Negative amperage means battery is being used. Electricity is flowing out of the battery.
When battery is fully charged amperage will be shown as 0.
Battery condition is stated as normal. And that is good.
97% is not bad at all.
If you want you can take the MBP to the Apple store for checking.

  • Good or bad battery???

    hi
i just bought a macbook pro 15" last week and im just wondering if i have a good or bad battery 'coz upon opening my macbook for the first time it suggested a lot of updates, including the battery update...so i did all updates...
i charged my macbook fully last night and used it this morning...i checked my battery status and says 99%-2:55 remaining...then after 97%-4:11 remaining...
    i also check preferences....
    full charge capacity : 5489
    remaining capacity : 5407
    amperage : -1496
    voltage : 12294
    cycle count : 3
i hope someone can enlighten me...
    thanks in advance...

your stats seem ok.. i've gotten it as high as 142 hours temporarily, when its discharging.. the battery time to die measurement is at best an estimate..
what were you running that you were drawing -1400 amps? thats a bit excessive...
i run a problem called IBatt2 it has a grading system which compares your battery to the median of the same type of system battery... it will also show you the essential data...
my battery with 45 cycles, gets a "C" grade on their system.

  • Is this good or bad in terms of battery life?

So I have a question, my usage is 1 hour, 11 minutes; standby is 13 hours, 29 minutes. This is since the last full charge on my iphone4s and now the battery is at 68%. Is this good or bad, and the thing is when I used certain apps like words with friends even for 2-3mins I actually noticed the battery life going down 2%, and I know that because I have the option for showing the battery percentage switched to on. It's frustating that I'm doing the simplest task like going through settings and the battery is draining so quickly. Does anyone have and suggestions about increasing the battery life?

The short battery life is an issue of iOS5 that should be fixed with the next updates. ( also hope that Apple would fix it fast)

  • Battery life good or bad, confused

is this good battery life or not? .... my friends tell me its bad
ive been using my phone for 2 hours and 24 min and its at 64%
with 4 hours and 7 min of standby
is this good or bad or is it normal usage?

Well that seems fine then because phone calls do drain the battery faster, along with streaming media off youtube. I think your friends are wrong

  • Using a power bank good or bad for iphone battery lifespan?

I currently use iphone 5, i see many aid product made now such as power bank,
but a question comes in my mind , is that good or bad for our battery lifespan?

Are you referring to cases with battery packs in them?
If so, most have a switch to turn the battery in the case on or off.
Having the iPhone or any phone in a battery case is neither good or bad.  It is merely a way to extend the "life" of the device between charges without the need to physically plug the device in as there is always the extra battery onboard.

I'd just like to say that ahs70's post on Dec 1, 2013 at 1:17am on Pg. 9 worked for me as well: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5338609?start=120&tstart=0
If your iPhone's battery is acting up you need to determine if it's a software issue or a hardware/battery issue.  To do that, after syncing your iPhone, erase/hard reset all data and settings from your iPhone to what it was from the factory as new.  This can be found in Settings/General/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings.  Then test it out for a day or two.  If it's still acting up then it's likely a hardware issue and you will need to get your battery replaced.  If your warranty is done than check out this link to get a battery kit to replace your iPhone battery yourself:  http://www.ifixit.com/Store/iPhone/iPhone-5-Replacement-Battery/IF118-001#produc tDescription
If your iPhone is now working properly after hard resetting it than it's most likely a software issue.  This battery issue only started after upgrading to the new iOs7, so it is obviously related to the update not properly installing itself.  What has worked for me and many others is to manually update to iOS 7.0.4 using the full downloaded version of the update which is about 1.32 Gigs.
But first you need to find out what model of iPhone you have, click here to determine if it's GSM or CDMA: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Then go here and scroll down to download the iOS 7.0.4 complete update for your device:  http://www.downloadios7.org/download-ios-7-0-4-ipsw-file.html
Then scroll up on the download page and follow the instructions of updating your iPhone manually following the instructions below:  "IPSW with iTunes"
    And your done.
    Problem solved.
I only posted this because it was a very frustrating problem that no one really seemed to figure out a solution for.
    I hope this helps.

It does no harm. It won't over charge.

  • Battery Health; Is it good or bad? :\

    Hey there
I was trying to find out if my battery is running properly or not, but seriously, I am so confused even though i have viewed countless topics. I have never really calibrated my battery before, I didnt know about having to do this :\
and these are my battery stats:
    Battery Information:
    Battery Installed: Yes
    First low level warning: No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 4577
    Remaining Capacity (mAh): 4577
    Amperage (mA): -1649
    Voltage (mV): 12329
    Cycle Count: 431
Is it still doing good for a Macbook that was purchased around June 2007? Because sometimes my battery runs out really fast! It could probably last about two hours without charging. And I see so many people with much lesser cycle counts even when they have owned the laptop for a longer time than me :O I used my laptop practically everyday (almost about 16hours a day) for school and surfing.
    null

I didn't ask if you removed your battery that doesn't have anything to do with the problem. In fact it is best to not remove the battery to run it on the mains if that is what your referring to. It is just that in 7 months to have the cycle count you have you would have had to discharge and charge your battery fully twice every day you have owned it. That is a lot if you have been using the mains too. There is a chance with proper care you may be able to recover some use from the battery. Lets see how it looks after a calibration. Also go ahead and reset the SMC (System Management Controller) before you calibrate it.

How bad is it? I mean how long does it last on standby.
My first iPhone 5 had a bad battery and they replaced the phone. The new one isn't good either, but I can live with it.

  • Battery not charging although condition "good" AND date reset to 1970...

Hi Guys, Hope someone can help me out here.
I've got a powerbook model power PC G4, 1,25 GHz.
Out of the blue my battery won't charge anymore, although in the systems profile the battery is indicated as condition: Good. But the system also says "not charging". The battery itself also doesnot give any green lights. It looks totally empty.
The strange thing is that the adapter ring is on green although it is not charging and as i have powered-off and on again, my date setting goes to 1/1/1970???
I don't have a clue what's going on. Anyone here to help me out?
    Much appreciated.
    Anthony

Your date is set to the default for your machine because your internal backup battery (sometimes called the PRAM battery) is drained, along with the main battery. This indicates that no power from the AC adapter is reaching the batteries, even though you are apparently able to run the machine on AC power. That in turn suggests that the charging system is kaput.
You can tryresetting the Power Management Unit, which is supposed to take care of distributing power where it's needed. If that doesn't resolve the problem, see whether a different, known-good AC adapter will charge the battery. If you don't have access to one, take your machine to an Apple Store — they'll have one to test with. If that works properly, replace your AC adapter. But I doubt that that's the problem if you can run your machine off your own adapter. More likely the fault is inside the machine. Take the two steps described above and then post back here with results.

  • Is it possible i am using duplicate charger for charging battery but battery life is very short 6 hours what's the problem

Is it possible i am using duplicate charger for charging battery but battery life is very short 6 hours what's the problem

First, the battery. The recalled battery replacements have not held up well, and, unfortunately, feedback on the Apple site isn't what I would call complementary about their batteries. When I replaced mine, I got a Newer Technology battery from OWC at http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/BAP17AL60RS/ . Mine has 104 cycles on it and 4113 mAh capacity.
Now, charging. There are only 4 components in the charging circuit: Power adapter, DC-in card, battery and logic board. It sounds like your power adapter, being newer, is probably fine. Where the power adapter plugs into the computer, is that jack loose? If you put a pen or pencil on it and push it a little, gently, does it wiggle side-to-side? If so, your DC-in card may be bad. Assuming the battery stats are good and the battery is good, it should charge. Sooo, last but not least, is the logic board. Probably the best thing you can do is find a friend with a Powerbook or visit an Apple store or Apple authorized service provider to use another power supply that they know works (just to be sure) and a substitute battery (again, to be sure). If indeed yours are good, and I went through this a few months ago with one of our Powerbooks, you can replace the DC-in card, and if that doesn't work, then the logic board.
If you want Apple to do that, have them send it to the Apple depot, where they'll do whatever is required to put the Powerbook in close to new condition. Put an old, bad, Apple battery in it, so they'll replace it. Cost runs around $350 if the case isn't banged up, and if it is, the price can go up. When ours went in, they replaced the logic board and put a new battery in. Of course ensure your data is backed up, and if anything is really confidential, move it onto an encrypted disk on your hard drive or back it up and delete it.
If you have the store replace the logic board, it will run you more than double what they charge to send it to the depot.

  • Placing a PDF file in an InDesign Doc and PDF again for a vendor- Good or Bad?

Current debate in the graphics department is
Is it good or bad to place a PDF (general Press Quality) into an InDesign document and then creating a new PDF file with print vendor settings from that document?
My thought is that you in some cases are double compressing, lower dpi images getting compressed, RGB color mode images okay on layout but now are converted to CMYK and shift in the PDF.
Are there other issues and if so what are they.
Also is there an easy way to check ppi, color mode and compression of an acrobat PDF? I mean other than doing a preflight and searching into each image folder twenty levels deep. FlightCheck and Enfocus are not options,
too many vendors and not enough time.
Thank you all in advance for your words of wisdom.

Dov, I just got off the phone with a trusted professional in the Prepress field at a quite reputable print house, and he said "Dov is the guru of PDFs, ask him this...Will the InDesign CS3 preflight see the characteristics of a PDF (color mode, dpi(ppi), compression) if the original placed PDF is created as a pdf .X4 (1.7)? Ask him also if you were to use one form of compression (say lossless) in the original PDF, and then another form(say lossy) in the vendor PDF would it hold both or convert the first PDF compression to the second form?"
Any other responses are also welcomed.

  • 85% left after 1 hour of mixed use - good or bad?

hi i bought my iphone a few weeks ago, everything ok, except i did think the battery was draining far too quickly compared to my 1 year old 3g. so i took it back to the store to get it replaced. i got my replacement and the i am getting the same usage time as the one i took back!
heres my settings, wifi on, 3g on, push (beejive) on, push email on, location services on, brightness about 40% and bluetooth off. now i know that i have all the power hungry options set to on, but in comparison with my 3g everythings set the same (except for push though), signal is mainly 3g with 1 - 5 bars and sometimes edge 4-5 bars but i was expecting better life from my 3gs considering its a newer phone.
i did a quick test this morning and got to about 85-84% in the first hour, this is about average with usage of web, map, itunes store, app store, checking mail, beejive check, stocks, itunes music (looking - not played anything, just for testing purpses)
any advice? its a week 72 3gs (the returned one was too), should i return it? wait for update 3.1 see if that improves things? or is battery life consistant with my usage? i dont know but any advice will be helpful!
    many thanks
    d

I wouldn't consider your usage to be a problem. I also have a years' experience with the 3G and though battery usage wasn't as good as the original iPhone it was manageable. So, too, my experience with the 3Gs. I carry a couple of different extra, external batteries when I know I'm going to be out and about with the phone for an extended period, and it's plugged in when I'm at rest at home, or in the car. Judging by what you've posted I'm not sure there's anything wrong with your phone.
