Batch Save Files - Failing

Hello
I have scanned around 50 pages worth of images.  (in total making around 300 images)  I'm trying to batch crop and straighten then save them as a new image.  I have the crop and straighten part working.  But when I try and do a batch save via File, Scripting, Image Processing and us the following settings
When I click Run I get the following two messages
These files when cropped and straighten via Photoshop and then I tried to run the image processor.
I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.  I could save each image by hand,  but it seems like a lot of work for something that would be able to be automated.

  • Can you batch save as pdf's to excel files

I was wondering if there was a way of batch saving a number of PDF documents to EXCEL files so then we can collate and graph the data from there.

I would request you to refer the following document that explains how to batch save files .

Set Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. When I want to save the file in WORD, EXCEL or esporta file into ... immediately throws an error "save as failed to process this document no file was created".
    What's the problem?
Any help in finding a solution is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

Installed AcrobatXI PRO 11.0.09  on seven computers and laptops. Two of them gives an error when you try to save a document in WORD, EXCEL, Power Point, or when exporting to... error: Save failed to process this document. No File was created.
But all good saves in the format of TXT and jpg.
I have uninstalled and restored and re-installed and updated and registry cleaned and removed using the special utility Cleaner Tool for Acrobat, but nothing helps.
On one notebook with Windows 8.1 and Microsoft office 2013, on another laptop with Windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010, the same problem, although there are computers with Windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010 and everything works.
Tell me where to find the problem and how to solve it.
    Thank you.

  • Photoshop CS6 - Batch function will not save files

OK, I have used the "Automate/Batch" function well over a hundred times, so this situation (first time using it in CS6) is VERY frustrating!
    Running Adobe CS6 extended v. 13.0.1 x32 on a Win XP sp3 OS.
I have a slew of photos that need nothing done except to resize from the native file size to 6 in x 4 in @ 150 ppi and save into a new folder (to not override the original).  I have recorded the action multiple times now and each time I run the action, the files do not save! Here are the various parameters I've used:
    Attempt #1:
         Action Steps Recorded -
    Open

Please help!  This has never been a problem before CS6 and I truly am at my wits end trying to figure out why the files will not save.  I have several hundred files that I need to run this on, so doing it individually is not an option.
Thanks in advance for any and all insights!

I'm having a problem with Automating > Batch as well. Strange enough, I did a batch of other photos and it worked fine. Selecting a new set of folders is not working at all; the files simply pop open and then close but the destination folder remains empty. It also doesn't appear the actions are occuring since I don't see them highlighting as the automation runs. I have no idea why it would work then not. BTW, "Override Action "Save As" is unchecked.
    ~CG
UPDATE: I put a "save as" command at the beginning of the action, then checked the "Override Action "Save As" box and it somehow works now, but not before stalling on an image (normally the last in the folder) and complaining that the image was being used in another program. The only other program opened was Bridge so I'm unsure why it had a problem. I closed both programs and ran the automation with nothing else opened and it worked ... ?? Confused, but not complaining (for now).

  • Save as failed to process this document. No file was created.

I've had Adobe Acrobat XI installed on my computer since November of 2013 and had never had any problems with the 'Save As' function - I could save all kinds of PDFs to Word, Excel, Power Point -- whichever format I needed -- until yesterday. Now I am suddenly getting "Save as failed to process this document. No file was created."
I also have the exact same set up (Windows 8, 64, Adobe Acrobat XI) on my laptop and have no issues w/ the "Save As" feature. To make sure that it is just my desktop's Acrobat that is acting strange, I took the exact same document and was NOT ABLE to "Save As" on desktop -- and was, with no issues, able to "Save As" the exact same document to Word on my laptop.
The ability to "Save As" is a feature that I use often -- so, please, tell me how I can get that feature back. I've already tried the "Repair" feature in Acrobat - no luck.

    Hi Bill,
Yes - I did the upgrade - which I was avoiding because last time I upgraded, the font and icons within Adobe Acrobat became microscopic -- so I did a 'system restore' and turned off my updates. I have old eyes & work with Adobe Acrobat all day -- so the tiny print is horrible.
So, now I can either NOT be able to see the fonts and have the ability to convert to Word/Excel, etc OR, I can revert and actually SEE the fonts - but not be able to convert the documents I need to convert. This sucks.
Adobe Acrobat XI upgrade (11.0.06 and .07) has really been a disappointment. I've done all the little tricks about trying to fix the size of the fonts - but, just like most of what I've read, I can either have HUGE fonts/menus, etc or make it 'readable' by changing the registry - but then end up w/ horrible little icons.
It's really sad to have to choose one or the other - I'm very disappointed in Adobe.
    Thanks for your input!!

