Batch sequence folder location in Win7

Sorry to duplicate this -- got the message saying it was answered, but the link led nowhere and the question itself appears to have vanished.
I'm trying to figure out where to copy my user-defined batch sequences for the migration from the old WinXP PC to the new Win7 PC. The folder path for these on the Win XP machine seems to have no counterpart in Win7.
Same program version & edition (AA 9 Pro) on each machine -- deactivated on the old one & installed on the new.

Thanks, try67. For anyone else looking for this (and perhaps having no idea what the JS console is or how to access it, as I didn't), the batch sequences path for a a standard Win7 installation and AA 9 appears to be:
C:\Users\YourLoginName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\Sequences

Possible to do make Batch Sequence Searchable by date?

I want to know if it is possible to edit/create new script to Edit Batch Sequence - Searchable, recognize text Using OCR, but to only do it for a date range? How would I go about doing this.
Right now it takes multiple screens and clicks to make documents searchable, I would like to create a script that tells you the last time you did a batch searchable request, allows you to select a date range, folder would ideally be built in - so I do not have to select it everytime and then on selection of date range, it runs and completes the request. Is this possible? Where do I start?

Date of what? Do you mean the file's creation date?
If so, that's not possible. You can access the file's creation date in a script, but a script can't OCR a file.
The best way would be to create an input folder and paste into it the files you want to OCR.

Batch Sequence with JavaScript

Hi Guys,
I have a batch sequence that won't save the original files. I'm getting a message "The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."
However, another batch sequence that runs on the same file saves it fine so I know that noone else has it open and that and I know I have rights to that folder.
The sequence that won't save the file sets the open optons and has JavaScript in it that collapses the many bookmarks.
Is there something about having JavaScript in the batch sequence that's not allowing this to save?

You rock!! That made it all go.
I was mistaken befeore thought, its the JavaScript Editor that's coming up on the screen when I run the sequence. I have to close it with the OK button before the sequence finishes. It comes up for each file I process. Trouble is I can't imagine what I've changed that would cause that to start happening.

Batch sequence to 'flatten' xfa form to static non-interactive AcroForm

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to flatten a bunch of xfa forms in a batch sequence. The result being the exact same as printing to pdf.
I believe I use to just add optimizer settings in the sequence editor and that would do the trick. But now I'm getting an error saying optimization settings cannot be applied to an xfa form.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Actually George I found a solution. They are dynamic xfa forms. I realized that the pdf printer settings has an option to suppress the save as dialog and default the output flat pdfs to a location of my choosing. I just set the pdf printer as my default printer and run a batch sequence to print the dynamic pdfs.
It requires a decent system with lots of memory since an instance of Acrobat is opened for every pdf processed but it does the trick!

Batch sequence memory leak?

I wrote a JavaScript batch sequence and ran it in Acrobat 9 Pro on a folder of PDFs. Acrobats memory use steadily increased until it hit 1.1 GB. Then an Acrobat dialog said no files were processed, the memory use dropped back to normal and the CPU usage dropped to zero. So it looks like the problem includes a memory leak. As a test, I replaced my batch sequence with a simple, one-line test:
var r = test;
It has the same behavior. Any ideas?

i have gone through those APIs you have mentioned and understood that we can run any custom command or existing global command using those APIs.
my requirement is to launch the sequence file created. is there any way to directly launch the sequence file or else do i need to process the sequence file to know the command and parameters?
if i need to process the sequence file, it will be always "Recognize text using OCR" and parameters may differ. for this, what is the command i need to execute?
i am new to this environment, please dont mistake me.

Add menu item for Batch Sequence?

Hello,
I've created a folder level script that will execute when Acrobat starts. The script adds a menu item, that when clicked, will call another function.
I'm wondering if I can create a batch sequence and add a menu item for that as well? I basically just want to avoid going through the whole Advanced -> Doucment Processing -> Batch processing... -> and then find the batch sequence and click Run.
I've seen plenty of examples for adding menu items that call folder level scripts, but nothing on batch sequences. Has anyone ever done this?

You can't create a menu item to a specific batch sequence. The closest you
can get is to open the batch sequences window, using the execMenuItem()
method and "BatchEdit" as the name of the command (I'm not sure it's still
the same in Acrobat X).

Can you create toolbar icons to launch batch sequence?

As per subject is it possible to create a toolbar icon in Acrobat 8 to launch a specific batch sequence?

It seems that each time I delve into Acrobat javascript I can do part of the job in a batch sequence and the other part in folder level java but not the lot in either one!
The stumbling block was setting initial page opening options via a folder java script so all the actions would be triggered by a toolbar button (update doc info, set security options and initial view of the PDF currently open in Acrobat).
Thanks anyway at least I know I did not miss how to add the buttons in the Adobe guides.

