Batch Recapture with HV10

I accidentally deleted some footage from an HDV project - footage that was shot on the Sony Z1U and captured with the M1U. I no longer have access to the camera or the deck; but I did manage borrow a friend's Canon HV10. However, I don't seem to be able to Batch Capture any of the lost media with this camera. The camera tries to cue up the tape several times and then I get a "cannot locate Timecode" message. I can do Now Capture handily, so I don't think it is a problem with the camera. Is there some problem with FCP Batch Captures and Canon cameras that I don't know about?

So how do I export a BL of the selected clips from the sequence timeline? Doesn't seem obvious to me but I'll have another look. I also thought that the BL, when imported, is going to give me a bunch of offline new clips in the Browser which then wont easily be replaced in the sequence.
Don't think you'll be able to reconnect to the original clips (although it's worth a try).
Na I doubt it either cause even with timecode matching the 4ch is gonna be a problem I am pretty sure. Looks like recapture and re-edit is going to be the best option. Urgh!
You can also drag a clip to the log and capture window and change the parameters and then recapture.
Hmmm interesting. Does that leave the clip on the timeline in place, take the media offline and then after capture bring the clip online leaving the edit in place? Cause that would be a great help of course if that is the case.

Won't recapture with new audio setting

when i initially captured some of my clips in FCP 4, i made the mistake of using the audio setting "mono mix".
since then, i've upgraded to FCP 5. i've also finished the project. now, i'd like to go back and recapture the clips, setting the audio to the proper setting of 2 separate mono tracks, the way it should have been in the first place.
i should note that "mono mix" did not result in one mixed down track; it captured two tracks of audio in a stereo pair, listed in the browser as "1V, 2A" with "1 stereo" but i suspect it mixed them in a weird way because they sound quite low and muddy.
in any case, i've been trying to recapture with a new audio setting. however, nothing seems to work. i've tried making all the clips offline, changing their settings with "modify", then recapturing with the audio toggled to 2 mono tracks... it still comes in as "1 stereo" pair. i've tried the other way, setting the log & capture settings to 2 mono, unchecking the "use current clips settings" box... it comes in "1 stereo". i've tried trashing preferences and redoing the above. i've tried putting the clips in a different project.
any suggestions? thanks.

apparently when you capture in "mono mix" it captures 2 tracks, but makes them identical mixes. so you lose all the phasing and mixing from the field and wind up with two dullish tracks. to unlink them wouldn't change this.
however, i think i figured out a way through a post on creative cow -- i exported a batch list of the offending clips and opened this in Excel. then i went in and changed the audio track column manually, to "2 Mono", then imported the batch list back into FCP. then recaptured using these new clip settings.
seems to work! (knock on wood).

Batch managment with classification

Hi,
I have material with batch and classification. Material master have base unit KG, but I need second unit PC or M and other parameters of material. (coefficient between KG and PC is not constant).
I give to classification attributes fields: quantity, length. width, ...
In goods receipt I input batch with classification (quantity, length. width, ...)
Where can I see batch balance with classification ?
Is possible recalculate attribute of classification quantity after goods issue or how I can manage balance of quantity?

Sftp batch job with password?

Hi folks.
We're trying to develop scripts to automate the transfer of files from various Windows machines to a Linux server. Because the job involves moving multiple files to multiple directories, I wanted to use sftp's -B batchfile option to transfer the files instead of having to reauthenticate every time we transfer files to a different location. However, the man page says:
Batch mode. Reads commands from a file instead of standard input. Since this mode is intended for scripts, SFTP2 will not try to interact with the user, which means that only passwordless authentication methods will work.
I would love to use keys to get this done but unfortunately, the type of authentication on the server is out of our control and not likely to change (it's straight password). So, is there any way I can do this in batch mode with password authentication? I thought about using scp but, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have great support for delivering multiple local files (in different locations) to multiple remote locations. One would have to re-authenticate for every scp command, right?

Thanks for the recommendation, Endperform, but after reading up on expect and autoexpect, I realized I'd rather not have usernames and passwords hard coded into the script.
After much research, I think I've found a solution. It's a little odd but the Maverick Ant library does exactly what I need it to do. It can actually read an ssh profile, perform multiple transfers without having to re-authenticate and execute multiple remote commands without having to reauthenticate. The native Ant libraries can't do this. There is no sftp Ant task and the scp and sshexec tasks are lacking to say the least.
If anyone else runs into a similar situation, I highly recommend the Maverick tool.