  • "Save As failed to process this document. No file was created." Error trying to convert pdf to word document

Hi - I have a pdf created from indesign as a print quality pdf. The client now wanted to text in an editable format so they can reuse the content for a new years event.
I get an error message "Save As failed to process this document. No file was created."
Can anyone help out here?  There are a lot of graphics in it and it is horizontal - could any of this be an issue?
    Thanks
    Nikola

Totally agree. Saving the pdf as a word file gives it the look of a word file, until corrections have to be made. The text flow will be, so to say, "strange". Reusing that file in Indesign ...
We always save as rtf, send that one back and relink it afterwards (as long as the styles stay the same, only smaller corrections have to be made.

  • Can I delete failed save files?

My overall goal is to take my higher resolution FCPX project and export it as a web playable smaller movie. I tried export movie, but ran into the problem I'm going to ask about. Next up I'll try exporting using Compressor Settings, that'll probably achieve what I want.
So, as I went through the export movie steps, expecting to see something that would ask me about the dimensions of the movie (it never did ask), I let it go ahead and do its thing. After clicking Save I just saw the cursor spinning, so I went to bed.
This morning I found that it has filled my drive, and there were 14GBs of High Quality Media files. I had to force quit FCPX.
Now I have the original project, with a file structure of Final Cut Events/eventname/Original Media, etc, and also Final Cut Projects/New Project/Render Files/Thumbnail Media/ and High Quality Media and Peaks Data too.
Deleting All Render files for the event doesn't remove those files. Is there a built in way to delete the failed-save files, or can I safely manually delete the files? At least the 14GB of high quality ones?

I believe those folders were made during the export stage, certainly the "New Project" name is what I let it use. The Final Cut Events folders do seem to have the original media, so I'll give it a try deleting the high quality export files.
    Thanks for the encouragement!

  • "Always ask me where to save files" does not work.

Summary: The "Always ask me where to save files" feature does not work. No dialog box comes up, apparently because the browser is stuck on a bad old read-only lastDir location, in a prefs.js file that I can't edit.
    Details:
I am using Firefox 30.0 on Mac OS 10.6.8. My Mac has a both a read/write Mac partition that I use most of the time, and a bootcamp Windows partition drive ("C"), which I can read but not write to.
At some point I accidentally tried to download a file from a site, using Firefox, to the read-only Windows C drive. Ever since that time, I have not been able to download any files from Firefox, except to the firefox/downloads folder. This is inconvenient. If, in preferences, I try to set downloads to ""Always ask me where to save files", the dialog box does not come up when I actually try to save files. This problem does not apply to saving photos by right-clicking them.
If I open, in text-edit, mozilla/firefox/profiles/t4vockvue.default/prefs.js, which was saved yesterday, I can see a problematic line. It reads:
    user_pref("browser.download.lastDir", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\[etcetc]");
C:\\Documents and Settings\\[etcetc] being the read-only windows directory.
This prefs.js is apparently not an editable file.
I tried to fix this by opening a browser tab in Firefox and opening about:config. The editable browser.download.lastDir does NOT show the same "lastDir"....it shows some directory that I successfully downloaded photos to, by right-clicking on a photo.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks.

To confirm which profile folder is active when you are running Firefox, it is easiest to open it from inside Firefox as follows:
Sometimes the file that stores the customizations becomes corrupted and fails to update properly at the end of your session. You can rename the file and customize from scratch.
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
In the first table on the page, click the "Show in Finder" button (Windows: "Show Folder" button).
Hopefully you are using a separate profile folder on each OS.

  • Re Time Machine "You do not have appropriate access privileges to save file ".002332b7be8a" warning preventing backups--this may help temporarily