Can I batch assign a location?

Can I batch assign a location? My scenario is that I have all my images for this year in only one folder and many of them are taken in the same location and I would like to assign that location to the batch, which I select by clicking on the relevant images. Thanks for any help.

Select the folder and switch to browser view then in the upper right hand corner of the screen select the places icon
This will open places with all the images in the folder in the filmstrip. Select them all and drag them to the proper place on the map.

Itines folder location-tranfereing to the wrong area

i have my itunes set so when i import music it tranfers into a folder location in my firewire exteral harddrive. Lately all my music now is tranfering into a sub folder called compilations and when i tranfer it to my ipod it will not show up under the artist name. please help.

When you have the disk mounted, but before you import to iTunes, do a Get Info and the option you are looking for is at the bottom left of the screen - 'Compilation CD'. Just had to find a new CD to import to test it with

How to change folder location for Downloads

True, you can copy the download folder's icon by selecting "get info" then clicking the icon, selecting copy, then selecting the target/desired folder for downloads, selecting "get info", clicking once on the icon and selecting paste.
However, this doesn't get you the uber-cool green download arrow in the sidebar.
Leopard really should have a preference in System Preferences for a default Downloads folder location...no matter the drive or location. I too prefer my downloads be directed to a different drive and had manually created "downloads" folders in my sidebars in prior versions of the OS.
As others have commented, the icons in Leopard for the special folders lack differentiation in both color and silhouette/shape, relying on those embossed characters that are a bit too subtle for my tastes...but that's just opinion.
Similarly, Leopard should introduce default browser and media app selection in preferences instead of requiring the launch of Safari or QuickTime etc.. It's an incredibly poor choice to bury preferences with system wide applicability in proprietary apps.

I cannot view delegate mailbox in Outlook. Following is my configure.
I have two mailbox A-User and B-User
Login Outlook as A-User, click File -> Account Settings -> Delegate Access, add B-User and give Editor permission of Inbox.
Right click A-User's root inbox and select Properties -> Permission, select B-User and check "Folder visible".
Login Outlook as B-User on other computer, click File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings, select B-User and click Change -> More Settings -> Advanced, add A-User.
Now I can see a root A-User in Navigation Pane. But when I click it, it shows
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location."
or
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found".
I searched some solutions from internet, but all of them don't work. Could you give some suggestions?

Have you looked in the Music App on your iPhone? On the iPhone music is played by the Music App not iTunes.

How to stop iTunes from looking in old media folder location?

Several years ago, I moved my iTunes media onto an external drive attached to my Airport Extreme, because I was running out of room on the internal drive.
I had all the usual problems with iTunes looking on the internal drive, but it mostly worked okay, as long as I didn't mind only being able to access my music at home.
A few months ago, I got a 2TB internal drive, and told iTunes to use the default media folder location on the internal drive again. I also check to keep iTunes media folder organized, and to copy files to the iTunes media folder when adding them to the library. I had already manually copied the folder structure over from the external drive.
I noticed that when I would start iTunes, I would see the activity light on the external drive, and it would be mounted on my Desktop. I checked, and the location for the media folder was still correct in preferences. I checked a file or two and (this seems to be gone in iTunes 12.1) it was still showing the file location on the other drive.
I tried to manually "cut the cord" by renaming the folder on the external drive, but iTunes was cleverer than that.
What do I need to do to stop iTunes from looking for files in the old location? I'd like to reclaim that space, but I'm afraid to remove anything over there, in case iTunes has been putting things over there instead of the new, correct location.
This is a MacBook Pro 8,2 i7, with 10.10.3 and iTunes 12.1.x.

Manually moving files yourself and telling iTunes where to store media in preferences does not do what oh so many people who come here with issues think it does. Changing iTunes' media storage preferences only tells iTunes where to store new media. iTunes still looks for old media where it last saw it, namely on your external drive. You have to let iTunes do the relocating of the old media files by consolidating to the internal drive. It will cheerfully ignore any changes you do in Finder yourself.

How do I change the iTunes media folder Location and save it?

I have a seagate drive where I store my music and have it shared as "M". Each time iTunes starts up, it defaults back to C:\...... and if there is a device connnected, it transfers the purchases from that device to this directory.
I need to manually go in and change the location each time iTunes starts. Is there a way to save this location as the default? I am on Version 10.

If iTunes starts up and it can't get access to the location that you have declared as the media folder it will revert to the default subfolder of the library folder. Any downloads or rips will be put in that location until you correct the media folder location via Edit > Preferences > Advanced.
Either make absolutely certain the drive is active and available before starting iTunes or place the library folder on the other drive as well (see this post) so that iTunes either opens normally or warns that it cannot find the library. Note if this is a networked drive rather than locally connected USB/SATA there may be noticeable performance issues with the latter solution.
