Batch remove all default policys on all targets monitored by Grid Control.

Hi all,
I have been searching for a way on how to remove all default policy's that are attached to the target after they have been added into the Grid Control.
I have been trying with monitoring templates, but without any luck. Yes it changes values but it does not remove non template listed policy's.
There must be a way to do this, without manually do it on all 400+ targets.
All ideas of interest.

Nice it worked just fine.
Thanks for the input.
Dont know why I didn't think of disabling the policy's, but i guess that i goy snowed in on the removal part.
Also ran into a new problem. (Unable to apply a monitoring template to a group with more then 100 targets)
Found the solution on metalink: Note:455279.1
Its a bug and there is a OneOff for it: "Patch 5573244"
After applying that patch it worked fine.

    How can I remove the default right click option of the text Area control?
    Is there any way to disable this control in any of the text controls available?

    The iPhone does not store email addresses for received mail. The iPhone stores all email addressees for sent mail in a list of previous recipients. The list of previous recipients is not synced with Outlook or any address book, but the list of previous recipients is included with the iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. The auto-addrss feature pulls from your contacts on the iPhone and from the list of previous recipients.
    Different from the Mail.app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients on the iPhone to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
    The only way to purge the existing list at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
    Hopefully access to the list of previous recipients will be included with the iOS 5 update.

    Hello Everyone,
    I want to remove All Values option coming automatically from Input Control. Please help how to?

    Hi,
    "Hide All Values option" in input controls is possible from BI4.1 SP3.

  • What does "remove target" do in Grid Control?

    I have some targets that got created during agent installation that aren't real databases. I was wondering what removing the target does. Does it just remove the meta data about the target or if the target is a database will it try to delete the database? Does it modifiy the listener.ora file?

    It only deregisters the target and it won't show up in GC.
    For e.g. if you remove a database, you won't be able to manage it in Grid Control. It will NOT drop the database on your managed target.

  • Monitoring with Grid Control : Default thresholds

    Hi,
    I have installed Grid Control 10GR2, and have been struggling with the monitoring the health of Enterprise databases. Previously, any critical health problem seemed to have been reported promptly..
    The default time interval in Grid Control is too long for certain health issues.. like
    database up-down, tablespace full...
    I just wanted to get idea from others, what have they done with the time intervals?
    Any suggestions/experiences??
    - Jayant

    I've kept the defaults on most things, I have changed a few things, notably a metric on the agent itself. But all databases self manage their space anyway. tablespace full you can just change to 5 minutes or something if you are concerned about it.Just experiment, everybodys requirements are different.
    And for the other chap to change a time interval on grid control 10.2:
    Go to Targets-->All Targets
    Click on the name of the target you want to change (be it host/database or agent etc)
    Scroll down the page and click on 'Metric and Policy Settings'
    There you will see the collection schedule for each metric, this a clickable link from where you can then edit.
    Alternatively use a monitoring template and do it that way, especially if you got lots to change.

  • Removing database target in EM Grid Control

    Under targets/databases there is a button 'remove'
    for selected database instance. What does it mean,
    just removing the database from EM repository,
    when I want no more to manage it by grid,
    or will it delete whole database selected like deleting database
    by dbca?

    It will only remove DB details from EM repository.

  • Not able to configure database instance on target host in Grid Control

    I can see all database instances on a target in GridControl and when I tried to configure database instance, it fails with the following error.
    Error
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.CommException: java.net.UnknownHostException: <dbinstance name>
    Could somebody tell me how to troubleshoot this issue (like logs for more info for this error)
    thanks

    Hi
    I am also facing the same issue. My Grid is 10.2.0.5 version. With agentca I could able to see the database of this target on grid but their status show pending.
    When I try to addthem manually it give me below error.

  • How to batch remove PowerPC apps?

    Like many of you, I have moved to Lion Mac OS X 10.7.1.
    Without Rosetta support old PowerPC apps are rendered useless as you know. I have no burning desire to support these old apps but I discovered that I have hundreds of PowerPC legacy apps littering my startup drive. Short of tediously manually removing each PowerPC apps, is there a way to batch remove all of these apps and associated code? Is there any danger in doing a batch removal like this?
    If there isn't a way to do this batch removal might Automator help with something like this and could anyone give me some Automator steps to take to achieve this?
    Thanks!
    PWRMAC (I'm going to have to change this name one of these days!)