My TM is often giving me the "You do not have appropriate access privileges to save file “.002332b7be8a” in folder “Time Machine Backups”" message when I go to select my backup drive. I've reviewed past archived discussions on this and, like many other people, gotten completely flummoxed trying to find a permanent solution.  Tried the suggested fixes via Terminal and it didn't help because I couldn't get through the entire process without Terminal telling me it couldn't find a file or drive.  When I can find the time, I'm going to try Tinker Tool to reveal where that numbered file actually is and give it another go.
In the meantime, for those who are desperate to get their TM working again to get at least one backup done, I can offer people a temporary solution that's worked for me.
I've found that restarting my iMac somehow resets TM and usually allows it to do at least one of its automatic backups, sometimes several, before it reverts back to failing and producing that same darn warning message.  I only want a backup done once a day, so it's not that inconvenient to go this route.
There's another even quicker  method (perhaps a little more risky but hasn't been a problem for me yet) that I've been using more recently, and that is to simply unplug the external while the iMac is on (I close system preferences first though, and make sure TM isn't actually doing anything at the time) then plugging it back in and choosing the backup drive again in the TM system preferences window once that drive has shown up again in the Mac's list of devices.  I don't get that warning message when I do this.  It works every time for me and so far it hasn't lost or corrupted any data on the external, despite the warning message you get on Macs when you unplug a USB device without ejecting it first.  However, do this at your own risk--don't flame me if it backfires on you.  If you're of the opinion that it's not wise to unplug the device this way, then fine, go ahead and state such in this thread, but be polite about it.
Hope this helps anyone who's frantic to make a backup without having to start from square one with a whole new complete initial backup (can take many hours to make one) on a fresh external drive.
By the way, I've read somewhere that this problem was fixed with Snow Leopard.  Whether that's true is another matter.  I'm not quite ready to update to 10.6 for other reasons, even though I bought it, and I figure some other people are also still using 10.5.8 out of fear and loathing around the unknowns of installing a new OS too, so that's why I thought I'd post this message (couldn't find a discussion around this that was still active and not archived).

Wow, I haven't seen that in a looooong time!
Tried the suggested fixes via Terminal and it didn't help because I couldn't get through the entire process without Terminal telling me it couldn't find a file or drive.
Do you mean in #C5 of Time Machine - Troubleshooting?
When I can find the time, I'm going to try Tinker Tool to reveal where that numbered file actually is and give it another go.
It should be at the top level of the drive.
By the way, I've read somewhere that this problem was fixed with Snow Leopard.
Yes.  I'm not sure if it was 10.6.0 or one of the early updates, but I haven't seen any reports of this in quite a while.

  • I cannot print from Websites or my college online course. Tries to save files to desktop as an .xps document but nothing happens and I get an error message that print command did not work. Have reinstalled firefox and adobe, no help. Any suggestions?

Cannot print anything from internet using Firefox as browser. Please advise. I have to use Firefox for internet college courses, cannot print my assignments. I do not have this problem on Mac or using Internet Explorer. Only happens when using Firefox. When I select print a message comes up to save information to desktop as .xps file. Select save, sometimes it is on the desktop but I cannot open the file or it simply does not save file and get an error message that print command failed. What is happening?

{Ctrl + P} and select your printer in the Printer - Name box near the top of that window.

  • HT1751 Consolidating files failed.  The file name was invalid or too long.  How to trouble shoot this?

I am trying to move my iTunes library from old XP PC to Windows 7 PC, using an external hard drive.  Using tutorial and signed in as administrator.  Trying to consolidate my library and receive error message " Copying files fail. The file name was invalid or too long".    Don't know what to do as next step.   The library is sitting on the hard drive under the Administrator ID (My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music).
    Any thoughts?

You can select a group of tracks and consolidate from the right-click context menu. You coud try consolidating in batches, say all songs by artists beginning with A, then B, etc, then the other media types, until you can isolate a problem track and then try moving that by hand and fixing the broken link.
I also have two scripts that could help you, Unconsolidated and ConsolidateByMoving. The first can make a playlist of all unconsolidated tracks, the second can consolidate a selection of tracks by moving them instead of copying.

  • HT1751 I did all of the above and at the "Consolidate files" screen I clicked "ok" then it sayd "copying files failed. the file name was invalid or too long" and I had to click "OK"  I cannot consolidate the files to transport  to my external harddrive -h

I would like to backup my itunes to my external hard drive
I did all the steps up to "organize Liberary" which at this point I checked the box and the clicked"ok"
it then said "copying files failed.  The file name was invalid or too long" "OK"
It will  not let me consolidate the files so I can transfer to my external hard drive
what am I doing wrong - any suggestions?
    thanks,

Are you using consolidate files to bring in stray files to your main iTunes Media folder before backing up, or to copy the media folder to the external drive as part of backing up? If it is the latter then you are taking the wrong approach. See this user tip.
Run my script Unconsolidated on the library. It will show you the remaining unconsolidated files which might give a clue as to which files iTunes is having a problem with. You can consolidate selected files in batches (select, right-click) as opposed to trying to do everything in one go. Alternatively you could try moving the remaining unconsolidated files with ConsolidateByMoving as long as this step is a precursor to a backup..
