Battery and ac replacement for dv2-1039wm notebook. can it be upgraded o more cells than 6?
Hi, this is driving me crazy. I need to know if I can upgrade my battery (since mine is now dead) to a 9 cell or more? If so, would I also need to upgrade my ac? What would be compatible? I bought a replacement 6cell brand new from a shop but it dies too quickly. Thank you

Warranties, by default begin when the units are shipped, and most often have an extra 30 days or so added in to cover transit and sell through delays. In some instances, such as yours, units can sit in a reseller inventory and so it is desireable to adjust the warranty start date based on the sales receipt. Lenovo does accept this as a matter of course, your individual experiences notwithstanding. I'm not clear why yours was rejected, but we should take another look at it and see if it will help in this case.
While it is possible that the system board or AC adapter could also be bad, I've found that replacing a battery that exhibits these symptoms returns the system to working order.
No, there is no planned obsolence scheme in order to sell more batteries. While the battery warranty on all Lenovo systems is one year (excluding any special service programs or tips) users often get several years of life from batteries, dependent on care and usage patterns. Understandably, there is a natural distribution - some might require replacement in 8 months, while some might continue to perform at some reasonable level for many months.

My mouse pointer in finder is not working by double clicking on the application.I have to double click and select open for opening the application.Can you suggest me some settings to fix this problem?

Try this ... reboot your Mac and see if double clicking works again.
Also, you can just select the Application you like to open and hold down the Command+O to open.
Also, did you check your setting for the mouse in system preferences.

When I go to iTunes and then check for updates. I can not do this action due to the fact iTunes will not connect to the internet although the internet is working just fine, what do I do to fix this issue? Apparently I am currently using iTunes 7.0.
If you're really using iTunes 7.0 you are very far behind the current version - maybe it is trying to connect to a decomissioned server. In fact I am kind of surprised it will run on a Macbook Air. Are you sure you are running iTunes 7?

When the update fails what if any error report do you get, specifically? Please do this before trying again:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -

Hopefully a simple question. My father-in-law passed recently, leaving behind an unopened copy of CS 5.5 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition for Macs. How can I find out if he registered this software without opening it? After finding out how much this software runs, I'd like to sell or return it if possible to give the money to my mother-in-law for funeral costs.

Honestly I don't know if it's a Lion or MS problem eihter. I have been using Lion for many months with Office 2011 with no problems though.The earliest version I had on my machine was 2008 and 2011 opened those files with no problems at all. As Dave mentioned earlier he opens Office 2004 files all the time with 2011.
One thing you might want to do is restart the computer while holding down the Option key then select the Restore Volume and run Disk Utility and repair the Disk Permissions on the HD. Run DP at least 2x. -
Why is it every time I try to buy itunes I am diverted to the Chinese store and cannot pay for my items? Can anyone help? I have tries to select the English store but it will not allow me to proceed. I think it has been hacked in the past as there is a list of Chinese Apps which it seems to be awaiting payment for, going back to 2011.

BUT you could try to see if you have a back up that is not encrypted. If you go to iTunes Preferences (On a Windows go to Edit Menu under the Play Button - On a Mac click on iTunes at the top left) Click on Devices and if you see a back up that does not have a lock next to it you will be able to restore from that back up without using that password.
Encrypted passwords are set up at the time you create the back up. -

No, they are NOT the same as proxy or optimized.
When you add a clip to your timeline and, say, apply an effect to it, or superimpose a title on the clip, FCP X has to make many calculations to determine what color each pixel of each frame should be. If a section of your timeline is not rendered, it has to do all these calculations every time you play those frames. A render file has the frames already "calculated", so it plays fast and smoothly.
For simple compositions and a fast computer, you may avoid rendering completely - and you may also choose to only render the portions where playback stutters.
Render files can be safely deleted. FCP X can recreate them if needed (either automatically if you have "background render" on, or on demand, when you select the "render" or "render all" commands). -

This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it. -

The "None" option is not available. Presumably because I have already purchased on that Apple ID with a credit card.

Chrome is very resource intensive.
It is possible you are running other memory intensive apps.
You have a lot of 3rd party additions loaded at boot time. Do you really need all of them? Even after you get rid of MacCleaner (as suggested by rkaufmann87).
Do you really need the seagate and WD drive software? The Mac is fairly good at accessing disks without 3rd party intervention.
Any of the 3rd party additions listed by EtreCheck that you do not need, you should consider uninstalling.

in just about 4 days, says you have about 0.5megabytes per second. That is a huge load on your disk drive.
Either cut back on the RAM intensive apps, or get more RAM. At least 8GB, but if your Mac supports it, 16GB. Crucial.com and MacSales.com (OWC) are well respected by the long term forum contributes. -

Hi, I have an HP mini 5101 netbook, it's got a 3 cell 14.8 V 1900 mAh battery and I'd like to buy a battery with a larger capacity. Most of the batteries I've found online have a 10.8 or 11.1 V rating and, though the sellers usually say the battery is compatible I've got my doubts. Are they compatible, or would the netbook switch off every now and then?
