Batch Classification In CO11N transaction

Hi,
In my scenario the batch number is automatically created during the automatic GR in transaction code CO11N by movement type.In configuration of Batch Valuation I have activated the batch classification in foreground. But while saving the goods movement in CO11N the system is not taking me to the classification screen of the batch.
But if we are doing through MB31 than the system is taking me to the classification screen of the batch.
My purpose is that in the CO11N transaction the system should branch to the classification screen of the batch before saving.
Please guide me on this.
Thanks and Regards,
Anup Dubey

Hi Anup,
Please goto transaction "CORW - Production scheduling profile for batch handling" and select "Classification always in foreground(all batches)" in the classification batches field.
Hope this is useful.
Reward points if useful.
Thanks and regards

  • Batch classification details in Goods receipt

    Hi ,
In my business for some of the materials i have activated the batch management and the batch classification details in the material master record.
For those materials if i am doing the goods receipt system is allowing to post the document if the batch characterstics are not entered. I have to restrict if the batch characterstics are not allowed it should not able to post.
I have made a message setting LB045 active with'E'. then also it is allowing.
Is there any other message settings to be configuered.

If the classification tab can be accessed in MIGO is depending on your customizing IMG > Logistics - General > Batch Management > Batch Valuation > Valuation for Goods Movement in Inventory Management > Activate Batch Classification for Goods Movements in IM
    there you have 5 options:
' ' No branching to batch classification
1 Classification carried out in background (all batches)
2 Classification only in foregr.for mand.charac. (all batches)
3 Classification always in foreground (all batches)
4 Classification in foreground for new batches only
how did you setup it in your system?
from OSS note 519303 - FAQ: Goods movement with Transaction MIGO:
    3. Question:
How does the batch classification work in Transaction MIGO?
    Answer:
When you post or check a goods movement, the system carries out the classification in the background. If you want to process the batch classification online, use the 'Classification' pushbutton. You can find this pushbutton on the 'Batch' tab page in the detail data of the item.
You cannot automatically go from Transaction MIGO to the batch classification dialog. You can use the adjustable system message (Transaction OCHS) LB 045 to ensure that the complete classification data is entered.

  • Batch Classification in MIGO

    Hello,
I'm using enhancement MBCFC004 (user exit EXIT_SAPMM07M_004) in order to fill batch classification in MIGO transaction, when pressing 'Classifications' button in 'Batch' tab.
I've put a break point in the code I've created, but when pressing the classification button nothing happens.
The project and the user-exit are activated.
    What can be the problem.
    Thanks,
    Hagit.

    Hi Hagit!
BADIs are defined (and can be searched with) in transaction SE18.
Own extensions can be implemented with transaction SE19.
Both transactions have little blue 'i'-buttons: press them and you get pretty good help.
    Otherwise look at help.sap.com

  • Different Batch Classification at storage location level

    Dear guru ,
I have tested that i can insert different values of batch classification for the same material and the
same batch number but in different plants.
In MSC1N/MSC2N transaction the system allow a insertion at storage location level.
Itu2019s possible to insert different values of batch classification for the same material , same batch number and the same plant but in different storage locations ?
    Thanks.

    hi,
check in OMCT under which batch level the current system is, if the level is set to be material level or client level, if you make a change to the batch classificaiton, it will reflect in all the plants across the clients.
Batch classification is not maintained at the storage location level.

  • Want to find out how a batch classification is used

    Hello
I have previously sent out a message and the idea given was not very helpful.
    Anyway, this is my question:
I have found a class and its characteristic which was setup in the system and I would like to know how this classification` is being use in the system.
For example, I would like to know which process (i.e. during goods receipt, during sales order creation, during production, during warehouse) is using this classification to perform their transaction.
Do you know how to find out this kind of information in the SAP system?
    Thanks
    Tuff

Do you want to know how the batch classification is used in general in SAP or how it is used in the system where you found it?
In the latter case make an interview with the users, any process that has to do with stock can make use of the batch classification
In general is classification exact what the word "classification" means. You describe something in more detail in an organized way. Classification is a modification free way to add own "fields" to standard objects, the user can immediately search  in classification without an extra effort to develop a search help.
The batch classification can be used in a batch determination to to enable SAP to automatically search for batches with certain characteristics.and assign them to documents like sales order, delivery, goods movements, transfer orders, and production/process orders.

  • Updating Batch classification data from MIGO for Purchase order

    Hi,
I need to update batch classification data (in MSC3n) from MIGO for purchase order. The logic needed for this is as below,
    1) Pass material and batch to MCH1 table to get CUOBJ_BM.
    2) Pass CUOBJ_BM to INOB table to get INOB-OBJEK.
    3) Pass INOB-OBJEK to CLAF_CLASSIFICATION_OF_OBJECTS to get class name & characteristic name.
    4) Pass INOB-OBJEK, CLASS name and characteristic name to BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE to update batch classification data.
I created implicit enhancement at the bottom of FM "CLVF_VB_INSERT_CLASSIFICATION". But the problem is, the return parameter of BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE is giving the following error.
    Class type 023, object type MCH1, object RAW-6             0000001151
Object is currently locked by user
    The assignment was not changed
Please let me know how to do it. Is there any BADI or User Exit?

    Hi,
As you said the break point is not triggering did you activate your exit and activated even the project to which your exit is assigned.
I hope you missed activating your project in CMOD transaction. Please verify it once and if it is not activated then immediately activate it and try debugging again.

  • Batch Classification Screen for Goods Movements

    SAP Gurus,
Very recently (24. April), we experience the following issue: (PP-PI Process Order)
At the moment of process order confirmation, for any new batch assigned in the good movement overview, there's no pop-up of batch classification screen which allow our user to entry the classification data. And this functionality works fine in the past.
Do you have an idea that how it happens? We checked the configuration OMCV and master data as well, the settings are all fine to me.
    Best regards,
    Vincent

    Dear Vincent,
I think you talk about the 101 movement, don't you? In this case this is not possible at all, check SAP note  85310
Because goods movements can be decoupled from confirmations and
processed in background, it was decided that this functionality would
not be implemented; therefore this is Standard R/3.
    Solution
As a work around for this you have the following options:
    1.  Classify your batch manually through Batch Master Maintenance.
    2.  Turn off automatic goods receipt and classify your batch through the
pop-up that is presented during MM goods receipt.
    3.  Do not create your batch during Order Processing. Instead have the
system create it during confirmation and at this time you will be
able to classify your new batch from the Goods Movement screen
        COMPONENT>BATCH MANAGEMENT>CREATE BATCH.
    Note :
If you want that your batch is classified in the background you can set
in the transaction OMCV (classify batches within goods movement
overview) that the classification is to happen in the background. You
can then utilise the user exit EXIT_SAPMM07M_004 to valuate the
characteristics if it is valid for
    your release.

  • Basics for Batch Classification Data

    Hello Experts ,
I have few queries for Batch Classification Data .
    1. Which are the tables where Batch Classification Data for the batches is stored .
2.Which Function module is called once we do the Goods movement which determines the batch
    classification data .
3.When we do stock transfer for batches , then the Batch classification will run in Issuing plant and
the batch classi. data will be copied in the receiving plant . Can you please tell me that which object
carries this data from issuing plant to receiving plant.
4.There is also a user exit with which we can play with Batch classification , can you please give some information on this .
Thank you very much for the help !
    Regards
    Shashank

    1. The table is AUSP - but why would you need to know that. There are good function modules to query, read, change classifications of batches - so why would you like to read directly from DB?
    2. This depends on your release. Typicall in MIGO the module VB_CREATE_BATCH is called, the same one that is called within the BAPI to create batches.
    3. See 2. When you create a batch with reference, you call the same module additionally with the key of the reference batch (this is the issueing batch).
Inside that module are loads of user exits for all kind of purposes.
Why not have a look yourself in Customizing at Logistics General -> Batch Management -> Batch Valuation.
There's the "customer exits for goods movements in inventory management" (this is called e.g. in the goodsmovement bapi and the old transactions)  --> EXIT_SAPMM07M_004
and the  "Valuation of Creation of New Batches Using Function Module" (this is called in the MSCxN and in MIGO) --> EXIT_SAPLV01Z_014 .
In Customizing there's also the documentation what you can achieve with the exits.
    Hope this helps.