    You can remove collections of objects with an EntryProcessor and cache.invoke(). The built-in processor ConditionalRemove() with Always/Present filters should do the trick.
    In terms of performance however, note that cache delete operations are always synchronous (even with write-behind) - so removing large sets of objects will be a bottleneck if you have an attached cachestore.

  • How to remove "all day" as the default setting in iCal?

    How to remove "all day" as the default setting in iCal? The iCloud calendar works by double-clicking but the local behaves differently.

    Hello Valerie,
    the default - "all day" or "time based" - depends on the view in iCal. In month view the default is "all day",
    in week view or day view it is a time interval, if you use "File -> New Event". If you add the event by double clicking into the calendar, it will depend on the section you are clicking - in the all day section you will add an all-day event, in the time-grid you will enter an event with start-end time.

  • I want ro remove all of the default Firefox bookmarks. There are way too many and none of which are usefull to me. I would like to make my old IE Favorites folder the default. How can I do this?

    I need to remove the default Firefox bookmarks.
    There are way too many and none of which are usefull to me.
    Also, I am vision impaired and reading through such a long list is very eye-fatigueing to me.
    I would like to make my old IE Favorites folder the default. How can I do this?

    Did you import an iPhoto Library from the old Hard Drive? Do you still have that old Library?
    The way to clear out a Library is to Export the photos - Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events.
    For the annoying start-up message:
    Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
    Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
    Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?
    If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 - How to remove all eprint icons [reprise]

    When I made the mistake of checking for new print software/firmware, HP installed a group of childish-looking "print apps" (without my permission, incidentally) .
    I cannot make any of the advice I've seen on this forum work to *see* (let alone, remove) the print apps that were installed without my permission.
    One answer showed going to HP Connected > Printables > My printables.   But despite my printer being signed up for web services, I could not see the header "My printables".  I just saw categories of printables.
    I saw another that referenced HP ePrintCenter.  But when I tried to log into that, it forced me over to HP Connected.  And so we're back to square one.
    Whomever thought of this -- they do not understand how angry it making people.  I'm not a child, ok?  I do not want to look at Disney logos every time I use my printer.  This is my *professional* printer.  Also -- honestly -- who uses these things?  It's weird.  Why would I try to use print apps -- for anything -- when we have 3 computers and 2 ipads and 2 iphones ?  And to use these apps, one has to have an Internet connection, right?  How often do people get Internet connections without having computers or tablets?
    Now, I can guess that HP is getting paid by these companies to put advertising on my printer.  So I know why it's happening.  But that just makes me madder, frankly.
    So, I'm out of luck I guess.  Please tell Marketing that if they insist on putting childish !#@$ on HP's otherwise beautiful printers, then I will have to go elsewhere next time.  Which is sad, actually.  Maybe that's why it bothers me so much.  I *like* HP printers.  What were they thinking?

    Hi rs789,
    These apps are default apps which appear on the printer by default for all photosmart printers. Disney app dont appear on any officejet printers by default.
    I found out a way finally to remove the default apps from hp connected.
    Remove the papers from your printer and keep it out of paper while doing this activity a
    1. Login to HP Connected.
    2. Navigate to the Printables section.
    3. Search for Disney app and click on the app icon.
    4. Click schedule this app and continue to the next page. Click save to save the settings.
    5. At this point a page will start to print. You can cancel the print on your printer.
    6. Now in the printables page you can see the following
    7. Now click on settings. From the drop down select Remove from my printables and then click on Save.
    8. This should remove the app from the printers front panel.
    Kind Regards,
    Oliver

    HI Sri
    You can use the Java code as given above
    Other method can be XSLT
      <xsl:stylesheet  xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="2.0">
                <xsl:output  method="xml" indent="yes" omit-xml-declaration="yes"/>

  • [JS][CS4] Remove all hidden page items?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to remove all hidden page items regardless of how many sublayers they are burried in. Is this possible? I wrote a snippet here that seems to only partly work. It removes all hidden page items unless two hidden items exist right after each other in the stacking order. Why would this be happening? Any suggestions?
    for (i=0; i<doc.pageItems.length; i++){
              if (doc.pageItems[i].hidden == true){
                   doc.pageItems[i].remove();
    I'm new to scripting so any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Lindsay

    What happens if you go from back to front? I think something like this
    #target illustrator
    var idoc = app.activeDocument;
    for (i = idoc.pageItems.length-1; i>=0; i--){
              if (idoc.pageItems[i].hidden == true){
                   idoc.pageItems[i].remove();
    Worked on a trial
