Basic connection of data of oracle express with oracle BPA suite

hello,
by this means I ask for its aid to be able to solve the following problem, have oracle express edition and business process architect besides business process to publisher and need that both connect to the base of express edition,
can help me? ,
thank you very much

If you want to load HTML file content as structured data, you have 2 basic choices.
If the HTML is XHTML compliant, then you can process it using the XML functions and XDB features of Oracle. The likelihood that it conforms to XHTML is slight though - very few web systems and services (to my knowledge) dish up XHTML. And plain HTML is not compliant.
The 2nd choice - well, a dirty one as you will need to find some kind of method to change HTML data into structured data. You can use a HTML parser that builds a HTML DOM - Gecko can be used for example. However, this is not a trivial exercise.
So instead you can also look at creating code that specifically support the HTML content that you need to process (these should use a static formatting model for the same page types). You can use string processing (Perl, lex, awk, regex, etc) to extract the usable data content from the HTML file and then load that into Oracle as structured data.
Whatever the method - if not XHTML, then you can expect a fair deal of complexity loading structured data from HTML content.

  • Oracle Portal with Oracle Web Cache

How can I configure Oracle Portal (or Web Cache) to work together?
I have installed and started both of them. Now, Web Cache works fine with standard html pages (for example Apache docs) but after trying to reach portal the url is redirected to standard port - on which Portal runs (Web Cache works on 1100 and Portal on 7778).
So it seems that portal pages are not cached.
    Web Cache:
    Application Web Servers:
    hpwin 7778 100 30 5 / 10
Where can I find any information about that?
    best regards
    KJ

Portal PM, I thought you said that this solution would not work. Everyone I have heard so far has said that you cannot configure webcache to work with Portal documents. Does this work or does it not?
Read the messages below from the bottom up.
It's not possible to do that today.
In 9.0.2 (the next release) we will be using WebCache configured out of the box so you won;t need to, however, till then you cannot use webcache with Portal 3.0.x
    Thanks

please try using this configuration on http.conf
    Port <webcache port>
    Listen <apache listen port>
    ServerName <webcache hostname>
you must running ssodatan script again.
    Note :
this config only make portal work together with webcache.

  • Oracle Timesten with oracle apex

I use Oracle 11gr2 and apex 4.2.4 how can i use oracle timesten with oracle apex?
I want to use timesten to improve  performance on report by adding two tables to oracle timsten.

As far as I am aware, recent (11g onwards) releases of Oracle Heterogenous services do not work with TimesTen as they now require an OBC 3.x driver and the TimesTen driver is currently 2.0. Even if they did work, this would not be a useful solution. It might allow Apex to access TimesTen after a fashion (though that is far from certain) but the performance would be very poor due to all the network hops and software layers between the application and TimesTen.
If you put one or two tables in TimesTen then one problem from an Apex perspective is that it is now dealing with two databases; the TimesTen cache containing two tables and the oracle database containing all the other tables. Is Apex designed to cope with this? Does it have the concept of data located in multiple databases where one of them is not the Oracle database? Also, do you need transactions or queries (joins) that span the TimesTen tables and the tables in Oracle DB? If so then this also  will not work as that is not possible today.
I have to say that as far as Apex goes I think this is likely a non-starter. However, if you do try it and have any success then please do post the results here as we'd be interested to hear about it.

  • Oracle Express vs Oracle Discoverer

For publishing reports on the web, which product is better? Oracle Express or Oracle Discoverer? I understand Oracle Discoverer comes packaged with OracleAS. Do we need to purchase Oracle Express separately? What factors determine one product over the other?

my instructor though told me that i should install a regular edition because
'express edition behaves quite differently'.I would ask the instructor for details.
Express Edition runs exactly the same PL/SQL and SQL engine as the big guys.
Express, however, does not include Java in the database so it is not possible to run or call Java Stored Procedures. This is often considered an 'advanced topic'.
In my experience, with the exception of some 'advanced' built-in packages such as Spatial (which are also advanced topics) even many of the supplied Packages and Procedures will work. As an example, even Application Express works on XE and that is done 'entirely in PL/SQL'.
The instructor is absolutely correct if referring to the management interface. Express Edition does not include DB Control. But that is not a 'PL/SQL' or 'SQL' topic unless dealing with performance management and Diagnostic/Tuning packs.
More details are necessary ... 'proof by blatant assertion' is not an answer in this case.

