Basic EXIF metadata no longer shows in first overlay bar.

My Libraries have stopped showing the basic EXIF information in the top line of the Browser Metadata Overlay.  Is anyone seeing this?  I'll delete the user pref's, but I wanted to find out whether it's just me.
Screenshot:

The top line, afaict, has always been reserved for the most basic EXIF metadata.  It is centered (the lower lines are justified left) and in a larger, bolder font.  (Ratings are shown on the left, and Badges are shown on the right.) The third (lowest) line appears when the second line is full.
In your example, does the first Image (the presentation title page/slide) _have_ the basic EXIF metadata of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, and focal length?
It would be very useful to know the algorithm used for the display of the Metadata Overlays.  Perhaps the arborists responsible for our sun-lit clearing will fill our lunch-cups with knowledge.  (Whether a metadatum appears is set in the Browser and Viewer Metadata dialog, as is whether the metadata labels appear, and whether the top line of metadata is superimposed over, or shown below, the Image; _where_ the selected metadata appears is controlled by Aperture, in what is at present an unknown algorithm.  The user has some control over the order of the metadata, but not complete control.)
One small note: my problem is restricted to the Browser.  The Metadata Overlays in the Viewer are working as they always have (similar to your Image on the right of the two in your screen-shot).  However I always get these five in the top line (all "checked" in the settings page): aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, and focal length.  Have you un-checked some of them?

  • Distiller 9.1 no longer shows up on tool bar of word docx

    I installed Adobe distiller 9.1 last year on my new lap top that has Vista Home OS.  I had not used distiller in months, but noticed today that it does not show up as the main conversion on word or when I use print pdf on a document to convert it. I have MS Office 07 version. The program shows as an installed program on my lap top.I also have reader 9 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. Not being a pro at this I am not sure why 9 Standard is on my lap top and what it does that reader does not or distiller. Any help will be appreciated and I am very limited in my depth of computerese (knowledge). For the most part it is kind of like a car to me, gives me the keys and I can get where I need to go (navigate the roads) but should the mechanics fail, I might could show you where the carbarator, battery and radiator is, but I sure as heck could not fix it.

    Distiller is a part of Acrobat. It will only process PS (and EPS) files and convert them to PDF. The Adobe PDF printer is the print driver that provides the PS file for Distiller and AcroTray automates the printing process so that you do not have to manually start Distiller. Reader can NOT create PDF files and that is the main difference.
    When you talk about Distiller, it is not clear where you got it, since it is a part of Acrobat. Thus it is not clear what you mean when you say you use Distiller. It may be that you are talking about the Acrobat Distiller printer that was part of AA5 and you still have that hold over on your system. That printer was renamed with AA6 and later, along with the related revisions. Since Distiller can not process anything but a PS or EPS file, it is unclear how you are using it. You may want to go to the Acrobat Store and look at the comparison of the va\rious products to get a feel for what they do. However, basically Reader is just that, a reader. It does a very limited number of functions, and then only if turned on by the document originator. Look at Reader as to Acrobat as you would look at WORD Viewer compared to WORD.

  • My Mozilla icon is no longer showing on my task bar AND I can not shut down my computer

    I have been unable, after multiple attempts, to 'shut down' my computer - while investigating possible reasons, I noticed that although Mozilla shows up on my screen icons, the symbol does not show up on my task bar. Not sure if one has anything to do with the other - but my Mozilla symbol has always showed up on my task bar, until now.

    Hi MarilynJ68,
    This may be more of a Windows problem than a Firefox one, but I will make a stab at answering it for you.
    I am not at the moment using Windows 7. I imagine though that by default it looks for running apps and prompts a user to close or save etc. before closing down.
    Use the task manager by I think right clicking the task bar or (was Ctrl + Alt+ Del) '''Ctrl + Shift+ Esc''' That allows you to see running programs and havethe option to stop them.

  • My bank requires I use Trusteer but the icon no longer show next to address bar: why?

    My bank recommends we use trusteer rapport as additional security for online banking. Previously this program displayed a green/red icon at the end of the address box below the tabs. Now, although the program is running there is no visual indicator on the screen.

    Trusteer doesn't support the 4.0 beta versions. A rep from Trusteer mentioned in another thread yesterday, that they '''''are''''' going to support the 4.0 Release Candidate version. But he didn't mention that he was aware that the 4.0 RC was going to be released this coming week, so I wonder if they are really ready for the 4.0 RC to be released or not.
    ''I wouldn't be surprised if 4.0 RC was released tomorrow.''

  • CFIncludes No Longer Displaying in Related Files Bar (CC on Mac)

    Hi All,
    I've recently updated to Dreamweaver CC and am having issues with related files no longer showing in the appropriate bar. My CSS & JS files all still appear, but my CFInclude files are not being linked. I have my preference set to Enable Related Files and I have Discover Dynamically-Related Files set to Automatically. I've also tried setting it to Manually but have seen no change.
    Any and all help is much appreciated. Its really causing a kink in my workflow now that its missing.
    Mac OS X 10.7.5
    Dreamweaver CC
    Thank you,

    Almost all support for dynamic content was removed in DWCC. You need to install the Legacy Extension to get some of it back.

  • Updated mavericks and now my bootcamp windows 7 partition no longer shows up

    Hello and thank you in advance for the help!
    This problem started when I updated my Mavericks. My start up into the windows side of my computer is normally a bit slow but works never-the-less. After installing the update to 10.9.5 my windows partition first gave a screen where it would ask me to press enter to get into the windows side of the computer but the keyboard did nothing so I restarted the computer. Thereafter, my windows 7 partition no longer shows up when I press option from start up or from system preferences > startup disk. I was able to find the partition on the target disk mode which leads me to believe that the partition is damaged somehow. I have some of my data backed up, but not all of it. What is the best way to make a data recovery and get my windows partition operating again?
    I have also tried all the basics like PRAM and starting up from Safe mode but I cannot see the windows partition anywhere except for when I open the target disk mode from my other computer.
    Thank you in advance for the speedy replies!

    Hi Eric,
    Bootcamp does show up in the disk utility but it is grey instead of black like the Macintosh HD.
    The following information is available:
    Mount Point: Not mounted
    Format: Windows NT File System (NTFS)
    Owners Enabled: -
    Number of Folders: -
    Capacity:  274.55 GB
    Available: -
    Used: -
    Number of Files: -
    What might be the best way to continue to repair it. I do not have the option to click on "verify disk permissions" or "Repair Disk Permissions".
    Should I clone the hard drive in the target disk mode??
    I'm not the best at this stuff so any more advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • Bridge - Exposure Camera Data (Exif) metadata display problem

    I'm working with raw files with thumbnails displayed in Bridge Content.  In Bridge preferences > Metadata I have Exposure and Exposure Bias Value checked on. (These are the first two lines in the metadata panel.)  When I select a raw file in Bridge the Exposure and Exposure Bias Value metadata are displayed in Bridge Metadata panel as expected.  When I open the raw file in acr 7 and make some edits, click Done in acr and return focus to Bridge, the Bridge thumbnail is updated  but the Exposure line in Bridge metadata panel disappears -- the Exposure Bias Value is the first line of the metadata panel.  If I clear the settings, the Exposure line and data return to the metadata panel.  I also have 'Exposure' selected for one of the additional lines in thumbnail metadata, where the exposure data is correctly displayed even when the exposure metadata line is not shown in the metadata panel.
    I do not see this problem in pscs5 with acr 6.7 beta.  Is there some setting I need to check or is this a bug?

    For anyone who may find this post wondering why they can't see the specific EXIF data for each photo... "Show Metadata Placard" may be what you're looking for. Click the drop down at the top right of your Metadata panel and tick "Show Metadata Placard."  This will display a panel that looks like the info. panel on your camera (shutter speed, f-stop, iso, white balance, etc.).
    I had to figure this out after getting frustrated by the fact that Camera Data (Exif) in the Metadata panel only shows the "Max Aperture Value" of the lens instead of the aperture value that you actually shot.

