Batch Action files go back into Source Folder

I'm running CS3 on a Mac with OS 10.4.11. When doing my first Batch Action the processed jpgs,
1. end up overwriting the original files in my Source folder rather than the Destination folder that I specified.
2. are all darkened although I requested no adjustment.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

View next received email when I click back into a folder

Hello
Does anyone know how to view the next new email without having to actually click into it?
I have rules sent to place emails in folders when I receive a new emails.
I used to be able to click that folder and it would highlight the most recent email and I could read it with the preview pane and then click to another folder and that email would be marked as read.
It only does this for the first mail of the day when I click back into the folder it shows me the first email received that day and not the most recent which obviously is the one I am interested in.
Does anyone know of a fix for this please. I cannot seem to find an answer in the forums all they seem to do is highlight other issues I have to look forward to, I have checked my rules, I have tried changing view settings and filters. Nothing seems to work
(as seems to be the case with most of microsofts products) I have a number of issues with this new look office, but this is the one that annoys me the most. I have workarounds for most of the other issues.
I would like to go back to office 2003, however this is part of a major upgrade (depending on your point of view) to our systems and as I am only an end user however I will not get a say.
If all else fails I will be blind by the end of the week and it will no longer be a concern (We have office 2013 on one screen and navision on the other) I suspect health and safety will insist on snow googles as standard equipment.
Any help or pointers from fellow sufferers would be greatly appreciated.

Outlook provides the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl + < (Last item) and Ctrl + > (Next item) to view the message after we open the email item.

UDF to capture the source file name or the source folder for mapping

Hi All,
i have 2 files - File1 from File2 from 2 different folders- single comm channel FTP (FCC). i have to pass a constant A and B respectively to a field in target structure.
my options are -
either create a new field in source str populating different constants and then map to the target str
or a udf to get the source file name or the source folder so that i can map the constant using the value mapping/FixValue mapping.
please suggest. thanks.

Hi,
please use the UDF to determine the file name. Then based on file name either pass A or B to your target field.
The code is as given below. Just tweak the code to pass either A or B as per your requirement.

Archiving the File in the same source folder

I have a file to file scenario.
Scenario Description :
I have 10 source folders and one Communication channel.I am picking the files from different source folders (with .txt extension) using the option Advance Selection for Source File in the CC.
I am able to pick the files,do the Content Conversion and process them.
Now i want to archive these files in the same source folder from where i pick.The Archive Filename will be same as the Source Filename with the extension changed to .eof (for example if i have a file in folder X with the name input.txt then it shld be picked and archived in the same folder X with the name input.eof).
Can somebody help me out on this?
How can i do this?
Is there any option to do such type of archiving for any number of folders using a single Communication channel?
Adapter Module is one of the option but is there any other option?
If Adapter module is one of the option , can somebody expain me the Module execution flow for the sender file adapter , that is whether custome model will execute first or standard module is executed before that.

While configuring your communcitation channel, in the processing tab --> processing mode,you need to select the archive mode and then specify the path as to where you want to post it, in your case it will be the same path as to your source path, give the same path and specify the name of the file as to what name you want to archive

Batch action in CS6 ignoring my destination folder!

I have an action I have been using once every year for several years in a batch automation process in Photoshop. Its purpose is to resize all the images in a specified folder and save the new versions (using the same filename) in another folder. Both folders are specified in the Batch dialogue, which is also set to override any Action 'Save As' commands. This procedure worked without any difficulties using CS4. Today, I tried running it for the first time under CS6 and it failed on the very first image.
The problem is that it is triggering a request for my permission to save the image as a copy. The reason is that it is trying to save the modified file in the source folder and ignoring my specified (different) destination folder.
Can anyone offer some guidance on how to fix this?

What operating system are you using?
Did you try rewriting (recording) the action using photoshop cs6?
Have you updated photoshop cs6 with the latest updates using Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6?
You might post a screenshot of the action with all the steps open and maybe someone will spot something?

Another folder where there will be copies of the master files in a different format with different names but created at the same time as a file in the source directory.

I need it to then take the name from the source fies and apply the correct name to the matching file based on the time it was created.
I can't seem to find actions in automator that reference time crated.
Is this something I will be able to Do in automator?

It's impossible to do this without any script in Automator.
Use this AppleScript script :
set source to choose folder with prompt "Select the source folder"

Raise an alert after a specified time, if file not found in source folder

Hi all,
For a requirement, I need to poll a folder at a specified time say 10.00-10:15 AM and check for a file.
If the file is not placed in the source folder within this duration. I need to raise a alert.
How do we handle requirement. Pointers/suggestions to achieve the same would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your response. The timeout option will work if the Transport Protocol is FTP. But take a case where it is NFS.
Then how will be monitor the source location for a certain period and then raise an alert.

Why does FF need to create 10,000 folders for the cache? How do I make it go back into single folder mode?

Before it was x:\\Cache\"stuff"...Simple easy to find files if you need to.
Now its..

What is the purpose for the extra folders? I want to be able to revert it back to single folder mode.

You would need to revert to Firefox 3.6.23 to have the old cache setup.
The multiple cache folder setup is to allow for a larger cache which works more efficiently that earlier versions worked.

Automatically open files when dropped into a folder

I have a folder which has a constant stream of images being dropped into it. Is it possible for Photoshop to automatically open recently added images of a certain folder, then save (as .psd) and close to a different location?
It would be nice for Photoshop to do this overnight as new images are being dropped into the folder.

How do I read properties file kept in the source folder in weblogic workshop

I want to have a log.properties file in the folder of the source java code which
is reading this properties file. When I build the code the properties file also
should go with the generated .class files.
I am using class.getResourceAsStream("log.properties")
I tries different ways to make the class to read the file, but it failed to find
the properties file. Is there any way to keep the configuration files in the same
directory of the source java code ? This is the problem of weblogic workshop 8.1.
This thing runs fine in Tomcat.

Did you try and add the path where the .properties file is located in the CLASSPATH?

Searching for multiple files to put into same folder

Hello,
I have a group of folders each containing low resolution images. I would like to create a group of new folders with the exact folder organization with the exact files in each folder but the folders should contain the high resolution images. Currently the high resolution files are all mixed together in a few folders on my external hard drive.
I'd like to simply open the low-resolution folders, do a select-All, and somehow use those file names in a mass search of the high res folders, but I'm not sure if it's possible or how to do it.
I am using OS 10.4.11
Any help would be appreciated.

O.K. I think i figured out a backdoor way to do this. I'm open to easier methods.
This is 500 or so files I'm trying to organize so doing each one by one was not going to be good for my sanity.
In the Finder I selected all the files in that low res image folder who's organization and contents I wanted to mimic in the new high res folder. I control clicked and did the "Copy All" item on the dialog.
From there, I opened TextEdit, pasted the file names to a new text document. The list is a descending list with each file name separated by a line break (or "carriage return" they used to call them.) I carefully moused to the beginning of one file name and selected the space before the first letter of the file name and selected the empty space until the last letter of the previous file name. It should be nothing but blank space selected. I copied that, clicked "Find" on the TextEdit menu. I selected the Find space, put my cursor in there and pasted into the space. In the "Replace" space I type " or " and clicked "Replace All."
This prepared a lengthy text section featuring all of the file names ready to be entered into a Boolean search. I used EasyFind from www.devon-technologies.com to do a boolean search of the high-resolution folders and Bingo, there they are ready to be put into their new home.
Whew.... if anyone cares.... or has an easier method I am all ears.

Media Files Sorted/Copied into new folder

I have a huge project and thousands of files I need to find all the media(quicktimes) of specific shots with the same shot/take lable and copy those files into a new folder so i can send them to someone else to edit with.

Highlight all the clips in the BROWSWER that you want to transfer and use the MEDIA MANAGER and the COPY option.

How do I get my NYTimes app off the new "Newsstand" and back into the folder I set up for all my news apps?

I finally uploaded the now operating system 5.0 and set up iCloud. It rearranged all my apps on my iPhone, and took my NYTimes app out of the folder I set up for all my news apps and now I can't get it out. Nor can I move my other news apps onto the newsstand. Any ideas?

You can't (at the moment). Have been playing around with the same problem for about an hour - very irritating!!!
If enough of us complain, (to the NYTimes) they might have it switched back, but I doubt it. From the marketing point of view I would imagine they want "Newstand" to be THE subscription center, which does make sense.
