Can you please post the article "Basic Spring Interaction with WebLogic Portal" by Article by Mark Meyer and Don Davis. Actually it was posted in http://dev2dev.bea.com/pub/a/2006/09/weblogic-portal-spring.html but after the BEA's acquisition by ORACLE, this link was not active. Can some one please assist regarding the same ?

i have come from perl/cgi side of web applications and new to weblogic,theorotically familiar with java and jsp. now i have task on working with weblogic portal server 8.1. i need help on where to start and some kind of direction and all the advantages and disadvantages in this new field of mine. Oracle UCM with Weblogic portals

Does any one has idea working with oracle UCM with Weblogic portals. Can anyone suggest any tutorial in online.

Provided you are using the Oracle UCM Content Adapter for WLP (UCM SPI), using content sourced from UCM in WLP applications is not different from using content from other Repositories.

Basically I am saying that your options are
1. Screenscraping the apps into portlets
2. Using SSO to login to the apps, but keepin them separate
3. Using Web Services to consume parts of the apps and exposing those as portlets
For our application we do 2 and 3. In many cases we just create portlets that represents views into other j2ee apps. When the users click on something, we launch the j2ee app in a popup browser. The users are already signed on, and taken to a specific detail page, add page or something within the app directly.

i have a project in which i have to use documentum with site caching services with weblogic portal 8.1. the html and xml pages will be stored in documentum and the metadata in oracle 8i and xslt will be used for transformation.
Does anybody have any clue what api or things to use for this thing.

Log4J with weblogic Portal 9.2

Can anybody have sample process to configure Log4J with weblogic Portal 9.2?
Sample code alongwith log4jConfig.xml and other required jsr files would be helpful.
I want to store all the log messages to defult weblogic dirctory. i.e base_doman\servers\AdminServer\logs

Do you want your app to log messages using log4j (in which case the setup is no different in WLP than with any other app using log4j, read the log4j docs) or do you want weblogic server messages to be sent to Log4j?

Need CVS plug in with weblogic portal 10.3

I tried to integrate the CVS plug in with Weblogic Portal 10.3 using software updates (Selecting Eclipse CVS Client 1.0.2.r33x), but getting the error - Weblogic Portal 10.3 requires feature "com.m7.nitrox(1.0.20)", or compatible

This is a bug, 8185869 (Check in Metalink) . that has been fixed in the Sunshine Release. In the meantime, here's the workaround from the bug report:
Download the plugin manually, and either 1) create an extension location on the file system from it and add that via Help|Software Updates|Manage Configuration, or 2) extract it to one of the workshop eclipse folders (i.e. tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/eclipse_3.3.2, tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/pkgs/eclipse, workshop_10.3/workshop4WP/eclipse, wlportal_10.3/eclipse).
Additionally, you can comment out the com.* import lines in your %BEA_HOME%\wlportal_10.3\eclipse\features\com.bea.wlp_10.3.0\feature.xml, like this:

<import plugin="org.eclipse.ui" version="3.3" match="compatible"/>

Then restart Workshop.

Hello,
To use ADF with WLP 10.3.2 you will need a WebCenter WSRP producer running the portlet, which you can then consume as a remote portlet in WLP. The documentation on how to do that is here:

How to integrate Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse with Weblogic Portal

I am following this documentation http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14252/setup_dev_env.htm#i1013214
to setup my development environment for developing portal applications, but I cannot set it up, my eclipse does not have PORTAL perspective.
I have downloaded the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11gR1 (11.1.1.5) and the Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3 as mentioned in the documentation.
The Oracle Weblogic Portal 10.3 includes a workshop version of eclipse, but that is not based on a recent Eclipse, that is why I would like to use the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11gR1 (11.1.1.5).
It is weird int he Oracle Portal 10.3 installation that I cannot install the Weblogic Portal without the Workshop.
Could you help me in this? How can I integrate the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse with Weblogic Portal?

For WebLogic Portal tooling you have a couple of options. For WebLogic Portal 10.3 and older, Workshop for WebLogic will be your tooling environment.
Starting in WebLogic Portal 10.3.2, which released this year, the development tools have migrated to Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse. The WebLogic Portal 10.3.2 installer will install both the runtime and the IDE configured with additional WebLogic Portal Eclipse features (Portal Project Configuration, Perspecitives, Palettes, Deployment, etc).

Problem in Interacting with Weblogic JMS through Informatica ETL server

We are trying to configure Informatica PowerCenter server to interact with JMS queues created on Weblogic 11gR1 server. We have copied the necessary
jar file - wlfullclient.jar to the classpath of the Informatica server.
Now when i try to read contents of a JMS queue created on Weblogic server through Informatica, i get this error:-

I have checked that this class file exists in the above said location :- "weblogic/jms/common/DestinationImpl.class" within the wlfullclient.jar but still the
code is not able to access the class. Similar error came initially while doing JNDI connection using "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory" class but it vanished,
when i explicitly named the jar file on classpth, instead of just the folder containing the jar file.
To all the users/experts/moderators of Weblogic - Could you please help me understand why Weblogic is not able to look up subcontext 'common'
for the class - "weblogic.jms.common.DestinationImpl" ??

You are experiencing a NameNotFoundException, not ClassNotFoundException so it seems there is something wrong about the client connection code or WebLogic config.
Can you share your client connection connection config/code?

There is no such thing as Weblogic Portal 11g. The latest release of WebLogic Portal is 10.3.2.

Can I integrate BPM with WebLogic Portal virtual content repository?

For example, when there is a new added node in WebLogic Portal virtual content repository, the workflow triggerd, and start a workflow instance on that node.
May be the node is a document, I'd like the document have a complex approval process.
My question is, there are many nodes so many workflow instance after I added many documents, so how can I know which node is combined with which workflow instance? May be in workflow process ,I'd like to get and set the node metadata or something else with the WebLogic Portal virtual content repository, how can I process data between BPM and WebLogic Portal VCR?

With regard to inline editing with Content Presenter in WLP 10.2, you should know that this "feature" is simply an example of how you might author advanced display templates.. The sample application for Content Presenter has a display template which is used to allow this inline editing. The template is just a sample and source code is provided. For your purposes, you can author your own display template which can provide inline edit even if Library Services are enabled. You'll probably want to enable version preview and approval to the template as well. It's a little more work, but certainly possible.

Using Apache with WebLogic Portal

Hi,
I had a small test WebLogic system working, and just started configuring an Apache server to frontend it, using the WebLogic Apache plugin to connect the two machines.
I did the httpd.conf configurations indicated in BEA's documentation, including the <Location /weblogic>, etc., and I was finally able to get it all working. But, to do this, I found that I had to copy the /features and /images directories from the WebLogic machine to under the /htdocs directory on my Apache machine, and I was wondering if this was "normal" (i.e., was that the correct thing to do)?

When I read your msg, I wasn't sure 'where' you meant to try the "/app.portal*".
The Plugin documentation doesn't mention using a wildcard ("*") at all, but I figured I'd try it, and VOILA, it now works.
FYI, here's what I have in my httpd.conf:
