classroom in a book good for some very basic stuff on ripple and rolling effect and some of the workspace description. I had already looked at some of the other Getting Started tutorial and they seemed to assume that one was already familiar with the panels.
The strange thing about the Classroom in a book was that it was hard to return to an earlier video to review as then only subsequent ones were presented. I was never able to find the workspace one mentioned. He talked about moving the tool panel but mine was not in the upper left as described and was a floating panel that I couldn't integrate with the others. After the 2 videos I watched, the next video had no sound and thus made no sense.
I reopened a saved video clip I'd worked on earlier in the day.
Then when I played the video I found that something had happened to it. It was looping on about one beat of music and I had to extend it. I don't know how that happened. Also there are 2 white rectangles concentric within the edit window and I don't know how they got there.
I had changed the speed/duration to 70% when I saved it and now I find that I can't go back to 100%. I thought I had made progress on some basic understanding but I don't know what's going on.
I had another project with just audio of a tabla player, because I like the ability to slow the tempo to better figure out what is going on. After figuring out where a 12 beat measure looped, I thought I could move the selection to the next but with only audio I can't find a way. And here if I change the speed the clip is shortened. I thought I had read somewhere of how to avoid this but can't find it now.
Some help would be much appreciated.

Is it possible to change the dates now for existing Production orders.
What will be its effects
It is a kind request to you,to please guide me and correct me if I am wrong .
ThanksRahul ,
yes you can change the date of existing production order , only difference it will make is you need to reschedule it and you may face soem capacity availability problem , as the start date for all the order will be same.

How can Apple claim the iPhone has a Super-High res screen when its not even HD? From what I understand, 1280x720 is basic high definiton, and the retina screen only goes up to 1136x640.
There's more to resolution than pixel count. Consider the pixel size on the iPhone screen in comparison to the pixel size on your forty inch HD TV.

I need urgently to know how use a component which allows me to fix an AC voltage and its current.
I can't use a resistance and an AC current in parallele for my application..
Thanks a lot you will be very helpful !In general the way to fix both voltage and current requires a source and an impedance, but you say you do not want that solution.
Please tell us exactly what your application is and why a current source in parallel with a resistance is unacceptable.

UlhasHi,
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
Outbound Process
Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

RSARFCEX - Execute Calls Not Yet Executed
RBDMOIND - Status Conversion with Successful tRFC Execution
RBDMANIN - Start error handling for non-posted IDocs
RBDSTATE - Send Audit Confirmations
FOr testing you can use WE19.
There are two filtering in IDoc.
Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using T/Code BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Prrtner / Receiver Partner.
Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in dustribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant , only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

Microsoft Visual Basic Compiler - MAC and also IPHONE
I work for a company that manufactures traffic calming products. Our software development for the sign has been in Microsoft Visual Basic which is then compiled for the windows environment.
I need to locate a compiler that will hopefully compile it for use on the MAC and also possibly the IPHONE. Many of our customers are looking for a MAC version of the code. It is a simple program that uses bluetooth to communicate to the bluetooth modem in the sign, sending and receiving data and settings.
Thank any of you that can help me with this project. Rich Garrett [email protected] 678-925-3555 www.radarsign.comxnav is right. RealBASIC is a good one to check out. I have a small amount of experience with it, as well as Visual Basic and Liberty BASIC. So, I don't really care for BASIC or any of its variants, but I think that if you to program BASIC on the Mac then RealBASIC is a good way to go. It's similar to Visual Basic, and provides a simple way to build basic (and maybe not-so-basic) apps on the Mac. I'm not sure if it supports iPhone development or not, but it's definitely worth looking into if you need to program BASIC on Mac, and it's the only BASIC-based development environment on the Mac that I know of (there could be more that I don't know of though).

Hello everybody, I have a question.
How can I speed up things on my 15" Powerbook G4? Its a 1.67 GHz with 1GB DDR2 SDRAM running OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and its starting to struggle and freeze sometimes. I just want to know if there are any basic operations that can be carried out to clean it up.
Many thanksWelcome to the Apple discussions.
First, you need 10% to 20% free space on your hard drive for systems usage. Less than that and performance can suffer.
Download OnyX and run the tasks on the cleaning and maintenance tabs: http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs2/english/download.html . A number of people have used this and noticed better overall performance.
Also look at your Activity Monitor, on your hard drive in applications/utilities, and the system memory tab, at page ins and page outs. If page outs are 10% to 15% or more of page ins, you can use more memory for what you run. -

Process Order Basic Finish Date and Scheduled Finish Date
Folks,
I have a requirement from the business to be able to update the Process Order Basic Finish Date and Scheduled Finish Date independently from each other.
In other words, update the Basic Finish Date and the Scheduled Finish Date cannot change or update the Scheduled Finish Date and the Basic Finish Date cannot change.
I believe the reason for this is to be able to use the Basic Date to maintain the ATP accurately and keep the Scheduled Date to mark when the order was originally due from the shop floor to be able to measure if orders are being completed on time or late.
I have worked in tnx OPUZ and had some success with other issues with these dates but I can't seem to make them work independently from each other.
Or does anyone have any ideas how to measure proces order performance to the production schedule?
Thank you for your help,
GregRajesha, thank you for your reply but it doesn't solve my problem.
Let me restate my scenario:
I start a process order and both the basic and scheduled finish dates are the same, June 1.
At some point, shop floor tells me they will be late and cannot deliver until June 15.
I need to update a date in the system so the ATP and the MRP planning runs have correct information for promising customers, I will update the Basic Finish date with June 15.
I also need to keep the original June 1 date in order to measure the shop floor performance to the production schedule to measure how early or late the order was delivered. How can I keep the original finish date or how can I measure if a process order is early or late??
Thank you for your help,

GetuDave,
I will +1 Pixelan's products. They are great, simple, and have about the best support that I know of. When you explore, say Pixelan's SpiceMaster, dig deeply. Things appear rather mundane, on the surface, but there is so very much power lurking, just below the surface. I could almost imagine a 1000 page manual to cover every possible aspect of that program... Every time that I use it, I learn something new, and wonderful.
Good luck,

Basic start date and finish date changing in the past
Hello Gurus,
I set the scheduling parameters as " Do not adjust basic dates, dep rqmts to order start " and also assigned the priority to populate the basic finish date. System does calculate the finish date based on the priority and start date as current date but it does allow me to change both dates in past or future which should not happen.
Please do note that I activated the defaulted date as current date as well. Even I removed this mark and did not work.
Please let me know if there is any way to restrcit the changing it alteast in the past.
MaheeThis can be prevented using one the following ways depending upon your needs
---> Set the "start in past" field to appropriate value using transaction OPU7 for order type /Plant combination
---> Make the "Basic start date and Basic end date" fields as "Display only" through the Field selection config for the order type.
---> Use the user exit on "SAVE" of the order to check for the same

when I create a maintenance sub-order by the transaction IW36 are the Basic start date and the Basic finish date taken, inherited from the principal Maintenance order? And if it is in this way,is there the possibility to put these two dates as a current day only on the maintenance sub-order ?Thanks in advance...