    Now I have a issue.
MBCFC004 EXIT_SAPMM07M_004  can work with migo but when I with mb1c to do same transaction it didn't

CLFM0002 EXIT_SAPLCLFM_002  only work when I input a value in the customize  characteristics it can change the input value.
I have set extension in OMCV for my move type. and assigned the bath to material.

but I haven't found any question for my solution.
    please help me.
    thanks a lot.

Class ZBATCH has status 1 (= 'Released') but the customizing of classtype 023 doesn't allow to classify with classes of this status. Settingsfor class status in class type 023 are different from what SAP delivers.Correct please these settings. You may lookup the correct definition of
the class status in class type 022.

  • Batch Classification for Auto GR during Production Order Confirmation

    Dear All,
I have a scenario, where Auto GR has been activated in last operation of an order.Material is batch managed with certain characteristics. When I use CO11n, and go to goods movement tab, batch for 101 movement type is entered but Batch classification pop up doesn't come. For that we need to select the line item, goto extras and create batch, then Pop up for batch classification comes. But,if we do GR with MIGO & MB31, This classification screen automatically in Co11n. i have tried certain exits also, but nothing works.

  • Batch classification in foreground

    Hi friends,
I would like to do batch classification in the foreground at the time of goods receipt in CO11N.
I have done the below mentioned settings in configuration but still the pop is not coming to enter the class characteristics.
    1. Batch classification always in foreground in the movement type settings for 101
    2. batch classification always in foreground for production order.
    3. batch classification always in foreground in production scheduling profile.
    Please assist me..
    Regards,
    Yogesh.

    Hello yogesh,
Normaly we use batch determination at delivery level, because at the time of order material may or may not be created.for this material should be configured with batch and batch determination should be checked in sales views of material.
    Batch Determination during order Creation.
For this you need to maintain a Classes d for you Material. Depending on the Manufacturing process you can define the characteristics for your material.
    The link is self explanatory.

  • Batch classification details

    Hi Experts,
I would liek to ask your help.
We have issue on batch classification details.
During GR, the batch classification details created are not complete, as checked in MSC3N. Why do this happen? Could you kindly help me sort out this problem?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Mylene

    Dear Mylene
Materials Management -> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory -> Movement Types -> Copy, Change Movement Types
It is not plant specific. This will popup a window to enter the values for classification.
You can also use transaction OMCV
Logistics - General -> Batch Management -> Batch Valuation -> Valuation for Goods Movement in Inventory Management -> Activate Batch Classification for Goods Movements in IM.

  • Batch classification in REM

    Hi all
I am doing a MFBF for a batch managed material and want the batch classification to pop up when I try to save the transaction. Is there a way I can do it?

    ya,there is a way out.
    FOLLOW THIS:
SPRO>LOGISTICS>PRODUCTION>REM>BACKFLUSHING>MAINTAIN GLOBAL SETTINGS FOR CONFIRM. & LIS> BATCH CLASSIFICATION ACTIVE FIELD.
Use the field value as '1'.

  • Batch-Classification - Mass Assignment

    Hallo all,
    I created a new Class for Batch-Classification.
Now a would assign this new Class to existing Batches in the System.
Unfortunately I didn't found any "MASS" transaction for this change.
Transaction   MSC2N  has only separatelly usage for it.
Transaction   CLN24N can I use only for the material assignment (material master data - classification for batches).
The direct assignment (Material + Batch) I didn't find there.
I'm still looking for something easier then LSMW is.
My question: is any possibility for MASS assignment for existing batches in the system (except LSMW)?
I'm looking forward of your answers
    Katie

    Hi,
    Thank you for your answer.
Transaction MSC5N could be O.K. for a users, I think, that better is BMBC, because there is the function MSC5N integrated.
But I need only assignment for classification fields (without value) to a batch for 100.000 items
For this action are MSC5N and BMBC useless, because I can assign the fields only manually for every item there.
    Regards
    Katie
