Batch Managment at Plant

Hi, good day
If somebody know about, how can I do to make the choice Batch management at MM01 is only at the Plant and not in general.
That is, a material is with Batch management in a Plant and another Plant the same material without Batch management.
If anyone has an idea about this, please anything would be helpful

Hi,
Yes, it is possible only for whole plant not for a particular material in a plant. if it is active at a plant level then system will ask for batch.
Batch Management can be activated in three levels. They are
1. Client Level
2. Plant Level
3. Material Level
At plant level, the batch number is unique in conjunction
with the respective material and the plant.
At Material level, the batches are unique at material level, that is, the batch is independent of any plant. The same batch
number can also be assigned to another material.
At client level, the batch number is unique in the whole client. It indicates that batches are managed uniquely for
exactly one material, that is, independently of the plant, the same batch can exist only once for all materials.
Example
a) Plant 1000 item code A Batch 1
b) Plant 2000 item code A Batch 1
IMG -->  Logistics General --> Batch Management --> Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management
Hope Help  U !!!

  • Inventory Count for Batch Managed materials - Plant, S.Loc and Batch Wise

    Hi.,
In the company's current scenario, the printing of batch managed materials are scheduled under 3 Job names.
    1. First job determines the materials/batches that need to be created today using Program RM07ICN1
    2. Second Job Processes the BDC Session created by Program RM07ICN1 using Program: RSBDCSUB
    3. Third Job prints the Inventory tickts at the appropriate Storage location using Program: RM07IDRU
Each Job has its own variant.
The Variant for SL.No 1 is defined w.r.t
    i. Material Type : Two Material types have been defined
ii. Under selection variable, GIDAT ( Planned count date and GBDAT are flagged.
    Current Analysis:
    A. The inventory documents get printed with Materials as per the cycle counting indicators defined which govern which material has to be currently counted.
    B. Inventory documents are generated for all materials in all the plants and in all the storage locations
    C. Batches for a material number may print on different cycle count documents throughout the year.
    Customer requirement:
The inventory documents to print on basis of
    1. Material, Plant and S.Loc.
This would help in identifying the batches which are currently being counted as well.
    2. Customers requirement is to ensure that all batches are accounted for and will identify any overage of batches since in the current process, they are never reviewed as a whole.
    QUESTION:
    1. How to configure the Customer requriement.
    2. How to configure the Variant/s, if thats the place the configuration has to be done to satisfy the customer.
    3. How to activate the Variant in SE37 after definition in the Step Indicator. Does it activate on execution?
When i run the Program using SE38 , maintaining options in the Screen ( giving Material, Plant and S.loc), i get the desired list (Batches w.r.t Material,plant.S.Loc). But there is a list of over 150 Batch managed materials and it would not be physically possible to maintain the variant for each each Material, plant,S.loc wise.
Is there a way to configure the customer requirement/s.
Any and all help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello Mahesh,
<b>Customer requrirement is specific, they want a list of Inventory Documents to be generated on basis of Material in each Plant-S.Loc batch wise.</b>
Then you need to define multiple varinat for the program.
<b>(a) If i am giving two variants in the same Program name RM07ICN1, how to execute one after after in sequence.
In testing, I have defined in the " Step", Progran RM07ICN1 with one variant and Program RM07ICN1 with another Variant. But on execution of Program RM07ICN1 thru SE38, the screen defined latter ( second variant screen data ) is displayed.</b>
You need to define several steps in SM36 transaction for the program using each variant. SE38 you can use only to save your variant data so later you can use this variant in SM36.
Once you schedule the job with SM36 and release it then it will automatically execute this job as per your criteria (timeline)
    Hope this helps.

  • Batch Management at Plant Level

    Hi,
I need to activate batch management only for the DC. All the other plants are not batch managed. I have maintained the Batch at plant level. Where now do I indicate that only the DC plant is to be activated?
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi SantoshSP,
I have maintained the tick in the material master. But this is not specific to the plant data. How will it know to which plant it must be batch managed?
    Thanks,

  • Stock transfer between Batch and Non Batch managed Plants

    Hi
Plant A is Batch Managed and Plant B is not batch managed.
When I do STO, I want the Batch data from Plant A to be stored in some custom tables (when Inbound delivery is received in Plant B) as it is required for any recall and outbound purposes.
Batch level is unique at Plant level.
Please advise how can I go through the above scenario.
    Thanks
    Prabhakar

    Hi Prabhakar
In STO, the supplying plant is the vendor (batch managed).
So, you may workout for an enhancement to fetch the supplying plant's batch number on to the vendor batch (Field: LICHA) during Goods receipt.
However, incase multiple batches, you should look for lines items in goods receipt.

  • Valuation type with batch management.

    Dear all:
We have created our self valuation category D, without automatic valuation type.
From what we have checked, it is mandatory to enter a valuation type during batch creation with MSC1N. This link between batch master and valuation type is impossible to change.
Our plan was to employ 2 valuation types, independently of the batch used, so that with a STO we could be able to post and outbound movement from valuation type A and a subsequent inbound goods receipt of valuation type B.
That's a problem for us as we use batch numbers to refer to certain material features, and those shouldn't change given the valuation type, so that it is mandatory for us to use the same batch number for both valuation types. Given that the link between batch master and valuation type is unbreakable, this looks not possible.
We already tried to de-activate the valuation type as a required field during the batch creation, but it didn't work as the field still needed an entry during the saving. There are also several error messages that would need to be de-activated (M7043, 06649...)
If we cannot use two valuation types with the same batch, is there any solution we can manage, besides of the duplication of batch numbers?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, Jürgen, thanks for your comments.
We have as well the batch management at plant level, but our idea was to use split valuation in order to avoid the use of plant as the minimum valuation level, as this would have further issues regarding the logistic side (we can use the stock determination group to solve this when using split valuation).
So we face the problem that with a given batch number we cannot post movements with two different valuation types.
I'll take a look at the note anyway, thanks for your help.

  • Batch Managment Activation

    Hi, friends
I want to activate Batch management at plant level.but there is stock in current period as well as previous period(in marterial master plant stock view).Stock exist unresticted stock, stock at vendor ,Quality Inspection stock. How i will do Zero stock at previous period.
    Regards,
    Kamlesh

    Hi
Batchmanagement activation or deactivation should be done initially.
First go to MM02 & try to activate batch , then the system will give error log.
    Read the same.
It looks not only stcoks some other open documents also shouldhave been there.
In that case you have to close all those to activate bacth.
    Please try in above lines.

  • Batch management active

    Hi, friends
I want to activate Batch management at plant level.but there is stock  in current period as well as previous period(in marterial master plant stock view).Stock exist unresticted stock, stock at vendor ,Quality Inspection stock. How i will do Zero stock at previous period.
    Regards,

    Hi,
I you want to activate the batch management, there should be any quants (stocks) left in the storage location, there should not be any open items etc.
You need to take out the whole stock out of the storage location and then try to activate the batch at plant and sloc level, and then you activate the materials in the material master.
    Hope it works.

  • Batch Management Procedure

    hi all,
can any body explain me how to configure batch management in MM? Is there any types in Batches. i need full settings to do in MM. i will be great full to all in advance.

You have to activate Batch management in Plants,
Activate the Batch Management level, Client level, Material Level, Plant Level.
    Specify Batch Number Range
and follow the following steps in SPRO
Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management
    Batch Master
    Batch Number Assignment
    Creation of New Batches
    Batch Valuation
    Batch Status Management
    Batch Determination and Batch Check
    Batch Where-Used List
    Shelf Life Expiration Date (SLED)
It is used to have the characterisitics of the batch like Solubility, thickness, any other such.
It is used to back track easily, which material which batch has consumed in a specific batch.
It is easy to recall a specific batch when a problem is noticed in a batch.
It is used to segregate materials basing on Shelf life expiry date.
These are some of the cases.
    Hope this helps you.

  • How to deactivate batch management at material master?

    Dear Sir/Madam,
At the configuration,I have set "Batch Management" to be activated in plant level.  I have a problem which some of the plants do not use batch management.I understand that if you tick "Batch Management" field in material master, batch management is activated for the material in that plant.
    1. How do prevent user to tick "Batch Management" field in the material master which appears in the following views (depending on the material types):?
    - Sales: General/Plant
    - Purchasing
    - Plant data/Stor.1
    - Work Scheduling
    2. Is there any alternate way to prevent user to activate "Batch Management" in that material of their own plant despite it is activated at plant level in the configuration?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Rgds,
    Esther Chong

batch status management is just what its name says, you manage your batches with status (unreastricted use, restricted use).
But his comes only into place after you have activated batch managment, it is not causing batch managment, it is only working with batch managment.
Removing batch managment is almost impossible, you have to archive all batches first, to be able to archive the batches, you have to archive the production orders...creation of a new material is in most cases easier and quicker.
Wit batch managment at plant level each plant can independently decide if a material is batch managed or not.
if you want to restrict the entry of the batch management flag, then you have to customize your material master field selection at plant level.

  • Batch Management in master data

    Hi guys,
The company need active batch management function,So I configure the batch management in Plant leve. And I am sure the configration is right.
The problem is : Material have open business documents and inventory. So I close all open documents and issue all inventory to cost center.
Now I check inventory and quantity is zero.
But when i active bacth management in plant/location view. The system show erro message : M3530 . and system say inventroy in plant is not zero.
So I debug program. I find out system inter table catch inventory from MARD, the inter table field is not zero . But MARD all field value is zero when i query it in se16.
    Why?
    So anybody can help me?
    System version is ECC 6.0
    Thanks !

If you debugged the program and didn't find it, then you missed to look at the correct field.
SAP checks always for stocks in current and in previous period, as it is possible to post into one previous period.
Best you go into your material master with MM03 and select the plant stock view, there you should find a field that shows your previous period stock.
Alternative you can find it in MARD as well, the MARD record has previous period stock in following fields:
    VMLAB
    VMUML
    VMINS
    VMEIN
    VMSPE
    VMRET
you have to issue the previous period stock first, then the remaining quantity in the current period.

  • Batch Management in different plants

    Hey SAPers
I am using batch managment for certain materials. But I don't need batch management of same materials in other plant. SAP is not allowing to change the status in other plants.
Business needs to maintain materials in batches in warehouse but not in stores.
Do we have a way out for this problem.
    Please respond.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    MAM.

    dear abdul
You can manage batches in different plants for many materials. For this reason, batches must be uniquely identifiable. In the SAP System, the batch number uniquely identifies the batch. You use the batch level to specify whether the batch number for a material is unique in one plant, or in all plants.
You choose the batch level in Customizing for Batch Management under Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management
    Batch Levels
    Plant level
The batch number is unique in connection with the plant and material.
The batch number is only known in the plant in which it was created if the stock is transferred to another plant, the batch is unknown in the recipient plant and the system does not adopt any data. You have to recreate and specify the batch in the receiving plant; that is, the same batch number may have different specifications in several plants.
    Material level:
The batch number is unique in all plants in connection with the material.
The same batch number has the same meaning for the material in all plants. One batch number cannot have different specifications in different plants. During stock transfer to another plant, the specification of the batch is known in the destination plant even if the batch is placed into storage in that plant for the first time.
    Client level:
The batch number is unique in the whole client. A batch number can only be assigned once in the client. You cannot assign the same batch number for different materials.
The batch number is only unique at the chosen level.
    Changing the Batch Level
In the standard SAP System, the plant level is set as the batch level. If you want to use a different level in your company, you have to change it in Customizing and carry out a conversion program.
You choose the batch level in Customizing for Batch Management under Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management.
While the conversion program is running, you can only post batches at the old level. You can only post batches at the new level after the conversion has been completed.
You cannot change back from a higher level to plant level in the standard system. However, you can change the batch level from client level back to material level.
To change the batch level from plant level to material level, the material has to be subject to batch management in all plants.
This will help you for config setting:

  • Batch Management @ Plant level in ECC 6.0

    Hi,
I want activate the Batch Management @ Plant level in ECC 6.0 and when select the Plant level and save it , i am getting the information error like " THIS Type of conversion is not Yet Activated" .
So i needs to activat @ plant level , what i needs to do for further.........
    Thanks & Regards

    Defining Batch Level
    Use
This transaction enables you to set the batch level for batch management. Three unique options for a material are available:
    u2022     At plant level
    u2022     At material level
    u2022     At client level
    Prerequisites
If the material or client level for a material is chosen, check that no materials exist in stock. If a material exists in stock, the level may not be changeable.
IMG Menu     Logistics - General >  Batch Management > Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management

  • Mandatory field FOR SOME PLANTS - batch management - MARC-XCHPF

I know you can force material master fields to be mandatory in SAP.  I am not positive that you can force batch management MARC-XCHPF for some of your plants but not all?
plant A - field does not exist
plant B-C - field exists and should always be checked for HALBs

    yes you can achive that
first check which field selection key is assigned to your plant
then go to tcode OMS9 and select the field selectin  key for your plant and then search the batch manag. field and make it required
3 factors affect the field status
1> matrail type field selection key
    2>plant field selection key
    3>industry sector filed selection key
as your requirement is plant specific then you need to mak ethe batch. filed mandatory using that

  • Changing Batch Management Level from Material to Plant

    Hi all,
We are investigating changing our batch management level from material to plant to meet business requirements.
SAP has pointed us to a note with a program to reset the batch level, as well as highlighting some things to look out for.
I've conducted the change in a playpen system and so far it looks relatively straightforward, with complexities arising only when characteristics exist, or when a batch exists in multiple plants.
Seems that batch master data is moved from MCH1 to MCHA, including the object link number to classification. Unfortunately it seems a limitation of the conversion is that the batch master data is copied to ONE plant only in MCHA, no doubt due to the fact the object number link to classification must be unique.
My question is this: has anyone performed this change before, and if so can you offer me any advice on what to look out for, or potential problems that arose after the change?
Any help or comments are appreciated.
    Mark.

    hi..
first of all try this simple one...
You will have to delete all the materials, remove stock and then switch the batch management flag.
    Or
To convert the batch from plant level to material there is Conversion Program defind by the SAP...
    1. For all releases lower than Release 4.5B, implement the corrections and the modification in the report RM07CHDX as described in the correction instructions.
    2. Create the report ZCHTCUCH, which is specified in the attachment.
    3. Run this report in the clients for which you want to reset batch level to plant level.
    4. Call transaction OMCT.
    5. Check whether the batch level for "Batch unique at plant level" is set.
    6. Implement Notes 821891, 944278, 950540 and 1091613 if you have not already done so (or you have not imported the corresponding Support Package).
    7. Execute the function "Batch Level -> Conversion".
    8. Define a plant for a plant view that may be missing.
    9. Always execute the report in the test mode first. Analyze the error log.
    10. If no errors occur, you can execute the report in production mode.
    11. If you are working with batch long texts, first execute the report ZM07CHDX_TEXT in test mode.
    try this out..hope is works,,
    Thanks..
