Batch classify music videos

Is there anyway do a whole Batch of Music Videos and label them all at 1 time as music videos instead of 1 at a time??
I have about 22 movies and 40 or so music videos on my ipod. Currently they are all classified as "movies" in the video tab when you right click on a single video or movie. I'd like to reclassify the videos as video but would prefer to do them all in a batch like everything else you can do as a batch, but it seems the apple guys forgot to add video classification in their batch processes.
So, is there any way to classify all my music videos as such in iTunes without having to do them one at a time?

Go to this website--there are hundreds of applescripts to do anything in iTunes: http://dougscripts.com/itunes/

  • How do you Batch change TV Shows/Movies/Music Videos?

    Hi,
I have a bunch of short films in my iTunes library that I want to change to TV Shows, the only way i have found that I can do this is going one by one and changing them. My question is whether or not there is a 3rd party applescript of application that allows me to batch change these video files, within or outside of iTunes.
    Thanks for the help!

  • How do you tell which music video to synch to your iPhone?

I have a number of music videos which I have from various sources (youtube, some of my own dvd's, etc.). In order to keep them separate from regular movies (since the library group does not show music videos separately) I classify them as movies (otherwise they can be anywhere in the library) with the genre of music video. I synch these to my Apple TV with no problem. However, when I copy them to my iPhone Music Video playlist and synch my iPhone they normally will not synch as they aren't in the appropriate format.
I then go back to my movies library, find the video, and create the iphone version. The problem is I now have 2 version of the video - the original (for Apple TV), and the iphone version, both with the same name in iTunes. If I put the incorrect one in the iPhone playlist it of course will not synch, so I have to select the appropriate one. However, since I can't figure out a way to see which is which in iTunes, I have to right-click the song in iTunes to reveal it in the finder. If the original is .mp4 (or anything else) then it has created an .m4v and I put the .m4v in the playlist. However, if the original was also a .m4v then I have 2 .mv4s. If I can't figure out by the timestamp which one is the correct version, I have to copy each to the playlist and see which one synchs.
There has got to be a better way to do this ....

Just got off the phone with Apple support. There is no direct way to do this. Here are the suggested workarounds:
    1. Display the date added. The video with the later date will be the iPhone version.
    2. Display the bit rate. The video with the lower bit rate will generally be the iPhone version.
    3. Create a comment in the Description field as to whether it is an iPhone or Apple TV version. Then create two smart playlists - one which does Apple TV versions and one which does the iPhone version.

  • Music videos don't play back to back

Is there any method to get my music videos to play continuously.  Since upgrade to ios5, my iPad plays 1 video then stops.  Another video has to be selected before it will play.  I want it to play one after the other.  It used to work before the upgrade.

In my case, MY MUSIC VIDEOS WON'T PLAY AT ALL! When i classify the video as movie it does play, but when i classify it as music video it doesn't play anymore. I am so ****** because I am more into music videos, I have almost 100+ music videos on my ipod 4th gen. I went to apple's service center to complain, but they only gave me silly solutions for this. Either I download all those videos again which is crazy, or I wait until apple release an update of ios 5. Grrrr!

  • How to add music videos that are not from the itunes store?

This drives me CRAZY that iTunes will allow me to classify my .mp4 music videos that I get from other sources (NOT bought from the iTunes store) as a Music Video but iTunes STILL keeps it classified under the Movie listing. Does anyone know how I go about or what is needed to get my music video files in the Music Video list?
    While I'm at it...
It also bugs me that I can't organize my library properly. For example, I have a music performance/concert video and instead of having it in a separate list of "Musical Performances", iTunes contains it under Movies. This is a first for me to complain about my iTunes experience but I just wish there would be some flexibility for me to add content and categorize/list it under my personal preferences. Anything wrong with that?

If you go to the Get Info menu and set Video Kind to Music Video it will only appear in your music library, and not in the Movie section.
The tool VideoDrive (www.aroona.net) will automatically classify all your videos when you import them in iTunes, based on file and folder name, the length of the video and other metadata...

  • Music videos shows up as movies. help please

Ok, first of I know the "get info" way of switching movies to music videos but I have 170 music videos it's really a hassle doing one by one, so I'm asking if there's any way to batch switch the the videos to music videos.

Yes. Assuming you are using a mac there is an app called "Parsley is atomically delicious" which can batch edit meta data on video files including the music video thing

  • Adding Lyrics to Music Video Files

It appears that iTunes won't allow lyrics to be added to the Lyrics tab if a file is classified as Music Video under Get Info > Options > Media Kind. All my music video files are flv files. Is there anywhere to circumvent this?

    Check out LOWER THIRDS...
(In the manual... or under the A thingie bottom right side of the Viewer window - pulldown to TEXT - Lower Thirds)
    Good luck,

  • No Audio Playback in Music Videos that were converted from MPEG to MPEG-4

    Friends -
I am using iTunes as the default player for all types of audio files. I have not downloaded any supplemental video or audio Codec files (yet). Windows Media Player (11.0.6001.7000) is my default player for videos. When I recently converted a batch of old music videos from MPEG format to MPEG-4 format, I lost the audio playback on the converted files when trying to play back using iTunes. Audio works fine on the original MPEG files from iTunes. After syncing my Video iPod, the video playback is fine on the MPEG-4 files, but there is still no audio. Any suggestions?

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; more information on this issue is available in this article.

  • My iphone wont let me play songs that I bought from iTunes. It says "The requested URL was not found on this server" How can i play my music also my music videos again?

I bought a few songs and music videos from iTunes, then all of a sudden it wouldn't play and would just skip to the next song. With the music videos it would do the same. Also, this message would show up " The Requested URL could not be found on this server" What does that exactly mean? And what do I need to do to play my music/videos again?

  • My ipod and itunes is no longer showing the music videos i purchased..

im pretty new with ipods and my ipod and itunes arent showing the two music videos i had on there. Even the songs that went with the music videos are no longer on the itunes or my ipod. how do i fix this?
    60 gb video   Windows XP

    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • How do I get Music Video's to play in iTunes on iPad Mini with Shuffle option on Playlists (it's only playing the music not video's)?

Hi. I have got Music Video's on iPad Mini on a Playlist on iTunes. When I use 'shuffle' option the audio of the track is heard but no video is played (only a 'still' from the video). When using the Video option on the desktop, plays videos but does not allow you to 'playlist' them or shuffle them. I can shuffle Music Video playlist on iPhone and on PC. So why not on iPad Mini. Can someone help? Thanks

There does not appear to ba a facilty for this on the iPad. However there are a number of apps that will allow you to create and play video playlists. Try VP Lite which is free.

  • In IO7 how can I view my music videos in full screen?

Downloaded IO7 onto my 4S and now I cannot view my music videos in full screen. Why would I pay $3.39 for a music video from the iTunes store when I can't view the videos in full screen. The video player does it but you can't create playlists, repeat etc so that is not an option.

I do not understand what you want to do.  Please rephrase the question.

  • How can I transfer voice memos from my iPhone 4 without syncing and having all music/video/audiobook content deleted from my phone?

I would like to be able to transfer several very long voice memos from my iPhone 4 to my PC.  They are too long to email to myself. I manage music manually, so the phone doesn't sync automatically.  I have also not checked off "include voice memos" in my music sync preferences because of a warning that pops up which suggests that I will lose all the music, video & audiobook content on my phone and that it will be replaced with all iTunes content. (Several of the audiobooks on my phone were transferred in directly from my library system's audiobook service & I will lose them permanently if they are wiped off the phone.) Is there a way around this? I am able to transfer photographs directly to my computer because my PC recognizes the iPhone as an external disk and I was able to locate the photo folder, but I have no idea of where to look for the voice memo folder in order to transfer them in the same manner.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • Only one music video purchased from itunes is not playing on IPod

I purchased several music videos from itunes and they all seem to sync to my ipod just fine but one of them will not play. The other three I purchased is playing fine both visual and audio but only one will not play at all. When I click on it, the screen just goes black and after several seconds, returns me to the menu listing the name of the video. It plays on my daughter's ipod just fine and we both have the same IPod. I've tried to re-sync and reset but nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me. Thx!

It may be an authorization issue. Both iTunes and the iPod need to be up-to-date.
Usually, you need to play at least a part of songs purchased from the iTMS within iTunes to authorize them. They won't copy to your iPod until you do this.
How to transfer Purchased Music from iTunes to your iPod
    iTMS Song and Computer Authorization
If you've played & authorized them in iTunes and they still skip, try this. De-authorize the computer in iTunes/Advanced menu, then re-authorize it. You re-authorize it by playing one of the songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store within iTunes. It should ask you for your Apple ID and password, and then the computer will be authorized again. Sync your iPod with iTunes, and those songs should play on the iPod once again.
Another common cause of this is not having the latest version of iTunes.
If you are using the latest version of iTunes (6.0.4), then you need to make sure your iPod software is up to date also. Get the iPod Updater software, install it, run it and update your iPod.
When you have done this, authorize your music in iTunes by playing a few seconds of it within iTunes, re-sync your iPod, and it should transfer by whatever synching method you choose.
If the above 'standard' fixes did not help, then it's a bigger problem that I can diagnose...
