Battery and Lightning bolt underneath

Last night I did not get a chance to charge my iPhone 3GS before I went to sleep. I wake up in the morning and notice that my battery is dead. I plug my phone into my computer to charge and I get picture of a battery with red filling a very little bit of it up with a lightning bolt underneath, I know that this means the phone is charging, but it has been on this screen for over 6 hours already. What's going on??

Charge it off a mains adapter, rather than a USB cable. It may have got half way through a restart and without a mains supply, it won't restart properly.

  • Red light stays on..then battery with lightning bolt show

I have the 8330 curve and as i was getting out of my car tonight and my phone dropped. It shut off and hasnt turned on since...i plugged it into my charger and the red led light stays on and then goes off and a battery with a lightning bolt shows on the screne. Is there any thing to do to fix this?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Please note that "known good" and "new" are not necessarily the same thing...while rare, a new battery can be defective.
Good luck and let us know!

  • IPhone Shows Depleting Red Battery And Lightning Icon When I Plug It in.

When I plugged in My iPhone 5 to charge it, it just shows the depleting red battery and the lightning icon. My iPhone will not charge at all !!! Please Help Me!

It could be as simple as a bad cable or a bad charger.  If you have another compatible charger and cable, or can borrow one from a friend, see if that solves the problem.  Many cheap non-Apple chargers and cables can also cause these problems.

  • My ipod 4g is stuck at the battery with a lightning bolt underneath and won't charge

My iPod died about a month ago, and I waiting. I tried charging it with almost everything I could. I plugged it into the wall, computer, etc..
To make this easier, my iPod is not jailbroken and the home button fell off and I had a feeling it had to do with the orange chip underneath the home button being loose, but that's not what other people who experienced the same thing as me had.
I tried pressing the power button, holding the power button. I can't use the home button since it is broken. I always used Assisitive Touch.
I tried pressing the power button over and over. I left the iPod in each section I charged it at for at least a night, hoping that in the morning it would turn on again.
Because it won't turn on, my iPod won't register in itunes so I can't restore it or recover it in any way that I know of without using itunes or the home button.
I eventually gave up on it and recently came back to my iPod, wanting to use it again.
I would really like to know how to fix it.

Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and then try restoring via iTunes:

    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and

  • Ipod touch 5th generation battery screen with lightning bolt locked cannot charge or restart.  ive tried everything from new cables attempting to shut down but stays at screen for a few seconds then black screen again over and over

screen locked up and shows the battery with low red and ligtning bolt and cannot hard shut down or reset just stays there for a few seconds then black screen. hooked up to computer and itunes doesnt recognize it or even shows that it is pluged in.  looked and made sure nothing is broken or metal in ligting port or on cable which would prevent it from accepting a charge. ipod is only a month old and seems like a waste of money if its so hard to try to get an explanation of why this is ive been tryning to get an answer from apple for a week now.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT1349 My daughter's IPOD 5 Touch is not taking a charge.  It show a picture of lightning bolt and above that it shows a picture of a battery with a very slim red line at end of battery picture.  She just got this in August of 2013.  What could be the pro

IPOD 5 Touch is not taking a charge.  It shows a picture of a lightning bolt and above that a picture of a battery at the end of the battery is a slim red line.  This was purchased in August 2013.  Could it be battery or ac charger adapter or usb cable?

Those all sound like reasonable causes.  I do not know the answer.  There is probably an Apple Support forum for the ipod that could help.  Also try the ipod Help in itunes.

  • I recently dropped my ipod in water and i placed it into rice for 3 days. Then when i try and connect it to the computer it shows the no battery screen with just the lightning bolt. and when i try to restore it the screen flashes then resest

Then when i try and connect it to the computer it shows the no battery screen with just the lightning bolt. and when i try to restore it the screen flashes then resest to the no battery screen and i get error 1602. Do you know what is wrong with it? do you think its just the battery cause i can replace that for cheap or do you think the circuts are fried?

No. It sounds like the water destroyed the component inside the iPod.
About your only choice now it to take it to Apple and pay for a replacement.

Did you already try to set it up "as new device" How to back up your data and set up as a new device
If this does not work, try again, this time without using the latest backup, in case it contains corrupt data, causing your problems.

  • Any solution to a white screen with a battery icon with a lightning bolt through it on the Tour?

My daughters blackberry tour suddenly stopped taking a charge and would not power on. It just shows a white screen, with a battery shaped icon & lightning bolt through it.  Went to our local cell store and they did a battery swap for us. The phone worked for about 2 hours then did the same thing. After a couple more swaps with no change, they un installed and re-installed the software. This again fixed it temporarily. When it quit again, we were sent a replacement phone. The replacement did the same thing. We were sent a 2nd replacement, but in the meantime, the first replacement started working. It worked for about a week then did the same thing. Now we have attempted to activate the 2nd replacement and it gets the same screen and will not charge enough to even activate it. I'm working with the customer support (phone is under warranty still), but so far no solution. Anyone else experience this? I find it strange that we now have a 3rd phone, doing the same thing and we have tried new batteries and an new charger.

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage).
If it doesn't boot--try using a wall outlet charger if you are not. If you are connected via USB to the PC, make certain that you have Desktop Manager (or the USB device drivers) installed, which you can download below.
Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.

  • Pre 1.4.1.1 indicates that it's charging (lightning bolt on battery at top right) even once it's unplugged from any chargers.

Pre 1.4.1.1 indicates that it's charging (lightning bolt on battery at top right) even once it's unplugged from any chargers.  Only way to correct is by re-booting.  I find myself having to re-boot this thing at least once a day since the last update.
Please help or fix... or both!

    Hello bwind;
Have you installed anything from a source other than the app catalog? If so, try removing those items and see if that resolves. If not, since a restart fixes the issue at least temporarily, you may want to consider a partial erase to reload the OS.
    Hope this helps,

  • Lightning Bolt thru Battery Icon

When I check my battery usage there is a lightning bolt thru it that NEVER goes away even if it has been charging all night and is no longer on the charger. I couldn't find anything on this in the user manual. Does this indicate a problem? Should I be concerned? How do I fix it?
    Thanks!
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

here's the link for the palm desktop software for the E2. you need to install this to your PC and sync your handheld to save the data. though the data will not will be lost if the battery died down since E2 is using NVRAM but still it's not a guarantee. once your data got in the device you haven't don't a hotsync, you can no longer recover them back. so it's good to sync and save it to the PC so that you can re-sync it over.
to check your battery life, you can just tap the battery icon. it should show the percentage of how much battery life left.
