Batt life for recording ?

How long does the Batt life last for recording video on the new Nano.
And are there any limitations to file sizes on the video ie 4gb +

i've tested long file recording and didn t make it to 2 gb.
I ve managed 1,6 before video stopped recording. I use the nano to film running sessions (and races) and got about 1h28 on average.
I wonder if anyone has managed to start recording video from apple remote control (from apple in-hear headphones for instance)? it would be then easy to break up sessions and later get the whole event.
I put the ipod on video record and then switch the HOLD button to avoid stopping the recording but I'd like to manage all event (like a marathon) without having to remove my headband (with nano attached as third eye)

So, yeah, the title says it all.
I've updated my laptop to Lion quickly after use. I've had some bugs that have never dissapeared, like the cursor dissapearing, safari locking and closing itself, when it goes to sleep it hardly ever gives the full screen back after I press a button, just the little square around my default pic and where I should fill in my password. I've never seen them as much trouble, being used to a constant crashing windows before this one.
Lately we have some internet issues, but that's not my laptops fault. I don't use proxies so I shouldn't have trouble with that.
Let me quickly say that I use my laptop daily. I live quite an end from school and usually watch movies or make homework in the train up and back on my laptop. When I get to school, I just put it on during the first period, load it somewhere during the 3rd, and make it home and load it here. In school, I put it in 'sleep', so I don't restart it every lesson, I'm too lazy to do that. It's in constant use for usually 6 hours in school.
Now, it came to my attention that ML gives some trouble with the battery life. And I can't afford to lose my battery life. That would make my life a lot more complicated, because by doing homework in the train I save a lot of time so I have some free time in the evening, which I usually also spent behind my computer.
I'm downloading ML as we speak, but should I instal it? Or should I wait for a fix for this bug. I've heard from some people that the update makes their batt life better. Does the year you bought it matter, or are that just lucky people?
BTW, if it crashes, I have a Time Machine back up and actually, I don't need it, because there's nothing on it. I copy everything to my HDD, just in case.

This morning my MBP just woke up from sleep and is working without any glitches. I don't know what to say about this.

30 GB Battery LIfe when REcording

I get about 2 hours of battery life on a fully charged 30GB iPod when recording using iTalk. Is this the best anyone else is getting? What are alternatives for recording lectures with greater battery life?

one song to the other and i would accept some reduction
in the battery performance, but not to a third or fourth of the announced life. what disturbs me even more is that the recording time is not an hour plus 9 minute as i wrote, this was just the duration indicated on the file in reality it was only 35 minutes. does anybody have experiences with this recording features. if that's all i must say it is a complete flop, i paid some 90 $ for it. by the way, i am a real fan of the ipod, a very nice thing, i just think that my battery needs a change (it's only 7 month of age)

Battery life while recording

I would like to buy a creative mp3 player but i need to record conventions transmited by fm frequency. I need at least 8 hours of battery life to record a hole day.
I also work out, so i need a leight mp3 player.
Does the "Zen V Plus" or the "Zen neeon 2" suit my recording needs?

Recording Voice Memos
You can record voice memos using an optional iPod-compatible microphone (available for purchase at www.apple.com/ipodstore). You can store voice memos on your iPod and load them on your computer. You can set iPod to record at Mono quality (22 kHz, mono) to save space, or Stereo quality (44.1 kHz, stereo) for a better sound.
To record a voice memo:
1 Connect a microphone to the Dock connector port on your iPod.
2 Set Quality to Mono or Stereo.
3 To begin recording, choose Record.
4 Hold the microphone a few inches from your mouth and speak. To pause recording, select Pause.
5 When you finish, select Stop and Save. Your saved recording is listed by date and time.

Batter Life it ***** even i have update the iOS but the story is same even battery drain more rapidly than before. Is that a battery fix please rectify this issue.

Batter life is causing big issue for me. I have updte the IOS 5.0.1 but now the situation become worse for me. I charged it 100% in the morning but letter in the evening it switch off i.e battery discharge.

Which soundcard upto 150 USD would you recommend for RECORDING sound? I do not need all these 7.1, 3D sound and other things for computer games and DVD movies - I DO NOT play computer games and do no watch DVD movies, I do not even listen to music with a computer - I have a CD player for that purpose. Hi there buddy. First off, when did you purchase your iPhone. It's not unusual for iPhones's batteries to diminish after about a year and a half. Hopefully this won't come down to needing a replacment battery. First: make sure that you consistently close unused applications by double-tapping the home button, holding your finger on one of the apps until it begins to jiggle and than pressing the red circle button. This closes unuused apps that may be consuming battery power in the background. Alright, now what you need to do is first backup your iPhone in iTunes, by going to iTunes>Right-Click on the Device and than go to backup. Also I'd like you to go to Settings>iCloud and make sure you have everything important to you set to "ON", such as Contacts, Calendars, etc.
Once your iPhone is backed up, please restore the device in iTunes. You also want to make sure that you "Set up the Device" as new when setting it up again, DO NOT, RESTORE FROM THE BACKUP just yet. Test it out for a day and see if the battery still drains quickly. If it does, than your backup may be corrupted and causing your battery to diminish quickly, if that is the case, don't restore from your backup, instead redownload things indiviually through iCloud, such as Contacts, Calendars, etc. If it doesn't than Call 1-800-MY-APPLE or visit an Apple Retail Store in order to get your battery replaced.

My project topic is "Bluetooth Walkie Talkie " , And I am trying my best and putting

I thought let me complete the recording The audio and playing part first,
The recording and playing of audio is working fine , But i would like to do it a real manner as Real Walkie talkie does, I want to record audio ONLY when the Key is being
pressed , and when its released it should exit the player hence saving the recorded file,
(Actually i dont want to save it in future,i would be sending the bytearray though the bluetooth , but for now , I want the Current module to be ready)

serve my purpose, Let me clearly tell where I am stuck , After the midlet starts(by launching it) then i would like to press a key( keypressed say No 5) for certain
amount of time and the audio should be recorded only for the keypressed duration ,
after I release , it should stop recording and save as a wav file .
Whats happening is When i keep the key pressed , The midlet asks whether to allow
the recording , for this purpose when I release key the control is going out, and

Midlet asking whether to allow the recording are typical permissions prompts specified by MIDP security policy. You need to sign the MIDlet and give it proper permissions.
Problems like this were discussed in an older thread at WTK forum: *[MIDlet keeps asking for permission.|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5347313]* According to one of the posters in the thread, +"...I got it to work on the emulator by setting the permission to 'manufacturer'. It runs smoothly without annoying questions..."+
If you're interested, check documentation and tutorials on MIDP security policy for more details.
For events to record audio only when the key is being pressed, consider GameCanvas API, method getKeyStates.
I am not certain though if doing it this way is a good idea. I doubt that phone users have same habits as those of walkie-talkies; for them it might be indeed more comfortable to use single simple key presses to start and finish recording.

How do I use optical input for recording in Garageband 9?

I'm trying to use the Optical Line Input on my G5 for recording in Garageband, using a MOTU 828. I have the 828 optical output connected to the optical audio input on the G5, and I have Digital In (Optical digital-in port) selected in system preferences/sound. But in Garageband preferences, optical or digital input is not among my choices. If I select system setting or built-in audio 2, I get no signal. If I select MOTU 828, it defaults to the analog master outputs on the 828.
I am a Logic 8 user, and I'm able to select the optical input in Logic with no problem. I have my MOTU audio setup set so that the optical output is the default output, but Garageband still seems to use the analog output. I can tell by the record level, which is considerably louder for analog than for optical.
Any suggestions?

Can you use logic express on a mac mini for recording

Can i use logic exprees on a mac mini for recording? Ive seen alot of 8,12, and 16 track recorders with a cd burner and it seems like a logical and more productive gues for me to buy a macmini for the same thing of recording and then I can uses logic express, a far better program for recording. can the mac mini handle the load of processing tracks and how much ram should I uses? thanks tim

Asset which is under Asset Class Support system-B700. Here every thing is ok but the problem in USE FULL LIFE which is come by default. It must be 4 instead of 5.   So can any body help me out from this how to change the Useful life in that Asset class. In that Asset Class we have the morethan 200 Assets. It was happend in Prdocution system so now the problem is where i can change the useful life for the asset class either in DEV or PRD.
       Also i want to know the information of How these assets are Uploaded into the system (Lsmw or etc). this is very urgent for me.

I am able to pipe the results to a file however, I would like to convert it to CSV/HTML When i try "convertto-HTML"

If you just want to look for the new events since the last run, I suggest to record the EventRecordID of the last event you parsed and use it as a reference in your filter. For example:

That's this logic that the Server Manager of Windows Serve 2012 is using to save time, CPU and bandwidth. The problem is how to get that number and provide it to your next run. You can store in a file and read it at the beginning. If not found, you
can go through the all event list.
Let's say you store it in a simple text file, ref.txt

This is very lazy check. You can do a proper parsing etc... That's a quick dirty way. If I can read
it and parse it as an integer, I use it. Else, I just set it to 0 meaning I'll collect all info.
Then include it in your filter. You Get-WinEvent becomes:

At the end of your script, store the last value you got into your ref.txt file. So you can for example get that info in the loop. Like:

Then next time you run it, it is just scanning the delta. Note that I prefer this versus the date filter in case of the machine wasn't active for long or in case of time sync issue which can sometimes mess up with the date based filters.
If you want to go for a date filtering, do it at the Get-WinEvent level, not in the Where-Object. If the query is local, it doesn't change much. But in remote system, it does the filter on the remote side therefore you're saving time and resources on your
side. So for example for the last 30 days, and if you want to use the XMLFilter parameter, you can use:
