Batch processing a PDF file with photoshop droplet

hey, ive been trying and trying to make a photoshop droplet where i can drop a pdf on it and it will apply a "levels" (cmd+L on mac) change to all of the pages and re export it as a pdf.
.....i know how to record actions and create droplets but there are issues with the number of pages of the pdf and the name of the pdf
if you can figure out method for this and share that would be AWESOME!

Which version of Audition are you using? The latest ones allow you to specify where the batched files are saved and also if any Prefix or Postfix are added to the file name. These are all under Export Settings in the Batch Process pane. However you must have the Export box ticked to give you access to the settings.

An attempt to open a pdf file with Photoshop Elements (version 12) resulted in a pop generated by the Photoshop Editor stated "Impossible to execute this operation (opening file) because one of the specified colour is not managed". Is there any mean to adapt the file to make its reading possible?
Did somebody get the same problem?

It is a high order probability that your SQL's report generator is creating the PDF, not Acrobat (which by design and EULA cannot be used in as/with server).
That the report generator outputs to an old-old version of PDF bears this out.
Wiki articles on PDF are very nice for those high level intro summaries.
To know / understand PDF you purchase and study the ISO Standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1:2008).
Rather than "PDF validation" you may want to consider addressing the appearent root cause of the problem(s).
You can change the email2fax application to one that can deal with older PDF versions.
You can change the report generator to one that can output to the ISO Standard.
(Perhaps the in-use application can be configured to output to the current version of PDF (i.e., the ISO Standard).
    Be well...

  • Batch processing pictures in iPhoto with Photoshop CS4

Hello, I am trying to batch process my pictures with photoshop. The only problem is that I can't get a source destination for my pictures. I know how to find them on the hard drive in the iPhoto library but when I try to get to the folder with photoshop it is greyed out. I also have tried selecting the photos though 'media' on the left side of the finder. I can open them but can't use that as the source folder for batch processing. Can someone help me out here? I am getting pretty irritated with iphoto, I am sure there must be some way to do this.
    thanks
    Kris

Do you have PS set up as the editor of choice in iPhoto like this:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.

This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
However, this method will only let you open 4 photos at a time. You can have more than for open but will have to go back to iPhoto select 4 more and open them.
Otherwise you'll need to export the photos out of iPhoto to a folder and do the batch processing there.

  • Batch Processing of PDF files to JPG

i'm having this aweful issue of PFG to JPG conversions
Now the files are in pdf format and their sizes are quite large, round 15000px height maybe
I only want my jpg files to be 700px high, for this once my pdf files have been opened in photoshop, i created an action for this, that part is ok
I tried batch conversion, using actions as well, but it's still not that automatic because the pdf window still pops up every time a new pdf is being opened on photoshop asking me for how high i want my pdf file. so if i have 600 pdfs (i do!) it's 600 times i have to type in 700 px in the height box.
Plus the pdf files have been partitioned into folders and subfolders, the actions also have a problem: they don't save it in the same folder as from where i opened them.
is there any way out of this ?

There is a script called PDF Processor you can try.
The last one listed is the one you want (most up to date)
    http://ps-scripts.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1882&sid=4756172e6aed44b1195bbee6ce4b9367
Put the script in your photoshop>presets>scripts folder and the script should then
    be under File>Scripts>Pdf Processor.

  • Batch Processing to Rename Files

I use batch processing to rename file in Photoshop Elements 5.0. I renamed my files with the MRW extension and the extension was changed to PSD.
I also tried batch processing to turn the MRW file into RAW files. I was able to do that but then Photoshop Elements was not able to open the newly renamed RAW files.
Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
    Bill

You cannot make changes to your actual raw files. You must convert them to another format to do this, which is what PE is doing. The kind of RAW files PE/PS can read or create without going through ACR (the camera raw plugin window) are not camera raw files, but photoshop raw files, a very old PS format that is not good for much these days.

  • How to save a Photoshop PDF file with fonts that can be detected in Acrobat?

We created a PDF file using Photoshop CS5, for the purpose of using it as a watermark on documents.  We saved this file as Photoshop PDF file, but for some reason the fonts cannot be detected when the file is opened in Adobe Acrobat.
We need it to be recognized by Acrobat so that we can easily add the watermark to documents on a regular basis.
Right now, Acrobat cannot detect the fonts in this file -- even though it is a basic font like Arial -- so when we add the watermark to a document, the fonts in the watermark becomes very degraded in appearance.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

I've tried several settings when saving as a PDF, to try to produce a file with fonts that can be detected by Acrobat.  I tried the presets listed in guide: Photoshop Help | Saving PDF files
    But none have worked.
I cannot use PNG because it is not one of the formats that Acrobat allows for a watermark.  And JPG doesn't work because I need transparency.

