Batch Compress without Name Change

If I wanted to take 300 clips from a DSLR and compress them to ProRes (and save in a new destination folder) without changing the names (i.e. appending the transcode type) how would I do this without having to edit the name of each clip individually?
The reason I want to do this is easy reconnect for Proxy vs 422 files in FCP. Batch compress to one directory as Proxy and to another directory (separate batch) as 422.
If the files have the codec type appended FCP won't reconnect to all files automatically.
Any ideas?

The batch process function has changed design recently and I cannot get it to change file names in photoshop cc 2014.
I keep getting new layers in the first file to open instead of a renamed batch.
I would also like to convert files to jpeg and resize ( at the same time ? )

Can't help you with CC, but you cannot change files types by merely changing the extension, regardless of program or version.

Batch rename, name changes after frame 99

Hi, I put a folder into bridge to do a batch rename and called the text MILAN/SYRIA and gave for first number 00.
After frame 99 the name changed to a weird Adobe Bridge Batch Rename Temp 10037
Which you can see better in the RAW windows, the 99 and the following one.
Photoshop doesn't like to open a name like that, can't blame her.

why was my card full at 0485 pictures when a folder I think takes as many as 9999, how do you finish a folder if your card is full?

no,no, i started with 00 two digits only, batch rename changed to 623 after i put the folder back in just in order to take the screenshot, i dont know why but that always happens if i put the folder back in after usage, but i do know for life now that if I am going to take over 100 shots, which is most of the time, i should start with 001 or 000.
See, this is the first number that was given to the first file, 01,WHICH actually became 00, i don't have it here.
So it rest to know where is "Preserve file name " in current metadata, and would that make it possible to revert to the original CR2 number?
Why not to change name straight from the new name? thanks

Batch Classification error - re Customer name change

Dear all,
We have a problem with Batch classification for one customer who has had a name change.
Name of customer changed and search term changed in customer master.
The NEW search term then added as a 'customer suitability Value' into the Batch classification for material, plant and batches.
However when entering these batches onto the delivery note, SAP comes up with BATCH CLASSIFICATION ERROR.
IN order to resolve this, we have had to add the OLD customer suitability/Search term value into the Batch classification
This does not seem to be correct, is there some other change that we need to do ???

and they kindly told us where our error was
We needed to update the new searchterm in transaction VCH3 - Batch search strategy
this involves SHip to, materials
when you hi-lite the grade and click on the selection criteria
The customer suitability in here , which is the search term in customer masterdata, had never ever been updated
problem resolved now

Does obj.firstChild.toString() evaluate to a "name=value" type of String ?
Or better what does obj.firstChild.toString(),'sw' evaluate to ? It has to end up in a name=value format, else its just gibberish appended to the url.
In the jsp, you have to obviously know the name to get the parameter. There's a getParameterNames() method which returns you a Collection of parameter names as Strings, you could probably use that to retrieve the param values.
Then there's a getParameterMap() method which returns an immutable Map containing parameter names as keys and parameter values as map values. The keys in the parameter map are of type String. The values in the parameter map are of type String array.
However to what ends you employ them in a program which doesnt know its inputs is a different story.

When I setup my new MacBook Pro, something slipped by me and my computer was named First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro (using my real first and last name).
I changed the computer name in Preferences/Sharing to a new name and Preferences/Accounts to just be Mike. I can right click on my account name, choose advanced, and see that everything looks right.
However, If I do a scan of my network with my iPhone using the free version of IP Scanner, it lists my computer as First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro! And it lists the user as First-Last.
So even though another Mac just sees my new computer name, and my home folder is Mike, somewhere in the system the original setup with my full name is still stored. And it's available on a network scan. So my full name might show up at a coffee shop.
Can I fully change the name without doing a complete re-install of Lion and all my apps?

One thought... you said the iPhone displayed your computer's old name? I think that you must have used the iPhone with this computer before you changed the name. So no one else's iPhone should display your full name unless that iPhone had previously connected to your Mac. For example, I did this exact same change, and I use the Keynote Remote app to connect with my MacBook Pro. It would no longer link with my MacBook Pro under the old name, and I found that I had to unlink and then create a new link under the new name. So the answer to your question is, there is nothing you need to do on the Mac, but rather the phone, and no other phone will display your full name.

Problem with Batch Compressing

I may be doing something wrong but when I'm batch compressing (15 short films in this instance) Compressor wants to call each one the same name as the first one, even though they are uniquely named. Is this some odd quirk of the programme?
For example if one is called 'film' at the top, when I send the rest off to compress, it puts 'film' in the title box of the others.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me>?

I have to do some changes on my existing report, its really a complex report with more number of columns and tables. now its really hard to fix the alias name changed by report builder automatically. any one could help me to fix this problem, means what i have alias name in query that i want to use in report.

Could you pl clarify the Q? Do you mean that Reports Buider has automatically added an alias to a column name? This is not expected.
Or do you mean that you need to change the alias of the column without disturbing the report definition? You can alter the data model of the report using the feature "Customization at runtime using XML". For more information, refer to Chapter 16 in Publishing Reports Manual for 10g:

AD Security Group name change not showing in Sharepoint 2010

Hi!
We have a Sharepoint 2010 Standard enviroment and are heading for a role-based identity-managment in our company. That's why we find it better to use AD Groups instead of Sharepoint Groups.
So we have over 1000 AD Security Groups groups that have been added to our Sharepoint Sites and our goal is to control every permission in Sharepoint from AD.
I have done all this with the combination of Excel and Powershell and it have worked great.
The problem i see in the long run is the name change of AD Security Groups. Sharepoint 2010 isn't showing the new name of the group.
Does anyone know of any workaround that can solve this problem. It's a bit of a disappointment that Microsoft haven't fixed this. The only information i think they should store in Sharepoint is the SID of the groups.
I was thinking of designing a powershell script that runs every night and updates the display name of the groups that do not match the AD display name.
Is there any other way?

As far as I know, and I'm not sure where to go from here without testing on my own...and I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that. Perhaps a configuration issue.
Have you tried removing the incorrectly named group and adding in the correctly named one?

Bridge name changes don't appear in Lightroom

I changed a bunch of file names in Bidge using Batch rename. The changes appear in bridge and Finder, but not Lightroom. Is there a way to get Lightroom to see the new name?

I think you'd have to import the photos again, after the name change (which could possibly cause you to lose any edits made in Lightroom, and possibly also lose metadata assigned in Lightroom).
Lightroom is not a file browser. Therefore, as a general principle, once you import photos into Lightroom, you need to do all photo management inside of Lightroom and not using your operating system nor another program.

Rename Batch input session name

You will have to contact your BASIS people to get the authorisation to process the file.

I'm am in the process of writing a powershell script to automate our AD User account creation, modification, disabling and deletion. I am trying to figure out how to best deal with name changes with regards to exchange 2010.
I am already able to automatically detect a name change and, rename the object in AD, the first, last and display name as well as the username and upn... so for exchange is it best to handle this through an email address policy to modify their primary smtp,
or is there a way to do it through powershell without disabling the email address policy???
My other question is that if the email address policy where to update the primary SMTP automatically how often with this policy execute? in other word, how long do i have to wait for the primary smtp to change after the account is renamed. Also, if i want
to keep their old email as an alias is that doable through an email address policy or must it be done with powershell.

If you want to require e-mail address policy on a recipient, the only way you can change the primary SMTP address is to change the inputs to that policy. For example, if the policy is
%g.%[email protected], you'll have to change the first and last names for the address to change. If you're scripting account creation, you should consider setting -EmailAddressPolicyEnabled $False and manually managing
the e-mail addresses through your automated process.
Be sure not to remove the old addresses or else users will lose mail addressed to their prior addresses.

Computer name changes incrementally (1, 2, 3...)

Dear Apple Friends,
I have an issue that is affecting all the Macs on my home network: 3 MacBooks (wireless) and an iMac (hardwired) connected to an Apple Airport Extreme dual-band 802.11n/a/b/g 5Ghz/2Ghz wireless router. All the Macs are running Yosemite 10.10, I am running firmware v7.6.4 on the Airport (latest version). We have turned on Back to my Mac, File Sharing, and Screen Sharing (all are used pretty regularly) in the Sharing screen.
So here is what is happening...
All the Macs on our network are having their computer names changed with the suffix of (1), (2), all the way to 6 now.
I have tried resetting our Airport router (turn off/on again) and that seems to stop it for a day but then it starts again.
A few days ago, I did a factory reset on the Airport router per the instructions on the Apple website (hold down reset until it blinks constantly) to clear the router. Sure enough, the names started changing again after about a day.
Sometimes, I will change the name back, and it will rename itself again automatically right after I change it. i.e. John's MacBook Pro => John's MacBook Pro (1)
I have gone so far as to reboot every Mac on the network, shutting off the router, then turning it on again, and the issue returns. I am going to try and set up a DHCP reservation next and see if that helps.
Has anyone else run across this? If so, is this a bug or is there something I'm missing here? Thanks you for your time.

To "fix" I:
First, I turned off networking which was WiFi in my circumstance.
Next, I named my computer back to the original desired name in the "Sharing" system preference without the (n).
Then I added a "--no-namechange" parameter in the /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist.
Unloaded and loaded the deamon:
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist
Last, I reconnected to the network.
Now when I connect to the network instead of getting something like below in the Console.app:
"discoveryd: Basic Bonjour Changing computer name from <hostname> to <hostname> (2)"
This appears in the Console.app:
"discoveryd: Basic Bonjour Would have changed computer name from <hostname> to <hostname> (2), but it's disabled"
I could not find a Yosemite bug filed https://bugreport.apple.com/, but this site helped me hack my solution:
