Batch change colorsync profile

I have moved an iPhoto library from a PowerBook to an iMac. For all photos I had the Color LCD colorsync profile embedded, which looks good in the PowerBook but washed-out in the iMac. I now embed the sRGB profile for new pictures, but I would like to batch change the old ones. Snow Leopard has an Embed script that will change the profile. Would it be safe to show contents in the iPhoto Library and drag the folders containing the old photos onto the script? Apart from Modified and Originals do I need to do this for other folders?
Many thanks
George

George:
You could apply the new color profile to the original and modified files and iPhoto would see them when you opened iPhoto the next time. However, unless do you the same for the thumbnails the thumbnail will not display the sRGB profile while the original or modified will.
Select an event to test on. The hardest part will be finding a modified version since the subfolder in the Modified folder will often be just have the date modified as the folder name. What you can do is convert the originals and thumbnails and then do a Revert to Original for all the photos and that will get rid of the modified files that weren't converted.
NOTE: That's the only change/edit to photos you can made from the Finder to the contents of the iPhoto Library. Any other type of change/edit will mess up the library.

  • How do I Batch change color profiles in CS4?

I need to change color profiles on hundreds of photos at a time. CS4 does not give me that option it seems, only lame options i'll never use

Probably easiest would be recording an Action of a conversion and running that with File – Scripts – Image Processor; Batch or Droplets are other ways of using an Action.
    Scripting would be another option.
Which options exactly do You mean with »lame options«?

  • Warning: ColorSync Profile change

Warning: The default icc-color profile (ColorSync Profile) exporting images out of Aperture is sRGB! AND the Export Presets switch back to sRGB after changing. This happens with the own Export Presets too. I think this is a bug.

My Resume after a lot of tests:
    * Pictures without a ICC color profile got a sRGB Profile without asking.
    * Export RAW Pictures out of Aperture from my Nikon D70 with the embedded Adobe-RGB ICC profile using "Use Source Profile" ends into a profile called "Linear RGB" opening the file in Photoshop.
There are no problems with Photoshop embedded ICC-Profiles. This is RAW (Nikon D70) only.
    * Export Presets always switch back to sRGB after changing. This happens with my own Export Presets too. (Using "Export Version")
Are there other People with this problem?

  • Changing printer profile in Colorsync

I'm trying to change my printer's color profile in Colorsync. I opened Colorsync and went to the devices menu. Dropping down to my printer, I selected it and the available profiles were displayed... But not the custom profile I made. *Mac Help* walked me through changing the profile: Click the drop menu to the right of the 'Current Profile' heading, select 'other', and navigate to your custom profile.
Great, so I did that. But my custom profile still didn't show up in the 'Usable Profiles' list. And the list still shows that I'm using 'Pro38 SWMP_LD', except now when I highlight it, the description in the right window shows that I made the change. 6 months from now I'm not going to remember that I changed the profile 'Pro38 SWMP_LD' to 'Hahnemuhle German Etching' and I'm going to have to go digging or post another question (where's my profile??) on this forum.
Is there a way to get my custom profile's name ('Hahnemuhle German Etching') to display with the rest of the profiles under my printer's 'Usable Profiles' list? FYI- I tried putting my custom profile in the same 'ICC Profiles' folder where the other usable profiles reside. It still didn't show up in the list.

    Anyone???
If I need to clarify, let me know.

  • Possible to change iPhoto colorsync profile?

I have iPhoto 6 set up that on import it assigns a colorsync profile to an image. In my case that turns out to be the "AdobeRGB(1988)" profile.
Where can I change this to maybe another profile? As usual, there's nothing in the help files.

Yes.  Command (right) - click on the book in the left hand pane and select Duplicate.
Open the duplicate copy and  go the Change Themes button and click on it.  In the next window you can change size within the same theme.
The reason for the backup is in case the text might be lost or garbled up due to size changes in the text boxes. You can copy what is in the original library and paste it into the different sized library after adjusting text size if necessary.

  • Changed REM Profile regarding generation of postprocessing records

    Hello Team,
I have tried to backflush a part number. I get this error:
Changed REM Profile regarding generation of postprocessing records
The intrigue here is that this same part number was backflushed last week without error.
    I will appreciate your inputs.
    Thank you in advance.

    Joel,
Check the material master for changes in REM Profile assignment, looks like the REM profile assigned to the material does not allow Post Processing records, so if there are errors during backflush like less stock, no storage location, batch not assigned, system would give error and it would not allow you to post the backflush.
If there are no changes in the material master for REM profile assignment then the assigned REM profile itself must have been changed in configuration in the path mentioned by fellow forum member. Please check and for "Error correction for backflushing" section definations.

    Problem on Mac OS [ColorSync//Profiles/EW-sRGB
Tag 'desc': Tag size is not correct. Could not be fixed.]
My screen contrast has gone awry and the ColorSync Utility is unable to fix the problem. In searching the wisdom of the web, I found a response from 2009 on another forum, which referenced this forum. But the thread is gone. The information was in regard to the Color Profiler. Can anyone help? Has anyone had to deal with this? I found a lot of people looking to fix this, but not a lot of follow-up replies with answers. I have tried reinstalling the file from a back-up and re-booting, but to no avail. Some have suggested a problem with the Epson software. But without any detail, I don't know what to look to change. Any help, advice, cures, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I thought you asked what course of action to take.
It means the data for that "tag" in the profile is not the size expected - I know, that's obvious too. The 'dmnd' tag contains the manufacturer's description.

You could try opening it in ColorSync Utility and editing the tag.

  • Embed ColorSync profile, how to get back to original color profile?

I am a bit shocked , experienced today that iPhoto by default embed ColorSync profile (found under general- advanced settings for iPhoto) to every photo imported.
I always believed (and trusted) iphoto did not change the original file from the memory card. I have compared today the file from the memory card and the one found under originals in iPhoto library and see now that iphoto darken the shadows area a bit, in my eyes not a good thing.
So my question is , is the process done by iPhoto reversible? Can I get back the original profile (sRGB I believe) for my photos?

iPhoto by default embed ColorSync profile (found under general- advanced settings for iPhoto) to every photo imported.
Well let's get past the shock for you. It doesn't.
If the photo has a pre-existing color profile then the file is not touched. iPhoto uses the one already embedded. It only adds a profile if 1: there is none present and 2. If you check the box.
The profile attached is virtually indistinguishable from sRGB, just adapted slightly for Apple monitors.
Search the Help for ColorSync. This explains it quite clearly.

  • 1DMkIII Colorsync Profile Bug?

I've recently been having problems with my 1DMkIII files and Aperture. The images are coming in much brighter than before including images I have already corrected and the highlights are blowing out to yellow. Made me believe there is a colorsync problem. In colorsync utility I clicked on the profile tab and the MkIII Generic profile. While cruising around I happened to click on the 1DsMkII generic color profile and had to do a double take. It is the EXACT same as the 1DMkIII profile, which should be impossible. I'm wondering when I upgraded to either Aperture 1.5.6 or maybe OSX 10.4.11 it changed the profile. If anyone is running 1.5.4 and/or 10.4.10 please check the MkIII profile and see if it different than the 1DsMkII generic profile.

I'm shooting with 1DsM2 not 1DM3 but... the Aperture profiles are not readily accessible in the Colorsync utility. I believe that Aperture, like Camera Raw & Lightroom, uses at least two profiles per camera and interpolates between them based on the color temp of the image file.
If you are seeing generic camera profiles its most likely from some other third-party raw convertor. It sounds like C1. Do you have C1 or Bibble or some other 3rd party convertor on your systems that allows for selecting camera input profiles? As far as I know DPP's input profiles are not accessible either.
Regarding your problem I have not seen any issues in terms of color and tone regarding 1DsM2 raw files and the change to 1.5.6 and 10.5.x.
Simple issues could be... if you've left color proofing on or the highlight hot areas on (and switched the color from red to yellow). Both are unlikely if you are seeing the issue on many computers but it couldn't hurt to check. Another issue could be if you've changed the way you profile your displays you could then look to see if the issue lies there. I once tried fiddling with the parameters in Eye-one Match and found that certain types of monitor profiles did not play nice with Aperture but worked in fine in Photoshop.

I don't if the issue referenced in the thread above has been corrected.

  • Can't Use Previous Colorsync Profile

I just changed from a 17 in to a 19 in lcd monitor - same brand, just a difference in size.
When I was using the 17 in I used the Display Calibrator in System Prefs to create a profile I liked. Although it still appears in the Colorsync Profile folder, it does not show up to be selected in System Preferences with 19 in monitor hooked up.
Why would the old profile not be selectable?
I have tried making a new calibration, but I can't duplicate the old one exactly. What can I do to make the old one selectable, or create a new one just like it?
    Thanks.

Could you possibly have the "Show profiles for this display only" checkbox checked? That would probably prevent the previous profile from showing up in the list.
Otherwise, maybe open the Colorsync Utility (in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder) and use the Profile First Aid pane to verify or repair your profiles.
    Hope this helps...

  • Skype crashes upon call and when i try to change my profile settings

Recently (Or not, it's been like a month) I've been having issues with Skype 7.0 or any versions more recent than that. Every time I host or join a call and every time I try to change my profile picture my Skype goes "Not responding" and seconds later my PC freezes. But legit FREEZES: I can't go to start menu, I can't open windows taskmanager, I can't alt + tab, nothing. I have to hard restart my pc. I've tried downgrading to 6.14 and that works perfectly. Until I turn off my pc and start it up again because for some weird reason, whenever I start my PC and Skype opens up it's back to 7.0 or 7.3 or 7.4, even with automatic updates turned off. I've updated all my drivers, started my PC with nothing plugged in but the power cord and it's still doing the thing. I've been uninstalling Skype and reinstalling 6.14 every day for weeks now, I'm sick of it.  I need help. (I've included my DxDiag since I see a lot of support staff ask for it)

Perhaps information on the issue will be available in the System Information tool (msinfo32). Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type msinfo32.exe and press the OK button. This will open the System Information window.  In this window click on File and select Export. Save the msinfo.txt file to your hard drive, Zip this file and attach the zipped file to your post here.

    Hi  VlH,
According to your description, the issue can be caused by the Profile or Profile Values table.
You can check the event log and ULS log to see detail error message.
To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at

  • Batch change -  Email generation

    Hello Gurus,
I have a requirement related to batch change (MSC2N).  Whenever a user changes batch characteristics on classification tab and hits the save button, an email needs to be generated to a mailing list. This is not required for all the changes though, for example, if there are batch characteristics from A through E, report only when a batch characteristic is changed from B to E and C to E.
Is there a user exit for MSC2n where in I can code this functionality? Please help me, and Thanks a lot in advance.
