Basic Shapes - there were more in Cap 6 - where did they go?

I recently upgraded from Captivate 6 to Captivate 8. In Captivate 6 there were a lot of choices for smart shapes (the star shaped icon) including basic shapes, arrows, buttons, banners, Math. My favorite shape was square box with an arrow to the side so I could include text and point to something at the same time. Where did these options go?
I tried to copy the image from Cap 6 into Cap 8 and I get an error message that I can't import a shape from an earlier version.

Very frustrating change, indeed. The panel under the Big Button Shapes only provides one shape per 'category'. Once you have chosen a similar shape, in your case the Callout shape, you have first to draw a shape, then to move your mouse to the right, to the Properties panel, Style tab where you find the other shapes. Maybe you'll need some more clicks on the arrrows to find the right shape, but in your case you are lucky since this category has only 4 shapes.
This is not the only change in UI that causes a lot more work. Moreover the category 'Buttons' under the shapes, have lost their useful actions, only the representative shape of its category, the Return button has the correct action. But action will not change when you switch to another button shape in the Style tab.

I'm having trouble with my iCloud photos. I thought i could be a little sneaky and take a photo of my photos that were more than 30 days old, so they would be uploaded along with my new photos. that part worked, but i can't upload them to Snapfish?!

Any thoughts? I'm bummed. I've got a few hundred photos on my iPhone that I'd like to move seemlessly - or somehow at all.

I still have over 1600 pictures on my phone that are there, only the ones taken from this device are missing. Where did they go when I syned my phone? I can't find them in my iTunes.

You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly, particularly before any update, restore, etc.
If for some reason you have failed to do this, tehn they are very likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

HT201302 Old iphone 3g has photos on it. When I plug into my imac iphoto and image capture only bring up photos in the camera roll. There were more photos on albums and photo library on the iphone that arent showing up in iphoto and icapture.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.
Again, the photo sync is one way.
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your old computer?
Not good. You can e-mail the photos from your iphone. You do not need to have phoe service for this. The iphone uses wi-fi. The photos will never be of the original quality, as they are reduced when synced to iphone.

I am having a problem when i open a new tab with multiple images. If there is more than five or six images they won't all open.

I open emails with multiple images. The new version is having a problem opening a tab with more than maybe 6 or 7 images. Older versions sometimes had the same problem but the unopened images appeared on the page as a small blank box that you could try to reload. Not anymore. Now you have to reload the whole tab. Sometimes this works other times it doesn't.

You seem to be using a beta version. Maybe go back to a regular release and wait for V. 30 to become a regular release, and maybe whatever bug it is will be fixed.

Is there any RIM rep. in here? Did they notice what's happening? I can't move data from Z10 to Q10

I know this is a common issue, I see many members from forums, here, crackberry, and many others experiencing problems with BlackBerry Link.
1. I can't switch device from Z10 to Q10, 1st it says my Q10 has old software, I have updated to the latest, now it says please make sure my device is connected and retry, I press retry and always failed to detect (for restore data from Z10 backup to Q10) other than that, it can detect my Q10.
2. To restore data from backup you have to sign in to BlackBerry ID first and it makes your BBM contact transferred without the others, contact, SMS, calendar, notes, alarms, settings, etc. I'm thinking of moving back to Z10 and afterwards all my open chats in Z10 just disappear, I still have importants chat containing appointments, addresses, price negotiation, hotel reservations, argh this is frustrating because every time I wanted to restore to new device it will ask to sign in again, and how is it going to decide which is my valid PIN on the other side of my BBM's contact if I keep switching device like this back and forth..
Why can't it be like the old days of OS 4, 5, 6, 7 and 7.1?
Where we can make full or partial backups and restore it to any device and any OS?
Didn't you make a proper test and research before releasing OS10 and BlackBerry Link on the market? (This question goes to RIM's rep. where ever you are)

Laughable poor camera on 9900 I can't take photos of receipts and documents, and I have to charge 3 times a day (this is supposed to be a "mobile" phones? I always ended up with dead battery when I'm mobile, and I have to stuck on charger for hours waiting to charge)
And now this .... Come on RIM do something please we really like your device...
Devices I like the most are 9700 and 9780, except for desktop manager that is not backing up auto text. Great camera, great battery life.
Btw I have use the latest release of Link but still can't restore data.

Because BB10 was not an evolution from BBOS...it is completely new, and sadly they did not take all of the prior design considerations and use them when they created BB10 and it's associated toolsets.

That functionality, while requested by many, has not been implemented. There is no way for anyone here to know if/when it will ever be so.

My pc files were saved onto my iMac. I can't find them. where did they save them to?

At the Apple store I paid to have my data transferred from my PC.
Now I can't find the files.
Should have been 350GB worth of data.
Any ideas on how to find my stuff?

Since you just recently bought your Mac, you have AppleCare - this means that, for the first 90 days, you can phone Apple with any question. Give them a call and they will help you find the files. Usually, they put files in their respective locations - desktop files on the desktop, Files from My Documents in Documents, etc.

I went through the process of archiving my photos, as instructed by REVEL. Where are they? How do I find them?

AE 12.1 (Crash initially occured in previous version, which I don't know what it was - AE CC, but I don't know exact number - problably whatever the most recent update was)
My project has a bunch of ProRes files referenced... even when I move them, and After Effects marks them as offline, I just get this: Last log message was: <140735209366288> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making New Context.
I have done some searching, and even if I go to Google, and put the search in quotes, I get nothing. It doesn't sound like anyone else has had just this problem.
Help?

Sounds like the ProRes files are encoded oddly in a format that AE's own handler can't understand and while falling back to QT it crashes. I believe there are some known issues with this for ProRes 444, but then again I'm not a Mac guy...

When Firefox asked me to update where did all my shortcuts that were on my desktop go? They were very important and I need them back!!!

I had all my work shortcuts on my desktop and when I restarted my computer today the only ones on there were Mozilla and one other everything else I had on my desktop was wiped out, where did they go and how do I get them back???

What does "new actualization" mean?
Do you have Restrictions set that world prevent installing those apps? Settings>General>Restrictions

I took photos and they saved in my camera roll. they were there the next morning. I took more pictures and they are all gone. why did they not save and can i get them back ?

I took photos on my iPhone on yesterday and they all saved. I looked at my photos the next day and they were still there. I took more photos and now none of the last photos that I took in the last two days are there. Why did they not save? Can I get them back? My storage was not full. I just updated my iPhone to ios 7.1 a few days before.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
