Basis Changes possible with prod client set to "no changes"

Hi SAP Basis Experts
I am busy with an internal security review of a client's SAP Environment and I experienced a query from the client side regarding a finding on SAP Basis Changes - an area I'm not too well versed in. The Client's Change procedures require all changes to be requested by logging it in a notification screen and the classification of the SAP changes according to it being either, small, normal, emergency or basis changes.
Should the change be classified as basis changes, it bypasses their security procedures and no authorisation is required for the implementation thereof, it seems, straight into the production environment.
The Client has the following settings
Their Global Security Setting (SE06) is set to "Modifiable"
Cross Client Obj Changes for the Production Client (SCC4) is set to "No changes to repository and cross client customising objs"
The person performing the basis changes has a development key in the production client (DEVACCESS) along with two others.
Other than a myriad of security shortcomings my question is this:
The Basis Administrator argues that he can not make changes to the production environment due to the the "No changes..." setting even if he does have a Developer key.
1) Is this correct?
2) What further reports can I ask to validate that this administrator can not make changes without due authorisation?
3) Is there a report that details which users can make changes to the Client Settings (SCC4)

1) No Need to create Another TS for SAP R/3, this will not allow you to create another one.
2) Just Add the Business system for the Existing TS with Client 216 and also take care abt the Logical System Name here.
3) Refresh SLD Data Cache in IDEnvironment-
4) Now Use this New Business System for Communication which is having the New Client and Corresponding LS Name

RE: Is tempo change possible with imported song from i-Tunes

I have an AAC Audio file Which is an i-Tunes Data Base File . I produced the song in logic as a WAV format File . Imported back into Logic ,( with no backup uncompressed copy of the File made , prior to putting it into i-Tunes).The File is now a WAV file again...or interleaved stereo File . I know it was stupid to delete all audio files on the song after I put it into i-Tunes , but is it still possible to speed up the tempo a little.? I do not believe the song has D.R.M applied because that goes on if the CD where the song came from was encoded for sale to the general public ,right ? I might be wrong ...so to reiterate , does anyone know if I can speed up Tempo and Burn the new version.? Some body with PRO_TOOLS told me it would be no problem on his system .IF you are there CARABA , I hope this helps if you think you can help ... and by the way ,what does LMK mean ? pardon my ignorance and Thankyou to All who gives this problem some thought ,and shares some of your time . yes you can change the tempo of an audio file in Logic. Chapter 21 starting on Page 505 of the manual discusses it in depth. Drop your AAC file back into Logic and it will be converted back to an aiff audio file. double click the region and open the sample editor. under the "Digital factory" you can find "time and pitch machine" adjust the tempo of your file there

Is there a way to automatically change tabs with different times set for each tab?

I found a few add-ons that will automatically change tabs based on a configurable time. But all the tabs use the same time setting. What I need is the ability to have tabs displayed for different amounts of time. Ex, Tab 1 for 30 seconds, Tab 2 for 10 seconds, Tab 3 and 4 for 5 seconds. Ideally, I will have the ability to modify these settings as the amount of tabs and the content will change a couple times a week.
Currently I'm using Tab Slideshow with each tab displayed for 15 seconds. But it sounds like Tab Rotate and Auto Toggle Tabs essentially do the same. If there is already a solution that would be great but if not is there someone available for hire to help modify one of the existing add-ons? Thank you in advance for your time.

What integration is really possible with Corba clients and servers

I find the RMI/IIOP sections of the docs a little confusing or maybe just lacking a few "clear statements".
I have a few specific questions:
1. What version of CORBA/IIOP do you support? Fully support?
2. Do you have your own ORB, or rely on the JDK? or other?
3. Can I use WLS to originate a call out to a CORBA server? without running my own ORB inside the WLS process?
Simple, concise answers will be appreciated by the CORBA challenged people like myself. If these questions are addressed in the docs, please point me there as well.

Volume change on track without disturbing set automated volume changes

I'm finished with my first project. When it mixed down to iTunes, I discovered that one track needed to be bumped down just a bit; but I don't want to disturb all the automated volume contours that I already set. Surely I can lock the whole track or group all the automation nodes and then change the volume overall while keeping the proportions of my automated volume controls, but I haven't figured it out. Is it possible to set a "query in change mode" with the Report Designer 7.x

I have a query set in "change mode" with an index set as "data can be changed using user entries or planning funcionts".
If I use this query as a "Data Provider" in the Report Designer, the result is still in "change mode" or a result of the Report Designer is only a static image?

Change Rule 3 (with Engineering change order with change type)

A customer created a recipe with Change Rule 3. Can you still change a recipe that has this setting? What needs to be done if a change has to be done on the recipe? Thanks!

Hi Kevin,
the change rule You described requires an engineering change order (ECO) with a change type for objects. Without ECR You can not change that recipe anymore.
1) You need to crate an engineering change request (ECR) with transaction CC31
2) In this ECR You need to create an entry in the "objects" section for "TL" with Your task list type, receipe group and with a change type
3) In header of ECR You need to change the status to "check ECR"
4) Go back to objects section, mark You object and choose function "Edit -> Object Status -> Change Possible"
5) Go back to header and change the status subsequently to "ECR checked", "approve ECR" and "convert ECR"
6) Save
7) Go to C202 or C223 and use this ECR number to change Your master data
Alternative B)
If Your customer enterd this recipe with change rule by accident and does not intend to user ECM functionallity just delete the recipe using TC C298.

Change of password on client and server

Hi,
Here's how things are:
1. Each user has a local account on his local computer (using either Windows XP pro, 7 pro or 8.1 pro).
2. Each user has an account on both our servers: Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 (not in domain mode).
3. On all three machines each user has the same login and password.
4. After the user logins onto his computer the system maps some shared folders from both of the servers without askig for any aditional password as the pair login/password is the same on all machines.
5. We turn on the user must change his password every 30 days feature on all three machines.
6. After 30 days upon trying to log in onto his computer the user gets the change password prompt.
7. The user changes his password..
8. User's local computer runs a .bat file (from autostart/autorun folder) which tries to access an empty file on a server and if it cannot do so runs a remote desktop connection to that server.
9. The user tries to login on that remote desktop and gets the very same change your password prompt. He changes the password to the same one he set up on his local computer.
10. A .bat file from autostart/autorun folder on the server logs out the user the second his password is changed.
11. The same thing applies to the second server: file access error, remote desktop, password change, log out.
Unfortunately in 99% after another 30 days things go wrong. The user changes his password on his local computer (when asked to do so), the .bat file checks for the file on a sever, doesn't see it, runs the remote desktop connection to that server and the server
does not prompt the user to change his password. What's even more strange is that different users have the same problem with different servers: for some the 2003 asks for the change and 2008 not or 2003 does not and 2008 does, or sometimes none of them do
prompt for the change. The user runs the remote desktop connection from time to time and after two or so hours later the server finally asks for the password change. With each 30 days, each password change on his local computer, the time difference gets bigger
(up to two/three days).
Why is that so? How can I get rid of that time difference?

If you use Policing the exceeding traffic will be dropped and ofcourse as TCP is reliable there will be retransmissions,etc but the ASA will allow them as long as they are not exceeding the parameter previously setup.
Nor you could try to use Shappin ( ASA will not drop the traffic, the traffic will be buffered so it can be sent later)

Text fields with comb of ... characters change at client

Hi, I have an urgent problem.
I have created a form with text fields set as a comb of [] characters. Now the number of characters seems to have changed when some of our clients open the form in Adobe Reader. All our clients have access to the form on the same server, and as we receive many forms with the correct number of characters, I suppose this could be a problem with the individual user's version of Adobe Reader. I seems to be a problem for users at different physical locations, so it is not a problem isolated to just one computer.
The form is developed in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 and is set to run in Adobe Reader 8.1 or later.
If this is a problem due to the clients version of Adobe Reader, is there anything I can do to prevent, this from happen.
I really hope some one can help me with this one.

Hi Kirstine,
The documentation indicates that setting the target version to v8.1 should be adequate, as comb fields are supported from v8. However a user with an earlier version of Reader will still be able to open the form. They will just get a message to update Reader as some of the features in the form may not be supported with their earlier version.
I think that you would need to try and find out what version of Reader the users that are experiencing the problem are using.
You could set up a script to check the version of Acrobat/Reader. Then if it is v8.1 or above show the comb field, otherwise hide the comb field and show a standard field instead.

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Is SAP BI reporting is possible in ECC 6.0 with same client

                         My requirement is, we need to design SAP BI data flow in ECC 6.0 with same client only. Now I am designing the BI data models as per the requirement of SD sales reports in ECC 6.0.For this, when i was extracting the data from SD datasource(2lis_11_vahdr) in RSA3 its showing 0 records,actually as per VA01 some records are available but its not showing in the RSA3.
                          My doubt is , is it possible to extract the data from ECC 6.0 and load the data to the datatargets and get the SAP BI reports in ECC6.0 with the same client.
                          Please suggest as soon as possible.

It is possible to load the data from the same client. It all depends on the source system and the client which has been connected in the RFC connection.
