Batchload pictures in Keynote '09

PowerPoint allows the user to batch load a whole bunch of pictures into a presentation as individual slides. If I want to do this with Keynote'09 how do I go about doing it?

In the Keynote Preferences, under General, if you check "Reduce placed images to fit on slides", imported images that are larger than the slide will be reduced so that they fit the height of the slide. (Smaller images will not be scaled up, and wider images will not be scaled to fit the slide width, only the slide height.)

  • Use picture from keynote in another program?

This may be a weird question but I hope there is an easy solution that's staring me in the face.
I have a presentation in Keynote that I want to use the elements of for a presentation in another program (Prezi).  I've managed to misplace my original file of one picture and after digging in the computer for a while, am wondering if there is a way to either locate the photo through Keynote, get info, get the name of the file...anything that will more easily allow me to track it down.
I tried copy and pasting but Prezi doesn't work with Keynote in that way.
    Thanks!

Click on image, open Metrics Inspector in File info you will see name of the file. Drag it to the Desktop. Now you have desired file on desktop.

  • Adding pictures into keynote

I have a OD user who is having trouble adding pictures from iPhoto into Keynote. They are dragging photos from iPhoto onto Keynote Presentation and it is taking (in their words 5 mins) to add each picture. What could be happening here?  Is there a solution?
    Thanks in advance

They are dragging photos from iPhoto onto Keynote Presentation
    To add images from iPhoto:
Within Keynote, click Media in the Toolbar, then select an image from your iPhoto, Aperture, or Photo Booth library.

  • Widescreen pictures from Keynote into a podcast

I created a Keynote presentation at 1280x720 resolution, exported it to iPhoto to be put into an enhanced podcast. But when I drop pictures into the podcast track, it zooms into the center of the picture, cutting off the left and right side. Is there any picture controls in Garageband so I can fix that?

Just double-click the image in the timeline to bring up the editor.

  • Importing pictures into keynote

I've already been able to import pictures into my Ipad2 using Itunes, but I still can't insert them into my Keynote presentations, not even pictures from the IPad's internal camera roll. I've followed the steps listed in the Help file, but whenever I tap on a particular picture, nothing happens. Help please.

The simplest way is to go to Keynote, and export the Keynote pages you need one at a time in JPEG format. Now you can open iMovie and drag these jpeg files into the video at the spot where you need them, and the slide will be visible while the audio from the video track continues to play.

  • Import pictures into Keynote

How can I import complete images into my iOS Keynote slides? If I save an image from a website to my camera roll and then import it into an iOS Keynote photo slide field only oart if the image is imported - the part that fits the field. The rest is cropped out. Surely there must be a better way.  Thank you.
    Chuck

if you already have the photos on slides, highlight all the slides and change their theme to the blank slide master. The next time you want to bring in a bunch of photos, make sure the intial slide is the blank slide, select all of your photos in the Finder window and drag them into the slide sorter pane on the left. Slides will be created for each photo with the master that was assigned to that first slide.

  • Using Vintage theme picture frame in Keynote '09

I love the picture frame that is featured in the vintage theme. My question is this, I would like to use the frame for some pics I want to add to my website. Is there a way to either export the picture from keynote or can I grab the frame from keynote and use it in Illustrator to lay the photo out? I have looked all over the internet and can't find something similar I could purchase. Any help would be appreciated!

You can do either. You can add the picture to Keynote and apply the frame, then copy and open Preview and File>New from Clipboard (command n) then save as whatever file format you want it to be.
You could do the same steps with a shape and then just add the pictures in Illustrator and not have to continually add the pictures to Keynote first.

  • Keynote for iOS file size: inserting photos from Mac first or from iPad?

    Hi!
This one is for people with advanced and extensive knowledge of Keynote for Mac and for iOS:
Does inserting pictures in Keynote for iOS from the Photos app result in a leaner file size than importing the Keynote file with pictures already inserted from the Keynote for Mac app?

    Hey Timmy,
I use Dropbox to get my photos to/from my iPad to my computer wirelessly (no iTunes). The process below is one I posted a few weeks ago for the opposite process than what you're wanting to do (from iPad to computer) but Dropbox will work both ways. Just set up a Dropbox folder on your computer and set up the Dropbox app on your iPad and they will both be in sync automatically.
    Hope this helps!
    ~Joe
---from a post I did a few weeks ago---
The Dropbox app has a very cool auto-upload process that will automatically upload photos from the iPad Camera Roll to Dropbox.
First sign up for a free Dropbox account from your computer.
Then, download the free Dropbox app on your iPad.
Log in to the Dropbox app on the iPad with your new account and click on the Photos icon in the lower left corner of the screen (second one from the left).
Select "Enable Camera Upload" and "Only Wi-Fi." The upload process will begin for all existing photos in the Camera Roll.
From now on, all future photos taken by the iPad will automatically upload to the Dropbox folder. You can then download your photos from Dropbox to your computer by going to http://www.dropbox.com, logging in to your account, and downloading the photos. You can then put the photos on a USB drive or burn to a CD or upload them to a photo processing website.
    Hope this helps!
    ~Joe

  • Is it possible to find out the names of the various objects (jpegs, pdf's, etc) in a keynote presentation?

I have to re do a keynote presentation for powerpoint -- the export feature won't work on the pc -- it simply says that it wasn't possible to display some of the text and objects because they had become corrupted, and were replaced with blank slides.  I was wondering if it's possible to find out the names of the objects used in the presentation.  That way I could save them to a folder and just paste them in to the PPT version on the PC.  I know they have to be somewhere on the Mac that the presentation was made on, so is it also possible to find out where they would be?
I tried right clicking on the objects in the slide, but there was no 'get info' option, like there is in a finder window.  Please help if you can.
    Chris

There are a few options for you here. In the Inspector>Metrics Tab, when you click on the picture, it will display the name. Then you can use the find feature of the Finder to locate the picture. If you have Keynote set to save files as Packages, you can right click the file in the Finder (or control click) and then select Show Package Content. This will show you all the files that make up your Keynote and you can copy the pictures out of there into a new folder. Finally, if you can't find them any other way, you can select and copy the picture in Keynote, then open Preview and command-n (or File Menu>New from Clipboard) and then save the file to where ever you want so you can find it.

  • Add photo to keynote

Is there no way to insert a photo in to a keynote page with out installing I photo? Iphoto is a horrible piece of software for any one other than facebook folks.
Keynote keeps telling me to go to Iphoto too get an image and will not let me choose from either a file location or even aperture, much less Lightroom or Photoshop.
Please let me know if I am missing something.

    Thanks John,
That did work but i was trying to use the simple button that says media/pictures within Keynote and it says to go to Iphoto. So i guess we must have multiple apps open to achieve the simple now.

  • Keynote 4 - selecting text in text frame causes spinning beach ball

One friend of mine called me tonight and was seeking for help. He has Mac OS X 10.5.1 and Keynote 4.0.1. He imported picture in Keynote, added text frame on top of it and typed in some text. Then he went to another slide, but then returned back to resize text in the text frame. As soon he selects text, he gets spinning beach ball of death...
I asked him to repair permissions and restart his MacBook Pro 17", but still he has the same problem. He tried the same with different font in the text frame - the same. As soon as he tries to select text in the text frame, he gets spinning beach ball again.
Any ideas how to help him?...

OK, Carolyn, I wrote down all my prefs (glad I did), trashed the prefs file, restarted, relaunched TextEdit, reset all my preferences to my liking (which had reverted to default settings), quit TextEdit. Then I tried double-clicking some text files -- and the same problem (#2 above) persists. None of my TextEdit or text files have TextEdit as the default launch application -- they're still all either "None" or "ams1108.html". And, as before, if I try to change it to "TextEdit" in the file's info box, then click on "change all," it does not work: not only does it not change all the text files to be TextEdit, but clicking "change all" will cause the file in question to revert to "None" or "ams1108.html". However, if I only change the default app for that one file to TextEdit, and don't click "change all," then it will stick -- for now at least. (Though I wouldn't be surprised if after a restart they all changed back to "None.")
The short assessment is: trashing the prefs did NOT fix problem #2 above. It may or may not have fixed problem #1 -- hard to tell immediately, since the only way to find out is the use TextEdit for two days.
So, setting aside problem #1 for now: any suggestions for fixing problem #2 (default app can't be changed to TextEdit by clicking "change all")? I have thousands and thousands of TextEdit files I use, so changing them all manually one-by-one isn't feasible. Thanks.

  • Saving Date Stamped Pictures

I have about 25K pictures on my Aperture library and about 5K of them were converted from slides, scanned old pictures and taken on cameras that did not do dating.  It was a lot of work but manually I gave proper (close) dates to each of the 5K pictures.  I realize that I have time but with Aperture coming to an end and not knowing what kind of sorting the new Photo program will have I want to make sure that I save all my Pictures by Keynote, and and by Star rating, and also by year.  If I just export each individual category mentioned will all my manual additions go with the individual jpeg so I can easily add them to whatever program might be worth using?  I would hate to lose hundreds of hours worth of work.

Use File >export > versions and select to include metadata.
CHeck if if all metadata have been added by re importing one of the exported images and check the metadata in Aperture..

  • Keynote Image Problem

Any ideas on this one? I've had students who put pictures in Keynote (internet, copies of a file from their server, scanned picture, digital picture), and when the student opens it at a later time (after saving it) the picture disappears. All that's left is a box with an X.
Any ideas on how to fix this (other than deleting the box and putting the picture back in)?

I have a user that is also experiencing this problem. She was working on a keynote presentation, saving it to the server. At one point she saved and closed the document and the next time she opened it the pictures were missing. The file had gone from 2.5G to 760K in size. She was dragging and dropping the images in or copying and pasting from another document, depending on the image. I'm not sure what format the images she was adding were (and neither is she). When I checked the package contents of an earlier version of the presentation all the images were listed as .tiff and
    She's using a Macbook 2Ghz DC w/ 1G ram. Keynote version 3.02, Mac OS 10.4.11. The server is a Windows 2003 server.

  • TV Screen Effect

I want to do an effect, whether I do it directly in Keynote or wherever. I want to insert a picture of an LCD panel and play video on the "screen". So for example, I can take a stock picture of an LCD panel off the Internet. Then I create a shape that fits the "screen" portion of the picture and I can drag an image in there and that works fine. But I wanted to try and place video in there as if it were a media placeholder. So then when I go to play the video on the slide, it is playing on the "screen". Is this possible.
    Thanks in Advance

You can do this +(but may need to use another program depending on your picture)+. If you can find a picture of the TV that shows a white screen with no words or graphics, then you can add the picture to Keynote and use the Instant Alpha to remove the white screen. Then place your movie in the screen area and you are set.
If you can not find the screen that always you to use Instant Alpha, you would need to use picture editing software +(such as Photoshop)+ to remove the content of the screen and save a .png or .pdf to keep the transparency.
