Batch file rename. I have multiple files I want to rename, that have a date in their name in the mm/dd/yy format. The slashes seem to freak out the batch rename function. Any workarounds that would help me avoid manually changing each name?

The slashes seem to freak out the batch rename function and it won't work. I took out the slashes and worked fine. Any workarounds that would help me avoid manually changing each name? I should point out that I want to leave most of the name intact just change the first word in each name. Also the files I'm working with are in PDF format.
That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

I wanted if someone connects to WLAN "MO-GUEST" automatically the user should be redirected to http://10.229.3.99/login.html and once authenticated by 10.229.3.99 , he/she should be allowed to access anything as normal. My daughter is using old round airport at college. I set it up originally without password protection because my macbook was too new to recognize the old style airport. I have an old iBook and I understand I can use that to set the passsword. But I can't seem to figure out even using the Airport admin how to establish a password. Any suggestions? Thanks.
If it even has that built-in, you would configure it using Airport Utility. It would likely be in the Wireless configuration for first turning on security and then setting the required password. For Macs you should use WPA Personal if the option is present.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. iTunes does not get info from the internet unless you are ripping from a CD and it queries the Gracenote/CDDB database. Itunes is too stupid to update songs automatically once they have been added to your library.
I saw the exact same thing as you described, hex numbers in the comments field such as "000B 0A4D 302C...."and it was caused by a WMP update and the settings going back to default. It also filled in composer information, Album Artist, and deleted the track x of y information.
You may think itunes is doing it because these changes also show in itunes after WMP has done its work.
If WMP is still doing this, make sure those options are turned off for all Windows user logins on the PC.

I am running an older machine OS 10.6.8. I can no longer snyc my iphone. It tells me to download the latest itune which I don't seem to be able to do. Someone told me that my OS is too old. True?
You can use the latest iTunes (11.1.3) on 10.6.8 - if Software Update doesn't provide it (which it should) then you can download it from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

(PLEASE HELP)Can Acrobat X pro do a Batch Conversion to Word? (multiple file conversion)
I am trying to convert multiple PDF files to word using Acrobat X Pro and I am not sure if it is capable of doing this process. I have tried doing one file and it works great even on files that have colums and tables but I cant figure out how to convert alot of them at once. Do I need to buy a thrid party software to achieve this task? PLEASE HELP ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY
Use the Action Wizard (in the Tools pane) to create a new Action.
In the Edit Action dialog, on the right side, there are three panes.
Look to the third (bottom) pane (for "Save To").
At the far right of the "Save to:" line is an icon - click it to open a configuration dialog.
The configuration dialog (Output Options) has a selection at the botto - "Export File(s) to Alternate Format".
Tick this selection and use the drop-down menu for "Export to:" to select the format.
Amoung others you have RTF, Text, Word 97-2003, and Word Document (i.e., *.docx).
Similarly, use the "Start with" configuration tool to select supported file formats for batch processing to PDF via an Action.

I have 2 of each of these files: iTunes preferences, iTunes library extras, iTunes library genius, iTunes library, iTunes Music library, sentinel and I have 2 folders that are named album artwork. I tried to delete one of each but then everything got deleted from itunes but good thing that I had the files so I got everything back. Why is it that I have more than one of these files and where should these files be located in? because I have the files in different places in the music library. Please help me...I really do not want to mess things up so I'm afraid to even touch these files.
I'm not aware of a way to run multiple instances or different versions of photoshop at the same time on windows.
Assuming of course they are all installed on the same operating system.
On mac versions you can running two different versions of photoshop at the same time, but i don't think that's possible on windows where it

ZIP File has damaged contents - Multiple file download

I am using ZIP API in Web Dynpro JAVA for multiple file download scenario.
Issue:--->
Some files are not opening correctly after unzipping the ZIP file.
Example-1: some PDF files gives out message that " "
Example-2: Also, a JPG file shows only upper half of the image.
So in all, the content of generated ZIP file are damaged.
Any idea why this is happening?

Filer warning of creating multiple files even though only one is created
I'm using the Apt tool with a custom program that I wrote to autogenerate some Java classes for my project. Unfortunately, the Filer is throwing a warning. Even thought the below code is only called once, I get a multiple create warning. Any ideas what's causing this?

Once I handled the case of the reentrant call to process(), I was able to avlid this warning.

Is it possible to have multiple lines on a phone but only have one of the number ring on that phone?
I have a client who has four number on his phone. Extension 4709 is the clients number. He also has 4715,4725 and 4712 on his phone. Is it possible to make it so only 4709 will ring on his phone? The client is running CME 10.0

I have a Seagate 2TB external hard drive with 3 partitions, one for Snow Leopard - my computer has Lion. I cannot seem to boot from this hard drive but I could yesterday. Any ideas?
Didnt help. The night I asked this question I was able to reboot from the external hard drive after running Disk repair (which said everything was fine). Tonight I have tried again and cannot boot from the external. So I tried the Safe Mode restart and then chose restart with the option key held down as well as shutting down and trying holding down the option key while turning on the power. I have never been able to reboot just choosing restart and holding down the option key. Whenever the reboot from the external has worked I've had to shut down and hold the option key while turning the power on. Now that is not working. My computer is brand new as is the hard drive. I don't know where to go from here.
I can access the drive just fine while I'm in Lion. I just can't boot up using it. Help! -

Read your manual (you have a bookmark to it in Safari on your iPhone or put iBooks on your iPhone and download the manual from the iBookStore) and it will show you how to remove the microSIM from your iPhone. AT&T is not tourist friendly and does not offer a pay as you go plan for visitors with an iPhone. If you are going to be here for a short time you can probably buy a pay as you go microSIM and use it before AT&T notices, if it is going to be for a long time that won't work.
There is a 3rd party company that will sell you a microSIM that will work with AT&T but they are pretty pricey.
Finally, you can get a pay as you go microSIM from T-Mobile to work with your iPhone but you will only have EDGE data speeds.