  • Quickly retrieve Exif metadata

    I've got a script for Photoshop CC 2014 that makes some exposure value (EV) calculations based on Exif metadata in camera raw files and then adjusts the image exposure to the target EV.  I know that this information is quickly available in Bridge, but when I try to get the metadata in Photoshop, I have to use the Document.open() command, and that opens the file (which takes a long time) instead of just grabbing the Exif metadata.  I can get it quickly in a Bridge script, but I'm having a hard time embedding that stuff in a Photoshop-targeted script (the BridgeTalk stuff is a bit confusing to me, or it isn't working on my computer).
    I've also attempted to use "bridge.executeScript()", but the bridge object apparently is not available to scripts targeting Photoshop (or else something is messed up with my installation).  Bridge is available in bridge-targeted scripts only.
    Here's how it's working in Photoshop scripting (I include only the relevant part).
    for (var nfile = nstart; nfile < nstop; nfile++){
    var Name = File(testListing[nfile]).name.replace(/\.[^\.]+$/, '');
    var file = File(testListing[nfile].path + "/" + Name + ".JPG");
    if (file.exists){
    app.open(file);
    else{
    app.open(testListing[nfile]);
    var DocInfo = app.activeDocument.info;
    var docRef = app.activeDocument
    EV[nfile] = CalcEV (DocInfo, BaseISO);
    app.activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);
    (FYI, I use the jpeg file if it's there because Photoshop reads the exif from that file more quickly than it does from the raw file)
    Here's how it's working in Bridge scripting:
    firstfile = '7A7A5842.CR2';
    lastfile = '7A7A5843.CR2';
    var ExifProperty = 'exif:DateTimeOriginal';
    var ExifNamespace = 'http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/';
    app.document.deselectAll();
    app.document.selectAll();
    var myThumbs = app.document.getSelection("cr2");
    var fstart = -999;
    var fend = -999;
    for (var n = 0; n < myThumbs.length; n++){
        if (myThumbs[n].name == firstfile) fstart = n;
        if (myThumbs[n].name == lastfile) fend = n;
    var NumFiles = myThumbs.length;
    var fileThumbs = myThumbs.slice(fstart,fend);
    flen = fend-fstart+1;
    var EVarray = new Array(flen);
    for (var n = 0; n < fileThumbs.length; n++){
        var md = fileThumbs[n].metadata;
        ISO = md.read(ExifNamespace,'exif:ISOSpeedRatings');
        SS_string = md.read(ExifNamespace,'exif:ExposureTime');
        var test = SS_string.split("/");
        ShutterSpeed = test[0]/test[1];
        var Aperture_string = md.read(ExifNamespace,'exif:FNumber');
        if (Aperture_string == '') {
            var Aperture = Number(1.4); // assume Samyang set at f1.4
        else {
            var test = Aperture_string.split("/");
            Aperture = test[0]/test[1];
        var ISOadjust = Number(1.);
        EVarray[n] = Math.log(Math.pow(Aperture,2)/(ShutterSpeed*ISOadjust))/Math.LN2;
        $.writeln('ISO ',ISO,' SS ',SS,' Av ',Aperture, ' EV=',EVarray[n]);
    app.document.deselectAll();
    "Done...";

    Hi Bob, if Bridge was closed then no info would be returned, so make sure Bridge is running.
    Here is the script with slight modifications showing how to process the data in the main function.
    #target photoshop;
    main();
    function main(){
    var bt = new BridgeTalk();
    cameraRawData = new Object();
    bt.target = "bridge";
    bt.body = "var ftn = " + getInfoFromBridge.toSource() + "; ftn();";
    bt.onResult = function( returnedData ) {  cameraRawData = eval( returnedData.body );}
    bt.onError = function( sumatWentWrong ) {  alert(sumatWentWrong.body);}
    bt.send(10);
    //If you get here all should be well and you can process the data
    for(var a = 0; a< cameraRawData.Name.length; a++){
    $.writeln(cameraRawData.Name[a] + " - " + cameraRawData.FNumber[a]);
    function getInfoFromBridge(){
    /* all comments in this function must be in this format ! */
    Info = {}; /* new Object, can be written as var Info = new Object(); */
    /* create new arrays within the object */
    Info.Name = new Array();
    Info.FNumber = new Array();
    /* change folder to */
    app.document.thumbnail = Folder("~/desktop/test");
    app.document.deselectAll();
    /*get  a list of all cr2 documents */
    var thumbs = app.document.getSelection("cr2");
    for(var a in thumbs){
    var t = new Thumbnail(thumbs[a]);
    var md = t.synchronousMetadata;
    /*populate the arrays */
    Info.Name.push(thumbs[a].name);
    Info.FNumber.push(md.read( "http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/","exif:FNumber"));
    return Info.toSource();

  • XP no longer shows up as a startup disk

    After upgrading to leopard today, my XP partition no longer shows up as a startup disk.
    I had/have my windows partition on it's own drive that was NOT created with bootcamp. I pulled my osx disk from the my mac pro and installed windows on the disk i had in bay 2 using 100% of the disk (ntfs). after installing the bootcamp windows drivers, i reinserted the osx disk and all has been well for the last 4 months,... until the upgrade today that is.
    Now, when i go to the 'Startup Disk' preference Windows is no longer an option. the disk still shows up in Finder and I can navigate around the file system.
    Anyone have any ideas on how I can get it to show up again? I'd really rather not have to reinstall if i can avoid it.
    thx.

    I have exactly the same problem (well, maybe).
    I have installed MacFUSE and ntfs-3g. I don't know if this is of any relevance, because I don't know if it was working directly before I installed them.
    I have my OS X and NTFS volumes on the same physical disk. I also had to install Windows twice because I buggered it up the first time (formatted the partition as FAT32 and ran into a bunch of disk errors).
    I also notice that in WinClone I have 2 Untitled Volumes at /dev/disk0s3 and /dev/disk1s1. /dev/disk0s3 seems to be the legit Windows NTFS partition, but I have no idea what /dev/disk1s1 is about. I don't know if it's been there all along or not but perhaps it is confusing matters and stopping the legit Windows volume/installation from being detected...? Should that second volume exist at all? It doesn't exist according to the Disk util.
    edit: I used fdisk just to have a look at the two untitled partitions.

    I can hold the option key upon startup and manually enter Windows like that, but I'd prefer to be able to restart and boot Windows without having to hold a key.
    Apart from not seeing the Windows boot volume in the system prefs pane, Boot Camp (and the rest of Leopard) has been excellent. I am impressed at the level of apple hardware support for windows. It seems to be much better than most native PC hardware.
    I am dying for an answer. It's a fairly minor problem in the grand scheme of things, but **** it's frustrating.

  • IPod Touch no longer showing up under My Computer

    My iPod Touch is no longer showing in the device list under My Computer and as such can't access it to get my photos off it.
    It works in iTunes just fine, syncs fine, etc.
    If I go to Devices and Printers, it used to be listed under the Devices category as iPod, but now shows under the Unspecified category as Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, so basically a generic device.
    I have no devices with exclamation points or any other trouble signs under Device Manager.
    Help?

    Well, I am not entirely sure what exactly happened but after trying numerous times to reinstall the drivers and getting all sorts of error messages, I finally got Windows 7 to cooperate. The iPod Touch now shows up and is being detected as a digital camera under Devices, and under Computer it is showing up under Portable Devices. If I double-click on it I can view my pictures, transfer them, delete them, etc.

  • CCTV DVR No Longer Showing Images On IE9

    Hi there,
    I hope someone may have an idea as to what may be causing the below issue.
    Our business has a CCTV DVR that we have been using via Internet Explorer successfully for over 12 months now.
    However, since updating to IE9 on a few of our Windows 7 machines the images will no longer show, we can log into the DVR and all of the interface shows correctly it is just the camera images that will not show.
    We have had success on only one PC using IE9, the difference being is that this PC uses Vista business and has an ATI graphic card (all the others that will not work have Nvidia cards including one Vista Ultimate machine)
    As a test I formatted one of the Windows 7 machines and reinstalled Windows 7, then drivers etc before installing IE8.
    I then logged into our DVR successfully and all the camera images streamed ok, after this I updated to IE9. When logging into the DVR now with IE9, again no images stream. The Activex is installed correctly and running or I would assume so as all the interface
    loads and comms commands work (retreiving settings, copying footage from the HDD etc).
    When we first got this DVR we did have this same problem and after speaking to technical support they got me to run dxdiag which shown that Direct Draw was not available, they advised me to update the display drivers on the PC which cured the issue (direct
    draw then shown enabled and images streamed).
    Although I would have thought display drivers would not be the issue as IE8 works ok updating them was one of the first things I did after the issue first appeared on IE9.
    I have been in contact with manufacturer and they have said they will look into it but I just thought I would ask here incase any of you knowledgable folk may know what could cause this.
    I realise this may not even be something to ask here also, it may be better answered on the Nvidia forums I just dont know.
    The manufacturer has an online demo of the same DVR on their website so if any of you would like to see exactly what I am talking about you can visit this link: http://www.symphony-dvr.com/sections/demo/instruct.php
    Just to recap and give you a bit more info on each PC here are the operating systems and graphic cards installed, all drivers have been updated:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit - Nvidia Gefore 6200
    Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Nvidia Gefore 6200
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS 512MB
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - Nvidia Gefore 8800GTS 320MB
    Windows Vista Business - ATI Radeon 4600 (Only Working Computer)
    Thanks for any help and if there is any more info needed just ask

    Hi,
    Thanks for the post!
    In certain cases with some graphics card, Internet Explorer 9 may have performance or fidelity problems when drawing webpage content. You can try the following method to check if it works.
    Open the Internet Explorer 9, press Alt, click Tools - Internet Options.
    Click Advanced Tab, check the box "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering".
    Meanhwile, please also ask this question in
    NVIDIA Forum since you mentioned update the driver fix part of the issue.
    Regards,
    Miya

