Batch Monitor non-responisve

I'm using the most current version of compressor. Every time I submit a video file to compress, the batch monitor says processing but nothing is happening. I wait and wait and wait and the elapsed time gets longer and longer. There's no indication that compressor is doing anything.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled FCP2 and still get the same problem. Please help not sure what's going on here...
support would be greatly appreciated.

Batch monitor is just that, an application which monitors batches being submitted to Qmaster.
Compressor and Qmaster work hand in hand, but unfortunately, Qmaster has a reputation of being quite a pain to use if its not working right. Just take a look at this forum and you'll see why.
Take a look at the advice given by one of our regular contributors, Thomas Berglund:

  • Droplet created in 3.0 running now in 3.5 doesn't submit to Batch Monitor?

    I've got a droplet I created in FCS2 (Compressor 3?).
I upgraded to FCS3 and tried to use my droplet.
I get a window with 'Server: This computer - submitting 1 files'
But in the Batch Monitor I never see anything appear under 'This Computer'.
It's just a simple droplet to take a ProRes 422 HQ captured from an HV20 in their 24p in 60i format - that strips out the extra garbage and reverse telecines.
1st time I've tried to use it with Compressor 3.5.
    How can I debug this?

I found the original droplet in my Compressor settings list, and created a new droplet from 3.5.
This time, when I dropped a file on it, it worked.
But - in case I need to convert a droplet from 3.0 to 3.5 (that doesn't exist in Compressor settings), is there a way?

  • Batch monitor doesn´t cancel a file

    Hello
I´m sending some videos to compressor but I want cancel one of them and batch monitor can ´t do it. It always says " cancelling " but doesn´t do it. And I can transcode the other files because it is the first of them

Have you tried to reset background processing? It is in the menu just below preferences. This should flush out the non-canceling job.

  • Batch Monitor and Compressor do nothing when I submit...

    Hey, guys,
I've re-install the whole OS and Final Cut Studio 2,
I use Compressor to encode my video clip,
after setup the format and the destination,
I click the "submit" Button, the batch job send to Batch Monitor,
but Compressor and Batch Monitor do nothing, the status bar didn't run.
Compressor's CPU usage is only about 0.x %.

    How to solve this problem?

    hi Thomas!
I have norton 2005 and turned it off when I downloaded itunes and I get the same result. quicktime will open for me however.
NIS 2005 is the usual suspect with "symptomless launch suppression".
    first try:
    b noir, "itunes wont open" #6, 02:11pm Oct 3, 2005 CDT
... but if no joy with that, try:
    Lorraine M, "NIS/i-tunes problem rectified" #2, 01:51am Oct 17, 2005 CDT
    keep us posted.

  • Submitted tasks not appearing in the batch monitor

In other words Compressor seems to be totally useless after the update.
I select my preset, and the destination, I click submit, I get the little popup with the name, cluster and priority options, I click submit, and then nothing happens. Nothing at all. Nothing appears in the batch monitor, just nothing.
A little "last submitted at.." appears at the bottom of the upper window, but that's it.
Can anyone please help? Compressor was working so well before the update...

OK, now I've noticed something else. When I submit, the batch instantly fails.
If I open the batch monitor I can click on the failed files, revealing this fault: 3x INVOKING METHOD OR ACCESSING MEMBER FOR NULL REFERENCE

  • Compressor Batch - will NOT open batch monitor

i had to reinstall my friends FCP/Compressor/DVDSP (he didn't want the other stuff)
but now when we try to export a file from compressor to a dvd file such as dolby audio
we get an error saying "unable to connect to background process"
any ideas? maybe we need to install something else?
i did notice (at least i think) batch monitor was in the applications folder and now its in utilities
    maybe thats the issue?
any ideas i can give him so we can continue to work on some stuff
    thanks

Batch Monitor is meant to be in Utilities, so that is fine.
Try these steps (I assume you are using Compressor 3):

  • Compressor 4 files not showing up in Batch Monitor

Appartenly Batch monitor doesn't work with compressor 4.  Using a droplet and I can't monitor the progress.  Any thoughts?

Batch Monitor got replaced by "Share Monitor".
    Two ways to start monitoring:
    1. check the "Automatically launch Share Monitor" in Compressor 4's Preferences
    2. Nagiate intoi the Compressor 4 Package and there to /Contents/PlugIns/Compressor/CompressorKit.bundle/Contents/EmbeddedApps and start Share Monitor from there
Either way I recommend to stick it to the Dock once you've opened Share Monitor successfully.

