Batch Processing for reduced size

I want to take a number of PDF files and try to reduce their file size. Is there a way to do this in Batch Processing? I really don't want to open up each individual file!
Thanks

yes, create a new batch sequence, no need to add any commands, just click on output options to select the pdf optimizer settings.

  • Batch Process Change Canvas Size Buggy

I have 300+ products shots that need to go up to our website.
Using FW CS3 I was able to resize and optimize both full size
images and the thumbnails. The issue is due to our website setup
the thumbnails are expected to be exactly 100x100. If the canvas
size is irregular the image gets stretched or squeezed when served
    up on the site.
So I created a custom action to set the canvas size to 100 x
100 with a white background and to expand from the center out. When
I run this manually everything is ducky. But when I add it to my
batch process the actual content of the thumbnails moves from image
to image. Some items are centered fine, some are too far left or
too far right (or high, low) some are shifted so much that they are
actually cut off to the left or right. There seems to be no rhyme
    or reason to it.
Here is how the batch is set up:
It grabs the original file ( a press resolution PSD file) and
fit to size to 100 x 100. Then I run the command to set canvas size
to 100x100 white background. And then it exports it to optimized
jpeg. I have tried running the actions separately. And when I just
run the fit to size and optimization as a batch the thumbs look
fine no weird positioning. So I know it is the command.
    Any ideas?

    Thankyou Heath
If I choose scale > scale to fit area > then choose a maximum width or height, that works for that part of the process.
Percentage doesn’t work, because I need them to be a particular size (either width or height, doesn’t matter , as long as nither of them exceeds 00px)
For the part that I then want to find the smallest measurement (width or height) and make a particular size, there doesn’t seem to be any way that I can find in FW to do that.
But, after searching on line, I found an app that does all that and more, its brilliant.  It will find the largest side, the smallest side, or whatever and change it to what you want and rescale the other side to fit.

  • Batch process for Web & Devices possible??

    Hiya,
Here's what I have going on.  I'm heavily involved with the DAZ3D community.  Over a year ago I create a huge and I mean huge texture pack for the Windy Wizard Robe and the Morphing Fantasy Robe found at Renderosity.  The pack, when zipped up is a whopping 333 Mb's.  I was hoping to get that file size cut in half.  I would do it one at a time but heck there are 151 texture maps in the pack.  That's really not seeming like something I want to do if I can avoid it.
Is there a way to batch process using the Save for Web & Devices command??  It's settings are already set up to where I like them as I've completed a couple more packs and exported using that.  It complains since the size of the texture maps are usually around 3000 X 3000 but it still works perfectly and it really does cut the size, actually, by about 2/3rds!  Crazy but I really can't tell the difference when I compare a regularly saved map with one that's exported using that command.   It's pretty amazing.
    Thanks for the help!
    Richard ;-)~

Quality level is just the degree of compression.  12 is max quality (minimum compression).  Depending on how media is viewed one might not tell the difference between level 10 and 5. Save for web uses the same dialog.
This also is same dialog you get if you "save as" in jpeg.  Try a couple of different levels and see what the results are, and what satisfies your needs.

  • Batch Process increases file size from 230kb - 5044kb

I'm currently using Acrobat 7 Professional.
I want to use the "Batch" process to re-convert pdf documents that were watermarked using the batch process. We're talking 1000+ documents.
The reason we need to re-convert them is because the watermarked documents are taking more than 4min/page to print, if it prints at all.
I've manually re-converted a few of the documents using "print to pdf", kept the file size at 230kb and with no printing issues.
However, since we have 1000s of these documents to do, most with multiple pages, this would be a very time consuming project.
I've "Batched" "print to pdf" and it also takes care of our printing issues, however, the file size has jumped to 5044kb. Having literally thousands of files to do - this is an issue on our file server.
I've done multiple tests with adjusting the pdf settings in the batch process... some work (and again the file size is large) - some don't allow for printing or slow it way down again.
I understand that it's a "layer" or "transparency" thing that's slowing the printing process and when I mess with it in the batch process, it takes care of the printing issues but not the file size.
Can someone help me please??? I've been working on this for a couple days now and I'm at my limits.
How can I batch process that will flatten layers but give me a manageable file size?
Your help would be GREATLY appreciated - Michelle

I don't know if it can help here, but don't I recall that wayyyy back in Photoshop 7.0 the last File - Save As you have executed sets the JPEG quality for batch File - Save As commands?  I am not sure when the "Override Action Save-As Commands" became functional, but try this:
    1.  Uncheck "Override Action Save-As Commands".
    2.  Remove the "File - Save As" step you have recorded in your action.  The action should NOT save the file.
    3.  Save any old JPEG file at the quality level you prefer, just to set the "memory" of the quality level.
    4.  Run the File - Automate - Batch, specifying input and output folders there.
    I'll bet it will work.

  • Batch processing for Enabling Usage Rights for Reader

    Hello,
We have a lot of documents that we are converting to fillable pdfs using Acorbat 9 which will then be sent out via email to be filled by users. Since there are 50-100 different files, is there a way to use Batch Processing to enable usage rights to Reader for all those documents? Any help or advice is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Sam

There's no way with Acrobat. You can with Adobe's LiveCycle Reader Extensions product, but it's likely not worth it for just this.

  • Batch Process For HDR Time Lapse?

    Hi,
I'd like to batch process a sequence of 830 photos. I basically want to make two copies of each - one with less exposure (darker) and one with more (lighter) so at the end I'll have 2490 images (in separate projects). Incidentally, something I've noticed is that when selecting one photo for adjustments it automatically duplicates the photo alongside the original, I'd like to temporarily disable this so I can select all the photos in one project and adjust them as one so they all turn out the same. In case you haven't guessed already it's for an HDR time lapse film I'm making. I'll then be taking the images to photomatix for more processing - a whole other forum to visit then...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

No reason I know this can't be done. Lift and stamp adjustment.

  • PE 5.0 Batch Processing for dust removal add on

I have PE Elements 5 and have scanned about 6000 slides (whew!) into my system. I have been using a dust removal add in provided by the scanner manufacturer (Konica Minolta DiMage Scan Dual IV) which has a slightly better capability than the caned one provided by Adobe. I would like to be able to batch process the slides for dust removal. Is this possible?

    1. Is above possible at all?
    Simple answer, No.
    2. Does anyone know how to perform either of the 'Remove an Add-On' and/or 'Downgrade an Add-On'?
As far as I know is not possible... you'll have to restore from backup.

  • Batch Processing for ACCRUAL documents

    Hi All,
I am running into this error when processing a batch session for accruals t-code FBS1, it works fine for most accounts however this particular account stops the processing with an error.
G/L account 125010 requires a valid tax code
what can I check or fix that would be different about this account?

I read this in the documentation:
If necessary, the G/L account can also be set so that the tax code is not a required entry when posting transactions not relevant to tax

  • Batch processing for f4vpp

Is it possible? Whenever I try f4vpp -i *.* or *.f4v, it returns an error that it can't find the file. It's a real pain manually converting any large number of files.

This command should batch process all of the .F4V files in your current directory:
    for %i in (*.f4v) do f4vpp -v -i %~ni.f4v -o %~ni.mp4

  • Batch Process for "Enable for commenting in Acrobat 9 pro/Acrobat 8.0 Professional

We had set up a process that every generated PDF through distiller should have "comments enabled" PDF. We have many PDF like this.
Now I'm doing one by one. We just wanted the same to be in Batch Mode.
I just wanted to know that how to do by using "Batch Processing". Much appreciated if any help me out to do this successfully through Acrobat Javascript.

If you are using an Apple computer you can download an Automator service script that I made. It will enable you to select as many, or as few PDFs as you would like to enable comenting in and will automatically enable each PDF to "enable commenting". You can view the tutorial and download the Automator Script here:

  • Batch Process for creating button sets in Fireworks - help

    Hi,
I'm new to Fireworks still, I've created some really simple
buttons and I was wondering if it's possible to do a batch process
on them to repeat a few steps e.g. changing background colour,
border colour, text colour etc... It would save me lots of time and
I could make some extra sets then.
    Thanks,
    Rob

Actually Find and Replace will go through a directory as

  • How should a batch process for text alignment be configured in PDF

    Hi,
Using Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended, how can I configure a batch process to align the text on about 700 single page pdfs (of text)?  The text consists of four tables of numbers and one page number per page.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.  I didn't think so.
I thought it was a Photoshop question (since I know how to do it one page at a time manually in Photoshop) and I did post the question in the Photoshop Forum.  Apparently it's not possible to batch the process in Photoshop, so someone moved the question to the Acrobat Forum.