  • Exception thrown while processing pdf file with composite fonts using adobe pdf library (v 9.1 )

    Hi All,
I have an issue with processing composite fonts with adobe pdf library (v 9.1 ).
While processing a pdf file having composite fonts, the pdf library is throwing an exception.
The api which throwed exception is "PDPageAcquirePDEContent()". In my code i am calling PDDocGetNumPages(), PDDocAcquirePage() before this api is called, but all those functions suceeded. In the HANDLER, using the ASGetErrorString(), i got this exception error as  "The encoding (CMap) specified by a font is missing."
Now coming to the input file (which is also attached), this document have three different composite fonts ( details are given below )
    Font Name : TicketBold, Bold(Embedded)
    Font Type : Trueype (CID)
    Encoding : Identity-H
    Font Name : Times-Roman (Embedded)
Font Type : Type 1 (CID)
    Encoding : Identity-H
    Font Name : TimesNewRomanPSMT (embedded)
    Font Type : TrueType(CID)
    Encoding: Identity-H
If i convert all the composite fonts to outline using pitstop before processing, it works fine.
So my question is that whether pdf library doesnt support composite fonts (which i dont think so ) or i need to do a special handling for these kinds of fonts in my application ( which i strongly belive ). If its the latter case, please let me know how to handle it in my application.
    thanks in advance
    best regards

    Hi Leonard,
Thanks for your reply. May i ask you which sample of the PDF Library you used to test my scenario.
One question i would like to put to you beofre going for filing a formal issue to Adobe will be does this issue has anything to do with the initialization of the pdf library?
What i meant is that when we call the PDFLInit() we pass a PDFLDataRec structure which is initialized by various path to font folders, cmap folders and unicode folders. Whether if i miss any of these folders will it cause this issue???
    thanks again
    regards

  • Can I batch print PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader X

can I batch print PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader X?  I have tried from Windows Exploer (Windows XP) and it looks like the files are opening but they do not print.
    Pat

Very strange!  What is your installed Reader version?
Try disabling Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Automating the process of comparing two PDF file with the help of QTP(Automation Testing Tool)

Can anybody help me with comparing the two pdf files with the help of QTP.I have Adobe Acrobat installed on my system and i have access to the API.
    Thanks,
    Varun Saini

I want to find out more about QTP and API. Maybe that is what I want to compare two mechanical drawings for differences between them. (see “More than one pdf file in one window”. Is that what you are looking to do? 9Not necessarily mechanical drawings but some other pdf).

  • Can't place PDF file in Photoshop

I used to be able to place PDF files into a Photoshop file (PSD), but now I get an error reading:
Cannot place the document 'Document Name.pdf' because of a program error.
It does not tell me what the error is or how to correct it.
I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop because of a different issue, so I'd rather not go through that process again if it's unnecessary.
    PC
    Windows 7 Professional
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500
    8 GB of RAM
    64-bit Operating System
    Photoshop CC 2014.2.1

I updated my question to include additional info.
The PDF saving process is the same. The PDF type, how it was saved, what it was created in, never used to make a difference - not sure why it would now?
I can open the file with Photoshop, just can't place it into a PSD. Photoshop does not have issues placing images and other assets. It only has an issue with PDFs.

  • Batch-printing many PDF-files

    Hi,
In our workflow we have hundreds of PDf-files in many different subfolders we need to print on a monthly basis. We COULD print them manually... but that would be expensive, time-wise. So I figured I would make an action in Acrobat Pro X that would do the trick.
And it works... except for one thing - the "Add folders" adds ALL supported files in the sub-folders, which makes it a bit useless for our purposes. I can't see any way to sort by filetype or any way to tell it to only add specific extensions.
Is there any easy way to do this? I'm open to scripting - perhaps Illustrator might be better for this purpose?
    BR
    Thomas

I do this daily...If you have Adobe 9 or older the process is alot eaiser for some reason Adobe made this feature more difficult, y? i don't know but here you go...
    Acrobat X
Acrobat X replaces "Sequences" with "Actions", and unfortunately doesn't include a built-in "Print All" Action. So you will need to create one.
    1. Choose File > Action Wizard > Create New Action
    2. Fill in the "Create New Action" dialog box as shown below.
    3. Click the Save button.
    4. Give the Action a name, such as "Print" and click the Save button.
    5. Now each time you want to batch print PDF files with Acrobat X, just File > Action Wizard > Print, and follow the on-screen prompts.

  • How to open a pdf file with command in WebBrowser control?

Installed acrobat 6 or7 in my PC, then I load a WebBrowser control in IE to open a local pdf file with command line, such as "Page=3", and then open the same pdf file with WebBrowser control in other IE process, I found the command will affect other open and show operations in webbrowser. is it normal?  That is to say, When i set command "Page=3", the second time WebBrowser still open pdf with command "Page=3",I think it is bad.

    Hello:
Thanks for your reply. I installed Acrobat6.0 or 7.0 in my PC, then i load a WebBrowser Control in IE by Html, then open local pdf with different command by running IE. We can get the command in this website: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/PDFOpenParameters.pdf
    First:open local pdf with command : oWebBrowser.Navigate("G:
    PDF
    07000001.pdf#Page=3&Pagemode=thumbs", null, null, null, null);
Second:Open the same local pdf with no command:  oWebBrowser.Navigate("G:
    PDF
    07000001.pdf", null, null, null, null)
【Result】The first command "#Page=3&Pagemode=thumbs" will effect the way of showing pdf when second open. But, the phenomenon will not appear in Acrobat 8.0, 9.0, 10.0.

  • I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI

I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 (Mozilla) to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI. Each time, Acrobat replies (in french) : "il n'y a pas de client pour la messagerie par défaut". Thunderbird is indicated as "by default" in the list of programs of Windows.
Even if I type my e-mail address, etc. in the account of Acrobat, it doesn't change. Each time, I have to record a PDF file in a folder and return to Thunderbird to send it as attached. It is a too long process,  compared with Windows XP with Acrobat Reader or Acrobat 5, I had before.
Would you please help me to explain the process. My OS is Windows 8.1.
    Thank you

    Thank you for your answer.
What i want to do : to send PDF files as attached documents in a message
generated by thunderbird by my e-mail address [email protected] or
    another one I have.
When I introduce my e-mail address under Edit-Preferences-Email
Accounts, Acrobat ask the e-mail account, the password, the IMAP for
ingoing message (and I use POP) and SMTP for outgoing messages. Even I
introduce all the datas, it doesn't change, Acrobat is unable to send
the message. And the process is not convenient, because I need all my
outgoing messages be documented inside Thunderbird.
So, I repeat my request : how can I use thenderbird as program by
default from Acrobat or any other software ?
Thank you for your next message.

  • Ability to process several raw files with the same content but with different exposure into the single picture

Can you add to the Lightroom an ability to process several raw files with the same content but with different exposure into the single picture?
Base raw files can be given with exposure bracketing during shooting, for example.
The goal - to get maximum details in darks and lights (if we use the "ligths recovery" or "fill lights" we lose the quality because raw file just have no all required information).
The similar (but not the same, only the idea) thing - is High Dynamic Range Photography in Adobe Photoshop
    Thank you

The plugin LR/Enfuse does this already. And of course Photomatix have a plugin available for Lightroom. This essentially amounts to pixel editing, which is beyond the range of Lightroom's metadata editing.

  • Opening iPhoto 8 JPG file with Photoshop CS3 Camera Raw editor

I have all my photos stored in my iPhoto 8 library. I have both RAW (CR2) and JPG images. iPhoto 8 opens the CR2 images with Photoshop Raw editor, but I want to use iPhoto to open JPG images with the Photoshop Raw editor using Camera Raw.
How do I do this without having to export JPG images and opening from Photoshop?
    Thanks!
    SP

    SP:
If you're trying to use the RAW editor on a jpg it can't be done. It will only work on the RAW file. If you are wanting to edit the RAW file from within iPHoto with CS3 then set CS3 to be the editor of choice in iPhoto's general preferences. Next go to the Advanced iPhoto preference pane and select the option "User RAW when using external editor". That will open the RAW file with Photoshop's raw editor. When you finish you MUST save the new file to the Desktop and import as a new file.
For some general info on using Photoshop with iPhoto:
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: iPhoto 8's new option in it's rebuild library window, "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" may make this tip obsolete. We'll know when users have occasion to use it and see if that's the case.