  • Ethernet card no longer showing in ifconfig [solved]

    Hey,
    Normally I don't have any problems with my networking, but this morning my wireless decided not to work. I haven't made made any changes in the past couple of days, so unsure what has caused it. Last Syu was on Thursday and every day including up until last night was fine.
    So spent a while trying stuff out and stressing my tiny little brain for ideas, quick version is I did this:
    netcfg: said interface didn't exist.
    ifconfig: didn't list the interface (wireless is usually eth1)
    lsmod: confirmed the module (ipw2200) was loaded
    lspci: confirmed the card was there
    After copying the output of the above commands plus the obligatory rc.conf onto usb to move to this machine (and just before pushing <submit> on a much larger post than this :-) I decided to check the mac address listed in ifconfig with what is on the sticker under my machine. Voila! My wireless has actually moved to eth0. OK, that's that solved. (Wish I checked that first though...)
    But that means that the reason that my wireless card is now eth0 instead of eth1 is because my old-skool wired ethernet card is no longer there to be numero 0. Why isn't it working? lsmod shows that the tg3 module is loading (it's an Intel card with Broadcom chipset in a Thinkpad T43) , but it no longer shows up in ifconfig. lspci is not showing it (see below), only the wireless card comes up. Does this mean the hardware is borken? What else can I do to check the card?

    Yeah, doesn't give me anything about the ethernet card, but does show the wireless one. No, hang on, just found it. Hmmm, didn't see it before, but I was grepping for 'net' then.

    eth1: attached PHY is 5750 (10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet) (WireSpeed[1])
    eth1: RXcsums[1] LinkChgREG[0] MIirq[0] ASF[0] TSOcap[1]
    eth1: dma_rwctrl[76180000] dma_mask[64-bit]
    OK, so it is at eth1 now, that makes sense since I put ipw2200 right at the beginning and tg3 right at the end of the MODULES array in rc.conf to avoid the system getting crossed up while trying load them too close together. Thanks B, so at least we know something is happening at boot time.
    Btw, my assumption is that ifconfig shows hardware once it is loaded correctly, is that right? But apart from the modules, what else do I need to do to get it showing up in ifconfig?

  • How Come My iPhone 3G No Longer Shows Up in iTunes?

    All of a sudden my iPhone doesn't show up in the iTunes sidebar on my 20" iMac, but using the same cable it does on my MacBook. I have tried plugging it in diretly to the iMac as well as to my Belkin hub, but it no longer shows up in iTunes, nor does it charge when plugged it. The iPhone stays dark when first pluged in.
    Does anyone know why when plugging in the iPhone 3G or my iPod Classic (old school) it won't load on the side bar of iTunes? It is like it does not exist. I have done all updates. I restarted my computer a couple of times and finally got the iPod Classic to load but still the iPhone 3G shows nothing. It won';t even boot my phone up to charge it but will the iPod.
    I use the iPhone on my MackBook with the same cord and it loads to iTunes and starts to sync. Same with the iPod. Both computers are running the same software. Since it works on the MacBook and use to work on then iMac G5 I am thinking it may have something to do with the updates for iTunes. I use the MacBook to charge the iPhone and iPod sometimes but the main computer for syncing is the iMac. Only nothing seems to work. After restarting the iMac several times the iPod seems to work then not work. I am frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    hi John, i have my doubt that it has something to do with authorization/deauthorization. I have read somewhere before that the iPhone (not sure about iPod) can only be "paired" with one mac and if you want to synch it with another one, you need to deauthorize the initial one first. Inside iTune up on its menu bar under Store, there are 2 options that said authorize and deauthorize. Now i haven't tried this before as i only got myself one mac, so i have no past experience here with this particular case. May be some other experienced users can shed some light on this and share with us, before you try out?

  • Songs deleted on iphone - no longer show up on icloud?

    I have signed up for itunes match and am in the middle of downloading my songs back to my iphone.  While it was plugged in to my Macbook, I went under my iphone in itunes and deleted a couple of songs (wasn't really thinking at the time, and that's how I was used to doing it).  Now, those songs no longer show up as available downloads on the iphone but they are on the itunes on my computer and have been sent up to the cloud.  I have re-synced my phone, I have updated the itunes match and those songs are still not available to download am I stuck?

    Hey stillwatergal!
    If you want your notes to sync with your Google account, then you will want to see this article about syncing notes with other accounts:
