Batch manged replenishment

Hi experts,
I have following requirement from business:
Fore some products we are enforced to replenish specific batch numbers to specific plants (distribution center). Plant A produces product P1 with batch no B1. Plant B produces the same product P1 with batch no B2. Now: B1 is allowed to be replenished only to DC1 and B2 to DC2.
What is the best environment in APO to implement this business scenario?
Thank you for your advise
Aban

Hi,
The requirement you explained seems so simple. If different plants produces different batches means, the DC1 is supplied only by plant A and DC2 is supplied by plant B. Then you can control this with transportation lane by assigning the material.
If both the batches B1 and B2 is produced by the same plant but DCs to receive the restricted batches, then complication arises.

  • Batch and replenishment lead time

    Hi,
I read the following statement in SAP help portal and am confused.
Please help explain with an example.
The replenishment lead time should not be considered in the dynamic availability check for batches, since batches are not reproducible
Question: Why not? basically not understand above statement.
    thanks
    tuff

Since a batch is created on a given date at a given time, and it has specific charactreristics and values, you cannot make anymore of that particular batch.  The only available qty of a specific batch is what you have available in actual inventory.  Therefor no replenishment lead time is to be considered because you can't replenish a batch.
You can use replenishment lead time in say ATP because that will tell you how long it takes to make a batch of material that meets the general spec of the material.
When a material is not batch managed you can use replenishment lead time in the availability check if you want since you can make more material to meet the customers requirement, (i.e. the general material spec).

  • Need to activate batch mangement in material master

    Hi MM  Experts,
Need your all help in the below issue
We need to select batch management for the material code but system will not allow selecting in material master, as per SAP note 30656; we removed complete stock from the same plant  but some previous month stock exist for that we posted stock in current month using 561 movement  and while reversing the stock in previous month posting date system not allowing to reveres getting an standard and moving price error message because they changed material price control from Moving to standard price in the current month.
Now the current situation is system not allowing reversing the stock due to moving and standard price control change Please suggest us, what are the steps we need to carry out to flag batch management for that material code.

    Hi Jorgen,
The complete steps mentioned for that material.
1.Raw Material code created  previousely (In the month of FEB 2011)with price control (V) withought batch management
2.In the month of Mrach 2011 Price control changed from V to S
2,In the month FEB 2011 some Good movement document posted for the same material.
3.From the month of March 2011 now they want to actiavte batch management for the same material
4.We sujjested user to make nill stock for that material and activate the batch management.
5.Then they removed the complete stock for the same material evn they getting some previous stock error.
6.then we find out the note in sap 30656 and advised below steps.
    1. Post the same amount to current period stock (for example, using movement type 561) so that previous period stock and current period stock are identical.
    2. Make a withdrawal posting in the previous period for the stock together with posting date (for example, using movement type 562).
7.while doing second step we are getting an error as price control changed from V TO S,due to changed in price control
Please let me know if,you need any additonal Information

it is not clear if you want to use FIFO for the batch management of the raw material or for the finished product.
It appears that you would like to use FIFO for the raw material, since it is the one to be consumed in this case. In this case you will have to maintain batch search strategy and use the same for teh raw material. Check the following link:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/25/283b894f7811d18a150000e816ae6e/content.htm
The same concept of batch search strategy applies to the finished item as well.

  • Batch mangement-IS  Retail

    Hi
I need to where we can specify the batch management classification values for the article  MM41 in SAP IS retail ,I could not  see the clasification tab page as in MM01.

    <i><u><b>Duplicate Question</b></u></i>
    Hi Kumaran,
Batch Management is differing from your query!!
To use Class and Characteristics you have to use Generic article- Article variants, which differ only in certain characteristics such as color and size, are grouped together as generic article.
A group of characteristics that can be assigned to several material groups. Characteristics profiles provide default values for characteristics when new materials are created.
The Material Group / Characteristic Profile / Characteristics comes automatically for all types of Articles for Generic Article Category based on your settings.

  • Maximum Batch Splits allowed in Replenishment Delivery

    Hello Experts,
i have a question regarding the number of batch splits allowed in replenishment delivery. Currently , I can only post  250 batches in replenishment delivery.
Is it possible to increase this number?
    Thanks
    DG

    Hi,
The limit can be customized in Batch Search Strategy Type under following SPRO path:
IMG -> Logistics - General -> Batch Management -> Batch Determination and Batch Check -> Strategy Types -> Define Inventory Management Strategy Types
    Check setting No. of splits.

  • How to Restrict Confirmed Quantity in Sales Order (Based on Batch Expiry)

    Dear SD Experts,
Currently our sales order confirms any amount of quantity if stock is available. And only during delivery it checks for the expiration of the batch and reduces the delivery quantity to batches available in stock within expiry.
But since we are doing a bulk creation of deliveries at the end of the day, the check for expired batches is happening too late and no visibility for the data entry operators of stock that cannot be delivered during creation of the sales orders.
So I am looking for solution to restrict the confirmed quantity in sales order to actually confirm only stock what can be delivered. i.e. based on expiry of the batch.
    Thanks!

    hi
in Logistic general - batch mangement - batch determination allocation and check activation - maintain allocate SD search Procedure/ activate check
check this for your sales area and sales document type and then in the search procedure maitain the strategy to check the Expiration date.

  • Batch managment  PLD

    Hi experts,
I have an problem in PLD of batch mangement.
i am using batch management for my items.but we used batch management at time GRPO & sales delivery .it give two print out for that i.e. one for GRPO OR Delivery and 2nd one is for batch management.
my client does not want it in two deffrenet pages .that print must on only one page.
Is it possiable to this one page and how .Please asap

How many maximum batches would there be for one line item.  The one I had created was for a customer who will have a maximum of 2 batches, so I had created 2 UDF at the document row level and updated them using the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification Stored Procedure.
In you case if you have mutiple batches then adding them to one UDF field seperated by a comma or space would be a best approach.
What information are you looking from me.  Are you expecting the complete code..???

  • Same material master in two company codes with batch management

    Hi,
There are two company codes in one client. In one batch management is already active. But in another company code batch management is not required. Is it possible to have batch management active in one company code and inactive in another company code where both the co. codes are in the same client? The same material master to be used in both company codes.
    Thanks,
    Satya.

    Hi Satyabarata,
As far as you dont want to move the same materiel i.eStock Transfer with Inter comapy billing scenario then it  will be fine.
If you try to Transfer a Batch manged material into a non batch manged CC it will work fine. But on the other hand when do via-versa the system will ask for the Batch information where the Batch management is active.
If you want to use same Material Master for both CC then its not advisable.
Please let me know if you need any other information.
    Thx.

  • Cancel batch management

    Hi,expert
I maitained a material with batch management, I want to cancel batch managment now. But I have do the goods reciept and the batch number is already created. Even I cancel the goods reciept, MSC2N set the deletion flag for this batch number.the system still not allow me to change the setting.
What can I do now? Can I switch to non-batch mangement?

    Wang,
In standard SAP there is no option, except to Archive and Delete the current Batch Records. Once the batch records are deleted, then you would be allowed to deactivate the Batch Management for the material.
    Please refer OSS Notes#533383.

  • Material Subject to Batch Management

    Dear All,
In production client, the user by mistake has put the tick for batch management while creating material.Actually, the material was not subject to batch management.
Later, PO was created. At the time of GR against this PO, the store clerk could not recognise that the batch has been created while doing MIGO.
Afterwards the store incharge found this. We reversed the material document and tried to correct the material by removing the tick.
Now issue is the batch mangement tick in material master is not getting removed though we have reversed/cancell the material document.
We have no stocks of the material. This was the first time created material. This was the only GR which happened and that we have already reversed. No goods issue has been done. There is no subsequent document to it. No invocie has been done.
This problem was identifed immediately after the MIGO.
We have tried everything the batch management tick is not getting removed.
    Pl provide solution.
    Regards

    Hi,
DF - deletion flag (the trush bin in ME22N)
It is interesting that you did GR and you have no stock... No stock means that not only 'no stock' at the moment, but any day from the last day of the previous period till now.
If you did GR 2 days ago you had stock on that day.
In this case you'd better cancel the goods movement. And it was also told that no stock is not enough (e.g. your batch master exists and it has to be archived).
Please try to change and check what SAP says.

    Csaba

  • Production order should not be saved without entering Batch in it

    Hello PP Gurus
In my PP scenario Batch mangement is active for finish material I want to make Batch entry mandetory for Production order Order should not saved without Batch in it
With the help of ABAP I have made Batch field Mandetory but still order is saving as this batch field is coming in third tab page
is there any configuration in batch management (i have checked in order type ) to make batch entry mandetory
    Please give your kind suggestion
    With Regards
    Babel S.G.

    Hi,
Your post is very strange to me. Is it possible to confirm a production order with a batch-managed (header) material w/o entering a batch number? It would wonder in standard SAP...
Have you activated batch management for your material? And at which level (plant, material, client)?
Or are you speaking about entering a batch no. for your FG in the PrdOrd itself (in CO01 when you create) - it would be a total different issue...
    Please give feedback.