  • Oracle Text with Oracle TimesTen

    Hi!
I'm trying to use Oracle Text with Oracle TimesTen In-Memory. In this customer, we are using Oracle Text to index the names of the company clients. There are about 13 million names to index. We're trying to speed up even more the search using Oracle TimesTen.
Does anybody as any experience using simultanely this two technologies?
    Thanks in advance
    Tiago Soares

TimesTen doesn't support the CONTEXT indextype or CONTAINS clause (or other domain indexes/operators), so you can't create Oracle Text indexes in it.

    Hi
We are migrating our Oracle E-business suite from IBM Power 5 AIX 6.1. to OVM Intel (x86_64) bit, we have tested the migration in our test environment. We want to know how good or bad is OVM with oracle e-business suite in production environment, and if anybody is working on production environment with the similar configuration in Production environment then please share your experience with us
    Thank you

    Hi Sharukh,
Virtualization of course the trend in modern era, and I personally advice you to have a thorough testing on performance and specifically simulate workloads and check the behavior. I don't personally go on to support Virtualization on Production environment as it incurs additional cost like CPU usage, memory usage borrowed by other environment being virtualized. And as it does not directly work with the hardware. May be some will be against this point, but I see as if it incurs additional resources. Being said this, I am not completely against Virtualizationas long as it is not a heavy 24/7 environment. I would go on to support the ideology, saying it's best to choose the right technology to right environment.

The associations are set up at time of installation so that if a user right clicks a claimed file, the OS should offer to send the document to (possibly a group of programs which include) our application.
I am not sure what you mean by "program to be able to add" shortcuts. Do you mean the application might need to do this after first being installed?
What exactly are the menu items the program tries to add? e.g. 'open', 'print', 'add to archive', 'crash & burn'...

  • How to integrate oracle webcenter with oracle webcenter Sites?

How to integrate oracle webcenter with oracle webcenter Sites?

This very much depends on what you mean by the first "oracle webcenter" and what kind of integration you are looking for.
Oracle WebCenter contains three main product lines:
    - Oracle WebCenter Portal,
    - Oracle WebCenter Sites,
    - and Oracle WebCenter Content.
Since the newest version 11.1.1.8 it is possible to store Sites' assets in WebCenter Content.
WebCenter Portal, where the name WebCenter originated from, is another front-end technology, so it would rather co-exist next to Sites than integrate with them. See this thread WebCenter Portal and WebCenter Sites Integration for more details.

  • Oracle Express with 4 Gig of data information?

    Dear all experts,
As Oracle express has 4 gigs of data size limit. so how many exams can be saved for at maximum when it comes to storage for PACS system?
    Thank you all in advance.

    Hello Nicolas,
i think the OP means radiology exam data. Thats because he's talking about PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) - a kind of software you use to store radiology images in digital format.
Usually you don't store the image data inside the PACS (at least not the systems i know), so in the database you usually store the patient data, date and time of the examination etc and the location of the radiology images on some disk system.
However, those databases for PACS can become very large, as nowadays modern radiology modalitys can produce a lot of data within a very short time, having a few hundret or even thousand images for one CT examination is nothing unusual anymore. And as you usually have to store information about each single image in the database thats why it could grow very large within very short time.
I can't imagine that 4GB will be enougth for a PACS, but that greatly depends on what information is stored in the DB and how many exams and what kind of exams the radioloist is going to create.
BTW: The image format that is usually used for this is DICOM. Oracle has added support for it in 11g.
