Batch change photo dates in Photos for 10.10.3?

If anyone has access to the 10.10.3 beta or has managed to use Photos at all, does it still allow you to batch change photo dates like iPhoto used to? Thanks!

Interesting. I would have thought that the moratorium lifted on press releases and reviews of Photos by a number of tech websites would have applied here as well. I had a little look at the Terms of Use on this website and didn't see any prohibitions on speaking about upcoming products, but perhaps I've missed something. Are those participating in the Developer Preview disallowed from speaking about Photos if major press outlets are not?
Apple does not and cannot control major press outlets.
However, they do control their own products and beta releases are subject to an NDA.

  • Batch Change Photos' Date - Not Time

Is there a way to change a bunch of photos' date, but not the time?

    Neil:
Not in iPhoto. Unfortunately you've go to change the time as well. If there are not too many of them you can do it this way.
1 - move all that you want to redate to the same date to a new roll.
2 - in the Finder copy the folder in the Original folder that represents the roll with the files to be redated to the desktop.
3 - using an application like PhotoInfo batch change the date to whatever you need. It can just add or subtract a specific number of days, months or years to the date as you see fit.
4 - change the name of the folder and import back into iPhoto.
5 - delete the original roll of photos with the incorrect date.
That's about it. It's not too convoluted and can be done. This way the new date will be embedded in the file and stay with it if needed in a new library or other application.

  • Batch change the date

You can batch change the time zone, and you can change the date and time, but can you batch change the date on photos? I would like to change the date on a number of images to a certain date, but I don't want to have to change the date on each one manually one by one.

Your answer solved the issue, but left me perplexed about something else. For the sake of example, I am going to be talking about scanned images here. Now, this may be a totally moot point, because scanned images may behave differently than regular images from a camera regarding date and time. I have changed all of the scans so that the dates are all the same day. This is the day that I scanned the images. However, when I view the project in the Projects browser, the date shows a range from well before the date I set to well after it. This seems very odd to me, because none of the scanned images in the project have the dates shown in the projects browser. Do you know anything about this?

  • How to batch change a date in aperture

Is it possible to batch change a date in aperture the way I do it in iphoto (command option B)?  I dont want relative dates, I want a group of scanned pictures (negatives) to have the same date, but separated by one second.

    Dale,
Aperture does not support this. I wrote a little Apple Script to adjust the data and time like iPhoto and posted it on my web page. You may have a look and take this as a starting point. I wrote the script last year; so it has only been tested with Aperture 3.2.4 and Lion, not with the current version: The script is here: Adjust Date and Time in fixed increments
But no guarantees given for the current Aperture version 3.4.3.

  • Is is possible to batch change photos to original date?

I'm amazed at how mixed up my photo lib is (I'd really like it to be chronological) due to edits and other mysteries. Is there a way to batch change a bunch of photos (I have 11,000 - how many should be in a "batch"?) to revert back to original date taken??? Thanks for any help! Donna

Do Not use Shootshifter on photos already in the iPhoto Library. This will rename the files and that will damage your Library. Every file renamed will be lost to iPhoto.
    Instead, try an experiment:
Export a few of the files from iPhoto and use Graphic Coverter (you can download a Free Trial) to examine them. See what it tells you is the date of the photo. This will tell us if the problem is with the pic or iPhoto.

  • Batch Changing Photo Names and E-mailing them

    Hi
I batch change my photos names in Iphoto to text (I think it is.) So I can date or name events. However when I e-mail the photos to a friend, he receives them with the original numbers that my digital camera had assigned to them.
When I look back to my sent mail folder, the photos are how I had re-named them with the batch change.
I don't get it, can I get some help here as to how I can e-mail photos and have them arrive with their modified names.
    Thanks
    T. Rod

    T. Rod:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You will have to export those photos to a folder on the Desktop with the option to use the Title as the new file name. Then add them to the email. That's the only way to get files with the title as the file name.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Batch change photos in album to lower resolution

I want to burn about 500 photos in an iPhoto album to a CD with Toast. At full res, they would take four disks. I want to lower the resolution so they'll all fit on one disk. Can I batch change the album in iPhoto?

You can only reduce the quality of a file on export. So select the Album and go File -> Export and examine the options in the resulting dialogue.

  • Batch change file date to match exif date

    Hi All-
I recently got a mac pro. Upon importing my photos to iPhoto, the file date for each is set to the date of the import. When using the mac photo screensaver, the date that shows up for everything is the import date, rather than the date the photo was taken.
Is there any way to batch change the pictures so that the file date matches the date the picture was taken?
(Or, a way to have the screensaver use that date
    Thanks,
    -jamie

Interesting, but here is what I found out. I was annoyed because when I sucked in about 1000 JPGs from my camera's memory stick, and then I copied them to my Windows boxen, the file dates were wrong. I was surprised that there isn't an easy way to do this... until your post!! Thanks. *APPLE, Please fix the way "Originals" are stored during iPhoto import*, since something is wrong here. The file dates stored on my memory stick should have been used not the moment I clicked import in iPhoto.
So I moved my jhead to /usr/bin and gave it root ownership and 755 permissions.
All of the pictures seem to be three deep here:
    cd ~/Pictures/iPhoto\ Library/Originals
    ls -lsGrt /*/.jpg
But that is only a small fraction of mine. Most end in .JPG
    ls -lsGrt /*/.JPG
So here is the commands to do the correction of the file date and time. You don't need the find command or that script, although you might need to snoop around and make sure all of your files are here and not any deeper or in some other location. but this should be harmless to run as long as you want to alter every file date.
    jhead -ft /*/.jpg
    jhead -ft /*/.JPG
And that pretty much does it. I don't see any images elsewhere that were brought in by iPhoto 6 on my machine. I looked for MPG files but I don't have any. This is from a video recording camera, so I don't have any MPGs.
So jrsmobile, my mileage varied a lot, since your method missed about 95% of my photos!!

  • Retting Date via Batch Change - sets date to negative year!

    Hello,
This has been a problem for about a year now, and it is getting a bit annoying to deal with. Whenever need to do a batch change (modify original file) to any photo(s), iPhoto will set the picture to the correct month, but to a different date, and 1 minus the year.
If, for example I batch change to 1/26/2010, it will give me 1/9/-2009. It then organizes the pictures as such (putting them before any other photo), but if I "+Get Info+" it shows the correct date.
    Any help?
    Cezn

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.
If that doesn't help rebuild the library as follows: backup and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.
Now try resetting the dates again.

  • Change due date in receivables for credit check

    Hi Sappers!!
Scenario: When SAP performs a credit check for a customer we need that pending receivables
(open items) for this customer which have a concrete payment method, don't use due date
for calculation, instead we want to use invoice date for carrying out the credit check
    calculation.
Is that posible? Is there any user-exit where we can change this date to be used during
credit check control for documents which fulfill this requirement?
We don't want to change permanently the due date for this kind of documents, we only need to take another date into account when performing credit control.
Thanks so much in advance & best regards

Thanks so much for your quickly answer.
Creating a new payment term is not a valid solution because, we don't want to change any date in the financial document. We just only need to use another data only for credit check. Here you have a concrete example:
Invoice created with invoice date 01/12/2009
    Payment method confirming 90 days.
    Base line calculated: 01/03/2010
If we create a new sales order, this open item will not be considered exceeded because due date is still in the future.
We want to consider it as exceeded and the due date would be 01/12/2009 but only for credit check. This "new" due date must not be stored anywhere.
Thanks so much once again & best regards

  • How do you change the date/currency format for every user in OSX 10.6?

I imaged a bunch of mac labs at work only to realize the base image has the date/currency set for United States rather then United Kingdom. The regional settings are correct.
I tried changing it on the local admin account but it does not affect a new user that logs onto an AD account.
Workgroup manager does not seem to offer anything either unless I am missing it.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Uncle,
Page 116 of the Pages'09 User Guide: Control Click the date, Edit Date and Time.
Date and time can also be in a table. Format the table cell.
The User Guide is well worth a read. Download it from the Help menu in Pages.

  • Change order date if output for change order

    Hi guys,
how do i pull the change order date on to the printout only if the output is for change order.I don't know much about change order.i would really appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Cheris,
Assume you mentioned purchase order change date ?
Change document date won't be updated in the purchase order header table(EKKO) or purchase order item table(EKPO).Generally all the changes will updated in the CDHDR (Change doument header table ) with Object value <b>OBJECTID</b>( Doument number ex: purchase order ) , User name of the person responsible in change document <b>USERNAME</b> , Creation date of the change document <b>UDATE</b> and etc,..
In your case consider CDHDR- UDATE filed as change order date. While selecting the updated information from the table make join query bet'n EKKO, EKPO and CDHDR with required combination and show the change order date on the PO printout.
I hope this will helps for you.Thanks.

  • Won't let me change DD date without paying for ser...

I checked before signing up with BT Sport and was told I could set my DD date. This was important as I don't get paid until 23rd and needed money to go out after this date. I signed up for BT Sport in HD through sky digital.
I was given no option to set my DD date and they have set it for 18th. I have no option to change it online.
So I rang them up. After THREE HOURS I finally got through only to be told the only way to change DD date was to go on to monthly payment plan. I agreed to this, only to then be told I had to pay for phone and broadband as well to take advantage of this plan. Even though I don't have either. They're with sky.
So I tried to go through to cancellations but after an hours wait I gave up
    What can I do?

Can no-one help me? Do I REALLY have to pay for phone and broadband without getting it, just to change my DD date?

  • Batch change creation date meta data in Bridge?

In Lightroom i can change the meta data on multiple files to be increased by say 2 minutes and all the creation times are adjusted.  Can this be done in CS4 bridge???

In Bridge you can not change the date created.  That is time stamped by camera when you take the picture.

  • Batch Change Photo's

    Hi,
I am looking to make a number of changes to photo's that I receive to make them web friendly.
I would like to be able to select a bunch of photo's (say around 70), reduce the size on disk, reduce the width to around 500px and also change the photo to black and white.
I know I can do all of it in iPhoto but it requires a number of steps of importing, exporting and re-importing, I wondered if anyone knew of a programme that would do everything I wanted in one go.
    Thanks
    Gavin

    Hi,
    Thanks fro responding so quickly.
I have tried your suggestion but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I selected the file that has all the photo's and Automator copies those pics to the folder I specified but the resizing and colour doesnt work.
I have reduced the automator to just get the photo's and change the colour but that doesnt work for me either.
    Regards
    Gavin
