********Battery back to Normal - Deleting iCloud from iPhone

******** Deleting iCloud from iPhone helped ***********
iCloud is indeed an excellent feature, no denying that. My 3 colleagues too had the same issue, ios5 with iPhone 4 on AT&T , we checked when on 3G( with wifi being turned off)  and nothing being running on the phone, the cellular data usage keeps increasing. Phone keeps sending and receiving data on AT&T for no apparent reason. They too deleted the iCloud account and the sending and receiving of data just stopped.
****** This draining of data happens only when connected to 3G ******.
Turning off/ Deleting icloud account on my iphone helped in *my case*. I am not generalizing here but *if possible* give this option a try, One can always turn on/sign back in the icloud account back and continue using the iphone as before. Don't know if it's AT&T issue or iCloud issue.
If and when this is fixed I do plan to move back to iCloud but for now I am glad I found the problem at least in mine and my other colleague's phone and the battery life of course returned to normal. If you are connected to wifi all the time you will never know this issue.
These are the steps to check if iCloud is a issue:
1. Turn off wifi and make sure you are connected to 3G (my case it's AT&T)
2. Reset usage statistics to 0 bytes.
3. check back usage statistics in 5-10 seconds. please note the the numbers don't refresh automatically.  Go back to "general" and then back to usage. Give this a try for 1-2 min. If indeed iCloud is the issue you will see the usage increase of the cellular data.
4. Delete iCloud account( you can always sign back in and everything would work like before ) .
5. Reset usage statistics to 0 bytes. You will see the data drain for 10-20 seconds max and then stopped completely.
6. Reset it back to 0 bytes. And you will see it goes back up to 1 Kb and then stops completely.
I was able to replicate this behavior in all the 4 iPhones I saw.
Only option for me is to wait for apple to fix this hopefully in the next version.
Best luck.

its your contacts sync.  iCloud has an issue with contacts synching that drains the battery.  You will note that your phone has a spiraling synching symbol at the top of the screen next to the Wifi icon - indicates a constant attept to sync your Contacts.   Connect to iCloud and make sure it syncs and uploads all contacts to the iCloud.  Back up your contacts on your computer anyway or back up your iPhone data including your Contacts, turn off Contacts sync in your iCloud settings and allow contacts to be deleted off your phone.  Then turn iCloud sync for Contacts back on and allow it to merge data with the cloud.  BOOM - Fixed.

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications.  I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone.  I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.  I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either.  Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

If I delete iCloud from iPhone 4 phone will this delete everything from my new upgraded iphone 5 ?

No. You can delete your iCloud account from your iPhone 4  and the information will remain in iCloud either through syncing or through a backup.or through both features.  Just make sure you have a recent backup.

  • Cannot delete iCloud from iPhone

I cannot find a way to delete my previous iCloud account on my iPhone 5s.
I had my iCloud/Apple ID as my undergraduate school email. I no longer have access to that email. I created a new iCloud, but cannot add it to my 5s.
I've tried what seems to be everything, but I cannot verify the old email in order to change it. Furthermore, when I chose "forgot password," it won't recognize my birthday as correct :/. Please help

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change (even if you don't have access to the account any more).  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

how do you change your user name in i cloud on my iphone

You have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.

  • If you delete iCloud from iPhone will it delete pictures that are on your phone

i set up my iPhone with my Apple ID, but I would like to delete it and use my husbands so that my pictures will go to ur iPad since the iCloud on the iPad is his apple ID. I want to make sure if i delete the iCloud account on my phone it will not delete photos on my phone. Or if I delete the iCloud on the iPad to use my Apple ID will it delete all the photos from our iPad?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you delete your iCloud account from your phone, it will only delete photos in photo stream, it will not delete photos in your camera roll or other albums that you have on your phone.

    You don't.
    Turn on PhotoStream in iCloud.
    Settings>iCloud>PhotoStream
PhotoStream will store 1000 of your most recent photos and synch with iPhoto on your Mac.

  • HT201317 how do i restore a deleted picture from iphone

How do I restore deleted picture from iphone 4s

If you've previously synced the pictures to a computer (as is generally advised to archive them), then they are gone, unless you have backed up the device to itunes or icloud.  If so, you need to perform a restore:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your phone.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your phone is new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.
Note that you cannot restore just one file, it's all or nothing.

  • Deleted data from iphone thanks to itunes synchronisation

Yesterday, without realising it, I synchronised my iphone (thanks to this automatic synchronisation service offered as a default on itunes, grrrr) to my husband's itunes account which had NOTHING on it. I have now lost everything on my iphone, including apps, photos, purchased itunes, saved contacts, everything. The setting on the iphone has gone back to basics. Can someone please tell me if there is a way for me to recover everything that itunes deleted from my iphone? I have searched through itunes and my iphone, and there is nothing that specifically answers the issue of accidentally deleting data from iphone due to itunes synchronisation. HELP!

In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred via the iTunes sync/transfer process from a single computer only.
Even with iTunes set to sync an iPod or iPhone automatically when connected, when connecting an iPhone to iTunes on a different computer than is used to sync with the iPhone, a warning message is provided along with a warning message that all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first, which must be approved.
Contacts on your iPhone are not touched unless you select to sync contacts with a supported address book application on the computer which is selected under the Info tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, which is not selected automatically.
3rd party apps can be downloaded again with iTunes on a computer that is logged in with your iTunes account or with your iPhone and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to download the app that was used to purchase the app originally, but not the same with music, which can be downloaded once.

  • Why can I delete songs from iPhone if they return when synced??

Why is there an option to delete songs from iPhone if it dosn't really delete them?? When you delete songs from the iPhone it will put them right back in as soon as you press sync. The only way around it is to manage you music manually witch is allot harder and now when you delete from iPhone it won't sync them back in but you now don't know what you removed. So you won't be able to put them back in unless you put back to auto and put all songs back in. What should happen is when you sync with pc the songs you removed from iPhone should automatically be unmarked so they are not synced back in and you know what you have deleted. Why is this so hard for apple to do!!!!!?????