  • Monitor Non-Paged Pool Usage SCOM 2012 R2

Has anyone figured out an effective method of monitoring non-paged memory pools.
My hope is to build a monitor that can determine max pool size and alert when non-paged pool usage is >= 90% of that maximum.
I've done some research on the subject, with the most relevant TechNet article being http://blogs.technet.com/b/markrussinovich/archive/2009/03/26/3211216.aspx.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
As we know, there is a performance counter for non-paged memory:
    \memory\pool nonpaged bytes:
    Low on Pool NonPaged memory
    - less than 40% available (If the systems exceeds more that 60% of the Pool Non-paged bytes memory pool, then consider removing the /3GB switch or consider migrating to a 64-bit system.
Critically low on Pool NonPaged memory – less than 20% available (If the system exceeds 80% of the Pool Non-paged bytes memory pool. If so, consider removing the /3GB switch or consider migrating to a 64-bit system.
There is a rule to collect this performance, we can find it and enable it by overriding:

  • Use Wildcard SSL Cert to Monitor Non-Domain COmputers

    Hello,
I was wondering if a Wildcard SSL Cert from GoDaddy or another Provider can be used to monitor Non-Domain Computer on SCOM 2012R2?
    TIA,
    Jim

    Hi,
The Operations Manager agents support two types of authentication method, Kerberos or certificate based authentication. In order to monitor servers and clients located outside the Operations Manager’s native Active Directory domain, you will need to configure
certificate authentication using either an internal Certificate Authority or through a 3rd party Certificate Authority.

  • Droplet jobs submitted not showing up in Batch Monitor

I am compressing MP4 files in large batches of 100-150 files at a time by dragging them over a droplet. I can submit about 4-6 batches in a row, but after that Batch Monitor does not appear to accept anymore batches.
I can continue dragging files over my droplet and submit the batch. The process completes as if the batch was submitted successfully, but it never shows up in batch monitor and the output files are never created. Any ideas?
I have three, dual-quad Intel machines with 8 GB of RAM in their own private cluster processing my jobs.

Setting found to increase number of jobs.

  • Submited Jobs not showing up in Batch monitor

I just got done with a reinstall of compressor and Qmaster with some positive results. I can now start a quickcluster just fine, and have it show up in compressor and submit to it. When i click the submit button, The batch doesn't show up in batch monitor. Even when i try submitting it "My Computer" it still fails to show up in batch monitor.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Batch monitor was set to list completed jobs. I'm an idiot.

  • Batch monitor messes with my display

Whenever Batch Monitor is running, my display won't go to sleep. I want to be able to sleep at night while running my compressor files without having to drape a towel over the display!!!!
Please make an option to turn off this feature!

This is, unfortunately, a known issue with Compressor versions 2.0 to 2.3 (not sure if this is fixed in version 3) with no known solution.

  • Batch Monitor troubles - no progress

I'd like to export a project from final cut pro (6.0.4) with compressor (3.0.4), as I did about 50 times before. Compressor opens, I choose my settings and click "send". Batch Monitor opens and that's it. No progress in Batch Monitor, no encoding, no failure code, nothing.
    In the information-box I find:
    pid="261" what="service-request" req-id="06B72FBC-BBB5-4F63-B985-6C4CA034BFF2:1" msg="Error: unrecognized request."></mrk>
What's wrong? If possible I'd like to avoid to reinstall compressor.
I already deleted the prefs for compressor and batch Monitor, I repaired disk permissions and restarted.
Exporting the movie with quicktime works fine, exporting audio only works fine, too.
What's wrong with Batch Monitor? Any idea someone?
    Thx, Wolfgang

Sounds like Qmaster has missing assets.
Qmaster is what controls batch monitors, batch lists.
You will need to reinstall Qmaster again.

  • Batch monitor

i just stopped a batch in mid compression because I looked at one of the results and realised it had a fault. I then trashed everything and set the batch up again to re-compress it. When it came to batch monitor the old batch was still there so I deleted it again or at least I tried to delete it. All the movie files except the one that was in mid compression had their status changed to cancelled but the one that was midway through was still processing. But nothing was happening. I've tried to delete the batch anyway I can but it wont go. I tried trashing the preferences but that didn't help - unless there are preferences elsewhere than in the library folder. I tried repairing disc permissions. So far nothing will get rid of this batch and until it goes batch monitor is locked up.
    Any ideas?
    G5 dual 2.7 Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    G5 dual 2.7   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I solved the problem by deleting batch monitor and compressor and reloading from the original software discs.
Should be easier to resolve than this!!
