Basic slideshow in CS4

I created a basic slide show a couple years ago in Flash CS3 for a client website using keyframes and motion tweens changing the alpha from 0-100% and back for each layer at different times. The client now wants changes and adding photos at specific points within the show. Is there an easier way to do this in CS4 that would be faster than sliding all the keyframes to a different location to make the timing of fades work correctly?

Getting rid of place holder image in basic slideshow??

hey so i have placed a basic slideshow widget and placed my images into it but when it plays through in preview it is still including and showing the placeholder image of the black and white flower. is there a way i can remove this?

In design view, use the next and/or previous buttons to cycle through the images. Use the pointer tool to highlight the ones you don't want then press delete.

Super Widgets: placing lightbox display inside a basic slideshow?

Is it possible to place a lightbox display inside of a basic slideshow?
I have a rotating group of nine images and text inside of a basic slideshow, these images are thumbnails of motion graphic videos I have uploaded to youtube. I would like to be able to hotspot either the text, thumbnail or box, to open the corresponding video in a lightbox; but I can't seem to insert the lightbox into the basic slider.
Is there another way around this? Am I using the wrong widgets? I've tried to use the lightbox alone, but I was not able to upload a thumbnail and video at the same time.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi there.
It is not possible to place a Lighbox widget in a Slideshow widget, but you could achieve the same effect by placing a Lightbox widget in a Composition Slideshow widget (look in the Compositions folder). Many of the same slideshow effects can be achieved, yet it allows widget nesting.
Let me know how that goes.

Windows 7 switches to Basic when Photoshop CS4 in Full Screen Mode

On my system, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with NVidia GTX 280 with the latest drivers, latest Windows Updates etc Windows switches to ugly Basic Mode whenever I switch to fullscreen mode in Photoshop CS4. When I switch back from fullscreen mode - Windows enables Aero back.
This wouldn't be a problem but this switching blacks out both my displays and is extremely annoying, not to mention unnesessary - I can run Crysis in windowed mode and Aero is on. Why switch to Basic for Photoshop? Are there any workarounds? Please don't suggest switching to Basic mode when PS in started.
I also would like to keep OpenGL drawing enabled (when it's disabled the above issue is gone).

Ya, I know a different card but:
I am running a ATI 5870 on Windows 7 64 bit with PS CS4 Extended and there are no issues like that at all.
Try running this free driver sweeper after removing the Nvidia drivers and then reinstall the Nvidia drivers again. Sometimes chunks of left over drivers remain casuing all sorts of issues.
Not to mention that CS4 was out way before Windows 7. So maybe using the newest Nvidia drivers is not the best set for CS4 and Windows 7. Example is the 95 series broke CS4 Bridge on Nvidia cards.

Full Width 'Basic' Slideshow

I am trying to make the slideshow on my page full width, which will expand with the window size. I have dragged to the edges of the screen but it doesn't go to edge of the screen when previewing in a browser.
Could someone please help?!

100% width is a CSS BASIC. I don't get it. Designers are using 100% in their designs...it's very popular. How did this one roll off the table? 100% slide shows are years old. Nothing new...I don't get the "miss" on this but it would be nice to have a Creative Cloud membership that has complete products rather than a bunch of them that are constantly being sourced for customer feedback. No one wants a produict in eternal preview and it used to be that "previews" or betas were a user's option.
I think Adobe needs to remove "preview" products from CC - no one wants to be met with the frustratin of a product that does not have all the considerations...esoecially when they are paying $50 a month. it's like paying for pain.
In the case of not having 100% width for slideshows, it's kinda like building a house with doors.

Creating slideshow in CS4. help!

im trying to make a flash slideshow using Fireworks CS4. the only problem is that when i try to choose an export path i choose a path and it doesnt select it in the box.. the export path just shows as empty/blank and because of this i cannot creat the slideshow. Any reasons why it wont properly show the export path that i choose? please help!

Slideshow in CS4 does then does not show photos and thumbnails

When I create a slideshow in Firewords CS4 and DO NOT move any photos or enter any captions, it displays fine.

Where can I find a basic slideshow program?

Does anyone know of a basic program that would allow me to view folders of photos on my iMac? There used to be a slideshow program you could download for free that offered the simple service of allowing you to click on any given folder and look at each image in a slideshow. There's iPhotos but I don't want to have to pop open iPhoto and add any new pics in those folders as well as add them to photos on my harddrive. I just want to keep my photos in their specific folders on my harddrive and be able to boot up a slideshow program to view them whenever folder I want to.
Can anyone recommend anything?

I was looking for the same thing on Windows. There's Adobe Bridge which comes with Photoshop and/or the Creative Suite but that makes copies of your images to a specified folder and resizes the images for a gallery (either PDF or in your web browser as an HTML gallery or a Flash gallery).
If you know Flash and Actionscript you can make an XML-based slideshow by creating an xml directory listing and using that as a foundation for your Flash gallery without disturbing your hard-drive structure. The downside is there's a memory limitation to what is displayed in your slideshow if you don't code properly. Which is my current problem with creating this type of slideshow. Hopefully I will learn better coding practices or someone can recommend a good solution along these lines for me with coding snippets for assistance.

Einfacher Bildwechsel / Slideshow (mit CS4 Design Premium)

Ich habe mir seit kurzem das CS4 Design Premium-Paket zugelegt. Überall kann man ganz einfach und automatisch eine Diashow generieren, sei es in Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Bridge oder Photoshop. Es erscheint jedoch immer eine Navigationsleiste und/oder Thumbnails.
Hat man nicht die Möglichkeit mit einem der Programme aus diesem Paket eine ganz normale Slideshow automatisch zu generieren, ohne Navi und Thumnails, oder kann man irgendwie angeben dass es bei den Diashows nicht angezeigt wird?
Möchte es in eine website einbinden und da ich einige verschiedene "Galerien" benötige wäre so eine automatische Option perfekt und seeeeehr zeitsparend.

Nach bisschen mit PS rumspielen hab ich noch folgendes entdeckt.
Du machst ne neue Datei in Photoshop
- machst pro Bild ne neue Ebene
- gehst auf Fenster-> Animation
- da kannst dann die die Anzeigedauer der Bilder einstellen und mit der Deckkraft ne Blende machen
- dann auf exportieren-> Video rendern
Mit Dreamweaver, Fireworks kenn ich mich selber auch nicht aus. Evtl. kommen ja noch paar gute Ideen...

Odd Basic Navigation Issue-CS4/Indesign/Acrobat

I'm teaching an interactive document unit with my students, and right now we're just doing basic interactive work. Today was their first day adding functionality in the form of Forward/Backward buttons for a document. We created the buttons from basic text on the master page. We simply assigned them an "On Release" action of "Go to next page," and "Go to previous page"
When we export the document, I made sure they check the book to include interactive elements. Every student's worked fine as expected except for one. No matter what we did, the buttons were clickable in Acrobat, but they would not change pages. I triple checked everything on the InDesign end, but to no avail. I'm guessing this is something machine specific on Acrobat's end.
Any ideas?

When you exported the PDF what compatibility did you choose?
Is the compatibility you choose higher than the version of Acrobat viewing on?
What you can try is using the PDF options from a computer that worked.
In the Persons PDF options that works choose Save Preset
Then load that preset on the other computer in
File>Adobe PDF Presets> and select the file.

Very Basic Slideshow question

I have a question about creating a slideshow -- in the Help File, it says to Save as a file, and then says that if I want the show to automatically replay, select Loop. Where do I select loop??? When I hit Save as a File, it asks for name of file, but does not ask anything else. I know this is probably really easy, but I am going crazy. Can someone please put me out of my misery?

Are you making your slideshow using the option under the create button or a web gallery slideshow under the share button?
I believe you only have the loop option for web galleries and it also depends which template you use when you first create your project.
The slideshow and journal templates seem to loop automatically i.e after the last photo the sequence starts again from the first until the viewer presses pause/stop.
Other templates such as standard and animated normally stop after the last slide. These web-gallery slideshows can be uploaded to Adobe or other web-sites for on line viewing.

IFrame element from other website breaks Muse's basic slideshow widget

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what, but the minute I add this iframe element from a website that has a calendar on it, my site stops functioning and the slide show dissapears. I've tested this in different ways and it all seems related to the iframe. I'm not sure if this is just simply a z-index issue, or something bigger. Essentially, adding this iframe element makes the slideshow widget dissapear. Deleting the iframe element allows the slideshow to reappear and function properly.

Just preview in browser and you'll see it stops functioning, but if you delete the calendar iframe, the slideshow will function normally again.
So, is this a bug? Its a pain in my *** because this is the final element that I need for my website! Just getting this to work and I'm set! An incredible frustration that I'm stopped by such a simple thing like this.
Can anyone else confirm that what I'm experiencing is accurate?

How can i change counter image from example 1-3 to something like that if i add image as fill it doesn't change states.. text isc changing but not image.

SPRY IMage SlideShow Basic: Auto create UL LI list

Recently moved from CS3 to CS5. So new to the whole DW widget thing.
I wanted a basic (no thumbs or titles) slideshow that will auto update when new images are added or removed from an image folder so I don't have to constantly edit the slideshow <UL> list each time I add or remove an image from the image folder/dir
My solution:
I replaced the <UL><LI></LI></UL> code block in my slideshow web page with some php code that will auto create the <UL> list from a folder of images.
I created a folder with only my slideshow images. (.png, .gif and/or .jpg only). I now can add/remove image files from this folder and my slideshow updates automatically.
Seems to work well. My use is for a simple slideshow with no titles or thumbs.
