Batch Resizing in Photoshop Elements

When I try to resize a large batch of images, the program stops working soon after 200.  I have 4900 that
need reducing.  Can it be done?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I had thought of smaller batches but
about 200 at a time out of 5K sure slows the process down.
I looked at Irfanview and found that it is only a PC app.
Thanks for your help

I want to know how to create a new script that can be run in batch proces in Photoshop Element 11 ?

Have a look at the menu file/process multiple files. You can choose to add your signature (or the caption) to the image and export the new files.
If that solution is not flexible enough, consider using the very affordable (12$)  Elements+ add-on which offers a 'meta stamp' script :

Otherwise, have a look at other free and good solutions like Faststone Photoresizer, Xnview...

    not for "batch editing"
You can set PSE as the external editor in the iPhoto preferences. iPhoto has the capability to directly interface with any external editor - simply go to the iPhoto preferences (iPhoto menu ==> preferences ==> General and set the Edit photo option to in external editor - select the desired external editor and you are set - now when you edit photos they are sent to the selected external editor and when you are finished editing you save (not save as) and the edited photo is returned to iPhoto, the original is maintained in iPhoto and the iPhoto database is correctly updated.
If you want the option of editing in either iPhoto or the external editor after selecting your external editor simply set the edit in back to main window - now when you right click (control Click) on a photo you will get a menu which allows you to select either.

  • How to "save for web" via batch processing in Photoshop elements

I have a bunch of logos that need to be resized and 'save for web." How can I process these files as a batch in Photoshop elements. Many thanks!

You can batch save them as jpgs, gifs, or PNGs using Process Multiple Files, and even batch resize them as long as they are all in the same orientation and the same aspect ratio (shape), but  the resulting files will be somewhat larger than you'd get with Save for Web because Save for Web removes the photos' exif data, which PMF won't. Since these are logos, there shouldn't be much difference.

  • I need help resizing in Photoshop Elements 3...Can anyone help me??

So I have Photoshop Elements 3 for Mac.
The image mode is RGB Color, and I have a certain layer that I want resized. So I go to Image - Transform - Free Transform. Once I am done resizing the image, and I have it how I want it, I hit enter, and the whole layer automatically blurs. I've looked everywhere on the program, but I can't find out how to stop this. I don't want the layer blurred. So if anyone can help me, I would really really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
PS: Sorry if this has been asked/answered already. I'm not very smart. x_x
Oh and if you reply, would you mind emailing me your reply too?? I check that more than I check here. My email is [email protected] Thanks again! =D

  • Resize images - Photoshop Elements 4

Is it possible to automatically resize "multiple" photos in Photoshop Elements 4 to 720 x 480 pixels, so that when the resized images are transferred to Premier Elements 2 and then burned onto a DVD the whole image(s) are seen on a TV screen?
Quite often I have found that I must manually resize the images so they fit into the safe margins but this can be a tedious process if there are a lot of photos.
    Thank you.

  • Batch processing in Photoshop elements 9

Hi, I have have hundreds of photos in folders that I want to resize in batch using PSE 9. I would appreciate receiving instructions. Many thanks.

Go to the File menu in the Editor and select Process Multiple Files. This lets you perform renaming and resizing en masse. You can select the source folder and choose to include sub-folders. You also have the option to overwrite or save the new files to a different location.
The only thing to bear in mind is there's no option to prevent up-sizing. If you specify a new size that's greater than the photo(s) being processed it will increase the dimensions, with the possible loss of quality.

  • How to resize images in Photoshop Elements so that they cover the screen on a widescreen tv?

I'm having difficulty resizing my photos in landscape
view so that they cover the entire screen on our
widescreen tv.  Also, how to do them as batch
files.  I have Photoshop Elements 9.0.
    Thank you.

The picture has to be the right pixel size.  If your camera can't take a wide screen picture then you have to crop each picture to the proper pixel size.  What I do is crop with no restrictions.  Make the width 8.348 inches and the height 4.696 inches and resolution 300.  After croping your picture will be 1920 x 1080 pixels.  You can now adjust to whatever size picture you want.  If you do some investigating on the internet you can probably find various sites that tell you what pixel dimensions for any size picture.  And also for inch dimensions.    I hope this helps.

  • Does photoshop elements enable save for web for a batch of photos?

does photoshop elements enable save for web or ready for web for a batch of photos ?

    Hi Patonabike,
You can batch save images as jpeg, png, tiff etc. using Process Multiple Files. This feature will even allow you to batch resize them (as long as they are the same orientation and aspect ratio). However, the resulting images may be larger than what you would get if you individually did 'Save for Web' because 'Save for Web' removes the photo's exif data (and Process Multiple Files won't).
With that said, it depends how you are editing your images and the results you are looking for, if you just want to rescale them or batch edit them - this is one way.
    Hope it helps!

  • Automated Resizing of Images in Photoshop Elements 9

I recently upgraded my wife's Photoshop Elements from version 6 to version 9.  However, there is one feature from version 6 that seems to not work in version 9.  When she drags an image into a blank template (of any size), the image drags in to the template in the full size.  So if the images are three times larger than the template, she has to resize every image after she drags them in which is a pain for her.  Previously in PSE6, when she dragged the image into the blank template, the program would automatically resize the image to fit within the window.  Then she could resize the iamge if she needed to.  It seems that there should be a setting for this, but I am coming up with nothing.  Anybody know of a solution to this?

You didn't say if your on mac or windows, so you may not be familar
with the elements organizer. The following workaround works on windows pse9,
if your on a mac it may also.
    1. In the elements organizer, select (highlight) the photos you want to use.
(don't open the photos into the elements editor, just select them)
    2. Back in the elements editor, with the project bin open, choose
Show Files Selected in the Organizer.
    3. When you drag the photos from the project bin into your document, they should resize
       similar to pse6.
If they are still to big, step back one step in the undo history panel from Transform the Frame to Place.

  • Batch processing photographs in Photoshop Elements 11

    Hi everyone,
I've been scanning in a lot of old photographs of late.  Many (probably all) of them would benefit from application of the "dust & scratches" filter, but it doesn't appear as an option in the "process multiple files" pull-down.  I've heard about "autohotkey" being used as an alternative mechanism for doing batch processing, but can't find an example online that works with Photoshop Elements 11.  Would anyone care to share any tips on how I could automatically process my scanned photographs in ways that "process multiple files" doesn't offer?
Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can offer.
    Best regards,
    Andrew.

One way which i've been doing this is to use the Image Processor script from photoshop in pse 11.
(only works in pse 11 or possibly future versions of photoshop elements)
You can download the PSE 11 Image Processor.zip, extract the file (right click on the zip and press Extract All)
    https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=ZOP9CgDC38plXHju4uVLkQ
and then copy the Image Processor.jsx to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Presets\Scripts (64 bit version of windows 8)
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Presets\Scripts (32 bit version of windows 8)
Start or restart pse11 and in the Expert mode it should be listed under File>Automation Tools>Image Processor
(an image doesn't have to be open to run the script)
Then we just need to know if you want the Dust and Scratches to use the same settings all the time or you want to be able to adjust the filter between photos.
(so we could send you the action to use with the image processor)
The image processor is similar to process mutiple fles except you can choose to run action that you have loaded in Window>Actions on the processed photos.
