Batch image updating

I am hoping someone has an answer for me. I am having to make
a slight change on every slide for several different captivate
files. At least over 1000 images. I have a set up a batch action in
photoshop to change the images. My question is there a way to tell
the Captivate to look in a certain folder for the images without
having to manually click on each one and tell where it resides on
my computer?

Assuming the image you are working with was added to
Captivate initially from a location on your hard drive, sure. But
I'm skeptical that's the case. Most Captivate projects work by
recording screen actions. So each image is really a background
image for the slide.
But let's assume you did import images from a location on
your hard drive. And let's further assume the image is used in
nearly every slide. If this were to be the case, the solution would
probably be as simple as editing the image on the hard drive and
saving the changes. Then back in Captivate, you would locate the
image in the Library and right-click it. Then choose Update... from
the context menu. This action would cause the image in Captivate to
synchronize with the one on the hard drive.

Batch not updated in process order

hi all,
When i am doing batch determination and goods issue through coik pick list batch not update in process order. presently we are not doing batch determination in process order.after goods issue component batch fields are grey out in the process order

Batch field are filled only if you do Batch determiantion of components whether it is by auto or manual.And it is logical also becasue if you split the material qty. in more than one batches during goods issue( whether it is in COIK or in COR6N)then think what should be the case in Component screen in process order?
As soon as you complete the Goods Issue This field becomes gray but the filled of Quanity withdrawn is update with qty you have withdraw.

Batch Image Conversion

Can iPhoto 4.x do batch image conversion of JPGs to TIFFs, and vice versa?
Is there freeware for Apple Macs that can do this? Photoshop is too rich for my blood.

The destination is marked "none". I've been doing this correctly all day so I don't know why it has started doing this! Help please

Problems with network access after applying batch of updates

Hi all,
Yesterday, I've applied a batch of updates to my Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V server. All went good, but after the reboot I was not able to access... Microsoft website for update download, or WSUS to Report and detect updates.
For my troubleshooting I did:
ping www.microsoft.com (DNS goes well)
With Wireshark running, did a http request to www.microsoft.com and I don't see any request leaving the NIC. This goes to *.microsoft.com
This happens either with or without Proxy set up.
I've reset Internet Explorer Settings, all with no luck.
When trying over our WSUS, I get error 80244019, and with wireshark I can see that WSUS may not be able to get the updates because it is replying with 404 not found.

Seems to me two issues here. One I might workaround with deleting the WSUS content, and let WSUS resync(may solve).
The other... It's strange because can't seem to have www.microsoft.com leave my nic...
As part of the troubleshooting, I have two nics teamed, 1 nic for live migration, 1 nic for cluster network, and teaming, obviously has itself a single default gateway.
What can I do to go forward?
PS: One last finding. In WSUS this server does not report since 13th January at 11:00 a.m. I've forced it to report, and still no update/report

Do you mean that you can't see a HTTP request of
www.microsoft.com when you access it with Internet Explorer?
Can you successfully access the www.microsoft.com with the Internet Explorer? If yes, it should be normal. Because
www.microsoft.com is a CNAME.

Please try to update from Microsoft Update. Then post the windowsupdate.log here. It may give some hints.

Has imaging update driver been replicated to satellite

Hi,
I'm new to the world of zenworks and linux, so i don't know too much.
We're currently running zenworks 11.2.3 and i recently installed the imaging update driver on our primaries.
Now that i have done that, how do i check if it has been replicated properly to the satellite servers?
We are running zenworks on a SLES setup
We have had some issues regarding the imaging of some of our pc models and i was recommended to do this update, that is why i want to check if it has been applied to the satellite servers.

You could check the files in the /srv/tftp/boot folder, do they have
the same time/version as the ones on your primary servers?

Wrong imaging update

I've updated my imaging server to ZCM 3.0
I am trying to apply the latest imaging update.
oN the download site I see:
zenworks11.3.1_Oct14.zip applies to ZCM 11.3.0, ZCM 11.3.0 FRU1, ZCM 11.3.1 and 11.3.1 FRU1
The closes match to this file name available is zenworks11.3.1_FRU1_Oct14.zip
I downloaded this and tried this. When I try to apply it I get an error telling me this is the wrong driver update.
I tried the update for 11.2.4 (this was the ZCM version before I upgraded to 11.3) but that also fails with the same error.

Batch image processing from bridge cause photoshop to crash

But first it goes ahead and processes the images selected in Bridge. All of them like even over a hundred at a time (great time saver!). Then displays a message for each image in one error dialogue saying, "Sorry Photoshop couldn't process the image. . ." for each image.
It also saves the images to the a folder above (in hierarchy) instead of the folder I select in the batch dialogue. I've tried using Batch process from within Photoshop and get the same result as image process from Bridge.
While I am able to do the processing I need, it's annoying to have the force quit Photoshop each time, and Then to move the processed images where they belong.
I am on a G5, 4mb ram, OSX 10.4.11. Photoshop CS3 #10.0.1, and bridge CS3 # 2.1.1.9.
I usually do the updates when I'm alerted, but haven't heard of anything recently.
Any ideas?

OK - maybe this will shed some light
Try changing the size to something very small.- see below
Try changing the compression. Not affected by the level of Quality (2% 50% or 100%) - all fail to load
Try changing whether a color-profile is embedded or not. Not an option AFAIK in LR Export
Try changing if the metadata is minimized or not. Not an option AFAIK in LR Export
Try changing if the JPGs are exported relative to the source image or some fixed location. Exported to a specific location.
If I use the Image export resize option it loads OK (resize to 1000*673 from 3916*2634).
Older exports (from LR2.3 and earlier, of the same size image, and source DNG are OK)
A centre crop from the Image (1205*691) is OK. A marginal crop (2 edges) (3838*2552) is OK whereas a very slight crop at (3693*2614) FAILS
The camera is Leica M8, images is in Leica RAW format (DNG).
It appears to be function of Image export size (reduced either by Cropping or by 'Resizing on Export'

Canon 400D RAW & Image Capture & raw image update - Fail

I got my macbook pro about a month ago and of course was anxious to try out my camera ( Canon EOS 400D). I'm using RAW images. It worked fine. No problems.
But then comes the update a week or two ago. Of course I download it, it's an update... What could go wrong . Then, today, I connect my camera again to download some photos I took. Image capture launches as usual, but what happens when I try to download (some/all, no difference) the photos from the camera? Nothing! The program hangs up and Force Quite Applications says (Not Responding).
Well, I'd try with iPhoto, but no success, because the camera is no longer recognized. I reboot the computer and try again. Yippee! The camera is recognized again, but there is no success with downloading the images. Actually iPhoto doesn't even show the images in camera.
What to do? Anyone's got the same problem? Can I 'downdate' the system to get rid of the latest RAW update?
I do not own a memorycard reader because this method has been working always until today.
Oh yes, the camera is ok, because it works flawlessly with Windows XP and Vista.

I use Adobe Bridge + Photoshop to process RAW images. I really don't think the only answer to get by this problem is to buy more equipment, it's not the right way. There's a bug in OS and it should be fixed .
Anyway, I'm going to get the card reader, but I'm still waiting for this problem to be fixed some time in the future. If not for me, but for the new Apple users that have got used to connecting the USB-cord between computer and camera and everything works fluenty after that.

Photoshop CS3, wanting to batch re-size JPGs, going: file-scripts-image processor, the batch images are greyed out can't be highlighted

Hi - I am trying to batch re-size JPGs in CS3. I go: file-scripts-image processor and select a batch of JPGs but these are greyed out and can't be highlighted, therefore can't be re-sized. This function worked in the past and suddenly does not. Reading forums on this topic I find I should remove/trash 'Photoshop Preferences'. But I am struggling to find Photoshop Preferences. Really would appreciate simple instructions written for the layman not a computer savvy individual, on how/where to locate these, please. Many thanks.

A few things to try.
1)Since jpg's are finiky with bit modes, make sure your mode is in 8-bits per channel only. (found in the image>mode menu)
2)you could try resetting the preferences by using the 3 modifier keys at startup. ctrl-alt-shift(windows) cmd-opt-shift(mac) Hold these three keys down when you start photoshop if done right when photoshop starts you should get a dialog box asking if you want to reset the preferences)
3)If these do not help specify the version of photoshop, what OS you have and its version. Then someone can tell you the location of the preference files since it is different on windows vs. a mac.

Payment through payment batch table update

Hi all ,
my user mistakenly choose whole invoices as he was creating payment through batches in oracle
payables payment batches. Now when we choose any supplier to payment, it did not select the invoices.
I search some table like
ap_checks, ap_inovice_payments_all,
I did not found any invoices against that supplier.
Kindly tell me more table which it update during selected phase in batching, so that i may check if it select my
supplier.

My batch was not completed sucessfuly. However I delete it from backend.
Now I also find no invoice against abs supplier in ap_invoice_payments_all,
but again when I create payment i did not find any invoice.
Please guide, how to sort out it.

Issues with Library images updating in Captivate

Getting some update issues with the Library. This used to
work, but is now working only intermittently.
I will locate a background slide in the library, then hit
CTRL+U to open it in Photoshop. I'll make my edits in Photoshop,
then save and close the Window in Pshop. This used to bring me back
into Captivate, and I would see the correct image in the main
editing screen. However, now when I come back into Captivate, the
main editing screen will not show the edits, nor will the thumbnail
on the left side. If I pres CTRL+U to open the image back in
Photoshop, Photoshop shows the new edits, but not Captivate's
design mode. The images DO show up when I finally publish, but I
can't publish every time I need to check to see whether the edit
made it over. Also, if I select the image in the Library and click
the Update button, I get an "image cannot be updated" error
message.
What was a very nice feature is now causing mucho frustration
because it isn't working consistently.
Any thoughts? I've supposedly updated to patch 3.2, though
Captivate is only showing 3.0.1.589.

...but the thing that really bugs me is that this a workaround
for functionality that is supposed to work.
I agree completely. Unfortunately, last time I checked,
Captivate was software. And well, you know. Sometimes things don't
work expected with software so we find workarounds to overcome what
fails.
At this point the best course of action is to use the
workaround since the other method is failing. Then be certain to
report the issue to Adobe via their official preferred channel.

New Preview (image) update - not user friendly .

New Preview software.
Apple's new update to Preview is annoying - very annoying.
a. In the 'File options' it says "Save a Version". Now that sounds like "Save a New Version", so it never does what I want. Why not call it "Save", like it always was? However, "Save a New Version" is what I really want - see below.
b. The new update of Preview can no longer change the file size, when you do a "Save", and neither can you place the file in another folder. So to alter a fils size, you have to "Duplicate" the image, and then rename it back to the old name, and then save it again, writing over the old version - just to change the file size. Why?
c. And when you save an image to jpeg, Preview no longer says how big the file size will be (the old version did). So you have to guess a jpeg compression. Why?
d. And Preview will not say how many pixels are in the image either (see below). Why?
One of the biggest tasks I have is getting images to the right size - as a balance between customer quality and the total file size of the pdf or epub file (Amazon have a limit of 50 mb on epub books). This task is crucial, and yet I can no longer use Preview to do it, because it takes too long - duplicating images and resaving them, and then not even knowing how big the exported file will be.
I now have to use Photoshop, which takes much longer than the old version of Preview, but is a darn sight quicker than the new version of Preview. With Photoshop it still overwrites the old file instead of having to duplicate and rename (most of the time) and it says how big the output file will be (so you can alter the jpeg compression until you reach the file size you want - before you save the new file).
Likewise, Photoshop allows adjustments to the pixel numbers, and Preview does not. Apple iBooks has a 2 million pixel image limit for its epub files. But then Apple provides an image software package that will not say how many pixels are in the image. Are Apple departments talking to each other?
Some of these complaints, about the complexity of saving of files, also applies to Pages software. Again the options are simply "Save" , "Duplicate" or "Export". But I don't want that. What I want is "Save New Version", which then gives the option of changing the file type, the file size, and of placing the new (almost duplicated) file in a new folder.
Again, the trouble with the "Duplicate" option is that is renames the file as "untitled-8.pages", which I now have to rename back to what it was before, and then save to a new folder. And you often get a load of "untitled.pages" files hanging around the place, which you don't know if you have saved or not.
And why cannot I use Appleworks? It was ten times better than Pages.

Totally agreed, I downloaded the new version and it was a frustration. After hours wrestling with this new i-stunned version i haven't been able to add 1 gb video clip (mp4) to my Ipad 2! My patience runs out and i give up. Now I switch to android phablet note ii it so easy to use with many nice features and specifications. Importantly, it have saved me a lot of precious time and i have a lot fun with it!