Batch job with 2 conditions

Hi,
We have a program that will create a batch job and then we need to go to SM35 to run that batch job manually. We want to avoid this manual step and what we want to do is to as soon as our program runs it will create a batch job and then batch job should kick off automatically.
One of the solution that came to my mind is to schedule a batch job with two conditions:
1. in first condition it will run our main program
2. and in 2nd step it will look out for the batch job that created in SM35 and will kick off that, but I am not sure how can i do this using Sm36.
I was also wondering if there is another way so that we can just avoid the batch run for the second step?
So can you please help me with this.

SM35 -> batch sessions, so I assume you are talking about these.
You can start sessions under program control by submitting program RSBDCSUB after creation of the session.

Batch Number with quantity

Dear All,
With regards to clients requirement, at the time of Goods issue form either one storage location to other Sloc or one plant to other plant in the batch field when i put F4 and after providing receptive material and plant the list of available batch showing.
but here i need, it shows the available batch along with the quantities.
So kindly reply is their any standard setting is available for that or if any suitable enhancements to meet this requirement ????

Why not
just define your class in the normal way
decide what variables you need to pass
in the methods of your class call the fm modules bdc open, bdc dynpro etc etc.
Incidently the following include will have a decent amount of code for the BDC bits.
include bdcrecx1.
A good way is to start sm35 to record what you are doing on the screen. When you've finished go to your recording in SM35 and click on CREATE PROGRAM - it will create most of the code for you including the screen fields -- you'll need to edit a bit of course as you don't need everything that will be shown.
Debugging in the CREATE PROGRAM might show you a decent generic way of generating BDC's which you could easily do via a class.
Note however using BDC's is the LEAST PREFRERRED WAY of performing work and should only be used as a LAST RESORT if there really is no other way. A lot of new BAPI's and Classes are now available which can do away with the need for BDC's in most cases.

Batch updates with callable/prepared statement?

The document http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/oracle/advanced.html#1158797 states
that "Using Batch updates with the callableStatement or preparedStatement is
not supported". What does that actually mean? We have used both callable and prepared
statements with the batch update in our current project (with the Oracle 817 db).
It seems to run ok anyway.

So the documentation should state that batch updates do not work ok in old versions
of JDriver for Oracle, BUT work correctly with newer version. Additionally, batch
updates work ok when used with Oracle supplied jdbc-drivers?

Batch processing with filename filter

Hi guys,
Does anyone have any idea how to run a specific action in batch along with a filename filter?
My problem is I have a folder with subfolders ie... 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004 etc all these folders have approx 100 jpg files with the same filenames in each.
a sample of my images are: landscape-oraange.jpg , landscape-blue.jpg , landscape-red.jpg , portrait-orange.jpg etc etc
I was wonder of a way to just run the specific batch action on filenames containing a certain word, for instance to apply to all files containing the word "landscape" and exclude all other files.
I cannot copy all files under the subfolders to a seperate folder and run this way... as all filenames are the exact same as the other folders.
Does anyone have any advise?

This might provide not quite what you are looking for but something similar.
Insert the correct Action and Set names in the line

Batch Number with Box number

Hello SAP Experts,
My Client has a unique requirement, they want system to track Batch number with Box number.
For Example if Batch number for incomming material is 123456, and if the entire quantity comes in 3 boxes, then the system should track the quantity as 123456/1 , 123456/2 and 123456/3.
Moreover, client wants to issue the materials box wise.
Is there any standard way of capturing this requirement.

I am trying to get batched with shelf life larger than 370.
We are in ECC6.0 and the note applies to releases up to 4.5. I read the note and also tried it but the characteristic does not take a range; only a numberic value. For => 370 I get an error. The date for SLED calculated for batch determination (from the batch determination analysis for a test) as shown below:

Batch loading with sdordf.jar.

In my first attempt there was a mistake in the n3 file.
After correcting the file and re running I now get the error.

After having a little break I have installed the jena patch during which I had to drop the network and model created before.
I tried running a batch load as before but I still get the error message saying the temporary table already exists.
I tried the clean up routine as suggested but get the error.

Batch processing with an image overlay

Is it possible to do batch processing with an image overlay in FW CS4?
I'm trying to resize several hundred images and place rounded corners on them.
If this cannot be done in FW, does anyone know of another program that could accomplish this?

It's possible to include both resizing and image overlay in a custom Fireworks command that can be used in batch processing. To get started, you could check out this tutorial that deals with the first step.
That article describes how to perform image resize and overlay (in that case, a watermark), and then how to record the steps and turn them into a custom command that can be later used in batch processing.
Once you saved the custom command, click File >> Batch Process, and follow the steps below:
In the first window, select the images you want to process.
On the next screen, open the Commands dropdown menu and select the custom command you created (it'll probably be on the bottom of the list), and click the Add button to include it in the batch process list.
Finally, on the next screen select the location of the processed files, and optionally save the batch script for later use.
