Batch Number problem

Hi,
When i check the Batch Transaction report, I find Batch Number and qty and Whse. But when i try to issue, Iam getting quantity fall into negative inventory. The stock is not showing in the whse althought in the Batch report, it is showing as qty available.
We have not allocated negative inventory.
The item is managed set to "Relese"  and on every transaction. Same in General settings.
This is happening for 2 items. and for 8 batches.
What could be the problem?
Iam using SAP 8.81 PL 06

  • Problem with uppercase character in batch number

    Hi all,
    I have the following case:
Currently we have a batch number v10047 (character "v" in lowercase), we can see this batch in MMBE, MB52.
We want to transfer posting this batch, but when entering its number, SAP auto change the "v" from lowercase to uppercase, then it says "Batch number does not exist"!
I cannot display this batch in MSC3N either due to the same problem.
How can we prevent SAP from changing lowercase to uppercase?
    Many thanks,
    Duc.

    Hi Duc.,
Lowercase batches cannot be created by a dialog posting. If you check
the domain CHARG using SE11 you can see that the flag for 'lowercase'
is not set. This means that the batch entered will always be converted
to uppercase when this batch is entered on a screen.
The possibility is that you've transferred the batch info from IDOC or BAPI?
You may refer to note [104626|https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=104626] and remove the batch stock using IDOC or BAPI again.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Problem with field "batch number" and table "et_item" at  BBP_CONF_CHANGE

    Hi experts!,
I have a problem when I use the badi BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI and with the method BBP_CONF_CHANGE.
I want to fill the field "batch number" at web SRM with the PO number, I thought to write it at suitable or appropriate field at table "et_item" but this table has not any similar field which I can write it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.

    Hello,
we cannot fill the BATCH field because it is not available in the table ET_ITEM in the method BBP_CONF_CHANGE.
Do you know how can we fill a default value in this field when the user is creating or modifying a confirmation item?
    Thank you.
    Best regards.

  • Batch number archiving- Inspection lot is causing the problem

    Hai,
I am trying to archive a batch, but I do receive the below message:
u201CMaterial is used in Inspection Lotu201D. Message number W4123.
How do I archive an Inspection Lot?
Note We are not using Long term Inspection.. We are in ECC 6.
    Anyone had this issue before?
    Thank you in advance!
    Sonali

    Hi Senthil,
Thank you for your reply. Infact, I do not have any open inspection lots. UD was done against it. I could successfully archive the inspection lot. The status on the inspection lot is now ARCH. Now I ran MM_SPSTOCK to archive the associated batch number. But still I get message "Material is used in Inspection Lots".
    any ideas?
I am actually going to post this under PLM forum.
    Thank you!

  • Problems with Batch Number in WM Physical Inventory

I am trying to troubleshoot a client that has the following scenario:
    1. Material in storage bin doesn't have batch number
    2. Batch management has been activated.
    3. A physical inventory document was created for the location where the material is.
    4. The physical inventory has been counted.
5 When trying to write off differences in LI20 it is giving an error to enter a batch number.
I understand clearly that the system is interpreting that the batch number is required and missing in master data. I am not able to modify batch number for the quant in LS22.
The implications behind deactivating batch number right now would be too complicated and not the right procedure either.
What is the correct procedure in this case?
    Thanks!

Hi José, I do not think your point 2 can be right. If a user tries to switch on batch management when there is stock or any open transactional data (POs, Sales orders etc) the SAP throws an error. The only way to activate BM with stock in hand is, as Jurgen has pointed out, through a report or a direct table update that causes inconsistencies.
That said, please have a look at the below document. It details the report provided by SAP to deactivate/activate BM with stock. Please use them with the utmost caution, carefully reading all the disclaimers given by the author, before performing these steps to avoid further inconsistencies.

  • Goods receipt MB01 with serial number problem

    Dear MM Experts,
Iam a PM Consultant and this problem faced me while doing goods receipt from external maintenance order so i will appreciate any help regarding this issue,
In serial number profiles i did the stock check indicator to give an error message if there were incosistinces in stock data,
    now this is the scenario:
after doing an external maintenance order and creating a PO with reference to the maintenance order PR, and also entering the specified serial number in the PO:
    1) Goods Issuing: i used MB1B with movement type 541 and as the serial number already exist and not wrong so it didnt show any error messages and by checking the stock data in MMBE the material was in stock provided to vendor.
    2) Goods Receipt: when using MB01 with movement type 101 and when entering the serial number of the material it gives an error message ALTHOUGH it is the same serial number issued and the same serial number in the PO
This is the error message :
Stock data of serial number G081 not suitable for movement
    Message no. IO231
    Diagnosis
The current stock information for the serial number G081 contradicts the stock information of the movement to be posted. The following stock information is valid for the document and the serial number:               Batch Number Stock data Serial data   C2
Only the first different field for the stock data/serial data is assigned. However, further data may also be inconsistent. To determine whether this is the case, you can start an analysis.
    System Response
Two system responses are possible (set using Customizing): If the case of an error occurring, the assignment of the serial number to this posting procedure is not possible. In the case of a warning, you can, if necessary, transfer the notification.
    Procedure
Assign a serial number which corresponds in your stock information to the stock data of the posting. You can display the serial numbers which can be used using Select serial numbers.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
A possibility to fix serial number status is by running the report RISTEQ07 in SE38 transaction. Please run this report as mentioned in the SAP Note 316868 (point 2).
While running the report please consider following points:
The report does not set any locks on the records to be corrected, in other words, the report should only then be executed in the correction mode if the master records (within the client) are not being used in another (changing) access.
During the search for inconsistent serial numbers, the system assumes that the stock segment is correct and the existence indicator might be incorrect.
In the correction mode, the existence indicator is adjusted (depending on the existence of the stock segment).
The report provides a test option (LP_TEST); if this option is active,  the system only checks whether inconsistencies exist. Corrections are  only carried out if the test mode is deactivated. Option LP_EXTD for the enhanced check should remain deactivated for the first run. In particular, if no inconsistency is recognized, the run should be repeated with the activated option.
Another possibility is to create/post a physical inventory document for the affected material and serial number.
Determine which material serial number is really on stock (physically on stock). You can do this, by either analyzing the history of each Serial Number or by carrying out a physical inventory.
Before posting the Physical Inventory the stock validation of the serial number profile of the material has to be switched off in OIS2 transaction (if it is switched on).
When you do this, you will get a Pop-up, please read the long text and execute the report RISERNR9 which is mentioned there.
After executing this report the inventory can be posted. When this is done please switch stock validation on again and execute report RISERNR9 again.
Perform this inconsistency correction only when you are sure that no one else is working on the system otherwise it could lead to more inconsistencies while the stock validation is switched off. Check SAP Note 612132 for further details.
In another words, you have to:
    Create a physical inventory in MI01 transaction;
    Enter a counted quantity in MI04 transaction;
Define each serial number to each qty on stock.
I hope this information helps you.
    Good  luck,

  • Material batch number in ORDERS05

    Hi Friends,
I'm receiving a EDI 180(Returns) from the customer and I have to create a Sales order with type credit memo. In this process customer is sending material batch number in EDI NTE segment. I want to map this to field in to ORDERS05. Pls. some body tell me which IDOC segment/field I can map.
    Thanks in advance.
    Arjun

sorry to say that, but you should learn about the application, you cannot make the field empty, it is SAP design that the valuation type goes to the batch field in case of split valuation active wihtout having batch managment active.
your wish is not possible with enhancements, and if , you would create inconsistencies and bigger problems in subsecuent processes.

  • Revision / Batch number set in Sales Order

I have a problem with the Rev/Batch # input in the item level in Sales Order.
We create batch numbers in the background via MSC1N when Goods receive is done (MIGO).
So when we create Sales Orders, in the item level we enter the Revision in the field name Batch. This is accepted only when there exists batch #.
But now I would want the SO to accept the Revision even if the Batch # does not exists. The batch number exists only when there is inventory for the Part.
Pls advise how I could proceed to input the Revision even if the batch doesnot exists.
Will reward for helpful ideas !

  • Copying of Batch Number and Characteristics in GI/GR

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I have created a Stock transport order (STO). Against that STO I have created the delivery. In the delivery I enter the Batch Number/Characteristics(MM). When I do the Goods Issue against that delivery the Batch number is not being copied. Against that Goods |ssue, when I do the Goods Receipt I have to enter the batch number/characteristics manually.
We have a two step Storage Location to Storage Location transfer.  When we do the Goods Issue the stock goes to Goods in Transit and then the GR is done against that GI.
Please let me know how to copy the batch number/characteristics automatically. Please also mention the name of the user exit if this can be handled through a user exit.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Process Order Batch number generation at the time of order creation

    Dear All,
I m facing some issue at the time process order creation:
    Current Settings:
    1. Batch Number Creation at the time of order create.
Reason for this setting: Release of order is done  by releasing operations one by one, therfore batch number will be generated on the final operation release, thats why we set up batch creation at the time of order create.
    2. For FG batch number generation there is a program that copy the SFG(in Order BOM) Batch number to FG. ITs a industry requirement.
    Problem:
when we create FG order system generate the error message at the time of order creation tht No batch could be determine.
    Please suggest the solution
    Thanks,

    Hi
Hope you have cretaed Batch serch strategy in COB1

  • Change Batch number while goods receive for PO

    Hi All,
I have a new requirement. The requirement is need to change the batch number in SAP while doing goods receive for the PO .
Please tell me how i can achive this.
    Thanks
    pabi

Where exactly is the problem? do you get an error message while changing the batch number in MIGO?
Usually you can just overwrite the defaulted batch number.

  • Object Link to Batch Number (MCH1 & MCHA)

I am trying to link a DIR to Batch Number.
For this i tried object MCH1(Batch Number without Plant) & MCHA (Batch Number with Plant).Screen Numbers for MCH1 is 264 & for MCHA is 265.
After making the reqd. configurations, ie. defining object links for Document Type as MCHA & MCH1 when i go to transaction CV01N i can see the tab for MCH1(screen number 1264) and no tab is available for MCHA(1265).
And when i go for CV04N, and try to search for same document type with the help of object links then both tabs are visible there. But now in these tabs material column is not visible, only Batch column is visible for MCH1 and Batch & Plant column are visible for MCHA. I have already checked the Table settings - there is nothing wrong with it.
Please guide me why such problem is occurring instead of maintaining all configuration properly. Is there anything that i have missed?
    Points for helpful answers.

    Hi Christoph,
    Thank you for quick response.
Looks like I was not clear in my query.
What I have done is as following:
1.Maintain Screen for Object Link: Here I maintained the objects MCH1 & MCHA with screen numbers 264 & 265 respectively. And also maintained value “1” for Authorization.
2.Define Document Type >> Define Object Link: Then I have assigned these 2 objects to the particular Document Type with DC10 along with respective screens.
Now when I go to CV01N and go to object links I can see only 1 tab which contains Material & Batch which I guess is visible because of MCH1 (Screen number 264).
But I am not able to see the other tab which should contain Material, Batch & Plant as defined in the screen 265 for object MCHA.
Second problem is when I go to CV04N, and enter the Document Type and go to object link tab, I can see 2 tabs. But one of these tabs has Batch & Plant Column and the other tab has only Batch column.
Please help me out with this. Thank you.

  • Process Order Details like batch number, mfg date flow to a new process ord

    Hi Experts,
I have a doubt in Process Order.
    I have two stage production.
    1. Blending
    2. Packing
I create a process order for blending and assign a batch number and manufacturing date for Blending operation.
    Release the process order.
Final Confirmation of the process order.
I complete all the process, Goods Reciept is done.
    Technically completed the Process Order.
Now my 1st stage Process order is completed and ready for the 2nd stage production i.e., Packing.
Now I create a new process order,
here I am having the problem that I need to enter all the details like batch number, manufacturing date etc..
I want to avoid this in the 2nd process order.
How to do this i.e., carry forwarding the details of the 1st process order into the 2nd process order.
Is there any setting required at the back end?
I was told about Push operation to rectify the above problem. But I am not clear about that.
Can any one clearly explain about that step- by - step.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

  • Vendor batch number in stock transfer

    Hi,
    Batch management at plant level.
When we transfer the stock from one plant to another plant, the vendor batch number is not getting updated in the receiving batch master record.
In 303,we will send it from one plant to another plant (Stock in transit).
In 305,we will receive it to another plant with different batch number.
How do we know this 305 has been done for 303?
    Eg:
    303
    Material : A
    Plant:Phar1
    Batch 100
    305
    Material: A
    Plant:Phar2
    Batch :200
How do we trace the stock in case we need to resend back to the supplier?
    Thanks
    Srini

You are facing a classic problem. Given Batch number is unique at Plant level, to maintain the continuity, you should have the same batch number between the two plants. Any specific reason why you don't have it.
Then if there is valid case not to have the same batch number in this scenario, then you should look at making the batch number generation external so that you can prefix/suffix or come up with a way to get the original batch number from the sending plant in the receiving plant batch number.
Recently we had a similar requirement, so we activated batch classifiction and put the orignial batch number as one of the characterisitcs in the batch class. You can also think enabling such functionality..

  • Transaction COR2 release userexit , Batch number should be blank

    Hi,
My requirement is , when i release process orderf rom COR2 tcode, the batch number should come us blank. I used EXIT_SAPLV01Z_002 from function module VB_NEXT_BATCH_NUMBER and made the batch number as blank. But after that exit, there's a condition in VB_NEXT_BATCH_NUMBER saying if batch number is blank then throw an error. Is there any way, i can get the batch number as blank after releasing the process order.
    Thanks,
    Vandana

    Hi Vandana,
I don't recommed the use of a FM not release by SAP. You could have problems in future SAP versions or when you apply support packages.
Regarding the main request: you can manage the Batch creation by Plant and Production Scheduling Profile.. So you don't need an exit for it. This is setup in CORY:
    Please try...
